The light of the moon shone in my eyes. My room was dark, and the only gap in my drapes directed its light at me. I can't sleep like this. I got up grumpily and shoved my shirt into the hole. That fixed it.
I rubbed my eyes as I couldn't see anything anymore, and I wasn't sleepy at all. I felt his stare piercing me. We had a bunk bed, he had the lower part. He could watch me all he wanted for all his life. He was my twin brother, we looked alike, but that was the only thing we had in common.
Sometimes he creeps me out, he does it on purpose. He loves making me squirm without any effort. He is also the youngest one. And a bit of a fairy, but he knows how to get what he wants. And that's what scares me most. His name is Jade, I'm Nick.
I walked back to the bed, feeling my hands onto the wood ladder that would get me back into my sheets. I stumbled some, we just realigned the room so I had no real idea anymore where everything was. The wood felt comfortable and I placed my foot on the first step, taking a deep breath. I was afraid of the dark, but now I'm safe. I suddenly felt a hand grasp my leg. I freaked out and bumped roughly against the edge of a desk, I yelped. He laughed, silently.
"Damnit Jade! What's wrong with you?!" I whispered as loud as I could. I held my side in pain, that'll be a bruise tomorrow. Ow, that really hurt. "You know you shouldn't do that, I'll get you back for this." I frowned at him, he stayed quiet and rolled over like nothing happened. I shot up the ladder this time, keeping myself safe in the sheets. Away from him. I should move out soon, this is frustrating me.
I rolled over a couple of times, unable to fall asleep, but as the night progressed in silence, it calmed me, so I dozed off eventually.
