The Lion and the Thief

A little different than what I normally do. This story takes place in a much later version of my usual world, were magic, technology and nature are intertwined together and fantasy creatures of all types coexist. This was all based on an idea given to me by Mutable Beast who is also the owner of Beast.

I hope you all enjoy this little departure from the norm!

Ricco frowned sharply as his dark eyes carefully studied the thinning market crowd from his fountain side perch. The polecat was let out a deeply exasperated sigh, it was sundown and he hadn't pilfered, plundered, pinched or otherwise misappropriated anything decent that afternoon. A few stolen coins and notes lined his pockets along with a fake looking gem, but today's haul was poor for a pick pocket of his caliber. The polecat reached inside his coat and tugged out the jewel he was just thinking of, it appeared to be sapphire, crudely cut into an oval shape. Ricco considered pawning the gem anyway but, the crack that ran deep though the surface would have gotten him laughed out the door.

He turned his back on the dispersing throng and closing shops to face the fountain. The wide, stone pool was the heart of the busy town and in the center of the water jets that shot up in tall arcs was a massive marble lion, standing on all fours as he roared silently at the sky. Ricco weighed the gem in his palm carefully, glancing up at the stone beast's open maw then back down at the blue rock.

"I bet I can make it." Ricco thought, taking a few steps back to get a running start. His eyes narrowed and he took a few practice throws before finally rearing back and- A sharp sting shattered his focus, starting at the very tip of his tail and shooting up his spine, he dropped the blue stone as both paws when to his tail, yanking the tender limb close to his side as the pain registered as someone stepping on it.

"Oi! Watch were the fu-." As the polecat whirled around he was met with the sight of a broad chest with a tattered and dirty shirt stretched tight over it. The short mustelid, looked up the offending tail crusher with a deep scowl, his left paw sliding right to the handle of the knife tucked under his coat. He was human, close to human anyway; thick, matted tawny fur covered most of his head and flowed down his shoulders like a mane with furred ears peeking out underneath a worn beanie. Ricco had seen plenty in his short twenty-five years but, the man before him was curiosity. The mystery would have to wait for the polecat's anger to subside.

"Hey, you stepped on my tail!" Shouted Ricco up into the bigger man's face. He didn't get a reaction, nor was he even acknowledged. Ricco's brow flattened as he looked into the beastly man's green eyes, they were wide, unfocused, like he was looking at something miles away. Ricco turned, and squinted in the same direction, but all could see was the glare of the setting sun and the marble lion obscuring his view. The polecat was left even more confused and enraged, facing the man, taking his paw off the knife and tapping on the brawny chest like he was knocking on a door. The man finally blinked, breaking his thousand mile stare to glance down at the scowling polecat.

"Oi, steped on my tail, mate. Most people would say sorry." Ricco said dryly, it was quiet clear to him that his massive man wasn't all there.

"Oh. Sorry." The furry human said slowly, his voice low and harsh. He tilted his head slightly, fuzzy ear flicking. "Hullo."

Ricco raised a brow. "Uh...Hi." He quickly cased the lumbering man, his shirt was ripped and stained, his trench coat looked like it needed a good seamstress and his pockets looked woefully empty. "What's your name?" Ricco asked, reaching up to stroke at his short goatee.

The man's brow furrowed hard, eye darting to the floor as he strained his memory, Ricco thought he could hear the crank of rusty gears. The man just shook his head with a sigh.

"I...Don't remember, I don't think I had one." He rumbled deeply, a hint of confusion in his heavy voice.

"Oookay. How about where you're from? You don't look familiar." The polecat looked around casually, trying to see if the huge man had wandered away from a handler or something.

Once again he thought deeply, and once again he shook his head in defeat.

"I don't know that either." Ricco growled at the poor answer, starting to grow frustrated.

"Alright, whatever. Take care of yourself and try not to step on anymore tails while you're here, some people might not be so nice to you." The polecat shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose as he started to storm away. A pair of heavier footsteps started behind him. Ricco whirled quickly around on his heel, dark orange eyes locking sharply with the taller males, who only offered him a weak smile.

"Wha-Where the hell do you think you're going?" Ricco took a few steps away from the man, who easily closed the distance with a single step of his own. The polecat panicked as he looked into the beastly man's face, he knew that look, the same look a stray dog gives to someone who tossed them a few scraps.

"Oh no, no, no, no. This will not be happening today." Mumbled Ricco to himself, taking even wider strides, trying to out walk the man but he stayed on hot on the mustelid's heels. Ricco weaved though people and in and out of alleyways, head low as he tried to lose the furry human but those heavy footfalls were never more than a yard away. Ricco snarled before finally stopping in the middle of an empty street, glaring back at the man who seemed perfectly calm.

