#2 of Jason & The Unicorn

Here's chapter 2 of Jason & the Unicorn. Looks like Jason is having a tough time without Alyssa around, huh? Once again, this was written by Tinaski and edited by TheBlackMarten Please leave a comment below. I'd love to hear what you think of this story. It'd mean so much!

Chapter two: Treading Water on Dry Land

Without Alyssa around, Jason was a man without a cause, simply wandering to and fro, seeing to various tasks that needed doing around his house and at work just to keep himself busy. Thinking that this was just how his life had been before she had entered his life only made the pain worse. The young man wandering how he ever managed to bear it before. Sure, for one or two days he was okay, but after the third her absence had really started to bite. He wasn't that clingy of a guy, he didn't even care if it was her mating season and she was being ridden all the way to nirvana by some just-out-of-heaven stallion, he just wanted to know she was okay. In the past year and a half he had never gone as long as this without seeing her, and she would at least send him a mental message every now and then to let him know how she was getting on. It was almost like he was going through withdrawal from her. She was always in his mind no matter how hard he tried to ignore it.

For the second night in a row the young man found himself lying alone in his bed, devoid of any clothes as he attempted to relieve some of the unbearable frustration that had been ceaselessly coursing through his body as of late. His body lay outstretched, his fist clenched around his hard cock, pumping it vigorously with his eyes clenched tightly shut as tried to picture the young Unicorn mare he had become so fond of within his mind. His imagination had been getting more vivid in his fantasies about his white haired friend, barely any restraint left in his hidden desires in regards to what he wanted to experience with the beautiful equine. He could practically feel Alyssa's soft hair against his pale skin as he pictured his hips pushing his pulsing manhood into her dripping female flower.

He envisioned her there in front of him, the tighter he closed his eyes and ignored the sounds of passing traffic and the general sounds of night-time insects from outside his window, the clearer the image of her became. Jason could only attempt to imagine the way the mare would whinny as he pushed myself inside her for the first time. He wouldn't want to hurt her- he'd be gentle, regardless of whether she was as innocent as she looked or not. Their first time should be slow, sensual, romantic, just getting used to each other's tastes. His ears were craving to hear the sounds he knew he could draw from her. His cock craved to feel her convulse around it, her sexual needs brought to bear upon the young male. To be covered in her wet warm juices as she climaxed upon him, too be connected to her in the deepest way physically possible, there was nothing else he wanted more.

He came on the spot in strong white spurts, each jet arching slightly in the air to land on a different section of his chest. The warm sexual fluid drizzled over his well-defined chest as the force of his orgasm overwhelmed his mind for a few moments. His breath heaving after the intense mental visions that he'd been seeing, he reached to the small set of drawers next to his bed, upon which rested a box of Kleenex. Grabbing a tissue he quickly wiped away the evidence, although to his embarrassment he had made quite mess of himself so he had to reach for a replacement at least twice before he was finished.

He felt sick to his stomach at what he had just done.

What would Alyssa say if she knew what he was thinking about her? Could she actually force her way into his head and find out the truth for herself without him saying anything? If so then he was already beyond hope of redemption.

The white Unicorn had trusted him with all her closest secrets up to now, valuing his friendship immensely and yet here he was in his room picturing, himself defiling her while she cried out for him not to stop. She'd probably think he had become a disgusting excuse for a human, no he was sure she would see him in that light. It was bad enough that he was having a sexual fantasy about something that wasn't human, but for it to be with her as well?

Jason knew that his cause was hopeless even now. So what if by some miracle she wasn't disgusted by it, was he really the kind of male that she would look at as a mate? Alyssa probably had someone else she was interested in already, and countless more males that were interested in her. That sleek body and healthy, silk-like fur, it would be impossible for her not to be noticed by every stallion she passed. The mare would be so much better off with one of them, a male with the power to weave a path through the world with his own magic, providing her with whatever she so desired at a moment's notice, than with a runt of a human like him. He wasn't especially rich, true he didn't have financial problems like so many other people, but he could never afford to support the journeys that they had been on with his own wages, and no matter how hard he worked and no matter how hard he tried, he would never be allowed to keep her if anyone discovered she was a Unicorn. The best case scenario would be for someone to see him apparently talking to thin air, whereupon he would be sent off to a mental asylum. Someone of her same species would be infinitely better for her, someone who she could live with forever without having to worry about mortgage payments and tax returns, someone who her parents would accept and like for who they are, and who would be capable of treating her with the great respect and care she deserved.

