My first shot out of this rut, hope I can do more soon. Thank you everyone

Hello everyone, TCF here, I hope you all enjoy my newest tale. I wrote this trying to get out of my rut that I have been in. I hope it will be enjoyable. Comments and such are always very appreciated and I wish you all the very best.

Forgive Me

Brian gripped the steering wheel of his car tightly, the traffic of every day life a blur in his mind, only concentrating on one thing. Getting home: getting to Ruby. All other worries faded, all memories blurred, he needed to get home now. He needed to make everything right again somehow.

The collie's footpaw pressed down on the accelerator more than it should, he didn't give a damn. The text he got from her at work had him drop everything, including his coffee straight to the generic carpeted floor as he read it over and over again: "I know about her, I am leaving."

"Get the FUCK outta my way!" he cursed, cutting off an innocent driver as he made it to his suburban home as quick as he could, his anger quickly replaced by a whine he certainly could not hide, his vision fuzzed by his tears as he thought. How did this happen? Why? Where could he begin with her?

The screech of the tires filled his ears as even through his faltered vision, he could see his home. All white, black shingles, white picket fence, lovely neighbourhood, all he worked his life for. He wiped his brow, the tears off as well, opening his door quickly and running to the front, before him the door opening and a shove slamming him to the yard below.

"How long?!" A bright red dragoness stomped out, her nostrils flaming as for her heritage. Ruby. His love, his wife. After all this...he didn't even know. She reached down, taking a slash with her claws straight to his cheeks, blood quickly staining the white fur that laid there. The yelp Brian releasing one of pain and yet sorrow as he looked back up to his wife.

"You think I am some dumb bitch? Think I would never figure something like this out! Come on Brian, really?" she chuckled. Hollow, in pain of her own, but angered poured from every word. He threw the shirt against his chest, Brian grasping at it as his neighbours came out to watch. The eyes unpleasant, and no matter what they may say after, uncaring.

"Hon...I..." he looked for the evidence she found so clear, a growl rising out of Ruby's throat as she shoved him, taking the short into her own paws. The look on the collie's muzzle one of shock and horror. He had been so careful to try and not hurt anyone. He did all he could think of. He didn't understand...

"Here you fucking idiot..." she growled, tears streaking her cheeks as her rage somewhat calmed. She showed him, the collar, fur luscious and orange, the scent of someone...someone Brian knew yes. "It isn't just here...your clothes reek of it all...your underwear even. Having a fun office party asshole?" she chuckled...again, hollow, sad.

"I can explain..." Brian muttered, still laying against the grass of their lawn as she snapped. "YOU can explain to our divorce lawyer you piece of shit. I do everything for you, anything you ask. Yet...you need to get some ass from someone else? Am I not good enough?" she growled. She pointed around to nothing specific. "Every god damn man in this town would fuck me at any chance they get...but not you." Her tears were no longer controlled, her sobs breaking through her angered burst as she covered her muzzle, walking back in the house for a moment.

Brian couldn't think of anything. He still sat there, right where he was shoved down not a minute ago. His muzzle agape, the blood from his wound trickling to the earth below. "I..." he muttered to himself, he head hanging down as his wife...ex-wife he presumed, walked out.

"I, am taking this car, going to my mom's." She growled, picking him up by the scruff of his collar, another yelp breaking through. "And you? Heh, fuck you." she dropped him, walking to the car and immediately pulling out. "RUBY!" he called out, running and smacking the drivers side door. "DON'T DO THIS!" he called. He ran in front of the hood, trying to make her halt. She didn't even think about stopping, going faster as he banged against the hood, rolling of to the paved road as she drove off with nothing but a screech of the tires.

The pain from the impact didn't even phase Brian compared to the pain in his heart. The woman he loved for most of his life...gone in a flash. Because of his carelessness, because he couldn't admit it to her. Picking himself up, he looked around, his neighbours still watching. "No don't worry...I am FUCKING FINE!" he barked out, brushing the dirt off his shirt, now blood stained as he walked up to his open door.

