Facility 1.E

When I woke up, there were several things that I thought were weird. I had no idea where I was, for starters. A plain white room was waiting for me when I sat up, out of a box, at that! Nothing here was familiar, although I suppose when I didn't have anything to work with, nothing would be familiar. I seemed to have full amnesia, so I was literally empty-headed.

The thought made me chuckle a little bit. Of course, at the same time I wondered how I could be so calm at a time like this. I could feel my muzzle turned upright into a bit of a smile, and whenever I didn't think about it, that's how it would stay. What if I had been kidnapped or my life was in danger? Well, I was about to find out for certain.

I hauled myself up onto my feet, stepping carefully out of the box and looking around my environment. The first, and most obvious, was the graffiti on the wall. It was a message, obviously designed to be cryptic. How else could I take something like "Would you like to fix your mistakes?"

That was when the next weird thing happened. Simply processing those words in my mind caused my head to throb in pain. Could they be linked to my amnesia? I doubted it would do any good to think about it now, though. Not when there were other things to look at first, of course!

After that was the desk that was shoved away in the corner. It was about as bland as the rest of the room, but it did have a piece of paper on it, and not to mention a mirror above it. Perhaps I could finally get a clue as to who I was! I immediately looked into it, and let out a gasp as I saw myself.

It seemed I was a white-furred rabbit, wearing some pretty good-looking clothing. I was definitely "cute", with my charming smile and slim body. The only thing that didn't match my image was the cold, metallic bracelet that seemed to serve as little more than a weight on my left arm. Just looking at it didn't make much sense either; there were no buttons, and simply four zeroes in red on it. Just what was this thing supposed to be?

Again, I shoved the thought out of my mind. I'd have plenty of time to figure stuff out after looking at the paper. My eyes pored over the writing, though it was really just a sentence. But when it was something as dramatic as "Seek your past, Elizabeth Brown," well, let's just say it made me want to bounce up and down on my feet. Was Elizabeth Brown supposed to be my name? Why I would keep the last name Brown when I clearly had white fur was beyond me, though.

As fun as it was to think about everything I had seen, the sound of moving metal caught my attention first. I turned and saw a door opening, apparently the only way out. Considering my company was certainly pretty lacking, as well as the fact that I was probably being guided, I stepped right through it and into a cylindrical room.

When I walked out, I was shocked to see four other people coming out of four other respective rooms! First was a wolf, followed by an elderly lion and a badger, and then lastly a horse. The lion and the horse seemed pretty calm, although the latter seemed to be sizing everyone up. Meanwhile, the wolf looked a bit nervous, probably from the badger giving everyone the stink eye. He seemed kind of jerkish, really. If it weren't for him, I probably would've introduced myself first, but I doubt the badger would've liked that very much. So, naturally, he went first.

"So what the fuck's going on here, huh? Who the hell are you people?"

Looks like I was right. He was a jerk! I was about to say something, at least until the elderly lion cleared his throat.

"I would say it is more polite if you were to introduce yourself first, if you are planning on asking us for all our names."

The badger was probably one of those rebellious types. At the very least he didn't seem that interested in being polite to those who were older than him. After giving the lion a bit of a scoff, he answered.

"Tch, fine. My name's Damon Grants. What about you, gramps?"

The lion let out a little bit of a chuckle. Apparently, he was used to dealing with people like Damon before. I wondered if he actually remembered who he was... Although his voice shook me out of my thoughts.

"Ah, my name is Anton Brandt. Feel free to call me whatever you like."

With their names noted in my mind, I figured now was as good as time as any to introduce myself. I kinda jumped around a bit, hoping to draw everyone's attention. I felt the cheer building up inside of me, and I let it out immediately.

"Okay, so, my name's Elizabeth Brown, but cause that's so long, you can just call me Liz! It's a pleasure to meet you all!"

Okay, maybe that was too much cheer. I wouldn't be surprised if they all thought I was some sort of weirdo now or something. We were all probably kidnapped, have amnesia, and here this rabbit is all bouncy and energetic. But if they thought anything of it, they didn't show it, instead looking at the horse and expecting her to introduce herself.

"I'm Sandra Lewis. It's a pleasure."

Probably the briefest introduction, unless the wolf managed to beat her. Since he was the last one, everyone quickly looked at him for his name. He seemed a little nervous, although it didn't seem because he was a shy person. I gave Damon a quick look, only to see him scowling. No wonder the poor guy was hesitant. His tail seemed to flick a little bit, like he was anticipating danger. Despite it, he spoke in probably the meekest voice out of all of us.

"Uh, I'm Richard Lyte... I think."

What what was that supposed to mean? He wasn't sure of his own name? Well, to be fair, I guess I wasn't either. I was about to ask, but Anton quickly stepped in and asked for me. I watched Richard closely as he slowly thought about his response.

"Well... I'm not really sure of anything about myself. The only reason I knew my name was because of that sheet I found in the room I woke up in. So whether or not that really is my name..."

I shrieked. To think there was someone else who had amnesia here! Before I knew what I was saying, I started to ramble.

"You mean, you can't remember anything either? Oh wow, what a relief! For a moment there, I thought I was gonna be the only one here who was drawing a total blank."

Although I was smiling widely, it seems that everyone else was shifting around uncomfortably. It looked like they were in the same position Richard and I were in. Of course, it was Anton who spoke up again to make sure. And judging from the scowls that were growing on Damon's and Sandra's faces, it was pretty obvious he was dead on.

"So we all have amnesia... I doubt anyone knows exactly why we're here then?" I voiced my thoughts aloud.

"The graffiti in the room I woke up in mentioned something about fixing our mistakes. Perhaps that should be where we start," Sandra said, back to her usual calm.

"I also assume we're meant to try and remember who we are," Anton added, "let us not forget the paper on the desk. It said 'seek your past', after all, at least if everyone here had their room be setup the same as mine."

Damon scoffed as soon as he heard the words. He slowly tilted his head back and forth, probably to take in the entirety of the cylindrical room. By the time he finished, he spoke up.

"And how the hell are we supposed to do that? Do they expect us to just sit around until our memory comes back like magic? What a load."

It was pretty obvious what the badger was talking about. A simple look around the room revealed that it was completely bare; nothing visible on the walls or floor. At least, at first inspection. I walked around the room, running my paw along the wall to see if there was any sort of secret button or passage or anything.

The others took my lead and started searching as well, although probably a bit more in-depth than I was. Anton and Richard helped look around the walls with me, while Damon and Rachel shuffled across the floor looking for something there. It was honestly kinda funny seeing them moving on their hands and knees, so I had to hold back a bit of laughter.

It was pretty obvious within a few minutes that none of our searches had been fruitful. Not even a single grunt of discovery came from anyone, so when we all grouped up back in the center, our spirits had fallen even farther.

As expected, Damon was the first to speak.

"There's fucking nothing in here! What the hell are we supposed to do!?"

It's a question that I wanted answers to, that's for certain.
