Blue jays, robins, falcons, owls, hawks, eagles. I envy them they are not bound to the earth like the rest of us humans are. Excuse me I was just thinking out loud. My name is Eros, I know weird name but I like it. I have for all my life felt like I was something different then a human. Throughout my life I have felt wings on my back with a wolf's tail extending from my tailbone. This has caused me to only have three friends who feel the same thing I do with the phantom limbs.

My three friends names were solice, Daniel, and Si-ann. The only ones we ever had there for us was each other. I never knew my parents. So I was living with Daniel as he was the closest thing to a brother for me. We would do what any other teenagers would do watch TV, play the xbox, and the computer.

One day while we were all at school our hands started to hurt. When we looked at our hands Solice and I had fur on our hands. Solice had scarlet fur growing while I had black fur growing. Daniel and Si-ann unlike Solice and I, had scales on their hands. Daniel's scales were a copper color. While Si-ann's were cyan, ironic right. Well when we noticed this we looked at each other and realized what was going on. We just ran out of the classroom, despite the teacher's orders, and out of the school into the forest nearby.

The four of us eventually stopped in a clearing, some ten minutes later. The fur on solice and I's hands had climbed all the way to our chests and was starting to progress to our heads. Daniel and Si-ann's scales had reached their chests as well as their heads. Daniel's breastplates were a sunset red. Si-ann's breastplates were golden.

When we stopped there was a long silence when I finally decided to say something.

"Are you guys thinking the same thing as me?"

"Is it that Daniel and I are turning into dragons and you and Solice are turning into gryphons." Si-ann said

"Well if we are truly dragons and gryphons that would explain the phantom limbs we have felt throughout our lives." Daniel said almost questionably.

"It would really explain the phantom limbs."I said

As I finished that sentence the transformation sped up exponentially. The fur started to just explode from my body as my feet changed to paws and my hands turned into talons. I soon felt a surge of pain on my face as my teeth fell out one by one. I couldn't believe it when my face started pushing out and becoming harder until I had a beak. My wings burst from my back, they were a dark grey. I fell to the ground in mind-numbing pain. As I laid there I started to lose consciousness. But before I did I saw the others had finished their transformations. Solice's wings had just burst from her back. Her wings were a brilliant lime green. Then I backed out.

When I came too, I saw I was in a white room with Solice. I looked around the room to get familiar with my surroundings. The room itself was pretty bland as it had three white walls and a clear wall looking into another room. The ceiling was a skylight, I was able to see the night sky and the moon. I looked into the room beside mine and Solice's. In the room was a copper and red dragon and a cyan and gold dragoness curled up next to each other. As I was looking at the two, I realized they were Daniel and Si-ann. I was tired from the transformation, so I laid down next to Solice and closed my eyes. I fell asleep wondering whats going to happen now to my friends and I.
