Diary of the weaker one...
I've noticed all my time off-writing sort of made my style change. In light of that (And thanks to a suggestion from MechaChick), I've decided to make some short stories.
However, I want to ready up so I can rewrite and continue what was my very first (and longest!) story and actually bring it to a conclusion.
If anyone who reads this followed me in my time in AGNPH, I'm talking about Leon's story.
This is the first of a series of short "stories" (though this isn't really a story) that will set up and elaborate on a number of things I felt I never gave too much time to.
The story as a whole is going to have changes, some more noticeable than others (If you notice, there's actually a mention of Sylveon here, something that wouldn't have happened back in the original story back when Gen IV was the newest).
So, enjoy! This is the diary of 19, often considered the weakest and scarediest by his peers. Get a peek into a bit of his mind.

So, I evolved today! Great news, huh? Yeah... Things really didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I suppose I should make the most of this. We did kind of need another Water-Type apart from 7, I suppose. I really don't feel like running over how it happened, though. I'm just glad I'm alive!

Today I went on my first mission on my new body. Nothing big, just go off Liid beach and see if anything was going on... It really felt like a dummy assignment, but I guess the higher-ups know what they're doing. Swimming seems to come naturally now. That's kind of cool.

Got paired with 14 again. He's a bit of a bully towards me, but he's not exactly a bad guy, so to speak... At least he bullies me a lot less than the others. We went for something to eat once the job was over and spent some time looking at some of the girls at the place. I've really just become aware of how much I like females! Guess I'm growing up, huh?

14 brought me a book, saying it had dirty pictures in it. I don't know what embarrasses me the most, either accepting it or realizing it was an ancient history textbook and that everyone else was watching me, ready to have a laugh. Very funny, guys. Real mature.

I bumped into 9 today. He didn't say anything other than "watch your step", but the way those blood-red eyes looked at me... Wow. Just wow. That guy's got something evil ready to burst out, I'd say. I kinda wish I was more like him, though. That Absol's really powerful! It's like every word he doesn't say only makes him stronger.

16 managed to make me trip out one of the castle's windows and into the sea below. Now, that fall made me scream my guts out! At least the water caught my fall. I love you, water~!
I just noticed we've got all numbers in our ranks from 1 to 19, but there's a skip: We go from 14 to 16... What happened to 15?

So I asked around to see why we've got no number 15. 9 just said it was none of my business, 1 didn't even stop to answer my question, 3 fell silent before adding "He's yet to awaken", and 2 laughed in a creepy way and told me I'd find out soon enough.
My conclusion: The higher-ups are jerks!

So that's what 2 meant! Today, we all met 15. Apparently, he got the number because he'd been "in development" since before they even considered creating me! (And hearing that hurt just a little...) He's a tiny, tiny Pichu. Doesn't talk much, but I guess that's because he's a baby. I noticed 4 had a pretty noticeable bruise and kept looking at the kid in a mixture of terror and anger. Could it be...?
Nah. No way a Nidoking would get that from a newborn Pichu. Right?
November 3, 207 AQS:
Got put on duty with the kid today. And by "duty", I mean looking after him since I told them I was injured fixing some pipes in the waterway yesterday. He's an interesting little guy, that's for sure. He's growing fast, too. Weird thing's here: we got attacked by a Sableye (Where'd he come from, and why did he fight us, I have no idea), so I went ahead and gave it a taste of the old Aqua Tail... Yeah, I got wrecked. (Not that that's strange, everyone knows I'm a pretty bad fighter outside the water) But the kid... I swear I saw his tail change to look a bit like mine and he clocked that Sableye. What's that Pichu made of?
December 31, 207 AQS:
Happy New Year, me! I hope everything goes just fine this starting year! Maybe I'll find a pretty girlfriend this year, who knows! We're actually getting a day off, too. That's a miracle! We're allowed to go to the actual world, too. I think I'll hit Neri. Calm little town, really pretty!
January 1, 208 AQS:
Went ahead and took my day off in Neri, just like I said I would. The river was refreshing to take a swim on, as usual. Things would have gone great, too... But then 11, 14, 16 and 17 showed up and took me partying. It was a little hard to have fun my own way after that, but hey, we still had a laugh or two. It was nice!

