Opposites

Nathan ran through the woods, destined to prove his point. His light brown hair being blown back by the wind. The boy's 17 year old, pale skinned, body covered in sweat. His skinny legs moving fast as his jeans and sweatshirt felt more like restraints as each second passed, his brown eyes lit up with childish delight. As he sprinted, the tree branches smacked him - but he didn't care, - today,  he was going to prove his sister wrong!

Claire chased after her brother; her idiot, childish brother. Claire tried to catch up, her strawberry-blond hair whipping backwards. The 17 year old's jean shorts and red and white stripped t-shirt causing her to fail to catch up to him, her petite figure not helping the fact. Her face held an scorned look as she ducked the flying tree branches, hating him from dragging him here - cursing her brother.

Yes, they were brother and sister - Twins, infact. Fraternal, but still twins. They had completely different lives - Claire was popular, Nathan was a social reject. Claire was snobby and picked on anyone who wasn't popular, Nathan was open-minded and who helped anyone who needed it - and Claire often picked on him for it. Both picked different sides - Claire, a snobby girl and Nathan, a nerd.

Right now, the two were in Ilex Forest, right outside of Azalea town. Ilex forest was a target for various rumors - murders and suicides abound. Nathan had heard them all - but he didn't care. Ilex forest was his personal hangout, he'd made friends with all the pokemon. At first they feared he would capture him, but overtime they learned they could trust him - Nathan even saving them from Team Rocket and unruly trainers. Claire's friends used to go to the forest and beat Nathan up, but after a few times, the pokemon began to attack them, saving Nathan. "Nathan you little idiot, wait up!" She yelled at the running boy. Earlier that day, Nathan had ran straight home - not even bothering to take the bus. He ran into her room and started to shout about some 'Amazing Ninetales' and ran out of his room. Fearing his safety (More that if he died, her parents would blame her), she chased after him. She hated Ilex forest and all it's inhabitants - she hated all pokemon. She didn't understand how Nathan could even look at one - let alone touch one. To her, they were just animals - beasts. Thankfully (for her... and only her), Their parents didn't allow Nathan to have any 'pets' (Nathan preferred to call them 'friends')

Claire heard Nathan stopped as she hurried to catch him. After a few moments the two were standing next to each other. They were in a medium-sized field shaped like a circle located in what seemed to be the middle of Ilex forest. Around the six corners of the circle were strange - almost glowing - rocks. In the center was a strange rock... podium. "Nathan why in the HELL are we here?" The boy didn't say anything, instead just walking in front of the podium "I swear i saw this wonderful, beautiful Ninetales! I guess it ran off..." Claire crossed her arms "Well why couldn't you just capture it!"

"Claire, i don't capture pokemon, they're my friends!"

"Nathan, get this through your tiny little skull; Pokemon are just animals, nothing more."

"No Claire, they're my friends! If you saw that Ninetales, you'd think of pokemon the same way i do!"

"Oh for Arceus's sake it's like talking to a child!"

"Just wait here, i promise that Ninetales will show up."

"FINE, but if it doesn't, you're doing my homework for a week."

"Great! Trust me, today's going to be an enlightening day!" Nathan grabbed Claire's hands and sat her down on the podium

After an hour, Claire was starting to give up. "It's not coming Nathan, just give up, nothings going to happen." She said getting up. "I'll see you at-" Claire said before Boom! A giant bolt of lightning came down from the sky, sending Nathan and Claire flying back towards the trees. "Oww..." Nathan stammered before looking up. There, on the pedestal, stood a large, glowing Ninetales. It seemed like a normal Ninetales, maybe a bit bigger and instead of nine tails, it had about 36! There it was, the Ninetales he saw! HA! Claire was wrong! He couldn't wait to rub it in. "Claire, look!" The girl began to groan "What..." Claire said as she looked up "It's the Ninetales i saw!" He yelled as the pokemon walked over to them. "It's walking over to us..." Nathan trailed off "Oh thanks Nathan, you brought me to the forest just to become a snack for a giant fox!"

"Do not fear, i am not going to eat you." A voice said

"D-did you just... talk" Nathan said, barely managing to get his words out

"Of course it didn't talk Nathan! Either we're hallucinating or it's Trainer is just playing a joke on us."

"Neither is true, I am speaking your language. No human owns me."

"Then... don't take this as an insult, but... what are you?"

"I am the Ninetales Goddess."

"T-The Ninetales Goddess! My pokemon friends told me about the legend of the ignorant Eevee and the legendary Ninetales! I didn't think it was true!"

"For Arceus sake Nathan, it's just a stupid prank! ...And the pokemon aren't your friends!"

"Yes they are!"

"No they aren't!"

"Yes they-"

"Silence" The Ninetales spoke, never changing it's tone "I can see that you two are... opposites."

"What do you mean?" Nathan asked

"You, girl, are rude and self-absorbed. You care only for yourself and hate anyone not like you." Claire scoffed lightly at this and was about to tell her off but was cut off by the very same pokemon in question "And you, boy, are kind to everyone you meet and put others first. You would die to save anyone - even your sister."

"How did you know..." Claire asked

"As i already told you, i am a goddess. I know everything."

"If you know everything, then whats my middle name?"

"Juniper."

"Lucky guess."

"What is your business with us, fair lady Ninetales?" Nathan said getting up and bowing at her.

"I have come to both give you something. For you" She said, guestering her head towards Nathan "It will be a gift. And for you" She did the same thing towards Claire "It will be... a curse."

