#9 of Life As It Is

The end of the school year is such a busy time of the year for me with teachers cramming in everything before school lets out! Sorry for the wait. Here's the newest edition to the series. I hope you enjoy it and please remember to rate, fav, and comment! Thank you and enjoy! :D

-L-

Silnis and I arrived just in time to see Penelope blow away a wave of monsters with a strong gust of wind. She had constructed a howling gale around herself and the warriors as a barrier to shield them and prevent the monsters from entering. A large cumulonimbus cloud was within the howling gale and I could only assume that it was Ventus' sanctuary. My feet were on something soft and I looked down to see that I was standing on clouds! No way! They were solid?!

"Rragh!" Necross cried out as he threw a dark storm golem into the air with his gravity magic before chopping it in half with his ax. He then tossed out a dark violet sphere that hit another golem and completely demolished it with intense pressure. Silnis jumped into the battle, descending down upon an unaware monster and impaling it with his hand blades. He shot out multiple light bolts onto the battlefield that rained down explosions. I joined the battle too and cut my way towards the others, using my fire magic to disintegrate the enemy.

"Glad you guys could join the fight!" Necross shouted, swinging his ax in a circle around him and cleaving the monsters nearby.

"Less talking and more fighting!" Silnis ordered, shooting a ray of light straight towards the sun that came back down as a barrage of radiant arrows. I saw Penelope struggling with a group of monsters and flew in towards her. She noticed me flying in and summoned a cyclone that enveloped the monsters and gave me a chance to fly in and make quick work of them.

"I'm glad you guys got my distress signal! These monsters came out of nowhere! I got here just in time to hold them back before my warriors arrived!" Penelope informed me. I surveyed the battle, finding that we were holding off the waves of monsters pretty well for the small number of us here.

"I'm glad we made it in time too. Let's get back to the battle though!" Penelope and I jumped right back into the fight. She was more of a defensive player than aggressive compared to Necross, Silnis, or I, but I figured her magic was best suited to that kind of stuff. She and the three of us made good combinations with our magic. At one moment, she had conjured a powerful cyclone that sucked in a good portion of the enemy number and something triggered in us to make an awesome combo. A burning sensation welled up inside my chest before I unleashed a fire breath that turned the cyclone into a swirling inferno. Necross then threw out a violet sphere that hit the center of the inferno and absorbed everything into it. The sphere remained floating in midair where the inferno had been, the energy and monsters trapped within. Necross dashed in and grasped it, tossing the sphere high into the atmosphere with all his strength and some help from his gravity magic. Silnis, finally, summoned a beam of light straight from the sun that hit the sphere and shattered it, sending a shockwave of energy and heat across the battlefield.

The few monsters remained were handled with by us. We knew it wasn't over as more monsters appeared from portals similar to ours, but darker in appearance and with a more sinister feel. Kia and Jace arrived with a horde of reinforcement from our portals, everyone charging in with weapons and magic.

At this point, our numbers would easily outnumber the enemy's so I was thinking this would all be over with. I was being a bit too optimistic as the area was suddenly darkened. Black clouds covered the sun, dimming everything around us. A small, sinister giggle echoed across the area, sending a chill up my spine. I saw Penelope tense up, gripping her crescent staff until her knuckles were white. Her expression changed dramatically into one of a prey on the watch for a predator. A small swirl of dark clouds collected together and dispersed to reveal a stunning quetzal girl. Her beautiful colored feathers might have been nice had it not been for the disturbing look in her eyes. In her hands she held a wicked spear that intimidated me. The way she held it told me she knew how to use it and wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone with it.

"Marisa!" Penelope shouted, meeting the quetzal in the air with a big burst of wind that sent her up. She kept herself floating with her wind magic.

"Oh...if it isn't Penelope. How goes the defense of Ventus?" the quetzal questioned her with a smart and demeaning tone.

"You're responsible for this aren't you?!" Penelope demanded. Marisa giggled softly, amused.

"Why yes I am responsible for this. Should I be concerned darling?" she said. Penelope responded by throwing a powerful gust of wind at Marisa who simply deflected it with a simple swipe of her clawed hands. The gale from Penelope was thrown down towards the battlefield and tore a rift through the solid clouds that brought down with it enemies and allies. Marisa smiled to herself seeing Penelope look in disbelief at what she had just done.

"You...you...," Penelope stuttered, unable to find her words.

