Hey, guys, just letting you know that this is actually the 4th part of the story. SF seems to have much more bugs than when I last been here and it doesn't let me to change the position of this submission.

Earth's Children: 'The Abomination'

A two years older me walks by a completely dead city... red sky... stinky wind... I feel stared at... by many things I can't explain... I feel powerful... The air vibrates around me... I travel for days... city from city... everything dead... no human life left... no Fera... just me and 'them'...

A loud noise fills up the corridor, waking me up. I'm in a hidden cell, most likely under the White House.

I am angry at Jaine. We were supposed to act neutral, not hostile. This made me realize that she is not even here.

There is something more... 'it'... a creature... chasing and haunting me for years as I travel. But I am not afraid... not anymore... nothing to lose.

Soon a certain man with black robes walks up to the cage. He places hands on the bars and smirks. My body disobeys me as I try to get up. The images in my head are too overpowering.

I feel... guilt... lonelyness... love I never got time to share... I walk forward and see shadows... I am not sure what they are... but they are familiar in a bad way... their eyes... black like night with red, glowing irises...

"So you finally arrived... I was expecting larger numbers." - He sounded sarcastic.

"You knew we were coming? Why did you go hostile on us then?"

A smirk creeps up on his human face. - "You see... I am the only one knowing the true story about your people. The others think you are dominant, evil creatures that want Earth for themselves."

My eyes close as I let out a tear... I have no purpose anymore... This is not a dream... This is not my imagination... The sky cries red along with me as I drop on my knees and let the shadows come closer... and closer... Until they reach me.

I look up at the man, confused and sad. - "Why would you do that?"

He points a finger at me. - "You were the ones gifted with true power by the Earthmother. The abilities your kind possesses is far greater than our technology will ever be... but that can change... because there is one thing technology does that your powers can't... we develop... after all those years... while you lived peacefully, me and my servants have been working on a way to take the one thing you never wished to share."

I look at him, shocked. Steal our powers for themselves? Is that even possible? - "You can't do that. These things are not to be messed with. You don't even know what all of this might cause."

"Why, yes I do. All the possibilities... you always wasted your talents by sitting on that hidden land, doing nothing. My kind will reach beyond this wretched planet and look for a better place.

I laugh which makes him look at me with surprise while I get up. - "You see... this is why we were gifted... your kind is selfish. You believe that having power gives you the right to misuse it." - For some reason this conversations got me angry. These people are blind to the future.

"No. You're wrong. Having power allows me to spit on rights. And to prove that... I have power over you now... we interrogated your people and found the location of Arbor... Soon your kingdom will fall."

I get up. My eyes glowing in green. The floor vibrates around me. The man feels this and steps away from the bars. - "You want power?" - I ask, now furious. The floor and walls start to have cracks in them. - "Well, then choke on it!" - He jumps out of the way as my kinetic power bursts around me, causing walls to partially smash and the cell door to fly away and hit the cell door on other side of corridor.

My instincts lead the way. I sort of... know... where Jaine is. She is my only hope to get to Arbor quickly. Tears run down my cheeks as I yell in anger, sending giant wave of fire at two humans, guarding the cell I want to get to. The flames rage across the corridor, burning the two as I open Jaine's cell. She looks up at me surprised.

"How did you-..."

"There's no time! They know!"

"Know what?"

"They want to invade Arbor. We have to go!"

"But what about the others?"

"They'll be fine for now! There's mothers and children on Arbor!"

She nods and wraps arms around me. I feel the familiar sensation while teleporting with her. We end up in middle of our village and straight away realize we are too late.

Strange flying machines sprint above the land, dropping metallic missiles that create huge explosions on contact. I look around, watching the chaos... screams and agony fill my ears... The houses so familiar to me... consumed in fire and dropping onto the ground... Humans in armor are killing off survivors with same metal devices that they tried to shoot Jaine... I take a step forward to help them and almost trip over a body. I look down and my heart skips a beat.

"Mom..."

Dropping on my knees, I lift her head up and place fingers on her neck. No signs of life. The first tear runs down my cheek, followed by next ones, dropping on her chest. The explosions... screams... bangs... they become a background to me. I look up onto the ground around me and spot familiar faces... now empty... cold shock expressions...

It's all my fault. I could have prevented this if I listened to my instincts... And now the ones I grew up with are dead. These... creatures are heartless... killing us all off and keeping just a few for own, grim purposes...

