Chapter 3: Seeds Of Differences

Well I finally got the courage to left the pride and all the others weren't far behind. Soon it was getting late so we decided to find a den to rest in.As we were looking we were stopped by someone I hoped I'd never se again.

"Well well well" Said the leader of the other pack.Drake."What are you doing here Zak?"

"Drake we're just passing through."I replied hoping for an easy way out.

"Get the hell out here Zak. Or I'll force you."

"Drake relax we're just going to moonlight woods"

"Moonlight woods?" Then he started laughing like a psycho."It doesn't exist"

"Yes it does I-I've been there."I was trying to reasure him.

"No you haven't I've looked for it." He was starting to get aggressive. "IT DOESN'T EXIST!"

I have to admite I felt sorry the guy. "Wow so you just gave up. Th-that's pathetic."

As I said that he swung his paw and hit me.

It hurt quite a bit actually. "GAAH. What the hell I just being honest."

"I'M NOT PATHETIC I'M BEING REALISTIC I SPENT THREE YEARS-"

"Three years I spent four years and I found it."

Meg was confused "Zak I thought you left cause-"

"Meg not now." I know was doing an asshole move but I need to handle this.

"But Zak-"

"Who are you Zak's bodyguard cause I almost killed him last year, or just cause he's scarred?" That pissed me off no one talks to Meg that way.

"Shut up you basterd."I snapped.

"Oh now I'm a basterd too? Make up your fucking mind Zak, kill them start with the pretty black one."

"Nooo!"

I jumped for the pack and tried to hold them back.

"Jeff I could use some help here!"

"Got it Zak."

"Wait Jeff don't go!"

"Roxanne I have to-"

"But-but why?"

"He's my best friend."

Drake then interrupted." Yea listen to your little girlfriend."

"JEEEEEFFFF!"I yelled out.

Meg got freaked."STOP JUST STOP!!!"

Suddenly we all stopped fighting like Meg was some kind of goddess.

"Why-why are you fight what's to gain?"

"Satisfaction" Drake barked

"No blood-shed"

I was pretty shocked. "But Meg-"

"Why can't we go to moonlight woods together?"

"IT DOESN'T EXIST GET THAT THROUGH YOUR SKULL!!!"Drake snapted

"Shut up Drake it does." I yelled back.

"Hahaha fine Zak look for the moon. Look for the starlight."

"Drake there is a starlight, I'm the starlight."

"Get back to reality Zak. This isn't a dream."

Finally he left and the other were standing there like they were gonna say "What the fuck just happened?"

"Zak are you okay?" Meg asked

'MEG JUST STOP."

"Hey Zak, we'll look for a den, you can talk a walk to calm down we'll howl when we find one. Okay?" Jeff said

"Yea okay"

"Zak please come back." Meg was crying.

Will a sigh I said "No promises."

So I left for the walk.

Roxanne was pretty confused. "Uh what's a starlight?"

"A starlight is a special breed of wolves. Their different, they don't howl at the moon they howl at sirius." Jeff explained.

"Sirius?"

Jake answered her question. "The brightest star, it's constellation's a dog."

"Why does Zak think he's a starlght?"

Meg answered with tears in her eyes. "When that thing came out of Zak his fur markings, it's the markings a starlight is born with and when the demon comes out they change to form a pentagrame."

Jeff explained the rest. "When they become teens they get up and leave, they'll lie to keep other wolves from worrying. They sleep during the day, move and hunt at night or go months with out food. The only thing keeping then going is sirius."

"But Zak doesn't sleep during the day."

"He just wants to keep to our pattern of rest."

"So with that thing inside Zak does like make him a devil?"

"We prefer the term god of death and wrath."

While that was going down, I was walking into the field of grass.

"I know I'm the starlight. SIRIUS HELP ME WHO AM I, what am I?"

Then Sirius himself started talking to me.

"You are the starlight but you are different from all the other starlights."

"How?"

"You left your old pack for a reason, not just to follow your family heritage. You left to find love, happiness and pain."

"But it wasn't my fault I almost died it's Drake's."

"Yes but you did pass into his territory."

"I-I wasn't paying attention."

"You have to find the right way your self."

"Sirius don't go."

"Goodbye. My son."

"SIRIUS. DAAAAAD!!!"

Sirius was fading ."Your fate is sealed, remember what you are.

And then he-he was gone.

"Thanks dad."

I then heard Jeff. What a coincidence.

"Well they found one."

I then went back. And when I got back-

Jeff didn't waste time in asking. "Are you feeling better?"

I looked up at the stars and answered."Yea my dad helped."

"And???"

"He helped me realize that..." I took a pause to get my words together. "I-I am the starlight."

And just as Those words left my mouth, I noticed that a new star appeared in the sky. That's something that happens with all the starlights. Once they, or I guess, we accept the responsibilities of our power, or curse, our star will shine in the night sky.

"Huh and there I am." I wasn't actually expecting it to work I mean I thought this was all stories until I used the demon for the first time, and actually remembered.

"Uh what just happened?" Roxanne asked with a puzzled look on her face. "Why is there a new star did I miss something?"

"Well Roxanne you see, that's something that happens with all the starlights. Once I accept the responsibilities of my power, or curse, my star will shine in the night sky." I tried to explain with as little detail as possible as not to waste our time to rest and get ready for the next day.

"Uh Zak is that your dad's star?" Megan asked while looking at the sirius star.

"Yup, that's my dad." I finally knew what to do to show how much I loved my dad and without a seconds thought I howled to his star, his heart."I love you dad, and you too Meg forever and always."I leaned in and kissed Meg.

"Zak I-I love you too, and I'll never stop." Then we kissed each other, and it was like I was falling in love with her all over again.

"Aww. That's so cute." Roxanne said with a little baby voice.

"Yea I guess." Jeff was just trying to keep his cool anyone could see that.

Then Roxanne quickly kissed Jeff and say. "I love you Jeff.

"I love you too." Jeff said with a big red blush.

In all that happened to us and all the blood seen and shed, I was happy to see us all together and in a pack.

"So uh guys are we a pack now?"

"Yea, I guess." Meg said with a smile.

"You bet." Jeff had one of those idiotic smiles on his face.

"Okay so are we gonna take a break and then head out in an hour?" Jake asked.

"Oh yea, I forgot okay guys let's rest and once we're all ready we'll go."

"Got it." Everyone said with a smile.

So after the hour break we continued on our way for about five or six hours.

"Okay the sun's rising let's find a place to rest."

"Uh why can't we go on?" Jake asked with a confused face.

"Because if we carry on we'll sleep during the full moon." I was thinking if we rest now we will be really jumpy during the full moon.

"And??? Why do we have to travel at night?"

"The energy you guys get from the full moon will help us got further and have less breaks."

"I guess but we have more time during the day."

"Yes but all that time minus the few hour breaks; we'll be traveling about the same amount of time during the day and at night. Plus with all the energy we'll actually cover more ground tonight. And we've been up all night so we'll be able to sleep for the rest of the day."

"Uh y-yea okay."He looked pissed off he seemed like the kind of wolf to give orders instead of take them so I guess that pissed him off.

When we finally found another den we all went inside and got comfortable. I was just hoping that all the others would be able to sleep.

"See you guys tonight."

"Okay see you then."Roxanne answered.

Meg came and slept next to me and Roxanne slept next to Jeff. I waited til everyone was asleep before I finally dozzed off.
