The Search for Sylveon
A trainer has a need to capture a Sylveon for his own.. "collection." However how can he do it when capturing them is still illegal? Will he be caught or will he capture one of the Pokemon of his recent dreams?
During one warm Spring night, a small house seemed to be completely empty. Not a single sound could be heard coming from the inside, however there was one small hint that there was a person inside of the house. In one of rooms on the side, there was one bright light inside of the small room. Inside of the room, there was simply one male with his laptop sitting on his lap and a notepad off to his side. The male was twenty-two years old, taking notes every now and then as he scrolled through a few tabs on his laptop.
What did he seem so interested in to be up during the night, alone, and writing down notes? Well, it would be easy to figure out with a bit of information on his background. The male, whose name was Jamie, was a Pokemon trainer. Well, that is what he started out as when he turned sixteen. Unlike many of the other trainers that came from his town, many of which were his friends, he didn't care for going on a journey.
Instead, he started off by wanting to have Pokemon to hang around with since all of his friends left. His first Pokemon was an Eevee, a happy and energetic female which never left his side for the four years before things started to change for him. During the latter part of those four years, he began to see his Eevee in a new light. It had turned from his best friend that he loved to hang out with, to someone he wanted to get.. intimate with. Each of them whether it was the Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon which were on his left slide. Or on the right side which currently housed his Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon, and Leafeon. At the end, there was another bar that had been recently added. Why? It was due to what he had been researching, what he had been looking for. What it was, was Sylveon. Tomorrow would be the day where he goes out into the forest close to his house where there had been reports of a few of the new Eeveelution running wild. Nobody had managed to capture one yet, mostly due to the new law that prohibited anyone from capturing it while research was still going on. However tomorrow it was going to rain, the perfect opportunity for him to capture it while all of the researchers were out of the forest.
Thinking about tomorrow was starting to get Jamie excited, however it was too late for him to have a bit of fun with one of his females. He picked up his collection of Ultra balls, about ten in total, not sure about how many he would need. He wasn't sure how hard it would be to capture it, but he wanted to be sure he had enough.
Along with the unused Ultra balls, he picked up two normal Pokeballs. These were of his own already captured Pokemon. Walking down to the basement like he had done last night, he checked in on his females. Most of them were already awake aside from Eevee and Leafeon who usually liked to sleep in late. Lucky for them, they weren't the ones he needed for the day. Unting the collars of Vaporeon and Glaceon, he returned them to their pokeballs to finish his preparation.
Leaving his house a few moments after he gathered up his two Pokemon, it took him about fifteen minutes for him to reach a deeper part into the woods. Now he couldn't be seen from the road or any other of the houses around the wooded area, this is where his search would really begin. The sightings of Sylveon had been spotty over the past few weeks, but deeper into the woods are where many of the sightings happened. None of the pages he had read had given him an estimate of how deep it was, figuring it would be to stop people like him trying to capture one. But that wasn't going to deter him, not one bit. If he needed to be out here all day, he was going to capture one.
It took him about two hours of searching around the woods for him to actually find something close to what he was looking for. He had come across pokemon such as Teddiursa and other usual Pokemon you'd find in this type of region. However out of the corner of his eye he spotted a four legged splash of pink. Beginning to stalk it quietly, he called out Vaporeon as he was ready for his chance. Reaching a clearer area of the forest, he took a look around to make sure this was the battleground he had been searching for. The ground was soft thanks to the heavy rainfall of the morning. This meant that it would be harder for the Sylveon to flee in case his attacks missed. Trees and roots were surrounding the circular area, however there were none inside of the zone. And of course, it was deep enough in the forest where he was sure they had complete privacy. Before it was too late, Jamie launched the attack once Sylveon had reached the area.
Before Sylveon could even realize what was going on, Vaporeon had launched a Water Gun to the other Pokemon. Sylveon was caught off guard, being hit from behind and being launched forward. It was able to stay up, however the excess water on it's fur did hurt it's sight and how fast it could move. That was one of the reasons Jamie had chose Vaporeon. Being a natural in this type of weather, the rain would increase Vaporeon's water type attacks and not hinder her performance in any way.
His strategy was simple, use the environment and weather to his advantage. Sylveon had taken damage, but it was still well enough to fight for its freedom. Beginning to charge at Vaporeon, the water type jumped out of the way of the other's Take Down. Due to the speed Sylveon was coming in at, there was nothing it could do as it's paws couldn't get any grip on the grass and mud under his paws. This caused it to fall to the ground, leaving itself open to another attack by Vaporeon. The female took the opportunity, running forward and slamming against the Sylveon with a powerful Take Down of her own. Sylveon slid and tumbled across the open area, struggling now to return itself to its paws. Vaporeon knew the end was here, deciding to finish it off quickly. Wasting no time, she set herself quickly practically glaring at her almost defeated opponent across from her. Digging her paws into the mud, she called out in victory before firing her most powerful attack. The mass amount of water, a Hydro Pump, quickly reached Sylveon and sent the now defeated Pokemon to the edge of the treeline. Sylveon wasn't moving now, defeated completely almost without any fight. As Jamie and Vaporeon approached ready for the capture, it was now that Jamie noticed something he was too excited about to notice before.
