Something I wrote for my Dragon for our anniversary. <3

The rattling of armor was heard through the forest, creatures running to hide from what they presumed to be a threat. His heavy footsteps mixed with his labored breaths as he made his way to the top of the hill before him. He smiled, seeing smoke coming from the little hidden chimney. She must be cooking...

The door squeaked loudly, his armor and rucksacks dropping on the floor in a heap with clinks and clatters. He swore, sword falling from his grasp and sliding across the entranceway floor. The green scaled dragon sighed, retrieving it and placing it on an outcropping rock to keep it safe for tomorrow. He bent, tail tip flicking absently as he searched for something in one of the rucksacks. Smiling and almost wagging when he found it, standing to follow the scent of delicious spices in the air.

He found her, barely clothed as usual, her orange and black fur shining in the light. She was working away in the kitchen, stirring pots and flipping meat in large iron pans. He smelled spices from around the world, noticing the food already set out on the table and licked is snout eagerly. He stretched loudly, body popping and groaning, before sitting at his usual seat. He looked around, wondering where their usual dinner guests were, but before he could ask, the fox turned and smiled.

"Cupcake and Pup decided to go out to eat tonight. Well, they were kicked out by me." Giggling the fox placed a final plate piled with delicious smelling steaming meats in the center of the table. She sat, sighing heavily and smiling across the heavily laden table at her mate. "Well don't just sit there! Dig in!" She reached for one of her favorites, piling her plate with food. The dragon wasted no time, filling his plate and then his mouth quickly.

"Oh gods, Foxy, this food is delicious; you did an amazing job!" His nostrils flared as he tried to breathe through his scarfing. The meat was his favorite, slathered in his homelands spices and cooked to perfection. He bit into a hot roll and found it just the right amount of crunchy outside versus soft and fluffy inside. A moan escaped him and he heard her giggle. "This is just what I needed, that last bounty sucked." He groaned as he thought about work. His scales needed a good rub down.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it, Otawk. I missed you; Pup and Cupcake started bickering over some chores and I had to put them both out in the barn with the Burbleps for four hours before they would get along. Barn's all clean though." Her tail flicked; her voice light and bubbly as she told him the week's events. He smiled, sipping tea with a blissful sigh.

"The spring is hot today; the magma is particularly active. Why don't you go take a nice dip? I'll clear up and set out some comfy pillows in our room." She stood, moving to pick up his metal plate. Otawk gently grasped her wrist, pulling her close and kissing her deeply, pulling the small treasure from his pocket while he had her distracted; he slipped it onto her tail. She jumped, quickly turning to see what had touched her sensitive, fluffy tail and noticing a small silver band.

"Oh, Otawk, it's beautiful! What's that?" She flicked her tail lightly, not wanting the jewelry to fall off. Looking closely, she gasped, noticing a small paw print charm. "Oh its lovely! You always bring me the best gifts! I love it!" She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him all over.

"Only the best for you, Foxy." He smiled and stood, picking her up and carrying her away from the kitchen. Giggling and laughing filling the house as they made their way to the hot springs.