On a far more childish note, he also knew with some certainty that stallions were hung far better than any male human, clearly dashing any hopes he had of proving himself to her that way.

Jason was actually having a hard time even understanding his strange obsession with Alyssa. It wasn't like he had ever found horses sexual before, or even thought of any animal in that light for that matter. Up until recently, that heart of his carnal desires had been this dark-skinned girl with a really nice ass that happened to work in the same building as him. He'd actually got so far as to get a blowjob off her during her lunch break, but she was nothing if not a free spirit; the kind of girl who would never be tied down to one man unless he was really worth it. He was about to make his move on her, but on that very day he had bumped into Alyssa, and suddenly his priorities had been completely changed. Thus far, he had not been permitted to see more of her kind, the white mare explaining that it was probably for the best, but he doubted he'd ever be attracted to any of them in the way that he was to her either. He'd tried picturing different unicorns in his head, changing the fur color changing her height or the shape of her horn, but he never once found it arousing unless it was undoubtedly her he could see. It wasn't her body or her species he was in love with, it was simply her as a whole. It was the way her humour made him laugh, the way she knew just what to say to him when he'd had a bad day and the way that just the sight of her made gave him butterflies in his stomach, even after all the time they had been together already.

After he was cleaned up as best he could do he grabbed some clothes, namely some jeans lying in the bottom of his dresser and a black T-shirt with a large yellow ball with red starts on it, the word TeamFourStar emblazoned above it. On the back were two piercing white eyes and a pair of red lips, a speech bubble below them simply saying in a creepy typeface 'byeee...'.

Not really paying too much attention to his appearance, he quickly pulled his clothes on, unconcerned with his disheveled appearance. Reaching the bottom of the stairs, he slipped on a pair of white trainers absentmindedly, his thoughts already running forwards after Alyssa without him.

"Jace?" came the voice of his mother, a middle aged woman with chestnut brown hair who had looked up from the book she was reading momentarily, "If you're going out could you pick some eggs please? I want to make some pancakes for dinner and we're all out."

He half smiled at her, understanding what she was asking and yet barely registering it, "Yeah. No problem, but it might be a bit late for breakfast when I get back."

"Thanks honey!" she replied, her attention already recaptured by the book she was reading.

Jason was glad that his mother had a tendency to be a bit oblivious at times, he really didn't want to have to explain himself at the moment.

As he closed the door behind him on his way out, another thought crossed his mind that he couldn't believe hadn't occurred to him before.

His parents.

From what he gathered in his talks with Alyssa, her own parents were absolutely against unicorns even making contact with humans, let alone having intimate relationships with them. But ignoring this problem for them moment, even if her parents could ever accept him, how would his own parents react to the thought of him dating a creature they didn't believe existed. It would be like announcing to them that he was going out with a Saturday morning cartoon character, they would neither believe it nor give consent to it if he managed to prove she was real. After all, she wasn't human. He was pretty sure it was illegal to even ask for it actually. But that was with animals. Alyssa wasn't an animal; an animal was a creature incapable of demonstrating human traits, such as understanding language and showing emotions just the same as humans. For all intensive purposes she showed just as much evidence that she was a person as any human he'd known, in fact she was probably a better person than most people as she had no desire for wealth, money having no meaning to the white mare. Yes, she was definitely a person, just differently shaped, that's all.

He frowned to himself as his brain once again came full circle and brought him back to the depressing reality that he started from. It wouldn't matter, morals and acceptance be damned. As if she could ever see him in that light when there were far better examples of her own species to choose from.

Still, if Alyssa ever did fall in love with him, it wouldn't matter what anyone else thought. He just wouldn't tell them, for all he cared his friends and family could think he was single forever. One perk of being a loner was that for the most part people tended to give him plenty of space unless they thought something was wrong with him or they really needed his help for something. It wasn't really something that Jason felt particularly bad about either, more like he noticed it like someone would notice a co-worker always wore the same shirt. It was more inconsequential to him than it would be for most, as he had a magical Unicorn that kept him company once his work was finished.

Jason couldn't help but pause in his stride down the drive-way towards the gates of his house as that thought passed through his head, realizing just how insane it actually sounded. He resumed his pace a few seconds later, shrugging it off as being a trait of his new life.

Alyssa was the only one in his mind that mattered. She would always come before anyone else, regardless what they had to say about him or her.

