#1 of Cry of the Rose
The second part of a Kung Fu Panda Story that I am working with Holidaypup. Hope you guys enjoy this is the first thing I have written.
It was a beautiful day in the Valley of Peace; a young Siberian Tiger clothed in the garb of a Kung Fu master sat meditating underneath the waterfall outside his village. White fur covered his body, black stripes racing throughout a sea of white; his body well-toned and strong from years of harsh and challenging training. He was a master of Kung Fu in his own right, both in his stance and in the way he carried himself...his lean strong form cutting a formidable visage to his companions and to all who knew him, his fierce blue eyes glimmering with the radiant fires of a determined warrior. It's a beautiful day today; Tiger thought to himself, perhaps I should take a walk to the city who knows maybe I might run into the Dragon Warrior while I'm there.
After gathering his supplies for the journey ahead, Tiger set out for the city. The sun shone through the trees casting a warm glow on the road, the dirt felt warm beneath Tiger's feet, the sky was a brilliant shade of blue with a few puffy clouds mixed in. A gentle breeze blew through Tiger's fur the cool relief it brought was quite refreshing as he had begun to sweat from the hot sun beating down upon him. Tiger smiled as the city came into view the setting sun casting a warm hypnotic glow upon it. Tiger approached the city gate, his mind racing with anticipation at the thought of reuniting with Master Shifu and the Furious Five. "Halt", yelled the guard outside the city gate. Tiger looked at him. He was a fox wearing light battle armor and he was armed with a spear. "Are you Master Tiger"? He asked in inquisitive tone of voice. "Yes I am", replied Tiger, "why do you ask"? "Because I'm the one who told him to wait for you", said a voice coming from behind Tiger. "It's been a long time Master Tigress", said Tiger bowing to his fellow master.
"It's good to see you again Master Tiger", replied Tigress returning the bow with a smile on her face. Tigress was the strongest member of the Furious Five, a master of Tiger-Style Kung Fu like Tiger; she was a fierce and determined warrior who kept her softer side hidden from other people. Just as beautiful as the last time I saw her, thought Tiger to himself, a tap on his shoulder from Tigress broke him out of his trance. "Master Shifu is waiting for you at the Jade Palace," "Well let's not keep him waiting, lead the way Tigress," replied Tiger stepping aside so that she could walk in front of him. While they were walking, Tigress told Tiger all about Po, the Dragon warrior and how he had defeated Tai-Lung and the fight against Shen. Wow if Po is good enough to defeat Tai-Lung and Shen I wonder if I'm good enough to defeat him in a match, thought Tiger to himself.
A scream from a nearby alleyway broke him out of his thoughts. "Tigress did you hear that?"
"Yeah sounds like someone's in trouble", replied Tigress "Keep your guard up". They walked into the alley way and found a merchant lying on the ground. "Hey are you alright? What happened?" asked Tigress helping the Vixen to her feet. "Thieves", she replied in a shaky tone of voice, "they threatened to kill me if I didn't give them my goods, then the next thing I know they knocked me out cold". "Tigress we've got company, called out Tiger. The thieves surrounded them, there were around twenty, they were armed with swords as well as spears that were now pointed at Tigress and Tiger.
