Matheau and Beijore 12: The Ritual of Change

Matheau and Beijore are copy written to me, so please don't use them without my written consent. This story was long in coming, and I apologize for making you all wait. This is a yiffless story, so its okay for the younguns to read.

Beijore awoke early the next day. She had a lot of work to do in order to make sure that everything went perfectly in the ritual. The margin for error was very small in this ritual, and she could afford no mistakes. And there were a lot of risks involved as well. Most of which she had yet to discuss with Matheau. Part of her was afraid when she did discuss it with him, he would not want to go through with it, maybe even leave them. As she walked outside into the crisp morning air, she scolded herself. How could she even begin to entertain such thoughts? She stretched her sapphire wings wide. It felt good to have the early sun falling down upon her opened wings, warming her. Her mind continued to race as she went to gather large sticks in order to use them as torches for the ritual.

The ritual itself was fairly simple, though rarely used. The pain would be immense, both physically and mentally for the both of them. For starters, Matheau's body size and shape would change dramatically. And while that was taking place, scales would be sprouting from his body. Lastly, his internal organs would shift around, and she was fairly sure that some new ones would be born. She was so lost in her thoughts that she hadn't even noticed Matheau exit the cave and walk up beside her. She nearly jumped out of her scales when he laid his hand on her hind flank. "I thought you would still be asleep, Matheau." Beijore said distractedly.

"Now love, you know that I can't sleep when you're not at my side." Beijore couldn't help but smile, but the smile soon faded away. "Matheau.....you know that tonight is the full moon." Beijore paused. "And it is also the night for the ritual." "I'm very excited love." Matheau said. "It's a dream come true. And I can finally....." Beijore pushed a finger to Matheau's lips. "Matheau...... I want you to be sure that this is what you want." Beijore was becoming choked up, and it was becoming difficult to speak. "Once it is done, I cannot change you back." Matheau looked at Beijore as if she had slapped him. "Beijore.....Do you not want me to stay with you?" Now it was Beijore's turn to recoil. "Of course I do! And so do our children. But Matheau......There are a lot of things I didn't tell you. It's going to be extremely......" Matheau then held her muzzle closed and looked deeply into her glowing emerald orbs.

"Beijore, darling......No matter how much pain I have to endure...I....am not......leaving you or our babies. I love you more than anything. I was once told that true love conquers all. For the longest time, I didn't believe that. But now I do. And it's all because of you. If I had not come up this mountain and found you, I would still be all alone....I wouldn't have you......and I wouldn't have three beautiful children." All throughout his speech, Beijore just listened, and then silent tars began to roll down her cheeks.

Everything he said was truth and her heart was near bursting with her love for him. She began to realize more and more why she had fallen for him......the reason why she had not taken him for her meal when he came up the mountain. "Matheau....I......." "Shhhhhh....." Matheau said. "Let's get everything set up and we'll talk about it after the ritual." Beijore nodded in agreement and they went about setting up the torches for the ritual. "Love....I want the children to watch." Matheau said. "I don't want them to be surprised and frightened in the morning." Beijore said nothing, but nodded in agreement. As the day progressed, little was said between them. In fact, Matheau stayed pretty much hidden most of the day.

"Are mother and father angry with each other?" Aurokhan asked his sister Jocelyn. "I do not know, brother." Jocelyn said. "Your guess is as good as mine. But I've never seen them even raise their voices to one another." Finally, night fell. It was a clear night, and the moon was full, the sky ablaze with what seemed to be millions of stars. Beijore gathered the children without a word to them and herded them outside. For the first time in hours, she finally spoke. "Aurokhan......Jocelyn.......Sasha. You are to sit here, watch, and above all, remain quiet." She waited until they had showed they understood before continuing. "I am going to perform a ritual that will change your father, and he wanted you to watch so you wouldn't be scared. No matter what happens, you must remain quiet, and don't worry about your father." "Yes mother." They all said in unison. She then started to light the torches with gentle breaths of her flame. Matheau walked out of cave into the circle of torches. He was almost naked, wearing only a cloth around his nether regions. When Matheau was in the center of the torches, Beijore began to pace around the torches slowly. She started to chant in the ancient draconic tongue, building her magical energies.

The children watched wordlessly as their mother entered the circle and circled her body around their father's. Her chanting became louder, and both of their bodies were beginning to glow with a pale light. Matheau's eyes closed and his lips began to move wordlessly. None of the children could tell if he was trying to follow Beijore's chant, or reciting one of his own. Beijore was beginning to become magically fatigued. She was pouring everything she had into the spell, and a single moment seemed like hours. And then.......her part was over. Exhausted, she stepped out of the circle and lay down shakily. Aurokhan tried to rush to his mother, but his sisters stopped him. "No matter what." They mouthed to him. He sat down, but a loud cry from his father got him back to his feet. Matheau's skin itched and felt as though it were on fire. It also felt as though his body were being pulled apart. He fell to his knees and hugged himself. It was then he felt the rigid scales on his body. It was happening!! Gods it hurt, but it was finally happening!

He cried out in pain as he was forced to bend over and stand on his hands and feet. He was growing larger, of that he was sure. When he felt the flesh of his back rip open and heard the snap of wings opening, he screamed out with a sound that was far less human and more the screech of a wounded dragon. Beijore was panting with fatigue, watching the transformation of her mate. His growth had finally stopped, and he was almost done. But the most painful part was yet to come. Looking over to her babies, they were all crying. When she motioned to them, they ran to her and sobbed, nuzzling her. Meanwhile, Matheau's innards felt like they were going to burst. Suddenly, he felt another rip of his flesh, but this time it was his rump as a tail sprouted. But that was nothing compared to the pain he felt as talons started to sprout from his four fingers and toes. He roared out in his agony. Not a human scream, but a full and throaty roar that filled the valley. Finally, after what seemed an eternity of pain, it was all over. Matheau laid in a heap in the circle of torches, a full dragon at last. Ruby red scales reflected the light of the torches. Just a little bigger than Beijore, he was thirty-eight feet in length. He tried to speak, but found his tongue wouldn't work.

Beijore got up and lay gingerly next to her sore mate. "You will need to re-learn all basic functions as a dragon, my beloved husband. But we will sleep now and worry about all that tomorrow." The children came and moved between their parents carefully. And that is how they slept together, five dragons curled together underneath the moon.