"Look." Started Ricco, rubbing his forehead with one paw while the other curled into a tight fist. "I don't know what your deal is mate, but you need to go home, do you remember where YOUR home is?"

"No, I don't." The answer was plain and quick, making the polecat flinch slightly. Ricco glanced up, the man was frowning and his eyes cast to the side. It tugged at the thief's heart strings and he hated that. His expression softened before finally sighing in defeat.

"Alright, fine...Keep up." Ricco cringed like the words tasted bad coming out. "And keep your mouth shut!"

The man's face lit up, beaming at the back of the polecat's head as he followed close behind.

Ricco ducked his way into a dark pub with the beast-like man close behind him, ignoring the looks he knew they would get. He didn't make eye contact with any one of the unsavory patrons except the bald orc standing behind the counter.

"Well now, this is quiet the surprise, been a while since you brought anyone home." The orc growled with a wide grin, eyeing the tall man behind the approaching polecat. "Bigger than what you normally bring in."

"Just shut up and set up him with a room and a shower, Mars." Ricco said with a huff, digging half of the day's loot out of his pocket, along with the cracked sapphire and pushing it toward the green man. Mars took the money and tucked it into his pocket but studied the palm sized gem carefully, before handing it back to the polecat with a grunt and shake of his head.

"You know magical items don't get a decent price down here, especially broken ones. As for that room, we're all booked up. Buuut, I can give you some extra blankets and pillows and he can crash on your floor." Mars smirked a bit, turning his gaze to the hairy man who stayed close behind the much smaller polecat. "Unless you wanna share a bed with the squirt here."

The nameless man chuckled deeply, looking down at Ricco, who glowered at the orc, then the gem clutched in his paw that only reflected his own face back at him.

"The floor is fine." Was all Ricco said before storming off again up a hidden staircase, the man following behind him after giving the orc a quick good bye.

"Squirt?" The maned human asked, a smile still on his face as he entered the polecat's meager living space, taking up nearly a forth of the poorly lit room.

"It's a nickname, one that you can't call me no matter how big you are." Ricco said, tossing the blue rock down on his bed carelessly as he peeled his coat and shirt off.

"What should I call you?" Asked the human, his attention now fully drawn to the gemstone, cautiously reaching out for it.

"Hm...My name is Ricco." The polecat said as he unloaded the rest of his money into a small metal chest with a heavy lock on it. "But...You can call me 'Boss' since its pretty clear you need someone to boss you around."

"Boss..." The animal-like man repeated slowly, the jewel starting to give off a dull glow as his hand drew closer to it. "I like that."

"Er, good, I guess." Ricco rolled his eyes, tucking the chest away to gather up his bathing supplies, still oblivious to the glowing sapphire and the man's rapt bewilderment of it. "Well, come on. You need a bath more than me anyway."

The man's attention was broken by the order of his new leader, watching the gemstone's glow fade and the crack spider out though the surface. "Ye-yeah, boss. Coming!" He growled out, stumbling out of doorway and nearly hitting his head on the frame.

The half naked polecat didn't detect each of the man's steps grow heavier and his breathing hitch, too annoyed to concentrate on anything outside of himself and his need to wash the stress off of him. The man grumbled and shifted inside his trench coat, straining shirt finally starting to rip while tawny brown hair began sprout up, peeking from under the new holes. The maned human growled deeply, scratching at his chest and totally unaware of the pelt of fur spouting under his fingers.

"We're gonna bathe together?" The man rumbled, a deeply pleasant feeling making his flesh tingle and muscles flex involuntarily as they slowly swelled in size.

"Er, yeeeah, its communal bath, not shy are you?" Ricco teased as he pushed the heavy door open that lead into large, empty room with the walls, floor and ceiling covered in tiles. The polecat effortlessly kicked down his pants and stored them away before turning to the beastly man, eyes narrowing slightly as he looked his new responsibility up and down, noticing something different, just shaking his head and blaming it on the better lighting. "Alright, clothes off, big guy."

The man shed his trench coat with little trouble but, his shirt was another story. The moment the hulking male tried to peel the thin cotton over his maned head, the fabric finally gave out, turning the shirt into several large, musky rags. The man whimpered as the shredded garment fell off him, looking helplessly at the polecat.

"Uh, it's alright. We'll find you a new one." Ricco spat out and kicked himself the moment the words left his muzzle, he barely had money for himself let alone another however, the look on the man's face softened his heart considerably. The human was overjoyed at the idea, flashing a toothy smile as he peeled of his filthy boots, worn pants and skullcap, leaving him completely nude in front of the other. Ricco was never a bashful man, but the beast of a man standing before him made his cheeks burn and his ears flatten against his head.

