A Task
A poem I wrote
A task, a duty, a responsibility.
Truth, Morality and Logic
Supremacy enriched by agony
Law is your existence
Fact and fiction are never in black and white
Existence and demise can never be pure and humble
Instinct consuming Logic
Blood lust stabbing your sanity
Money is what speaks in our mind
Thrill is what seeks out our soul
Danger is what grasps our adrenaline
A nonentity, a measly lackey
Tail rigged
Fangs clenched closed
Vision unclear and polluted
Period inching more rapidly and verdict becoming slimmer
A paw nearly chocking the trigger
Hushed within a structure
Life's path in an instant
A stirring mark in a crosshair
Lined up in a red cross
Destiny in the hand of reflex
Bang, a blast, a flash, a sudden jolt
All in the motion to slay the mark
Clamour, panic, fear and desperation
With it arose sheer amusement
A venture forever a scar
