Finally the snow began to fall, it fell fast covering the world in a blanket of snow.

Leaf shivered the snow reached the top of her legs when she stood out of the nest. She stared, in envy, out to all the fire types around her.

"Lucky bunch" Leaf murmured, shivering

"Hey tiny" said Fenrir wandering over with food and dropping it into the nest.

Leaf growled "I'm not as tiny as your brain" as she tucked into her share happily

Fenrir laughed and cuddled beside her to keep her warm knowing that Grass types don't bode well during the winter months.

"If you weren't here where would you be right now?" he asked after swallowing a mouthful of meat.

"I be in a hole surrounded by lots of grass leaves and whatever else I can find, it's really warm and cosy that way" she replied "but your nice and warm to but I'm guessing that's because you're a fire type though"

"Correct, the nutty little leaf brain gets it right" he chuckles through chewing

Leaves grumbled, not able to think of a suitable come back.

Even though she was glad her son had someone he could talk to and joke around with in confidence, Fenrirs mother and father were still not pleased about having an outsider in the pack, it was an intrusion.

With a disapproving glance she approached the two who were now silent, now out of witty comments for each other and gently barked to Fenrir, he looked at Leaf before walking over to his mother.

"Fenrir why is the Leafeon still here, is she not yet healed?" she inquired softly as she knew his friendship with her.

"She is healed but we couldn't find her any food to spend the winter with and I felt responsible, I couldn't leave her out there to starve" Fenrir was trying is best to sound humble he didn't want to defy his mother, but he didn't want to abandon Leaf.

She sighed after his sentence "Fenrir when you become leader you will learn that it's more important to think of the pack before your friend, we have enough mouths to feed without the Leafeon included" his mother paused seeing her sons face drop "However I also agree that it is a good trait of a leader to be compassionate, she can stay until winter dies down, then she must leave, food or no food"

Fenrir looked down "Ok...mum..."

She kissed his fore head before leaving; the topic seemed strangely hypocritical of her considering she was mated with a Houndoom and not an Arcanine pack member.

Fenrir slowly wondered back over to Leaf his mood saddened and miserable.

"Your mum looks very pretty" She said cheerfully "I wish I had a mum like that"

Fenrir looked at her "Hey Leaf, how come your not with your family, I hear most eevee'lutions tend to stick with family"

Leaf went silent and stared at the snow covered tree's, her silence was a sudden blow to Fenrirs ego.

"Something must have happened to them" He thought to himself, looking at her blank expression.

Leaf just stayed quiet for a couple of hours, grunting to anything he said in acknowledgement.

One of Fenrir friends ran over looking excited "Fenrir, Fenrir, Christa is challenging you to a fight again"

"I can't go I'm looking after Leaf and keeping her warm" He sadly sounded a little disappointed

"You go" Leaf muttered "I just want to lay here and do nothing" She sighed

"Ok then, if that's what you want Leaf, you can always come and watch if you want" he said as he stood

"No that's ok I'm too small remember" Her voice sounded slightly bitter as she lay with her head hanging over the nest

Fenrir was taken aback by her voice "o...ok" he took a miserable look at Leaf before he slunk off with his excited friend, who couldn't resist bounding.

It had been two years ago, Leaf was a normal and a very happy Leafeon, But it was taken away from her, she had been sad ever since, and had never truly laughed or found any form of happiness since before she met Fenrir.

As she thought on she realised that Fenrir managed to make her really happy, almost as happy as she was before that fateful day, she jumped up suddenly, and began jumping through the snow to get to the fight, Thankfully her leg was no longer agonizing but it was still achy, but she didn't care, she just wanted to get to him as soon as she could, and be there for him as he had been there for her.

Fenrirs mother was sitting close by when she saw Leaf jumping through the snow and slowly followed with a soft smile on her face.

Leaf reached the fight but couldn't quite see, the blanket of the snow was a little too high for her vision, Fenrirs mother came up behind her slowly "Would you like a boost my dear?" she asked kindly

Leaf turned round and smiled happily "I don't want to bother you" she was glad for the offer of his mother.

"Not at all" replied is mother and she crouched her front two legs down allowing leaf to climb up on her back.

"Be careful not to fall Leafeon" She said

"Thank you so much for this" Said leaf trying not to stand uncomfortably on top of her back.

"Why did you come to watch him fight Leaf?" asked his mother as she gazed at the first "wouldn't you be warmer at the Nest? Wouldn't it be more comfortable for you?"

"I'm here for Fenrir... he has done so much for me, I just want to return the favour" Leaf said as she was stretching her body up to watch "wow he is really good at fighting"

The two Arcanines were battling it out in the centre of a crowd of pack members

His mother chuckled "Of course he is, he will be pack leader one day" She said with a smile

"Oh I see" replied Leaf in astonishment, She didn't realise how important Fenrir was to the pack.

The fight soon came to a swift end as Fenrir body slammed his opponent, once again the victor of battle Fenrir headed over having spied Leaf during the scuffle.

"Leaf I'm surprised to see you came I thought you were mad at me" *he stood beside his mother to allow Leaf to jump to his back.

Leaf slowly came over being mindful of where her paws went "Of course I came Fenrir, and I could never be mad at you, you're my first and only friend, and I'm happy to be considered as your friend"

His mother just smiled. She was glad to have heard those words from Leaf, It showed Leafs commitment, but she sadly frowned when she thought of the fact Leaf would have to leave after the winter months.

Fenrir would lay with his paws just over Leaf so she wouldn't freeze to death during the night, admist the next few days they would play games and playfully insult one another.

She had spent several nights awake, she felt guilty over going silent on Fenrir the other day so she turned to him and looked into his peaceful face.

"Fenrir... I want to tell you about... why I don't travel with my family..." She whispered so as not to disturb anyone around.

He woke as she spoke, his ears pricked up "You sure?" he looked at her and stretched slightly.

"Yes" she smiled slightly "I can trust you... See... my mother, my father... and my two siblings died..."

"Oh Leaf... I'm so sorry..." Fenrir said sadly, hugging Leaf closer.

"Humans did it... they wanted to take the land my family lived on... My mother and father fought as best they could... they told us to run..." Growls her body tensing "I ran but my siblings stayed"

"Leaf..." Said Fenrir quietly sensing the anger building up through her body tensing, her anger was probably more than her body could handle.

She panted a little finally calmming "I...should have stayed...I should have fought with them... instead of being a coward and running..."

"They told you to run Leaf... you couldn't have done much else" he was trying to speak calmly and clearly

Leaf looked at him and burst into tears burying herself in his warm silky fur as he hugged her as tight as her body could handle.