Deciding to try and get his head back in order before he went to pick up the eggs his mum wanted him to buy, Jason chose to walk by the pasture on the way. The journey would be longer, but it was his day off today so it wasn't like he had anywhere else to go. It was a beautiful warm mid-summer evening with still a few hours to go before the sun set, the temperature just warm enough to prevent you from getting cold while out running. The young man could only imagine what the nearby fields would look like when they were lit up with fireflies, but as was his luck, he had never been out on the right night to see them so far. He hoped to be lucky enough to see them at least once with his own eyes.

After spending a few minutes just letting his mind go where it wanted, he had to admit that he did feel more at ease. Remembering that he had been asked to get something by his mum before he left the house, he started heading in the general direction of a nearby store his family frequented. It wasn't too far, and it wasn't one of those massive chain store companies that ran it, which meant it never got too busy in there either. It was just a kilometer or so away from where he was now, and he ran 12 kilometers almost daily to keep in shape.

He had got about halfway there when he heard his name being called by someone close by.

"Jason!" A female voice cried, for a fraction of a second Jason's heart leaping as he hoped to see Alyssa standing there when he turned around. He caught himself from putting any further hope into that line of thought as he remembered that Alyssa spoke through telepathy, she couldn't form human words with her vocal chords. Sighing inwardly, he instead spun run to find a girl he knew only too well: Hayley Johnson.

Hayley Johnson was a girl that could be described as every jock's dream, and Jason was guilty of having dirty thoughts about her when he was younger, but had quickly grown out of them even before he reunited with Alyssa. Appearance-wise, she was about five foot three, sporting brown hair with blonde highlights that was cut to just below her shoulders. Her breasts were big and plump, wobbling back and forth inside a white t-shirt in a manner only possible when the fulsome pair lacked a bra, while a view from behind would reveal that she also had an almost heart-shaped bottom, with soft cheeks that looked to have been squeezed many times from how comfortable she was showing them off with a pair of very tight shorts. The brazen display might have had a hypnotizing effect on a younger version of Jason, but there was a reason why he grew out of her very quickly: she was probably one of the most shallow, air-headed girls he'd ever met.

Her idea of heaven was a buying a designer dress the day it came out so that it remained in fashion for longer, or spending a full week going to frat parties each and every night. Jason knew exactly how she behaved around boys, and had been expecting this to come sooner or later (thanks to a warning text from a friend) but really didn't want to have to put up with it tonight. Her dangerously low-cut shirt that showed off as much of her mammary flesh as possible right in front of his face didn't even phase him as he did his best to smile convincingly and see what she wanted.

"Hey," He responded weakly.

"How have you been? I haven't seen you in ages! Where are you going, huh?" She asked jogging in place. It was sort of irritating Jason. Her constant up and down bouncing was like a child insistent on being paid attention to. It actually wasn't that far off the truth when he thought about it.

He shrugged in what he hoped was a non-committal manner, "Nowhere. Well, I'm just out for a walk right now. I need to get going though, I promised my mom I'd get her some eggs while I was out, and I don't want to get an angry phone call if I take too long."

Her entire body seemed to perk up the moment she heard that he wasn't heading back home straight away, "Great! I can go with you! I needed to pick some things up myself anyway."

"Sure..." He said quietly, his smile tightening as he turned away. He had hoped that she would just go away by herself, as he wasn't the type of douchebag who would just tell her to get lost but he still would not say that he enjoyed her company all that much.

They walked to the grocery store in a remarkably short time, which also felt remarkably grating for the young man forced to listen to the endless stream of rubbish that Hayley insisted on spouting during the entire trip. Every minute they were walking, Hayley rambled on about some pointless subject that Jason really could not care less about. In fact he was so bored by the time they came within viewing distance of the store that he had lost the ability to distinguish one sentence from another, only picking up a few words here and there as best could without passing out from sheer disinterest. From what he gathered, she seemed to be making endless comparisons between herself and some well-known celebrity model; though he hardly found this surprising it was still rather distasteful in his opinion.

Taking a quick look to his side at her while they walked, he began to wonder what he ever saw in her. She was nothing like Alyssa in any single aspect. There was not a single original thought within her head, only concerned with what other people thought of her and what was considered modern. If there was anyone else around, he just might have bet them that Hayley would think that monogamy was a kind of wood, as it was he just let he talk and pretended to listen. Every single topic seemed to come back to how something looked or how expensive something else was, not a single exception amongst them. Then again, he guessed that it could have been spoon fed to her via her apparent addiction to those celebrity gossip shows. It seemed like every new day brought a new scandal to be pasted all over the internet, everybody complaining about their own privacy rights and yet demanding to know everything that a celebrity did from brushing his teeth to who he slept with. Hypocrisy was clearly a word most people hadn't been taught in English lessons for a while.