Ricco guessed that the animal-like man would be powerfully built due to his sheer size and hairy if the tawny beard was any indication, but he never imagined what the man wielded between his legs. Dark eyes tried not to stare on the man's endowments and their struggle was in vain, Ricco couldn't help but follow the thick treasure trail down. The uncut shaft was easily thicker than the wiry polecat's wrist and slightly shorter than his forearm with a few veins visible under the skin, all neatly surrounded by a nest of fur. Ricco couldn't see much of the man's testicles although he could tell they were just as impressive. The man looked down at the much smaller polecat staring at him, scratching at his beard softly while shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other.

"Boss?" The man asked throatily, oblivious to Ricco's sudden interest in him. He swung his tail into his thick hands and held it before his crotch. "Somethin' wron-"

"Wait, you have a tail?!" Ricco's eyes widened as he quickly snatched the man's tail in his own paws to examine. Is was much like a lion's, long and rope-like, with a golden brown tuff on the tip. "Lord, do you just keep getting weirder." Said Ricco with a huff, letting the tail fall from his grip and trying to appear in charge as he lead them to the showering area. "I guess it safe to say you aren't human."

"Is that bad?" Snarled the man, a touch of worry in his voice as looked at the various shower spigots jutting from the tile wall.

"Well no, I just thought you were a human is all." Ricco said flatly, twisting the hot and cold knobs for a few spigots to cover himself and-

"We have to think of a name for you. Are you sure you can't remember it?" Ricco asked, watching the lumbering male shy away from the warm rain before quickly embracing the sensation.

"I don't know if I had a name, some called me 'Beast' though." The man growled absentmindedly, rubbing against the fur that was growing wet under the shower and then watching the dirt and grime slide into the drain between his feet.

"Wait, some? Who called you Beast?" Ricco nearly dropped the bar of soap he was rubbing over his soaked chest fur, looking up at the taller male with narrowed eyes.

The man tilted his head to the side and rumbled curiously, like a feral dog hearing a high pitched sound. Ricco' sighed and shook his head, the guy couldn't remember his past or where he came from, hell, he seemed to have a little difficulty bathing himself."Gah, sit on the floor and lemme help, you big lug."

The beast sat cross-legged on the floor like he had been ordered, flinching as the cool tilt floor graced his more sensitive parts while Ricco worked his paws and the bar into a white suds before starting to aggressively scrub though the man's mane. His fingers worked though the thick, golden strands, spreading a rich and much needed lather deep into the coarse fur. The human couldn't suppress a wide smile and deeply pleased growl, his toes curling as he enjoyed the scrub down and entirely ignorant of his facial features shifting slightly, a cross between man and animal. Ricco was unaware of this new change as well, much too busy combing though that pelt growing from the man's chest. The man swayed with a lazy smile, his body tingling all over with the sensations especially strong where ever those dexterous paws touched. His mind grew cloudy and his simple thoughts became scattered and blurred, only wild impulses and instincts remained clear in the haze. He could barely control himself as his tongue lolled free from his mouth then slurped hard over the polecat's snout.

Ricco jumped as the sand-papery, wet ribbon drug over his muzzle, slipping and falling onto his own rump. The polecat was prepared to be furious and appalled at the uncalled for affection but, he remembered that human tongues weren't rough. The smaller man looked up at the much larger one, a half man, half lion looked back.

The polecat wanted to scream and run, but he stayed silent and sat, searching the other creature's green eyes.

"I guess that's why they call you Beast then." Ricco mused calmly, lifting a paw and carefully reaching out to touch the other male's leonine nose. He flinched as the beast pressed his forehead into his palm and rumbled softly.

"Boss, Beast feel..." The creature growls and nuzzled into that paw, closing his eyes as his brow furrowed in concentration. The sentence remained unfinished as Beast took his head away from the paw and leaned forward to nuzzle his whole face against the polecat's flat belly. Ricco could only yelp and growl softly as he tried in vain to push the bigger man away from his most ticklish parts.

"Oi! Heheh!...S-stop it!" Ricco tired to be angry however, he didn't know that wet and soapy mane could tickle so much.

"Boss smell good." Beast bellowed, his leonine nose snuffling loudly down the polecat's stomach, ending right at his modest sheath. Ricco starts to struggle harder but, his fighting quickly ceases when Beast's thick tongue laps over his dark colored manhood. The polecat's eyes shut tightly and his muzzle hangs open, letting out a silent groan as his shaft quickly stiffens under the broad, messy licks.

