Chapter One

"Jordan Anthony Kensdale..."

The little paw stopped reaching for the box of fruit snacks. Jordan looked up at

his father. The little brown wolf with his short cut hair and blue eyes, the spitting image of his father, dropped his arms to his sides. He then frowned, crossed his arms and was immediately silenced by the stern expression on his father's face. His father lifted his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes.

"Anthony, you have two boxes of fruit snacks at home." Said his father.

"But...Billy has this one! The ones at home are not cool."

"Oh you got to be...."

Jordan, senior, sighed and kneeled down.

"I told you already, it doesn't matter what Billy has."

His son continued to frown. He ruffled his head fur and lifted him up, placing him in the

cart seat. After buckling him in, he grabbed his son's nose. Pulling his son's nose

towards him, he smiled at the frowning cub.

"Besides these give you cooties."

The cub blinked at him.

"...And if you eat too many all the girls will kiss you!"

The cub made a face as his father released his nose.

"You don't want cooties do you?"

"No."

"So then you don't need these fruit snacks right?"

"No."

Jordan chuckled and ruffled his son's hair. Quietly he thanked the heavens he is

only five and gulliable. Quickly he finished on the aisle and went to the next. He picked up a box of cereal and but it back after a frown from Anthony. He chuckled as they decided which one to buy. The wolf pair proceeded on with their shopping.

The next aisle wasn't empty like Jordan wished. An old cat lady stared at what he

thought was space. Her slow movements made him cringe at the thought of getting

around her. Another lady, a dog of some sort, held her little bundle of screaming joy and went on sorting through cans. A panther walked the aisle, a hand basket in tow. A jock, it appeared, his sweat pants decked out in the local college's colors. His chest was barely covered by what you could call a wife beater. He watched the panther some, his mind traced the muscles on his chest, imagined what lines where hidden from him. He chuckled as the panther made faces at every can of vegetables. Must be a freshman out on his own, he thought.

As Jordan was looking at whether to buy green beans or peas, a odd feeling over

came him. He turned around in time to get run over by a large black form. Jordan picked himself off the floor he glanced at what ran him over. The large black form stared down at him. Mentally he cursed, here I thought felines were supposed to be graceful. The panther was holding his sunglasses out for him.

"Ummm...thanks, I guess."

"You shouldn't take up the whole aisle."

With that the panther walked off. Jordan cursed quietly, putting his sunglasses back on. Taking up the whole aisle? He wasn't the muscle bound jerk wrapped up in a bursting at the seams wife beater and sweat pants. Sweat pants that he wanted to tear off and kiss the muscles underneath.

"Dad? What's a shelly bean?"

Snapped out of his thoughts from his son's question, he stared at the can he was

holding. When did he grab this can? What the heck is a shelly bean anyway? He put it

back on the shelf and took another can gave it to Jordan.

"I don't like peas!"

He sighed and once again continued his grocery shopping. He turned the aisle

and saw that panther again. The over built brute was kneeling down trying to decide

between cans of soup. As he stared at that tail he wished for a chance to run his paws up that black furred rump. Rub himself all over the chiseled black beast. He pushed his cart over to the soup section. Jordan begged for his favorite soup, which was right next to black beast. He groaned and knelt down. He felt as if he was being preyed upon as he grabbed the can of soup. A black paw grasped his, followed by a low grumble. Or was that a purr? He looked over and saw a pair of green eyes staring at him as if devouring his soul. He cleared his throat when he felt the black beast's claws against his skin. His vision became blurry as his sunglasses started to fog up.

"Hmm... I'll keep these." The black beast said as he took the sunglasses off the

over heated wolf.

"And you can keep the can, wolf."

The beast chuckled as he stood up and gave the wolf a view of his chest and then

walked out of sight again.

"Dad!"

"Huh? Whu Anthony?"

"I wanna go home!"

Snapped out his daze, he grabbed the can, put in the cart and headed for the

checkout. As he waited in line, he looked around for the beast. His mind wondered

about the last few thoughts, thoughts that had gotten him into trouble before. Paid for his groceries, placed them in his car and buckled Anthony in. The drive was the quietest he had ever had in a while, even with Anthony singing every song on the radio in his off key way. Pulling into the drive way he wondered why he was thinking this way again. With an unbuckled Jordan, he walked into his house, groceries in tow. He thought about Jordan. He couldn't have those thoughts again. He learned the hard way that he was a father first. Anthony ran off to his room and soon the sound of action figure battle was started. The last can put away; he sat on the couch. Later tonight, his ex-wife would be here to pick up Anthony for the weekend.

The brown wolf sighed, rubbed his forehead and reminisced. He met Katie from

a party with his friends. Soon they hit it off. He had been married to Katie for three

years. Jordan came into the world in their first year. He did everything he could for

them. He finished his schooling. Landed a job at a small firm in town. Yet it wasn't

enough for her. A scrawny wolf for his younger life, he finally managed to get a

swimmer's build through his high school years. His father was a huge wolf, but he didn't

get any of those genes. Katie wanted that; she wanted a jock, muscle head and all. So did Jordan.

They both lusted after those muscle hunks you would see in the movies or in

magazines. He kept his thoughts quiet, unlike her. She would frequently nag him to go

workout, take supplements and care more about his looks. He wasn't bad looking, he

thought, he was told that he had a young face. He at least kept his hair looking nice and proper. Just long enough to be fashionable but not enough to get odd looks from the office.

After awhile of the constant nagging, he started to stay at work late. His boss saw this as dedication and soon he was promoted. He kept to his long work hours, barely coming home except to sleep. Every morning he hugged and dressed his son, while she slept in. He would always leave just as she stirred, knowing that she cared for Anthony just as much as he did. Or so he thought.