"That's right dear.... I've grown stronger since we've last fought. Chaos has granted me more of his power to bring down both you and Ventus. Last time you held the upper hand...but now...I will turn the tables!" Marisa flew in towards Penelope at bullet speed, giving her little time to react. Penelope swiftly summoned a cyclone in between her and Marisa, catching the quetzal in its stormy grasps. That gave Penelope a few seconds to back off and conjure up multiple wind blades that dashed into the swirling cyclone and hopefully do some damage to the quetzal. A screech from the quetzal uttered from inside the cyclone before being torn apart by Marisa's own wind magic. Penelope's wind blades did some decent damage to the quetzal. Some of her feathers had been cut clean off and a few bleeding cuts appeared on her body. Marisa, however, didn't look fazed at all by Penelope's attempts. Instead...a malicious grin spread across her face.

"I applaud you for your effort dear Penelope, but witness a taste of my full power!" The quetzal raised one of her hands above her, wisps of magical energies channeling around her. We all stood in anxiety of what she was about to do. Silnis, Necross, and what other champions were here all tensed up, sensing something that I didn't. The magical energies around her intensified, pulsing and building up in power as it took the form of some familiar animal.

"Marisa!" Penelope exclaimed, charging at the quetzal and attempting to stop the spell.

"I summon forth the great, winged serpent of the heavens! Come forth and destroy these fools in the name of Chaos!" The magical energies around her suddenly shot upwards into the clouds above us, separating the dark clouds for a moment before descending back down and taking shape into its true form. A snake, almost as large as the water serpent we had fought at Liberty Island, only with angelic wings, fell down from the opening in the clouds. It spread its wings at the last second and ascended back up, flying in circular motions around the battlefield. Before any of us could do anything, Marisa pulled out a dark orb like the one I had seen in my vision and aimed it at the winged serpent. Dark, corrupting energy poured out from the sphere and entangled the giant serpent in its folds. The serpent hissed in defiance, trying to fight back, but the power of Chaos was too overwhelming and took its hold on the beast. What were once lustrous, white scales turned black and dark. The snake's golden eyes shifted to a malevolent crimson, and its white, feathered wings burned black.

"No!" Penelope screamed, sending a gust of wind that hit Marisa and sent her flying back a few feet. The quetzal brushed off her attack, smiling proudly at her successful summoning and corruption of the winged serpent.

"Now destroy Ventus! Siege his sanctuary and consume him whole!" Marisa commanded, the serpent obeying her and descending down upon the cumulonimbus cloud behind us.

"Oh no you don't!" Silnis exclaimed, running up in front of me and conjuring up his own spell. White runes appeared around him before enlarging and connecting with the wind barrier Penelope had made. As soon as the two spells made their full connection, the white runes emitted their own lone light before blasting the winged serpent with light energy. They hit the serpent dead on and it was forced to turn around, dodging the additional light beams that continued to fire at it.

"Hahahahaha! You only delay Ventus' demise! The great serpent will soon devour him and empower Chaos even more! Nothing will stop it!" Marisa screeched with malevolent amusement. Too caught up in her moment, Marisa failed to dodge the incoming wind blades from Penelope. She received several fresh wounds that met their mark and injured the quetzal greatly. Marisa glared at Penelope, grasping her spear tightly in her talons. "You want to play Penelope? I would be happy to oblige!" Marisa dashed forward and met weapons with Penelope, the two locked in their own battle.

"We need help!" One of the warriors cried out as the monster waves grew larger in number and became more aggressive. We knew couldn't interfere the duel between Penelope and Marisa. All we could do was pray and hope that Penelope would prevail. With my sword in hand, I charged back out into the battlefield. I tossed out a fireball that exploded and sent a group of monsters flying. A storm golem approached me and swung its massive, electrified arms down at me, but I leapt to the side of it and slashed upwards, splitting the golem into two harmless storm clouds. The winged serpent's shadow suddenly loomed over me as it made a U-turn at a reattempt to break into Ventus' sanctuary. Silnis' defensive runes and Penelope's wind barrier continued to push the winged serpent back and do some damage to it at the same time. I knew that it would only be a certain amount of time before the serpent would ignore Silnis' runes and breach the barrier. There had to be something we could do!

"Ngah!" Penelope exclaimed from above.