"D...Daddy?" a soft voice called out.

He looked up, a gasp and a shake of his head instantly coming out. "No no no..." he muttered to himself. In the doorway, in his full body pyjamas, his Superman ones...his favourite, a small collie pup looked up to him. He was scared, clutching his teddy bear, the one he gave him, in his paws. He knew when he was scared. The poor pup was always scared of loud noises like the yelling.

Derek was his pup. His pride and joy. At such a delicate age of 3, he really didn't want this to happen..."Hey...hey buddy." Brian put on his best smile, crying as he did, going down on his knees in front of the striped shirt Ruby had found, looking up to his pup. "Buddy, go inside please? Wait for daddy, I will be there soon, promise." He continued to try to smile for him, the streaks falling down his face as he looked to him.

"Where did mommy go?" The pup's voice was faint, innocent, pure. God, he was so young. He clutched against Mr. Snuggles more as he looked over to his dad, almost stepping out of the door and shaky paws.

"Please, Derek, go inside. Daddy's okay, everything is okay. Mommy went out. Don't...don't worry buddy." He looked down to the ground. He couldn't bring himself to look at him anymore. He had destroyed his family...Derek's family.

"Okay Daddy...I...I will wait here." He sat down on his rear, the small padded footsies laying out as he held Mr. Snuggles close. The poor pup...Brian breathed deep, picking up the shirt as he walked to his front door, closing it so the peering eyes of the town couldn't look in any longer.

Brian knelt down, giving his pup a pat on the head, softly lifting him up as he looked to him. "Hey buddy. Daddy's sorry about before. Don't worry, Mommy is coming home okay?" he petted under the pup's muzzle, a sniffle leaving the pup's muzzle as he hugged his daddy. Brian's ears dropped, hugging the pup as he carried him over to the couch in their living room, sitting down and holding him.

"Pup...I am so sorry." He held him, finally letting his sadness out, holding his son against his chest as he cried, whining out as he wished for this all to end. For this day to have never happened.

"Daddy, why is Mommy gone?" the pup kept crying, along with his father, Brian wiping his muzzle as he sniffled up, trying to be strong for his pup. "Me and Mommy just...had a fight pup...she will be back, I promise." he pet his head, slowly sitting him down beside him on the couch, the leather comforting them both as he looked down to him, handing him Mr. Snuggles.

"Are you sure Daddy? It was so loud...scared me..." he scratched the pup behind his ears, looking to Derek. "I promise pup...grown ups we..." he coughed, trying to keep all the pain back. "Grown ups disagree sometimes. Me and Mom didn't see the same way. Mommy didn't like that. She will be okay. I promise pup."

Holding his Mr. Snuggles tighter, Derek nodded, looking up to his dad, his eyes so big...so innocent. "So...it will be okay?" he sniffled, wiping his arm across his nose as Brian couldn't help but smile down to him. "I promise buddy. I promise. You hungry?" Derek nodded, sniffling. "Could we...could we get some...some pizza?" the pup asked.

"Sure buddy, been a rough day huh?" he petted his ears, kissing the top of his forehead as the pup nodded. "Yeah." Brian got up, turning the TV on to Derek's favourite channel, the cartoons flashing by but the child still looking to his daddy. "I will go order it pup, just watch some TV till I get back, okay?"

Derek nodded, shifting around on his rear until he got comfortable, deciding to lay on his side with Mr. Snuggle as he watched. He was usually so happy watching these shows, today though...god. Brian walked out to the kitchen before he thought about it too much. Picking up the phone, he couldn't help but notice the shirt still in his paw.

"This all..." he thought, sitting down at the kitchen table, laying the shirt down. The life he and Ruby had set out was so perfect, so magical in a sense. But all this...this has caused the empire to crumble. He had to explain it to her, but how? Where to start?

The fur, the shirt, the scent. How could he tell her all this? How could he tell her that the fur wasn't even from a woman...?