Today I learned just why 15 seems to be that good at learning moves and using them with ease. Turns out that's why they took so long to make him, too! He's got this "talent" that makes him able to change his body's form as he pleases and learn from sight incredibly fast, meaning he can basically do what he wants with just looking at it...
That's powerful, man. Gotta be careful around him.

It's already been a year since I evolved! Looking back, the incident was kind of embarrassing, but it turned out fine, too. I've learned so much about what I can do with this body, it's really impressive! I can say I'm proud of the way things turned out for me... They want me to head off for some scouting runs south tomorrow. The southern marshlands are kind of neat, but I've heard the Leafeon have been getting a bit more aggressive over time and I really don't want any trouble. Maaaybe I'll have an accident today. Yeah, like... Maybe I'll sprain one of my hindpaws. They wouldn't send me off like that, right?

Looking back upon the way my life and time here at the Midnight Voices has been, I can only say it's hard to believe it's been that long since I joined, and that there's a lot of memories for me to think over. 14's been a pal; even if he's a bit of a jerk at times, I can call him my friend. Burnt chicken and Goggle-boy keep bugging me, but they get along with each other just fine.
These bonds... These friendships we've made. We're supposed to be indifferent to most of those things and focus only on getting our goal of ruling everything done, but I can see a lot of us have made friends with each other and we all have our own ways. Hell, even 9 walks and talks with 18 like they're good friends. (I swear I saw 9 smile at him the other day. That's creepy, he shouldn't do that.)... We're all special, but when I see us doing this or that stuff, laughing, having a good time... We're just like any normal group of Pokémon on that regard.
That's deep. Where'd all these thoughts come from?
Guess I'm holding the philosophy ball tonight, huh?

Got called "gutless" today by some of the guys. I guess I kind of am, huh? Not that I'm weak, but I really can't find it in myself to do a lot of things. Maybe I should work on getting stronger... Cool thing happened, though: I heard some of the guys in my team call me "The Prince of Tidal Waves"! That sounded so cool! I really should try to make myself worthy of that title!

Trips to the outside world are becoming more frequent now... They're telling us to ready up, 'cause we'll be heading out for our first takeover real soon. I went to Frost to chill for a while (Heh, 'chill' at Frost. Get it?) today. Man, Lady Frost and her Sylveon friend are sooo pretty! I kinda wish one of them would notice me... Maybe they will, once we start taking over! I mean, it'd prove I'm a strong, cunning guy, right? Maybe we'll have lots of Eevee together and happily rule the world!
...

Takeover of Lizean starts tomorrow.... I'm so nervous!
The orders for me and my team are to stop anyone who might try to flee into the city's underground. Easy, right? Oh, man... I'm TERRIFIED! What if I go down? I heard Selenia's already found us out and is ready to fight back if we actually do attack! Well, I can only hope for the best. My guys believe in me, the Professor believes in me... Now all I'm missing is believing in myself.

Things have been getting pretty messy since the takeover. We've got our first signs of rebels popping up and they ain't making things any easier for us. We're moving on towards the rest of the north region soon, too. I'll do my best to get sent on a scouting run or two to act like I want to help, then relax while the guys who are good at the fighting take care of things. I kinda hope we get to the tropical regions soon, though! That'll be my time to shine!

A Jolteon and Glaceon named Hagen and Rufus have been stirring up a lot of trouble in Lizean lately. There's an Exploud guy who's been helping them out, too. Damn agitators! Can't they see I'm trying to not have to fight them?! Worst of all is no one considers them worthy enough of their time... I can practically hear 9 pushing me off the couch and sending me out there already!
15 seems really down of late, too. Wonder what's got him like that? Poor kid's never had an easy time getting along with anyone, but even then he used to laugh with us a bit...
10's been spending more time down in the basement than usual, coming out every now and then to mumble about "perfection" this and "improvement" that. Anyone I ask about it either doesn't know or doesn't want to tell me about it.
Being in the bottom of the hierarchy sucks.