"Hahaha! I will enjoy killing you!" Marisa said, dashing back and forth between Penelope and slashing at her with her spear. Penelope was a ragdoll being thrown around with new wounds appearing on her every second. I felt helpless watching her. This was her fight, and I shouldn't interfere, but she was losing against Marisa too quickly!

"I'm not giving up!" Penelope shouted, pushing the quetzal back with a gust of wind and throwing out more wind blades at her. The quetzal simply dodged them and deflected them back with another wind gust. Penelope quickly put up a barrier around her, but that did little to keep her own wind blades from penetrating through and hitting her. Marisa took the chance and threw her spear right at the vulnerable Penelope. The spear, thankfully, was pushed a bit by Penelope's swirling wind barrier and missed impaling her chest. It instead cut her shoulder deep and broke her barrier.

"Penelope!" I cried out, ready to help her, but she held out her hand to stop me.

"No...I'll die trying to protect Ventus! I'll protect him with my life!" Ignoring her multiple wounds, she shakily stood onto her feet and summoned a similar spell that Marisa had used to summon the winged serpent. Marisa seemed to know this and flew in towards her, ready to stop her. I decided to step in against it all, flying in and intercepting the quetzal just as she was about to spear Penelope again. She screamed from the burning intensity of my armor, slashing at my face with her talons and giving me some facial scars. I kicked her away, summoning multiple homing fireballs that pursued Marisa. The quetzal foolishly tried to blow them aside, but she only fed them more and they grew in size and heat. Forced to take evasive maneuvers, Marisa dodged my fireballs with skilled flying.

"Fool! You have seen what will happen to the Elements! Embrace the end now and Chaos will reward greatly! You will be honored the highest position by his side!" she said, catching me off guard.

"W-What did you say?!" I asked, not believing what I just heard. A sly smile crept along her beak. She knew...?

"That's right Lance, Champion of Ignis. My master has granted you with the vision of the future. The fall of the Elements is inevitable. Chaos has known this all along. It is only a matter of time before that time comes. Why not join us now Lance? As I had said before...Chaos will spare you and grant you all the power you ever wanted. Don't you want to be stronger and control others? You have been under the power of others for too long. Why not change that with a simple shift in alliance?" The quetzal smiled, enticing me with her offer. I knew what she offered wasn't right, but...why was I considering it? Could Chaos really give me more power than the Elements? All that power....

"Stand strong! Do not falter!" Silnis' voice shouted from below. I turned my eyes down to see Silnis holding back a wave of monsters alone as the wounded were brought into the safety of the barrier. Blood and small wounds were scattered on his body, but still he held on strong and determined. Those who heard his cry for perseverance fought harder even if they were exhausted and badly wounded. He was the light in the darkness--an inspiration and moving force to all. Silnis...I couldn't leave him for more power. He was my friend.... He showed me the path to a better life and stood by me. I would be a terrible person to turn my back on him and throw away all he had taught me so far. No...I couldn't.

"No...I won't! Chaos can do what he wants...because...I'll be there to stop him with my friends! We'll stop him from destroying the Elements! We will!" I told Marisa, confident. She was still smiling, but shook her head.

"You could have had so much potential and power.... But I would expect such a thing from a weakling! Now...time to end this once and for all!" A powerful burst of wind blew me back suddenly, Marisa's aura radiating with more power and intensity. Aiming her spear, she attempted another attack at me. Throwing her spear, I was prepared to catch it again, but it just disappeared right before I could catch it. Panicking, I turned around and realized too late what had just happened. Marisa's spear had shifted into some sort of spectral form and passed me harmlessly at the last second, but it was now heading straight for Penelope!

"Penelope!" I shouted, flying towards her in hopes to save her before the spear could get to her.

"Titan of the storms, come forth and defend your master!" Penelope cried out, her summoning spell shooting into the clouds and shaping into a thundering storm giant. The winged serpent was about to make another go at the barrier until the storm giant grasped it and threw the serpent aside. The storm giant sent out bolts of electricity at the downed serpent, the lightning chaining onto the other smaller monsters nearby and decimating their numbers. Penelope finished her spell, hearing me shouting her name. I watched in horror as the spear pierced her chest clean through, leaving a bloody gaping hole.

"Hahahahaha! Yes! Say goodnight Penelope!" Marisa laughed in triumph.

"No!" I cried, catching Penelope as she fell, her skin paling into ghost white at a rapid rate.