Soon something cold touches my bare footpaws. I look down terrified, seeing a pool of blood stretching out from the bodies. My ears perk up to the sounds of people crying. I look that way and see few survivors on their knees, watching with tears in eyes as the Mother-Tree cracks in various places... the leaves being on giant fire. The Fera still inside are by the windows, screaming as one of the bigger branches, with rooms in it falls down, smashing onto the ground.

Suddenly my body tenses up and I scream in agonizing pain, dropping on the floor. My body lies in the pool of blood, watching as our giant pear, The Essence... gets smashed by one of the planes... the sacred thing that kept us alive for so long... smashed... seeping out blue, glowing fog that reaches up towards the sky before disappearing. As it disappears... so do hopes of my people... everyone who's still alive drops on the floor, shaken by the sensation of being disconnected from something so important... We are more mortal than ever...

And then I realize... Hunter stayed here when I left. I hug my own bloodied chest and scream as the sky turns dark grey from all the smoke. The Humans realize I am one of the alive ones. They start walking up to me, pointing the big metal weapons. Jaine is gone, probably attempting to help others or... she's already dead. This can't end like this...

I get up, slowly, blood dripping from my fur before I look up at the Humans with sadness and despise. My mind, soul and body scream for vengeance... And I shall have it. As I stand there, the blood of my people starts lifting up as if lacking gravity. I will drown them in their own victims... Those that survived, look terrified as the blood begins forming into a big wolf which then begins attacking the Humans. I myself slowly lift up into the air, defying gravity. Air starts furiously circling around me in a sphere motion as my eyes glow with green light. A few Humans try to shoot me but the bullets, despite their speed, get redirected by the wind sphere. I watch with anger as Humans closest to me scream when their backs tilt back so much their spines break. I know I am doing it... and that they deserve this... A flying machine heads straight at me. I throw a powerful kinetic blast. As it hits the machine, it explodes into bits. One of the Humans fly up as I watch his legs stay still while the torso turns without a stop until his flesh gives in and the body gets separated into two halves. I let them drop on the floor. They want power? I'll give them power...

I raise paws up. Their tanks fly into the air and fall into armies of the Humans, causing explosions. They begin retreating. While some managed, most got trapped by me, burying them into the ground so that only their heads stick out. I then land on the floor and start walking up to them. Last thing they see is a child they hurt before the earth crushes their bodies, causing blood to spill from their mouth.

And then... my body gives in... I drop on my knees and then on my back... Staring at the grey sky... My powers going away with my rage... Just to be replaced by sorrow. Despite driving humans off... I seem to be the only one alive on this land... I lift myself up on fours and begin crawling towards mom's body before resting head on her chest and letting my sadness out...

2 Hours Later

I make sure no one watches before slowly re-shaping my body back to the true me. I begin getting taller, my body gains muscles and my fur changes. As soon as that is done, my finger slips out a small, sharp bone. I use it to fiddle with the cell door lock. I quickly back away from the cell door, playing innocent when someone enters the corridor. Earlier on I heard an explosion, maybe they'll spill some information if I pretend to be asleep. I lay on the floor and close eyes.

"So it is finally done..."

"Yes... but at what cost. To think one kid can kill over 40 people in less than 2 minutes..."

"We underestimated the Fera."

What? One of us attacked them?

"But hey... Arbor finally fell."

My ears perk up in disbelief. Our homeland? Fell? Those... those bastards.

"So these caged ones are the last ones of their kind?"

"Mhm. We need to tell the others to put up a tougher watch on these cells."

After a while they leave. I need to free the others... if Arbor got attacked and fell... we need to stay away from Humans. Soon the lock opens, setting me free.

"Koda..."

I ignore the voice behind me. I am too tired to listen to anyone... too sad...

"Koda. We need to get back and free the others. Your father was taken captive."

That's what forces me to lift head up and look at Jaine. - "Dad is alive?"

"As far as I know. But we have to hurry if we want it to stay that way." - She offers me a paw. I sigh and stand up, grabbing it. Last thing I see is my mother's body before Jaine transports us back to the cells.

"Why would they keep a prison under such important place to them as White House?" - I ask, confused.

"This is not the White House."

"No?"

"While they were taking me to my cell, I noticed there is a lot of... prophecies... and information... about us on the walls. It must be some sort of... ancient temple from the times when Fera lived along with Humanity."

