#2 of Sachma!

This is the first of the Sachma! poems, using the word "Dandy" as the inspiration.

Dandy Lion

Once there was a lion, dandy;

With fur oh-so-very sandy.

Very loudly, he talked;

And all others, he mocked.

Came such a day,

When he went far away.

Though he -- none would miss,

All knew silence was bliss,

But they were unsettled by this,

Without him, all felt amiss.

They searched, reluctant,

For the dandy lion.

Nobody wept, 'cept one rodent.

Said he, "I'll keep tryin'"

All wondered: "Why? Why?"

"For the dandy lion, who would cry?"

"For that boisterous buffoon,

Who could possibly so-swoon?"

And answered, he, "A friend."

"He was mine, and I his, to the end."

The others thought this silly.

Indeed, even to be blarney.

"Yes," he admitted, "It is strange."

"But sometimes, love can derange."