"Marisa!" Kia exclaimed, shooting an arrow that struck the quetzal in the shoulder. She glared at Kia with fury, summoning her spear to her and about to take another shot until a ball of swirling light hit her and exploded. Marisa fell down towards the battlefield before recovering, flying back up and meeting her two new opponents. Kia and Silnis both stood on a cloud that allowed them to meet eye-to-eye with her, brandishing their weapons.

"Oh, are you two here to avenge your petty friend? She was hardly worth the fight! Now you two I have heard about from the other Chosen. I will enjoy taking you both down with my own hands! Chaos will reward me greatly by bringing down the both of you!" The quetzal flew in towards Silnis and Kia and met weapons with them in another duel. I watched as Penelope lay dying in my arms, trying to use my fire magic to dull the pain.

"L-Lance...," she choked, blood pooling in her mouth.

"I-It's okay! You're going to be okay!" I tried to reassure both her and I. I was scared...scared for her. Was she going to make it? What could I do?!

"Lance, bring her in here!" Necross shouted at me, waving me in towards Ventus' sanctuary. Jace was waiting with him too and I knew that only he could give Penelope a fighting chance. I quickly brought her inside the cumulonimbus cloud, seeing a clouded room with a swirling vortex of physical air in the center--Ventus. I laid her down, Jace taking over and healing her wound. I stood over the pale Penelope and Jace, anxiety taking over my body. Necross rested a hand on my shoulder, pulling me close to him in a partial embrace.

"She's going to fine Lance. Don't worry," he tried to reassure me. I appreciated his efforts, but we both knew that she wasn't going to make it. His eyes were a mix of indigo and blue that showed his melancholy mood. Jace stood, facing us with a grim expression.

"I tried my best...but Marisa knew where she was aiming. Her spear hit her heart dead on. Penelope...she...isn't going to make it," he informed us, glancing back at her before leaving back outside to the battle. I fought back the tears, wanting to reject the truth, but knowing that he was right.

"Lance...," I heard Penelope whisper my name. I knelt down beside her, taking her hand in mine.

"Penelope...I'm so sorry I couldn't save you! It was my fault!" I said, blaming myself for her demise.

"It's not your...fault Lance. I was...bound to lose...to Marisa in time. She had always been...a powerful foe. I knew that one day...she would...become more powerful than me...and eventually...kill me. Today...was that day," she told me.

"No! I could have stopped her! You wouldn't be dying right now if I had stopped her!" I shouted, my tears falling and steaming away before they could touch the floor. Her hand touched my cheek and I looked to see her smiling at me.

"You were...a good friend Lance. I wished that...I had gotten to know you longer. P-Please...do me a favor?" she asked, the life in her eyes slipping away.

"What is it? I'll do it!" I agreed, wanting to do one last favor for her. Her hand went in front of me and showed me a charm bracelet with portraits of what looked like her family. "Give this...to my family.... They...need to know...that I can't be there for them...anymore. Tell them...that I'm sorry and that...I love them very much," she said, slipping the bracelet into my hand.

"I-I'll do what you asked. I promise you Penelope!" I assured her, grasping the bracelet firmly.

"T-Thank you Lance.... You were...always such a nice person.... I'm sure...Silnis would be happy...to have you. Never...give up on...making your...own life. Be...happy...Lance... and be...strong...," she said, smiling one more time before the last wisp of life in her eyes vanished, her body going limp and lifeless. A soft hum echoed from Ventus, tendrils of his power wrapping around Penelope and lifting her off the floor. Her body was surrounded by the wind before glowing brightly and slowly dispersing into individual strands of air. As the last of her body was transformed into wind, Ventus released her and the winds that were once Penelope flew freely into the air, dancing with joy.

"Penelope had the true spirit of the wind. She was always free-spirited, adventurous, strong, but gentle. Her soul now rests in peace as a part of the winds that journey throughout this world every day. She will not be forgotten. Her presence will forever be among us like the wind," Ventus' voice echoed within the hall before going silent. I could hear the battle still going on outside, feeling the cold metal of Penelope's bracelet in my hand. I promise you Penelope...I will bring this to your family.

"Lance!" Necross called to me, grasping my shoulder, "We have to get back out there. Everyone else is still fighting!" I turned to him, my blade forming from flames in my hand. Marisa...you will pay for this....

