The Story of Sinyster Plague -PROLOGUE-

Story by DemonSnake on SoFurry

Ok so this was the basis of Sinyster's story that I wrote about 3-4 years ago (so I was like, 15-16 or so). I could read through it and possibly edit some stuff but I'm lazy and I still like how I worded it. Btw, if anyone wants to do a recording of them reading it in Sinyster's voice, do let me know :D I'd love to hear how you feel his voice should sound.

Birth of a Demon

"Look at him...that marking..."

"It's the mark of a demon...!"

All these noises...what were they...? I don't understand...where are they coming from? What do they mean?!

Those were my first thoughts after I was born, already understanding more than I should have at that moment. My birth was important to the entire pack; the pack of Plague. I was the alphas' first and only child, and I was many weeks past due...Most believed I wouldn't make it, or that I would die soon after...but what no one expected...was for a demon to inherit my body inside the womb, corrupting my soul...becoming...me.

After a light uproar over my birth, everything went dead quiet as everyone in the pack stared in curiosity at the newborn pup. I didn't understand what was happening...but that's when I opened my eyes...opened them to see scared...horrified faces of my family...Why were they looking at me that way? What were these utterances of "demons" and "death?" Before I could register anything, my mother pulled me close to her warm body, wanting to protect me from the few angered faces coming about. Did something go wrong? Was I not supposed to be there? Someone...help me understand! I don't get it!

"Stay away from my son! He can't be any different than any of you!" came a feminine voice from behind me, which I quickly came to recognize to be my mother's. "So what if he has a strange marking?!"

Tears were flowing from her eyes, I found out, for they splashed slightly onto my forehead and nose. Why were you so sad mama...? Did I hurt you...?

"Consult the elders, Ether. They'll decide what our son is..." came my father's voice. His voice seethed with anger...and something else...something I couldn't make out no matter what I did.

What were the elders? Who were they? Am I something bad? Am I...evil?

"Mama? W-what's going on...?" I ask, getting startled by my voice. It sounded dark even though it was so light. That's when she sobbed loudly and pulled me closer to her body, nuzzling me softly.

"Oh, Sinyster...I don't know...no one does..." she whispers softly in response, thus also giving me my name. Ironically, it fits me perfect later on...

That's when I'm brought to the elders, who spend what felt like hours examining me from head to toe, trying to determine what I was...if anything but a wolf. After awhile, I was beginning to become fed up with the entire examination and latched my small fangs onto one of the elder's nose, a ferocity in my eyes so intent with killing desire, it scared him to retreat behind a tree. I sit there, snarling my head off, the markings under my eyes glowing brightly, which causes a ruckus around us. That's when the elders give their decision...

"This pup...is not a pup. He's a demonic entity. That pup is an abomination! He'll bring death to us all!" one barks out, silencing everyone.

A demon...? But...what did I do wrong? This can't be right...it's not fair! Who are they to judge me based on my reaction and a marking?! I didn't do anything bad! Why...why must I be called a demon...? I was just born...I can't be...I can't...

"He should be killed imediately, Cynic and Ether...for the safety of the packs of Plague. He can't be allowed to live...! His power will awaken eventually and we'll all be in great peril..."

"H-he's just a pup though High Elder...he could change his fate...Please...don't make me kill my only pup...Please Santher...Please..." my mother pleads, hoping to spare my life.

"Ether, it's for the greater good. We can't risk this pack when we're so few in numbers. We're the last royal family alive...I know it's hard on you but it has to be done..." retorts the elder, not giving in to my mother's pleas.

"Santher...just give him a chance...Please..! I promise I'll make Sinyster a strong and kind pack member...just give him...and me...a chance to prove he's not the demon you believe he is..." she begs. That was the first sign of true parental love I'd ever see...my mother begging for my life...hoping to save me even though the odds were stacked against her.

"Ether...the de...Sinyster...I see a grave future for him...one that will span on for centuries past our own...and part of it shows how he basically destroys the family lineage...we'll die out because of him unless he's done in now...Please...don't risk it just because he's your son...do what's right for everyone and not just one individual..." he said. How he could predict my future, I do not know, but what he predicted seemed ludicris. Centuries? That's physically impossible for anyone to accomplish...

As the conversation continued on for the next few hours, I sat there watching them both, a slow, boiling hatred forming for the elders. They held too much power and control...and only one of them even had so much as a speck of worthy intelligence to speak what they preached...They needed to learn their place...But as I prepared to leap out at the one talking to my mother, she turned to me and licked my nose, taking me by surprise. I wasn't expecting it at all, nor did I understand what it was for until the moment later.

"You're able to live with us Sinyster...You're one of the pack of Plague," she said softly with a smile that quickly warmed my heart. I never thought I could be as happy as I was right then, for I quickly put my forepaws on her muzzle and licked between her eyes.

"I love you Mama!" I bark out happily, which brings a slightly startled expression in the elder's eyes, who was watching me intently. That's when I noticed something in the pack: everyone had twisting designs over their fur, a few shades darker than the main fur coat. I glance down at myself at that revelation to find out I had nothing but a solid fur colour of almost pure black...
