A Tricky Situation
#14 of Evens and Dante's Adventure in Unova
Hello again it's been a while. Well here is the next chapter of our hero's adventure.
A Tricky Situation
The situation had escalated very quickly. First was the egg hatching and now an Eevee had just appeared in front of them appearing to be injured. Dante sent out Fraxure, "bring the Eevee over here." Fraxure slowly stepped out into the sand storm and brought back Eevee. While they were distracted with the Eevee Evens didn't notice that the egg had finished hatching and a Rilou was sitting in a pile of broken egg shells. Just when Evens remembered about the egg Rilou was already in the air aiming for his face. In two seconds all that Evens could see was black. The next few seconds Evens was unable to breathe with Rilou latched onto his head. Dante was still preoccupied with the Eevee to notice Evens, Golett on the other hand was actively trying to get Rilou off of Evens head. It wasn't until Golett had slipped backward that Dante finally noticed Evens, "SHIT EVENS!" Dante hurried over and with Golett they both were able to pry Rilou off of Evens head. Evens was finally able to breathe again, "Golett hold Rilou, we have to figure out why the machine didn't change it back." Rilou was struggling to get free of Golett's grip; Evens then turned his attention to the Eevee. The Eevee looked like it had been in a few battles with patches of its fur matted in dried blood. Evens sent out Dewott, "Dewott gently use water gun we need to clean this Eevee to see if it's seriously injured."
After giving Eevee a quick wash Evens proceeded to check the Eevee for any serious injuries. After a few minutes Evens on discovered that the Eevee was a female and that it had only minor injuries. "Dante do we have a potion?" Dante rummaged through his pack before he brought out a small spray bottle and handed it to Evens. With the Eevee now in Evens lap he aimed the bottle at some of the wounds that still look fresh. Eevee only flinched at the first spray but was fine for the rest of the time. As Evens was spraying her she had fallen asleep from exhaustion. Dante scooted near Evens, "I've seen wounds like this before." Evens rubbed Eevee behind the ears drawing a soft sigh, "from where?" Dante looked down at Eevee, "from the dogs fights that we would run, granted she is in a lot better shape than most of the bait dogs we would use but her wounds are almost the same." "So you're saying that somebody used this Eevee as a bait Pokémon to rile up other Pokémon?" Dante nodded, "the bait dogs were usually torn apart though, she's really lucky to have gotten away before that happened." Golett tapped Evens on the shoulder, "master there are people approaching." Evens stood up, when he did he saw to figures drawing closer to them.
When they got close enough Evens could make out that it was two guys and they had two Pokémon leading them, a Crustle and a Krookodile. When they were close enough the smaller guy began talking, "hey guy's you wouldn't happen to have seen an Eevee around here have you?" before any of them could answer the Krookodile started growling while near Dante. The bigger guy started to walk toward Dante, "we're going to need that back." Evens turned toward Dante, "Golett protect." Golett stood in front of Dante and the unconscious Eevee while also handing him the now calm Rilou, "sorry but we can't let her go back to whatever it is that you two might be doing." The smaller guy spoke in a questioning tone, "and what is it that you think we are doing?" Dante proceeded to answer the question, "it appears that you are either running an illegal Pokémon fighting ring or you two are just the grunts that have to look for any runaway Pokémon, either way you're here to take back Eevee so she can continue being the bait Pokémon. If not then we have made a horrible mistake and we apologize." The big guy spoke, "Krookodile get the Eevee and that Rilou too." The smaller guy tried to make a move forward but was tackled by Evens, Golett hit Krookodile with a mega punch to try and knock him back.
Evens and the smaller guy were rolling around trying to get the upper hand on the other. Golett on the other hand was trying to get in a good shot but was unsuccessful as both Krookodile and Crustle would take turns attacking and dodging. Dante was a little lucky that the bigger guy had just stayed back to shout out orders to the Pokémon. Golett got hit with Krookodile's dark pulse that knocked Golett back into Crustle's X-Scizor which launched him into a nearby rock. Evens still trying to get the upper hand noticed Golett flying into the rock, "GOLETT!" with Golett out of the way Krookodile and Crustle drew closer too Dante. A huge shadow appeared out of nowhere and slammed right into Krookodile sending him tumbling thirty feet. The small guy squirmed out from Evens grip, "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING!" Evens stood up and saw the figure, just then his Pokédex buzzed, "Golurk the Automaton Pokémon, it is an ancient Pokémon that was given the job of guarding human settlements." Golurk was almost twice Evens size. The big guy ordered Crustle, "stop fucking around and use X-Scissor already!" Crustle turned toward Golurk and readied its attack. Evens had been reading Golurk's attacks which hadn't changed much other than the replacement of rollout and mud slap with magnitude and heavy slam. Crustle began to scurry toward Golurk when Evens called out an attack, "Golurk use magnitude." Golurk stomped the ground hard causing it to ripple outwardly, the attack launched Crustleinto the air, the attack was also able to hit Krookodile. Everyone else was trying to steady themselves until the attack was over; the small guy used the attack as an opportunity to get a few shots into Evens. The big guy not wanting to deal with the trouble any more ran away. The attack subsided and everyone gained their balance again. The small guy had Evens on the ground about to hit him again when there was a loud bang and the small guy fell back clutching his leg. Evens looked toward Dante holding a gun, "the next one is your balls." The guy not wanting to get shot again hobbles away with the two Pokémon close behind.
Dante helps up Evens who asked, "Why do you have a gun on you, I didn't think any existed in this world." Dante was putting the gun back in his bag when he answered, "when I came to in this world I was holding it with an extra clip." Evens remembering that neither of them knew how they died decided to not ask any further. Evens approached Golurk, "how you feelin buddy?" Golurk was looking over its body, "fine right now." "Can you see anything that might provide better shelter?" Golurk looked around, "I see a building not too far ahead." Golurk led the way as Dante and Evens followed behind, Rilou had fallen asleep along with Eevee.
When they reached the building it was an abandoned house, the windows were boarded up and there was a lock on the front door, "Golurk mind opening the door for us." Golurk pushed on the lock a little and it sprang open, Dante sent out Luxray incase a Pokémon attacked. Luxray quickly ran through the whole house before Dante and Evens entered. With her all clear the entered the house and shut the door putting one of the remaining couches to block the front door. Luxray rubbed against Dante, "there are two bed rooms that are pretty secure from the sand, a living room, a kitchen that looks cleaned out, and an empty family room." Dante and Evens sent out all of their Pokémon, "ok guys you're gonna have to help with moving some furniture for us to sleep on for the night." The work took only three hour at the end of which food was set out for everyone to eat. Before anyone went to sleep a schedule was made for who would watch Rilou during the night. When it was all set everyone went to sleep.
And that there is another chapter. Sorry that it's not as long as the other ones, but I already have the frame work for the next chapter set up so look forward to that one. _ _