As he looked Sylveon over from it's pink ears down to its pink tail, there was something he had looked over before. He moved behind the defeated pokemon, moving the pink tail out of the way to make sure his finding was real. Pocketing his new Sylveon into his waistband, he knew his search needed to continue. Returning his dirty Vaporeon into her Pokeball, he started to go deeper into the forest. As his search continued, he noticed that the rain was starting to lighten up. It was still coming down at a good pace, but he didn't want to chance rely on the weather for how much time he had left. It was another two hours of searching before something finally caught his attention. Just as he was about to stop to snack on some berries he had found earlier, he saw another glimpse of pink just as he had when he found the first Sylveon. He never expected to find two of them in one day, figuring that his luck had run out when he found the male.
Just like before, he started to stalk his finding. However this one was much easier to sneak up behind than the male from earlier. Behind a thick tree which he found was perfect to hide behind for now, he evaluated the scene in front of him. Sylveon had stopped to take a drink of water from a pond that was surrounded by trees on the opposite side. It wasn't a clear area like before, knowing there was some elevated ground behind them, seeing it sloped into a hill off to the right and was leveled off to the left. Through the trees he had no clue about what it looked like on the other side of them.
However aside from the terrain he made sure to study, he also studied the Sylveon. It seemed like it was decently matured, not too old or not too young. But even more important to him was what he could see from behind it. The ground around them was saturated with water from the rainfall, making it that much easier to free and give Glaceon an advantage. Instead of starting off by attacking Sylveon, he worked on making the surroundings better for Glaceon and to limit the chance of Sylveon running away. Glaceon started off by creating a wall of Ice on either side, cutting off any escape route to the East and the West. Sylveon was slow to react, quickly turning around just in time to see two of the four possible directions she could have run away to now blocked off by a wall of ice. Since the other direction was barricaded by Jamie and Glaceon, that only left one direction where she could have gone. Jamie noticed this, quickly calling out to Glaceon to freeze the pond. Sylveon had already started to jump into the water, however before she could land, Glaceon focused her Ice Beam onto the second half of the pond she had tried to jump into. Sylveon had finally struggled onto her paws, but it was enough was a problem for her now to even keep herself standing. Glaceon didn't want this opportunity to falter. However she still couldn't move, making her just easy pickings now. Glaceon charged in once again off of Jamie's command, slamming into Sylveon with a simple Tackle attack. Sylveon slid across the frozen pond now, slamming into a tree at the edge of it. Jamie quickly pulled out another Ultra Ball, tossing it to the female once again.
He watched closely as the same sequence of events happened once again. She was forced into the ball as it began to shake. One, two... as there was a short gap in time before the third shake and it stopped completely. Jamie called out in victory as his target had been captured. Not only one Sylveon, but he was now going to be able to go home with two of them and a plan to bring in money in the near future. Congratulating Glaceon on a job well done, he returned her to her ball and began the walk back to his house which would take a few hours. As the sun had about completely set, Jamie had finally reached his home once again. Pulling a key out of his right pocket, he unlocked his front door and stepped inside of his house. Jamie locked the door behind him, not expecting any company like usual before he walked deeper into the house. The first thing he did was head back down to the basement, feeling the exhaustion getting stronger with every step he took. Entering the room with his other females, he was too tired to do anything more than give them a hello and tie Glaceon and Vapreon back to their pokes. Once that was done, he went back upstairs where he entered his bedroom, removing the two Pokeballs from his waistband and adding them to the collection of Pokeballs which were for each of his other Pokemon. Of course they were still down in the basement, glad that he had given them enough food and water so they could go the entire day without needing to be refilled.
Jamie left his room after adding the Pokeballs onto the counter, going across the hall where he flipped on the light switch which illuminated his bathroom. Not needing to close that door, he decided to leave the door open to help keep the house at a constant cool temperature. Starting up the water and letting it warm up, he took the time now to remove his dirty and smelly clothing before jumping into the shower for a well deserved cleaning.
The shower was a quick one, having yawned multiple times during it as the exhaustion started to overcome his body. As the sun rose for the start of a new day, Jamie had overslept a few hours due to how relaxing his sleep had been. As his eyes cracked open slowly, he already had an idea of how the first few hours of his day was going to go.
