A brief little update on the character's before the story continues

Time had gone by since school had resumed after the holiday break and the two boys revealed their affection for one another to the rest of the school. Their classmates had been nothing short of supportive and those who did have objections to such a union, seemed to be keeping their peace. Jamie was still feeling somewhat ashamed for his past behavior and the fact that Vincent had been waving their relationship about like a flag had only made the situation worse.

Vincent's dealings had landed him a spot in the election for student council. His adamant actions and speeches throughout the school had gotten him a lot of recognition from students to the point that even the toughest homophobic students didn't dare shun him for fear of retaliation from the rest of the student body. However, now that Vincent was a possible candidate for a position of esteem at the school, a small group of parents had come forward with concerns. Jamie's fears were just beginning.

Dennis had returned to his life of living with both his step-father Crispin, and his step-brother Curtis. They shared an uneasy truce for the time being. Dennis was not allowed to leave the house without his attire being approved by the old wolf. He was not allowed to see any doctors either unless Crispin was present the entire time however, court mandated therapy was still to continue as usual.

Curtis was starting to feel bad for Dennis. Almost all of his old friends had moved away, leaving Curtis to an empty town with only the older guys at the grocery store, where both boys were employed, to keep him company. Being alone seemed to bring the boy closer to his younger sibling out of need for a peer.

Sebastian was always the 'more liked' of the pair. His older brother Hym was a little brutish and far less cunning and witty. By the time Sebastian had graduated high school, he'd already made thousands playing the stock market using his father's accounts. At the same time, Hym was dropping out of college due to failing grades and a general lack of interest.

Hym's melancholy attitude had led him deep into a bottle and Sebastian's money and interest in an adventurous lifestyle had sent the pair on more late nights than either of them could even attempt to remember. Despite bringing his brother along and giving him everything he asked for, Sebastian was still far from understanding just how bad Hym's depression was really getting.

Nester had his hands full with a number of issues regarding his family's affairs. His older brother Gaspin was having nightmares about his son, July, while his cousin Remus was pleading for a way to reconnect with his son, Arthur, who had escaped a life of stardom and fame and had fled from the limelight.

Meanwhile, Nester was getting frightening letters from Dennis and worried concerns from Jamie's mother, Diana. It seemed Nester was getting at least two emails a day involving family concerns. He wanted to help, but it was becoming overwhelming how so much seemed to fall upon his shoulders.
