AN: This is a story I wrote late last night, I wanted to look it over this morning to see if I still wanted to post it and I did. This is a venting story, something I did to clear my mind and help me focus. I did not name or specify anything of my characters here (except the girl's hair color) for a reason. These two could be anyone, maybe even you. This story is a venting story, it has no connection to anyone I know. It is how I personally feel.

This is an insight to how my mind works, things spin round and round until finally the whole day, week, or even month crashes and it all becomes unbearable. Words, said in passing and with no real weight, suddenly become boulders running through a town, knocking over every confidence they find. Please do not repost.

He walked in with a groan, the day had been horrible. Locking himself out of his car when he got to work, then every single order going wrong, finally looking at his schedule for the week and noticing he was supposed to come in every night or graveyard shift at the restaurant was the last straw. He had already worked the same shift the week before, and even asked for a day off on Wednesday.

"Hey hot stuff how was your day?" She came bounding in, her work clothes already forgotten, wearing his favorite T-shirt and some shorts, half of her make-up missing.

"Is that my shirt that was laid out this morning?" He dropped his coat and started untying his shoes, setting them by the door before hanging up his keys. Her head tilted to one side as she answered nervously.

"Um the one on the bed post? Yea I thought you wore it yesterday. I wanted to be comfy."

"So did I. Guess not now though." His face angry as he made his way upstairs and started to toss things out of his way before he heard a soft whimper from behind him.

"Please be easy with that! It's fragile." She begged in that whiny voice. It was so irritating to hear after a day of nothing but whining from customers.

"Whatever, it should be put away." He tosses a soft stuffed doll across the room, its eyes scratched out and angry words written all over it. He scowled, wondering why that had been out and about. Looking back at the woman his face softened. She had been crying, tearing up as he tossed her things to and fro. He knew now she must have seen him pull in and tried to wipe away her tears and ruined make up.

"Fuck I'm sorry love."

"No I... I should have put it away." She slipped by him, picking up the doll and gently placing it with her others. Her body bent slightly as if she was trying to hide behind herself. He groaned, knowing she must have been waiting for him to get home and comfort her.

"What's wrong love?" He moved to her, gently placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Nothing." She jumped at his touch, sniffling lightly.

"Something, don't lie you know what Tyna said about that."

"I messed up dinner."

"We'll order Pizza"

"I passed out at the store."

"It's alright; it happens we're fixing it."

He pulls her close, laying her down with him on the bed as she started to cry, rambling about things she had messed up throughout the week. With every tear filled word from her he comforted and pet her. Eventually she just cried into him as he continued to whisper words of comfort and love. She finally fell asleep, her body heavy and his work shirt drenched in tears. He made sure she was completely out, tucking her in as he changed into just boxer with a sigh. He thought about ordering pizza. He noticed the doll from earlier and hesitated, knowing he shouldn't.

As he bent to pick it up he could see it was one of her therapy dolls. They were supposed to be happiness dolls, Tyna had told him they would help her deal with the mental anguish and trauma she had dealt with a long time ago by letting her have a secret confidant. She had destroyed every single one of the dolls, going through each one the same way. This one was no different. The eyes blacked out with marker, words covering the plastic face and body.

He could take no more, a frown on his face as he placed it gently behind her other stuffed animals and dolls. He knew she had such a long way to go. He heard a whimper and jumped, ready to comfort her at a second's notice. She had only rolled over, her hand looking for him. He quickly moved back into bed next to her, kissing her head as she unconsciously melted around him.

With a final sigh he realized that his day wasn't so bad. In her eyes, every day was a battle.