Jason was so out of it that he managed to reach the store, buy the eggs he wanted, hand of the money and count the change, and was actually halfway home again by the time that he snapped out of it and looked at his watch, almost surprised to find the small shopping bag in his hand.

"So Jason," Hayley purred at him as they stood waiting at the roadside for a break in the traffic. Jason noticed out of the corner of his eye that she had put the magazine she had presumably bought from the store under her arm for the moment. "It's been really lonely at my house since I got my own place, I could use some company."

Jason raised an eyebrow, knowing where this was heading already, "Could always get a cat."

Her laugh was that of a hyena, and it made his ears hurt to listen to it. "I was thinking more of a night-time companion." She teased stepping forward and putting her hand on Jason's shirt. "Bed gets awfully cold, and I bet you could warm me up real good, cutie."

Jason stepped back out of her reach calmly, resisting the very strong urge to roll his eyes in exasperation in front of her. He was sick of being seen as some prize amongst the women at work, simply because he was the only one who bothered to work out regularly, and furthermore he wouldn't have picked Hayley if she was the last female anything on Earth.

"Sorry, but I have a girlfriend already. You'll have to find someone else."

"Oh." Hayley said in a disappointed tone, lowering her hand back to hang limply at her side. "Sorry, I didn't know about that."

She then paused for a second, stretching the awkwardness as she presumably attempted to form some kind of response to being turned down. Jason doubted that I happened often, as most guys weren't that opposed to getting easy sex, and Hayley had easy written all over her.

"What's her name?" she eventually replied, catching Jason off guard.

"Ah, Alyssa." he answered, beginning to walk forwards and away from her now that the traffic had stopped.

Much to his displeasure, she followed close behind. "Oh, did she go to highschool with us? I don't remember anyone having that name back then."

Jason knew better than to give to much away, knowing how poorly she kept secrets from at least two of his close male friends who had been her boyfriend at some point. It must have been a result of the gossip rags she constantly read, but if there was something that she found interesting, she wouldn't be quiet until everyone she knew had been informed of it as well.

"No, she didn't." he replied flatly.

"How'd you meet then?" She asked keeping step with him while doing nothing to hide her barely concealed breasts as they bounced moronically in front of her.

Jason squinted for a moment as the dimming light caused a lorry driver just passing by to suddenly turn his lights on, stinging his eyes for a moment before he continued. "Arggh, um, yeah. We met back when we were kids, and I met up with her again a year or so ago We kind of hit it off from there." It wasn't a lie. It was the truth. It was better to give her some true facts that would mislead her rather than attempt to come up with a new lie on the spot.

"What's she look like?" the annoying persitant Harley questioned.

"She's white." he stated bluntly. "Platinum blonde hair, she's in good shape, and, um, she's just beautiful I guess. I'm not really sure how to describe her other than I like her." "Cool," She muttered, clearly jealous of this 'other woman' he was outlining. "I should get going- Keep in touch though Jason."

Jason waved to her as she began walking off in another direction, already doing his best to try and ignore their conversation entirely. He had no intention of 'keeping in touch' at all, she was probably the single worst candidate for a girlfriend imaginable. He had once heard a story about her from one of the delivery girls who supplied his workplace, who had happened to go to school with her, and hadn't really believed it up until now. Apparently, she had managed to keep two steady boyfriends going for months without either suspecting anything, until one night she first slept with one and then invited the other back to her house for the night, only to be found out when her first partner followed her to return her jacket that she'd left behind.

Still he was polite enough not to mention this out loud, as having not been there himself, he wasn't about to point fingers without anything to back up his statement. "Yeah , sure." He half-mumbled blandly, no longer caring whether she heard him or not.

The young human trudged home with his heart once again sinking right down into his worn shoes. Every new thought only brought back the pain that not having Alyssa around caused him; he wanted to go and sit in the heavenly green meadows hidden within that breathing echo (pocket dimension kind of thing) in the park, at least there he could clear his mind for a while, but without the white Unicorn next to him he knew that he wouldn't even be able to find it. Alyssa still hadn't been able to awaken his sealed magic yet, the spell over the entire race being to firmly in place for even a single individual to be freed from it.

Every single place that he tried to picture in his mind to attempt to push thoughts of her away only supplied him with endless memories of their time together, as every setting was a place he'd been with her on their seemingly endless outings across the planet, ignoring all sense of distance in a heartbeat with her potent magic to carry them from place to place in less time than it took to think about it. Jason arrived home some time later, with the journey once again lost as a hazy blur while his body guided him back to his house automatically, the path long since embedded into his subconscious. Opening the front door, he found his mother waiting for him in the kitchen after washing some plates that had been left on to soak with some detergent earlier in the day.

