This is part of the Encylopedia (https://www.sofurry.com/view/550874), all entries in the letters Qq - Uu.

You may notice that there are some blank entries, I know these are there, I just haven't worked out the specifics for them yet. They will be updated in a future version.

I commissioned the picture used for this from Spypolygon (https://spypolygon.sofurry.com/). He is a great artist and is very pleasant to work with, so if you're looking for a commission go check and see if he's free!

There are four seasons which occur over different parts of a year. These are winter, spring, summer and autumn. During these seasons certain weathers occur more frequently than during any other season. Each season lasts between 80 - 120 days, but there will be no more than 380 days over the course of the four seasons.

A short summer is often feared to be followed by a long winter, but this is not always the case. There are many ways which furs interpret when the seasons change. Weather, migrating animals, the colour of leaves in trees, etc...

It is not uncommon for certain tribes to believe that they have had a short spring while others believe they have had a long one.

When describing their age furs will commonly say that they are X-amount of winters old, some might refer to any other season if they were born during that season, but referral to winter is most common.

Some Shaman bond with lesser Deities for periods of times so that they use the Deities power or let the Deities act through them. This ritual is not with out risks as sometime the deity and Shaman become inseparable and either the Shaman or Deity gains take control of the hosts body. They are highly intelligent, and live extremely long life spans, one spryte was known to have been nearly 200 years old before it went missing when the family it belonged to died during a bandit raid. They have also been known to seal themselves inside eggs when they are wounded or hurt and then remain dormant inside the egg for months, years or even decades before hatching again.

He bred various plants, trying to take their strongest properties to create an sturdy and nutritious food source, one durable enough to grow in the harsh deserts like the ones he grew up in to bring wealth and prosperity to his people. He died shortly after breeding this plant after sampling another berry form another bush he had bred, however the berry was incredibly poisonous and looks almost identical to the Thorax Bush. The only difference between them is the shape of the berries that grow on them. The other berries are called Mortus Berries*.

Tribal lands

The Northern lands where there is mostly open plains. Within the area there are over 80 separate Villages. In these villages, the same types of species tend to gather and live, following the teachings of one or more of the Twelve Guardian Deities.*

Over time many of the Tribal people break away from the rural way of life and and have set up villages of their own where they are not restricted by the traditions of the Tribes but these settlements are scorned by most of the Tribes and have on occasion been attacked by the tribes but since the population of these villages have grown to the point where they out number many of the Tribes the attacks have been few and far between.

War between tribes is also common but the longest and bloodiest of these wars in the history of the tribes is that of the one between many of the wolven Tribes and the Draconian Tribes, which unlike many other wars where it is tribe against tribe, it is a full on species war. Many wolven tribes will fight any race of Dragon that cross their path.

Tribal Villages

The Villages that have been around for hundreds of years following the teachings of the Twelve Guardian Deities*. Each village chooses to follow the teachings of one or more of the Deities more closely than the others but all are educated in the ways of the twelve.

The Teachings of the twelve bestow understanding of the lands and moral rules to follow. In the past few generations more and more are moving away from the rural and primitive life styles that most Tribal villages live in. This has lead to several new settlements having been founded by such furs as many look for protection and safety with others like themselves.

Many of the more strict and traditional villages, in particular the majority of the wolven villages have taken a strong objection to such settlements having been founded. In the early years of this sudden upheaval of beliefs these new settlements were attacked and many were killed. Since then the villages have grown in size, and are large enough to be able to fend off such attacks. Some of the Tribal Villages however have accepted these new settlements, and have even slackened their own traditionalist views within their villages.

This was one of the factors that were the caused the hatred of Dragons in many of the wolven Villages, and consequently restarted the war between their species, which has lasted for over 30 generations. Around the time that these new villages began to appear, the draconian villages sympathised with the homeless refugees and gave away part of their own lands to help them settle and build their new settlements.