"What will this gift be?" Nathan asked

"I will not tell you, but rather let the gift be bestowed upon. It shall be the same gift for both of you; the same gift but viewed a different way. But perhaps, in time, you will both be able to see it as a gift." The goddess explained

"Why does HE get a gift and I get a curse?!?!" Clair screamed

"Goodbye and Goodluck" And with that, the Ninetales disapeared "Wait!" Claire yelled. "AHHH! That stupid fox!" Claire started to go on a yelling tangent. Nathan, noticing his somewhat hysterical sister on a rampant rage induced episode, tried to calm her down. "Claire, CLAIRE!" He yelled, shaking her "It's going to be fine! I bet that Ninetales Goddess was just playing a joke on you! Everythings going to be- AAAAH!" Nathan was suddenly stopped by an indescribable pain... well it was like getting run over. Like getting beaten to death by a tireiron. Like bleeding to death while getting stabbed repeatedly

Nathan was soon on his knees, barely being able to hold himself up. "NATHAN" Claire yelled. She forgot all about her hated for her brother. She may be egotistic, but she still cares about him...  Nathan then fell to his side, trying to stop this pain. "Ohhh" He moaned. Then the changes began. He began to shrink. Claire noticed his skin starting to become more... golden-white. She noticed something coming from his waist - tails. 9 of them, all tipped with a light orange. The realization set in - Her brother was becoming... A Ninetales. He was going to be a pokemon! Then his face formed a muzzel with a black nose, his brown eyes changing to a ruby red. His golden skin becoming covered with fur, his ears then protruding from his head, all with his brown hair becoming a yellow mane. Then his arms and legs became long, his fingers becoming paws. The changes finishing with his chest growing a scruff. He was now, in a physical sense, a Ninetales. Claire stepped away from the transformed human. "N-Nathan?" She asked as the Ninetales struggled to get out of the clothes. Once free from the t-shirt and jeans prision, he started to look around, finding his eyes laying on Claire. "Claire?" The girl then ran over to him "What's wrong? And did you get taller?" He asked the trembling Claire. "You're... You're a.." Nathan then tried to shake the crazy out of her, but stopped when he noticed something; his hands were... paws. His ruby eyes looked down his body "A Ninetales." Claire dropped to her knees and hugged her brother. She cried into his fur while, not really knowing why.

"Ssssh, it's okay..."

"No Nathan it's not okay! You're... You're an animal! And soon enough, i'm going to be one too!" Claire yelled before tearing up again.

Nathan wanted to comfort her, to say everything was going to be fine... but he couldn't find the words. They just stayed there, Claire crying into his chest. They would've stayed there all night if not for the incoming rain. "Come on Claire, we gotta go find shelter." Nathan said as Claire didn't say anything, instead just hoisting herself onto his back.

After a few minutes, they (or rather Nathan, Claire was just slumped over his back, not saying a word) found an empty cave. Nathan set Claire down.

"Claire... i know you don't want to talk, but i want you to know something... Whatever happens, i won't leave you, i'll take care of you." She didn't say anything, but he swore he heard something like a whine

"Claire, are you okay?" Nathan asked as the girl just huffed. He didn't say anything, not wanting to bother her more. "Ughhhh..." His head shot towards her.  He then walked over to her. "Claire?" He asked as she groaned some more. Nathan tried to get her attention with his nose, until he noticed something different about her; he skin was covered with a strange, golden-white fur. Nathan just watched his transforming sister. After about 10 minutes, he notcing the shifting and the groaning stopped.

"Claire?" Something began to ruffle through the clothes. Notcing she was okay, he began to tear through the shirt with his sharp teeth. Once free, he saw his sister, the Ninetales. "Claire... Claire, can you speak?" He asked the Ninetales who was looking around the cave in a bit of a daze. "Nathan?" She asked

"Ya, Clair?"

"Am i..." She didn't want to continue

"Yes Claire... you're... a Ninetales." After hearing those words, the pokemon began to cry more.

"Hey, Hey, don't cry..."

"Nathan, l-look at me! I'm a dumb, ugly animal!"

"Claire... Claire, i don't think you're ugly..." He said as he used his long tongue to lick her cheek

"R-really?"

"Yes. Claire, i think you look really... nice."

"L-Like.. Beautiful?"

"Yes"

"Oh, uh... Thank you." She said, the words feeling weird on her tongue. When she was... human, she barely said the words. Now that she thought about it, she was being much nicer to Nathan than she had been in the past 10 years. Maybe it was the whole transformation thing, or maybe it was because he was taking care of her where any other of her friends would just call her a freak or run off... or both. But he was taking care of her, saying it would be okay, that he would take care of her - even saying she was beautiful. He was so kind and caring. She never felt this way about anyone really.

"Nathan?"

"Hmm?"

"You're a really good brother..."

"Thank you, you're a really great sister... well since the transformation" Nathan said as the Ninetales gave a giggle

"I was a real jerk, huh?"

"A little, but i think... the change's made you a better person"

"You don't think i'm not a jerk anymore?

"Not even a little-Mmph!" Nathan was then suddenly stopped by something odd; his sister pressing her lips against his. Nathan's eyes went wide with shock; his own sister was kissing him! After the first few seconds, Nathan just eased into it. He felt her tongue starting to wrap around his, her taste somehow... sweet. She began to moan into his mouth, obviously loving it. Claire had kissed a few boys before - Jocks who only wanted her for sex - but none them felt like this. The other boys just forced her but Nathan was allowing her to go at her own pace. She didn't care that he was her brother, She knew him as a brother and a lover. After a few minutes, they were forced to stop.

"Nathan, Panting, I love you"

"I Love, Panting you... too"

"Nathan..." She said as she collapsed the ground. "Claire..." He said as he did the same. They were soon wrapped in a loving embrace of paws and tails, sleeping through the stormy night and letting it wash away their old lives and let them begin their new ones.
