It started with me falling, falling from a height that I'm not sure how I could reach it. Eventually though I landed on a piece of stained glass that neither cracked nor shattered despite the rough impact. I stood up and found myself staring at six pedestals. Each one had a different thing on it. The one directly in front of me had a blade floating above it and on either side were a bow and dagger. To the left of the bow was a staff with a strange crystal atop it. To the right of the dagger was a whip that seemed to almost be made out of thorns. To the left of the staff was a hammer that was larger than I am tall. To the right of the whip was a pair of gloves with blades over the knuckles.

I slowly approached the sword and grabbed it only to hear a melodious voice say "The blade, tool of heroes, tool of kings, and tool of villains is this, your choice young warrior?" I slowly nodded and pulled the blade out of the pillar only to have it vanish from my hand. I glanced around but the other pillars were still there, only the blade and the pillar it had been stationed upon were gone. I studied the rest of the items as the voice said "You have three tools you may take with you, and three you must discard. Choose the first you will discard now, and remember that it was your own choice that it's gone." I grabbed the knife which felt, evil, to me and slammed it into the pillar watching as they vanished.

I walked over to the bow next and took it hearing the voice say "The bow, a weapon long used by the king's men and to keep families fed, is this your second choice?" I pulled it out of the light in answer and as with the sword it vanished. This left the hammer, the gloves, and the whip. I slowly walked to the hammer and heard the voice say "So you chose to discard the knife and now the hammer weapons of the smith and the thief, interesting choices child." I ignored the voices as I slammed the hammer down upon its pedestal cracking it and making both vanish.

Finally I chose the gauntlets as my last weapon ignoring the woman's comments this time as they appeared on my fists and the whip vanished with its own pedestal. The woman laughed and said "The blade of light, the bow of air, and the gauntlets of fire, interesting choices. I wonder what else there is about you besides these attributes." I noticed a weight on my back and glanced back to see that the sword had reappeared there. A bow was next to it accounting for the weight on my shoulder and a weight on my hip, which, when I looked down, turned out to be a quiver of arrows.

I noticed that there was a stairway of light before me and slowly ascended it gently punching the air to test my gauntlets before stringing my bow and placing an arrow on it. I don't know why I placed the arrow to the string; I just knew that it felt like the smart thing to do. I caught sight of something silver flashing ahead of me and let loose the arrow at it. I let three more arrows loose at the silver thing, or things, as they crossed my vision. I slowly placed my bow on my shoulder and drew my blade rushing forward and upward. I landed on another stain glass platform. This one had a dragon breathing flames on it, and the silver things were all over.

One that looked like a giant lion rushed at me and I slammed my blade through it cleaving it in two. It fell then vanished from sight and the rest studied me seeming surprised that I was there. I swung the blade and said "Next? I mean obviously he's not the only one that wanted me down." A boar charged at me and I swung at it cutting one of the tusks as it swerved to the side. I jumped back and swung again as it came for a second rush only to have it slice my arm open to the bone. I swore loudly and strapped my blade to my back then punched the thing leaving gaping holes in its face from my gauntlets.

It squealed in pain then snorted and rushed me again. I punched it again swearing vehemently as I tried to dodge around its tusk. I finally grabbed both the broken and the unbroken tusk and vaulted onto the things back then slammed down crushing the vertebrate in its back and causing it to fall and spread eagle. I kept punching it until its back was ripped apart then slowly climbed off it and turned to find that the other silver things were starting to slowly stand up on their hind legs and shift.

I swore softly and said "What the hell is going on, what are these things?" A voice let out a lilting laugh and I sighed realizing it had no answers then turned to face the creatures. The closest to me was a horse however it had shifted to seem more humanoid and had fists rather than bare hooves, the one behind it was a fox with its claws bared that stood over five feet tall, and the last was a dragon that stood well over eight feet tall and watched me carefully. The horse suddenly pulled on a pair of gauntlets and got into a boxing stance facing me.

I slowly popped every joint in my arms, neck, shoulders, back, and even my knees. I faced the thing and motioned for it to come on then we rushed at each other. I ducked under its first punch and slammed my fist into its jaw leaving gaping holes then it slammed a fist into my stomach knocking me back. I held my stomach coughing up a small bit of blood then slammed my fist into the creature's chest knocking it back and leaving a few holes. It rushed at me again and I slammed my fist into its face breaking the bridge of its nose and causing it to snort out blood. I punched it again as it rushed at me, knocking it back toward the edge of the ring. I rushed forward and punched it again knocking it off growling softly.

I turned around and had to dive to the side as the fox swung its sword down where I'd been not ten seconds ago. I drew my blade and locked blades with the fox growling softly and taking a step back as it pressed forward. I pushed back as our blades slid down to the hilt of each other's blade and said "What the hell are you?" The creature didn't respond and I just broke the clench and jumped back thrusting my blade forward, the fox twisted my blade to the side with its own and cut my arm open so I was now bleeding from both arms. I glared at the thing and ducked as it swung at my head, then slammed my blade forward cracking the fox's in three places.

The fox swung at me and I caught its blade on my own then twisted my wrist sending the blade flying before slamming forward and spearing the thing down to the floor and it slowly faded. I quickly rolled to the side as fire blasted the spot I'd been kneeling not ten seconds before. I pulled my bow off my shoulder and started firing pot shots at the dragon that dodged them easily and rolled out of the way as it blasted fire at me. We faced each other and I released another couple shots one of which actually pierced the dragon's wing catching its attention I had to roll as it released waves of fire where I'd just been at.

I growled releasing more arrows and the thing started breathing fire all across the path which I dodged only getting singed on my back then released one more arrow that caught the thing under the chin. It started coughing and hacking and fell to the ground where I picked up my sword from the slain Fox and severed its head causing it to vanish. The ground started shaking and I fell off the side as it turned sideways then landed on a wooden platform with three pillars standing on top of it. I walked to the first pillar which said "Courage, Friendship, Leadership." Then walked to the other two pillars and studied them. One said "Strength, Anger, Pain," and the other said "Love, Compassion, Trust," the voice from before returned and said "Choose the pillar which represents you." I slammed my blade into the pillar that stated courage and watched as the pillars vanished taking my sword with them.

Three more pillars appeared and the voice said "Now choose your darkest qualities." I studied the pillars. There were three as before. One bore the words Sorrow, loneliness, Pain. The other two were Anger, darkness, despair, and the other bore Corruption, hatred, destruction. I slammed my fist into the one that bore corruption and a voice said "So you accept that you are corrupt but choose to lead. These decisions will influence you for all of eternity, are they your final answers?" I nodded and said "Yes." The voice laughed and faded as the world was engulfed in darkness and I heard the words "Breaker and Binder."