Ricco wanted to tell him to stop although, the words never found their way out between his moans of glee, it had been too long since anyone payed him this kind of attention anyway. Beast's tongue curled and twisted around Ricco's pulsing member, leaving a mess of saliva and precum in his wake.

"Master...B-boss, tastes good too." Beast seemed confounded by what he said but he forgot them as soon as he spoke them, too preoccupied with lavishing the hot pillar of flesh before him. Ricco's paws held that maned head tight, groaning deeply as the familiar and pleasant burn in the pit of his stomach grew, his climax already making itself apparent. Beast's tail swayed behind him gleefully as he gave his master a messy tongue bath, growling deeply from the back of his throat as the flavor suddenly changed an intensified.

Ricco's orgasmic cries feel on deft ears as his member pulsed hard, flinging ribbon after hot, musky ribbon on his seed against the roof of the creature's mouth, writhing in the deep gratification. The polecat's climax ended as quickly as the whole session started, leaving the smaller mustelid pleasantly exhausted. Beast's tongue was only getting started, gulping down his thick reward then engulfing the polecat's balls into his mouth as well, suckling hard on the sensitive manhood.

"Oi! E-enough!" Panted Ricco, weakly trying to push the maned head away from him as he tried to recover. Beast's ears flatted against his head and he quickly recoiled, shaking his mane out as he stood on his hands and knees, looking expectantly at his caretaker.

"Beast do...Bad?" He whimpered in his broken speech, eyes lowered as waited for his response and anticipated punishment.

"What? No, no, no." Ricco said quickly as a sliver of guilt shot though his heart. He sighed and reached out for the creature again, placing his paw against the soaked beard and scratching softly. The simple sign of affection earned him a toothy smile from Beast who leaned over and lapped sloppily over the polecat's muzzle in a fit of joy.

"Hey, hey! Come one, you still got my spunk on your tongue!" Ricco chuckled, pushing himself back up on wobbly legs to escape the licking. The polecat huffed and looked at his responsibility with a shake of his head. Beast looked right back, that dumb, friendly grin still plastered on his face as he looked back.

"You like the name Beast, right?" Ricco asked, scratching behind his ear as he tried to convince himself not to do what he was about to. The creature nodded and gave and affirmative rumble.

"I'll take that as a yes then. And you don't have any family or anything?"

Beast shook his head violently.

"And apparently you turn into a giant lion....Thing." Ricco rubbed at the bridge of his nose.

Beast cocked his head to the side and snorted. The polecat's eyes narrowed a bit before he exhaled sharply.

"Listen, Its clear you need someone to look after you...And I know the blowjob is probably to blame for this but, you wanna' stay with me for a while?" Ricco spat out. The beast's face lit up, he only understood the last part but, he nodded franticly, letting out a proud roar into the showerhead before gagging and coughing up some water. Ricco snorted and laughed at the sight, patting the larger males back before helping to rinse any stray suds of the tawny mane.

"Dunce." Huffed Ricco with a lazy grin, basking in his afterglow as he cleaned off his new friend.

An elderly hawk franticly searched his robes and bags, his sharp eyes filled with worry as he felt for an item that wasn't there.

"No, this cannot be happening."He panted as he ran around his stone chambers like the man half his age, searching for an oval sapphire. The gem was solid magic that collected naturally in the world but, it was damaged and that made it incredibly dangerous. The hawk shook his head as he retraced his steps.

"First the library, then the market then..."He trailed off, remembering acutely that a scruffy looking polecat bumped into him and barely apologized. His jaw clenched as he realized he had been pick pocketed, the gem stolen in broad daylight. He reached for a heavy looking book and flipped through the pages, fiercely determined to recover what was his.

Ricco had managed to rinse, dry and sneak a naked Beast back to his room with little trouble, the creature surprisingly obedient despite his size and blatant strength.

"Bedtime big guy." Yawned the polecat, taking one of the extra blankets the orc left him and spreading it out over the floor beside his bed. Beast flops down quickly on the blanket, curling up like a house cat would, a deep rumble rising from his chest.

Ricco chuckled and did the same on his own bed but, winced when he landed on something hard. He reached under him and snatched out the blue rock, growling at the object before motioning to toss it away. Before it could leave his paw a violent shock of pain ran up his forearm, the pain was sudden and excruciating. Ricco tired to scream as the stone flashed brightly then shattered in his grip, it was too much, too soon for the unprepared polecat.

The room slowly went dark, the last sound he heard as the fearful cry of the beast beside him.