"Let's go...," I said, stepping outside. Things had changed quite drastically since we were inside. For one thing, Marisa had summoned a barrage of large hail and cyclones to wreak havoc on everyone. The storm giant and winged serpent were doing battle with each other, though it was a losing one for the giant. The serpent had coiled itself around the giant, constricting the mostly cloud-based creature. I had only taken a few steps out of the sanctuary to find out the fight with Marisa wasn't going so well either. Silnis and Kia both came crashing down by a boulder-sized hailstone. Silnis had kept the brunt of the damage away from them with his shield, but the impact was unavoidable. They both were a disaster! Their armor had been shredded and broken in many places with wounds and blood everywhere. Silnis was out of breath and limping a bit while Kia looked beyond exhausted.

"T-That bitch! I'm going to...!" Kia screamed, taking a step forward but falling. Necross quickly caught her, forcing her to sit and rest.

"Kia, you're badly hurt and fatigued. You can't fight her in your condition!" She only pushed him aside, propping herself up with her bow.

"I'm not...giving up until that bitch dies! She killed my best friend!" Kia shouted, forcing herself to walk but failing and falling to her knees. She started to sob softly, wiping her tears with her arm. I knelt down beside her, arm wrapped around her back.

"Kia...I know you and Penelope were friends, but you can't kill yourself over revenge. What would Penelope think if you carelessly threw away your life all for revenge?" I questioned her, trying to talk some sense into her head. She looked at me with teary eyes, lips trembling as she swallowed and let out a deep sigh.

"You're right Lance.... Penelope...wouldn't have wanted me to go dying for her sake. But please...make Marisa pay...," She said, looking at me with pained eyes. I only nodded, helping her up and walking her over to where Silnis was being tended to by Necross. He found a way to lighten the mood a bit by teasing Silnis with a small kiss to the cheek. Silnis looked like he wanted to blast Necross into the sun for that, but he only smiled and lightly punched him on the shoulder. As I set Kia down next to him, he grasped my shoulder, giving me a stern look.

"Be careful Lance.... I don't want to lose any more friends to that bird," he cautioned me.

"Don't worry about me Silnis. Just worry about recovering and getting back onto the field. We all need you to be the shining light in the darkness," I told him, taking a chance and giving his hand my own kiss. His eyes widened in shock before quickly setting down, giving my cheek a soft caress with his hand.

"I will...," he said, smiling gently before I stood and left, turning my gaze to the quetzal above. Marisa was still ravaging the battlefield. Her powers were a true threat now and if left alone could she definitely destroy Ventus. She needed to be stopped.

"Are you ready to do this?" Necross asked as he stood by me, grinning. I smirked, grasping my blade firmly.

"Let's do this," I said, taking off and flying in towards Marisa with Necross beside me. Marisa noticed us coming at her, giggling devilishly as she swung her arms and released a flurry of wind blades. Taking a deep breath, I unleashed my fire breath onto the wind blades, heating the air they were constructed of and causing them to rise as warm air does. My fire breath went beyond that and caught Marisa by surprise, scorching her front feathers and leaving some burns. She recovered quickly, flying to a safe distance before throwing more attacks at us. Her wind magic was no match against my fire magic. Everything she threw at us would simply be heated by my flames and become harmless heated air. She knew this from the slight hint of fear I saw in her eyes. She was getting desperate.

"Give up Marisa! Your magic is no use against us!" I shouted to her. If she gave up now...I would let her live. But if she didn't...then there would be no other alternative.

"I am no weakling to surrender to the champions of Balance! I will destroy Ventus! For Chaos!" she screeched, calling upon another spell as her clawed hands glowed brightly with magical runes encircling them. She started to chant in a foreign tongue, but that didn't concern me as much as the much larger runes circling Necross and I. The runes orbited around us lazily at first, pulsing with magic, but they soon started to increase the speed of their orbit and pulsing. Necross and I prepared for the worst as the runes spun around us with impossible speeds before suddenly stopping and letting forth their magic. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but I soon started to feel short-breathed and dizzy. It got to the point where my vision was blurring and it was getting harder to breath. Necross was having the same problem, clutching his chest and panting heavily.