Coming home at a normal hour for once, he found Anthony out in the living room

alone. The cub was on the couch crying and immediately ran to him. He carried him to

the bedroom and there was no sign of Katie. He sniffed about, something was off, and he just smelled it. He carried the cub to his office. He stopped in the doorway when he saw it. There it was, the huge legs of a muscle wolf against his desk and the thin legs of his wife wrapped around them.

"This is so cliché, Katie."

The pair stopped and looked towards the doorway. Jordan covered Anthony with his

coat. The muscle wolf picked up his pace again as he spoke.

"Your right, he is scrawny."

She moaned and laughed. Jordan just walked into his room, put the sniffling cub

down and packed a suitcase. He clasped it shut and the rest just flew by. He was in a

hotel with Anthony, in a courtroom, wrote a check, and watched Katie get into her car

and drive off as he held Anthony. Oddly enough, he was given custody, the house and

didn't have to pay much besides a new car for Katie. Last he heard she broke up with

that wolf and now dated a fox, a coyote then another wolf. He scratched his head

defiantly seeing a pattern, each of her dates was more muscled then the last. Least she stuck to canines.

The doorbell ringing snapped him out of his thoughts. He went to the door and

was greeted by a large husky. Good graces, where does she find these guys? Could he

get one?

"Katie told me to pick up the kid."

"The kid?" asked Jordan. "I'm not letting you take my son. Where is Katie?"

A loud yell from down the driveway answered that.

"Don't give me a hard time, Jordan." Katie snapped "Anthony! Mom is here!"

The cub came running down the hall. She scooped him up and then made her

way in to his room. While she helped him pack for the weekend, the husky sized Jordan

up. He growled and left the husky in the doorway. Soon afterwards, mother and son

came back.

"Bye Anthony. You be good boy for mommy, ok?"

"Ok, dad."

He ruffled his son's hair and watched them leave. When the car was out of sight,

he slammed the door. She was never going to change it seemed. Her choice of men was defiantly pleasing on the eyes, but he wagered that they weren't around for long.

He left the curses and insults that filled his mind behind, deciding to watch TV

instead. He flipped on the tube and was listening to the news. He sat on the couch and started munching on the bag of pretzels that Anthony left on the table. A segment about the local college game was on. Turns out its the first game of the season and the freshman are nervous. He glanced up and nearly choked. There! There it was! The black beast from the grocery store! And he was wearing his sunglasses! Look at him acting smug in my sunglasses he thought.

"Steven Denmark, huh? Well Steven, I'll be getting my sunglasses back."

He grabbed his keys and headed out the door. He started the car and the stopped.

What am I doing? It's just a pair of sunglasses. He can't go and get himself in trouble

just because some young panther took his sunglasses. He buckled himself in and backed out of his driveway. He's just going to get his sunglasses back. That's it. He's not going to touch the muscles of that black beast, caress his arms, massage his legs or kiss his chest. The blare of another car horn echoed through his ears.

"I got to get this panther out of my mind."

He pressed the gas and drove on. Soon he arrived at the stadium. Of course the

parking lot is full. After he found a spot near the back he parked his car. He made his

way through all the parked cars and covered his eyes from all the lights on the field.

Luckily the game didn't start yet. His eyes adjusted to the light he tried to scope out the beast. Eventually he picked out the beast on the sidelines. The beast sat with his

teammates, talking about who knows what. Jordan did notice one thing though. The

team had cheerleaders and most of the team had at least one girl on them. Well the

attractive ones anyways. Except for the beast. He didn't have a girl on him at all. Jordan watched for a second, as the beast gently turned down the advances of one of the girls.

"No, it can't be that easy." Remarked Jordan.

Then again he thought, he was purring back at the store. Or was it growling? He

didn't remember. Making his way over to the team side, he caught the attention of what he assumed was a teacher.

"Where are you going, sir?"

"I'm just going to see the team."

"Do you have any relations with the team?"

Jordan looked over and waved his hand at one of the girls.

"Hey sweetie, Daddy's here!"

One of the cheerleaders, luckily a wolf, waved back, though unsure.

"Oh, your daughter...sorry sir."

With that the teacher walked away. Jordan sighed with relief. This is ridiculous,

he thought. He couldn't help but feel like some kind of stalker. Pushing his thoughts

aside he walked up the team's bench. The black beast sat on the bench, looking away

from the rest of his teammates. Luckily he was wearing those sunglasses. Jordan got

behind him and quickly pulled them off the black beast and returned them to his own

muzzle.

"I'll be taking these back now."

"What? Who?"

The black beast turned around.

"Oh, it's the wolf from the store."

"Is that it? I'm just 'the wolf', Steven? Anyway I'll be going back home now."

"Wait!"

Jordan spun on his heel and looked over his shoulder.

"I need those sunglasses."

"What?"

"I need those! They are...lucky."

Jordan turned around and stared at Steven.

"Look I passed my math mid-term, got my own dorm."

"Big deal, you studied and they had more dorms then students."

"They got that annoying cheerleader off my back."

"Wait...you want her to leave you alone?"

"She's just... annoying."

"She's a cheerleader! She is supposed to be like that."

"And dumber then a brick?"

"Well whatever. I'm taking them back."

"Come on man. I'll pay you for them."

"These things are expensive. Name brand and all that mess."

Jordan held out his hand waiting. He looked at the beast and smiled. He took in

the sight of this beast in his uniform. Looking up to take in the beast as whole, his eyes met with the beast's. The beast noticed this and then smiled.

"How about we make a deal?"

"A deal? Look, just give them back."

"Now just listen. Let's bet the luck on the game."

"The game?"

"Yes. Look my team wins, I keep the glasses."

"Please, what could a college jock possible have that I would want?"

The beast grinned and licked his lips. He growled softly and flexed.

"My body."