Soon we hear steps. Someone must have heard us talk. Jaine looks up and pokes me with an elbow before pointing at the vent, high up in the ceiling. I nod and use what little kinetic power I learned to slowly lift Jaine up, higher and higher until she grabs the vent with paws and offers to use her body as a ladder. I climb up and we both make it on time before 2 Humans enter the room.

"Why didn't you teleport?" - I ask while we travel through the vents.

"The smaller the spot, the more precise I have to be... and I can't exactly get myself to teleport precisely ever since The Essence got... destroyed... That reminds me..." - Her voice gets even more serious. - "How the hell did you defeat all of them back there?"

"I... don't know. I saw all those bodies... and... blood and just... all of this happening... it made me rage inside... I wanted them to feel the pain they caused... I always heard my dad saying that bad emotions can lead to destruction..."

"But this was not normal... one does not brutally kill 40 people because of anger... no matter how big it is."

"Shhh... what's that?" - I point through the vent. It looks... like a laboratory under us. And the man I've seen earlier in the middle of it.

"The day has come... the creation is complete. A volunteer has been prepared for this for over a year... we did tests. We altered the DNA and today the final piece of puzzle has arrived... The Ferra..."

A few whispers can be heard from surprised people in the lab.

"My brethren... today... we see the first human kind with part of Fera DNA that gives them their sacred power."

Jaine's eyes open wide. - "What in the name of Earthmother is... that..."

Soon I realize what she means... that... thing no longer looks like a Human... nor Fera... It's... an abomination... skin teared in many places, leaving flesh exposed... random bone spikes... oversized heart sticking out from the chest.

The man smiles at his 'creation' while most people seem disgusted. - "Let's see how our first attempt deals with the most honorable of Fera kind."

Before I get a chance to react, Jaine covers my muzzle, seeing as my own father gets pushed in the middle of laboratory. The creature looks at him. I move Jaine's paw away. - "What are you doing? You'll let your Earthwarden fight like this?"

"If we expose our position now... all 3 of us will be defeated... You and hopefully some other young survivors are the last hope for our race now..." - She grabs my muzzle as I watch in fear how my father fights the beast.

The Abomination sends kinetic tentacles towards dad but he builds up a massive ball of flame in his paws before sending it towards the creature. Due to dad's surprise, it gets stopped by a kinetic force. Straight after that, dad yells in agony as the tentacles reach him, piercing his chest. Jaine covers my eyes and keeps my muzzle shut as I hear my dad being tortured. - "Let's get out of here..." - She whispers.

I shake my head before breaking free from her. - "Not without dad... I won't leave him there."

"Koda... he's.... d-"

"I know... but I am sure he would like his body to rest in our homeland... not here."

She nods. - "We need to wait for them to leave."

The man spreads arms as if expecting applause. - "My creation was successful... We are a huge step further towards perfection."

The Abomination growls at the man. It seems even he got worried. - "We need to lock 'him' up for now. I sense trouble if we had him loose." Soon after that, the creature starts stepping towards the man.

"Back away or- GAAAANHG!" - He screams as the creature pierces his chest too and lifts up into the air.

He breathes last breaths while saying: - "Without me... you'll have no purpose, monster..."

The creature stabs him in the head before throwing the body onto wall. Everyone starts to panic, trying to get out of the lab. And we just wait... sad... angry... but patient... because they got what they deserve... they wanted power... they wanted to kill us... now they got destroyed by their own greed...

I kneel in front of a freshly dug grave. It already begins to cover in flora.

"What if we are the last ones alive?..."

"I don't think so, Koda... we've been to the cells... they were all open and empty. I believe our people must've gotten away and try to stay in shadows."

"But doesn't that mean we might never find them?"

"We will. We'll just have to look."

"No." - I stand up, looking at the grave. - "You go ahead and find others if you want... I need to stop that... thing."

"Alone? Koda, you're just a kid."

"A kid that obliterated 40 people."

"I'm not going to talk you out of this, am I?"

"Our kind is lost anyway... My father would want me to become and Earthwarden... and Earthwarden's main duty is to serve and protect the Earth... that abomination is loose and it needs to be stopped before it destroys Humanity too... not every one of them is as evil. Innocent people will die too if I don't do anything."

She nods before offering me a paw. - "Then you don't want to be stuck on this island."

"Thank you, Jaine... for everything. I wish I still had childhood but... recent events snapped something inside of me... I feel responsible..."

I take her paw. She smiles for some reason...

"Your father would be proud..."
