#9 of Alan's Story

Next installment of Alan's Story! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get this out, but you can thank Firefromheaven that I've done it so quickly! His latest installment of "IN my Wildest Dreams" made me remember how much an author can affect his reader's emotions... and it reinspired my desire to write... I plan on finishing the last chapter of Alan's Story soon, and I hope to have it uploaded. After that, I don't know what I will do.. I will have decided by the time I release the next chapter of Alan's Story.

For now, ENJOY!

Edit;! I LOVE WATCHES! And favorites! But please, COMMENTS!

It was three days after Travis' spiel against Nathan's mother that I was finally released from the hospital, seeing as walking back to my room caused me to break four of the fifteen stitches in my side. Nathan was under my arm the entire walk out of the hospital, leaning against my good side and nuzzling into my side every time we stopped for longer than three seconds.

Eventually we had to get into an elevator, at which point I smiled down at him and kissed him softly on the lips. "I can walk on my own ya know..." I told him, squeezing him against me and rubbing my paw on his side a bit.

He shrugged a bit and stood on his tiptoes to kiss me back, "What if I don't want you to walk on your own?" he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he pushed his arm through mine again and started to pull me out of the elevator.

Our footsteps echoed in the entrance chamber, the only other person in it being the clerk behind the main desk, and I smiled at him. "Then I guess I'm just shit out of luck, huh?"

He giggled and licked the bottom corner of my chin, stepping in front of me and opening and holding the door for me. "Such a gentlemen," I said sarcastically, holding my good arm in front of me in mock of a woman from the nineteenth century.

He giggled and kissed it before letting the door closed and pushing himself back under my arm, "The gentlest," he said with a grin as he led me to my mother's car where Steven and my mother were both waiting impatiently. He opened the back seat door for me and I slid in, smiling as he sat on my lap after.

"Silly fox," I whispered into his ear as he struggled to pull the seat belt over both of us. I rolled my eyes and took it from him, pulling it across his chest and down, using my other paw to buckle it in. He murfed and leaned back against me, his head pressing under my chin as he clutched at my shirt. I rolled my eyes again and said, "ok mom... me and my cling on are ready to go."

She raised her eyebrow and said, "Alright, but Nathan's father invited us to dinner, and I figured that we would go." She said simply as she started the car, immediately beginning to pull out.

I shrugged a bit and then nibbled on Nathan's neck, "That's alright with me..." I said softly, "As long as I get to spend time with my cute little fox."

He giggled softly and murred, leaning back into me and closing his eyes ever so slowly. "Don't worry," he murmured softly as he rubbed his head under my chin, "I'm not letting go of you for a second..."

I couldn't help but grin and squeeze him tighter to me, my head resting on his shoulder and my nose pressing into his coconut scented fur, occasionally giving his cheek a lick, enjoying the feel of his fur on my tongue.

He just smiled and murred, relaxing against me as my mother drove. For the most part the only sound was his murring and the music playing from the radio, until our car pulled into the gravel half of his driveway, the sound of the rocks gritting against the cars tires. When my mother stopped, I smiled and unbuckled the seat belt from around me and Nathan and struggled the door open. He crawled out and grabbed my arm, tugging on it until I was finally out. "You are so pathetic..." I told him as I pulled him under my arm again. He just smiled a bit and stood up on his tip toes to kiss the bottom of my chin again.

"I'm only pathetic for you..." he said as he opened the front door to his house.

"No, you're pretty much pathetic all the time," Nathan's father said with a gentle smile as he stepped into the house. Nathan's dad knelt and hugged him tight, "Missed you buddy.. how are ya feeling?"

Nathan blushed a bit and squirmed as his dad hugged him tight, and I smiled, ruffling his head fur. "I was a bit sore," Nathan said, shifting from foot to foot and rubbing his rump a bit, "But now I'm ok... for the most part. Just a bit of emotional scarring." He stepped back and clung to me tightly, "As long as Alan is here though... I feel safe."

His father smiled and stood back up, stretching his arms above his head and nodding. "I bet you do, and I'm glad." He looked around at the rest of my family and his eyes fell on Steven. He knelt in front of the kit and smiled, "Ya know.. I saw you going in and out of that hospital room but I don't think we ever officially met..." he held out his paw to the kit and smiled, "I'm Cory."

*Author's Note: It's been so long since I've written this, that I forget if I gave his father a first name. If I did before, please correct me! :D*

The kit blushed a bit and shyly took the older fox's paw and shook it. "I'm Steven," he said meekly, turning his face to the ground. Nathan's father grinned a bit and said, "Ya know... we've got some pretty fun games in the living room if you wanna play... or maybe watch some cartoons on our TV? It's preeetttyy big." He said with a smile.

Steven just smiled a bit, his tail wagging and he said, "Do you have a gamecube?"

"No," Nathan's father said with a smile, "But Nathan has got a Wii up in his room if he wants to go get it."

Nathan looked at me and kissed me on the cheek before padding off to his room to get the Wii. I looked at his father and smiled a bit looked around, chewing my lip nervously. "Where's the Mrs?"

Nathan's father looked at me and shrugged a bit, "She's in the kitchen making dinner. Why do you want to know?"

I shrugged and began to head towards the kitchen. "I'm going to go talk to her."

Nathan's father grabbed me by the shoulder and he looked me in the eye, "I'm not one hundred percent sure that's a good idea."

I hesitated a bit and said, "I know it's not a good idea.. but I need to talk to her."

He looked at me for one second longer before saying, "As long as you know what you're doing."