"Have a nice run?" She asked setting down the plates on the table and picking up a new book that she had started since this morning. Jason doubted that she had read all of the first one, as he had read it first to try and get his mind off Alyssa, and found it increasingly dull as it went on; he doubted this new one would be any better.

"I didn't go for a run." he grumbled tiredly, putting the eggs away in the fridge as he did so.

"Oh, you could have got them after you ran if it would have been easier." she remarked, pausing for a moment to turn the page of her book while she lent against the kitchen counter idly. "Are you going back out again?"

"No, not now." Jason replied, not in the mood for another conversation after the one with Hayley left a nasty taste in his mouth, "It's already getting dark so I think I'll let it pass until tomorrow." "If you weren't out on a run then where'd you go? You took a long time if you were just going to the supermarket."

Jason rubbed his fingers over his temples, anticipating his mother's reaction to what he was about to say.

"I bumped into Hayley Johnson on the way there, and we ended up walking there together and most of the way back." He braced himself for his mother's reaction.

"Oooh" his Mom teased in a sing-song sort of voice. "Ooo la la. This I have to hear!"

She had known about his crush on her back when he was in high school, and just like any annoying parent, she had perfectly vivid memory of all the embarrassing details that a growing teenager wished to forget. He rolled his eyes in an irritated fashion as he began to explain himself to the over-imaginative woman.

"It's not like that mom, I'm not interested in her anymore. I've told you that before, I'm sure of it."

*Besides, my standards don't sink that low* he thought to himself, wisely preventing it from passing his lips.

"Is that so?" his mother enquired further, her dark green eyes looking curiously at her son as she tried to piece together what exactly had preoccupied him. Jason noted that she had put her book to the side for the moment, meaning he was unlikely to escape any time soon. "Anyone you do like?"

"No." Jason lied, the back of his ears turning red slightly.

His mom noticed this instantly. "Aha! There is someone you like! Is it who you've been spending all your time with? Does she go out for runs with you? Or have you just been sneaking out to see her in private?"

Jason nodded, knowing better than to try and defend himself against his mother. She knew all his characteristic twitches and mannerisms down to a tea, so trying to deny it would have been pointless. "Her name is Alyssa, but it's nothing serious at the moment. To be honest, even though I've spent so much time with her, I don't think she even sees us as a couple or even thinks of us becoming something like that."

"Did you two get in a fight or something?" his mother asked politely, worry clearly identifiable in her voice as she probed for more information, "The past few days you've been shut up in your room virtually around the clock. Your Dad and I have been getting worried about you, and I'm sure we aren't the only ones. It's unlike you to be so unsocial, and there hasn't been any letters of complaint from work, so I doubt you're worried about your job."

"No, we didn't fight she's just went to go and see her eld - her Grandparents." he replied, only managing to catch himself just a little too late. He winced slightly as his mother responded to his verbal slip immediately.

"Were you about to say elders? What kind of a word it that to use for her grandparents? It sounds like something from a fantasy game or a role-playing-game. This girl isn't part of some freaky cult is she, like those people at the shop in Barker Street that sit around playing card games all day? You're not going to become one of those social recluses who just obsesses over fictional creatures are you?"

He shook his head in response, laughing to himself at how close to the mark she had come without knowing it. "No, she isn't. I have no intention of joining a cult, now or ever, don't worry mom. And that card game those people play is called magic the gathering, they just take it far too seriously for my liking."

"Just checking, I do watch Dateline, you know." she responded.

And you wonder why I've never invited a girl back here before, Jason thought to himself, wondering how she could even consider that to be helpful in real life situations.

In the end, after carefully ducking a few questions and giving her enough straight answers to keep her satisfied, she went about making dinner for the pair of them. It passed quickly, not much being said as she had turned the TV onto her favourite channel, so her attention was elsewhere from the start. As for the young human, he simply ate in silence, simply doing what his body knew to do in the vain hope that it would somehow put his thoughts at ease. He couldn't even remember how long it had been since he'd finished by the time his mom asked to take the plate away from him to wash it.

Afterwards he just went to bed, too tired to change and too depressed to care, he simply got in bed and pulled the covers over himself, hoping that Alyssa would come back soon and rid him of this awful loneliness. Perhaps this was why some men preferred to horse around with many girls instead of sticking to one, because it was too painful to get too attached?