"T-That bitch! She's *gasp* taking out all the air around us!" Necross growled, struggling for air. In a desperate attempt, I tried to summon a fireball at Marisa, but not even a spark ignited. Without oxygen, my powers were useless! "Hah!" Marisa screeched behind us. I turned my eyes and saw her spear flying towards us, guaranteeing a kill in our vulnerable situation. The spear was only about five feet away from impaling me before the boom of a musical melody blew it aside. The sound echoed towards Marisa, catching her by surprise and drowning her in the deafening music. The runes around us shimmered before shattering, releasing us and granting us our much need air. Sandra suddenly appeared before us with her instruments, giving us a wink before focusing on the quetzal. Marisa, having recovered from the sound wave, snarled at the kitsune, about to unleash her wrath for interfering before a bolt of lightning shot out from the dark clouds and struck one of her wings. In a flash her wing had a gaping hole where the lightning had struck, smelling of burnt feathers and flesh.

"Hey! No one gets away with killing my friends without facing me!" Cody exclaimed, appearing from a lightning bolt next to us.

"Insolent wretches, I will kill you all!" Marisa screamed, throwing her spear with a barrage of hail, cyclones, and wind blades down upon us. Quickly reacting, I let loose a fiery breath that negated the wind blades and melted the hailstones. Sandra knocked aside the spear with her sound waves, leaving Marisa open. Necross tossed another one of his violet, gravity spears that hit the quetzal and imprisoned her in a crushing gravity prison. Marisa was screeching and shouting out curses at us, using her wind magic to free herself. Cody took care of that with a simple voltage of electricity to make her go unconscious. Necross grabbed her, slinging her over his shoulder to bring her down to Silnis and the others. I would have thought it was over if wasn't for the fact that the storm giant and winged serpent were still fighting. The giant had lost one of his arms and received a large hole in his chest area, yet he still fought on. Sandra stepped forward, delicate fingers on her guqin, before playing a harmonious melody that echoed throughout the entire area. I watched, amazed, as the monsters below us suddenly fell into a deep slumber in a matter of seconds. The winged serpent swooned in its flight, eventually descending down and going to sleep. The giant, sensing no threat from the serpent and having fulfilled its duty disappeared in a puff of clouds.

"Radiant Dawn!" I heard Silnis call out, sending up a lone ball of light that pierced the black clouds and separated them to let the light of the sun shine down. As the rays of the sun hit the serpent's slumbering body, black mists of Chaos' corrupting energy hissed at the light and burned away. The last of Chaos' energies left the serpent's body and it quietly shifted into harmless breezes to return where it had been summoned from. Necross, Sandra, Cody, and I met up with the others, bringing the unconscious Marisa with and containing her with some seals for precautionary reasons. Silnis came to greet Necross and I back, giving the both of us a warm hug,

"Great work you two. You saved Ventus. Penelope would have been proud of you Lance," he said, smiling.

"Yeah...she would be proud," I agreed, putting a small smile of my own. Necross patted my back, giving me his own smile. Smiling...it helps to ease the pain and sorrow.

"The monsters have reverted back to their true forms and Ventus is safe. All we need to do now is tend to the wounded and recover those who were lost in the defense. Kia and Jace will...take care...of Marisa. Kia will...destroy her essence. It will be the least painful way to dispose of her. After that...we can go home," Silnis informed us, trying to stand tall, but limping due to his injuries. I chuckled, lifting him up into my arms despite his protest.

"I think you need to rest more Silnis. You push yourself too hard sometimes. Just let us handle the cleaning up," I assured him, Necross agreeing with a nod.

"N-No! I'm perfectly fine! I don't need to-!" he was about to say before I shushed him with a finger of mine on his lips. He was so cute when he was worked up and trying to act tough. We all needed a nice break after this battle. I wondered....

"Hey, Necross, you up for some quality time with Silnis and I?" I asked him, knowing he would accept.

"I'm up for that! When's it going to be?" he asked.

"Oh...I don't know...maybe tomorrow?" I suggested.

"Perfect...," he agreed, smiling.

"Hey, don't I get a say in this?!" Silnis complained with his arms crossed. Necross and I exchanged looks, the same idea going through our heads.

"Nah....Why don't you just rest...?" I said, whispering into Silnis' ear.

"And relax...," Necross finished, whispering into his other ear before we both planted a kiss on his cheeks. Silnis blushed deep red, unable to do anything between us two larger dragons.

"Just...wonderful...," I heard him mutter. This made Necross and I smile, chuckling a bit from Silnis' flushed state. This relationship...was going to be a fun one all right.