I nodded my head hesitantly before walking through the hallway towards the kitchen. It felt so nice to be back in Nathan's house after so long. I had forgotten how much I loved it. I opened the door to the kitchen and stepped inside hesitantly. His mother was at the stove, cooking, the spoon in her paw stirring furiously as she grumbled under her breath.

She heard the door open and she looked up at me, and scowled. "The fuck are you doing in here?" she said simply. This was the woman I had come to know as Nathan's mother recently, but I could still remember her when she was kind.

I hesitated before stepping into the kitchen and saying, "I just wanted to talk."

She scowled and went back to her cooking, "We have nothing to talk about."

I reached out and put my paw on her shoulder and said, "Please... just let me talk."

She growled and shook my paw off of her shoulder and said, "You don't need to touch me to talk."

I sighed softly and sat down at the Island, across from her on the other side of the stove. "I know your afraid of werewolves," I started out, looking at her and crossing my paws and resting them on the table, "And I know that's why you don't like me being around Nathan, and I just wanted to let you know that I know how you feel."

"How could you know I feel?" she said with a scowl, slamming her fists onto the table. "You ARE a werewolf."

"So that means I can't be afraid of them?" I snapped back at her, "I'm bloody TERRIFIED of werewolves!" I practically shouted at her, "You know how much it sucks, having to go to that metal box every month? Being stuck in there for two hours of conscious memory and then having left over memories of bashing my shoulders against the walls for an entire night?

"I HATE what I am," I told her, "I hate having to stab myself in the arm twice a day, I hate feeling drowsy half the time because of how many drugs I'm on, and I hate the fact that, no matter what I do or how I do it, I'll NEVER be able to live a normal life again. I'll always have to go in to that room once a month!"

"But," I said, looking her right in the eye, "I regret NOTHING. I understand your fear. Your parents were both killed because they were bitten and not diagnosed because of the times, and that had to be terrifying, especially for you to find them that way. But I," I said quietly, "I am a werewolf now because of a stupid mistake that me and my girlfriend made."

I looked at her and said, "I have never told anyone this story, and even Travis only knows a little bit of it. It was the last day of classes before those who left Brookwood for the Summer would be leaving." I started the story, "My girlfriend at the time, Alicia, was one of those who would be going back. As such, I and she intended a party that was hosted by one of the Sergeants. One thing about these parties, is that there is always alcohol."

I took a deep breath before continuing, "As such... me and Alicia got absolutely hammered." I said, "and we left the party.. and stumbled out through the trees a bit until she stopped me." My heart was hammering in my chest as I continued, "She wanted it as much as I did," I said, giving his mother a very meaningful look, "And before either of us knew what was happening, we were giving each other our virginities."

I sighed softly and looked at the ground, "Unfortunately for us, it was the full moon. The sounds of our grunting and groaning caused a werewolf who was nearby to be attracted to us." I turned my head and looked off to the side, "When it came out of the bushes, my first instinct was to throw myself at it while she ran. And she did." I said, "The sergeant saw her running from the trees for help and he rushed right back in."

I turned my head back to her and said, "If it wasn't for the fact that he always carried his Colt on him, I'd be dead instead of just a werewolf." I pulled my shirt up and showed her the scar on my shoulder where the werewolf had bitten me, "I was lucky to catch it by the jaws and fought it for a bit before he finally clamped down on my shoulder."

I sighed softly and said, "The sergeant saved me from dying, but nothing could stop me from becoming a werewolf. That's why I'm in this town, because it's got the only efficient and save werewolf clinic in the country."

She was staring in disbelief, while I was telling my story for the most part she had been listening while stirring our dinner and finally she stopped staring and looked down at the chili. "I see," she said simply, chewing on her lip a bit. "Maybe I've been too harsh," she said softly after about a minute of silence. She looked at me and then back down at the food, "I didn't realize.. I never..." she sighed softly and then said, "Does it hurt?"

"Does what hurt?" I asked.

"The... transformation." She said as she looked at me.

I squirmed a bit but nodded my head, "It does. It hurts like every bone in my body is being stretched and changed into the shape of the werewolf."

She shook her head a bit and then sighed. "Listen," she said, pointing the spoon at me, "I can't make myself be comfortable around you," she said simply, "But I'll certainly try... for the sake of my family, and for my son." She said.

I sighed in relief and said, "Thank you... and I'll do my best to make sure that you never have to experience another werewolf experience in your life.

She shook her head a bit and said, "I don't know how you expect to do that, but thank you for whatever attempts you make. Now get out of here," she said, waving with her spoon, "I need to finish dinner."

I smiled a bit and turned to leave, stepping out of the door and immediately bumping into Nathan who meeped and fell on his rump. He jumped up a bit and blushed softly as he looked at me. He had tears in his eyes and he said, "Alan... I..." he couldn't finish, his voice cracking up before he could and he threw his arms around me.

I held him right back, my eyes closed as I squeezed him tight and said, "Sweetheart, there's no reason to cry."

"It's just..." he said with a snuffle, "I never realized... it must have been so hard for you."

I smiled gently at him and I kissed him on the nose as we walked to the living room. We stood in the doorway for a moment before I said, "It was hard for me... but it's ok, because I have you now."

He giggled a bit and wiped his eyes before we moved into the living room and sat on the couch. Nathan's father was playing Mario Kart with Steven and my mother was sitting and chatting with Travis. I couldn't help but smile and look at Nathan, giving him one more kiss on the cheek. "I can't help but feel like everything is going to be so much better now..." Nathan said, looking up at me with a big grin.

I couldn't help but agree with him.
