It was a cool afternoon in Cedar woods with the birds singing in the trees and the wind make gentle sighs across the land. A usual day for this peaceful area save for the loud growls and roars coming from a log cabin sat atop a steep hill. Inside was a young blond haired tiger like warrior pacing through the lower floor of the cabin like a caged animal. The young woren was anxious as well as frustrated thanks to the inferno of lust running through his mind and his loins. Rei circled the only table in the house to calm himself but that only seemed to make the feline more and more agitated. He couldn't help himself though. His mind and body were currently at war and Rei was slowly going out of his mind because of it.

A loud crash made the twin knife wielding warrior turn around to see a set of plates shattered on the floor and realized that he wasn't the only thing that was going to pieces around the cabin. That thought brought dark mirth into the woren's mind as he stared at the white painted ceramic shards before going over and getting a broom to clean up the mess. Rei didn't want his brother to come home, find this mess, and start asking questions. No doubt that the blue haired warrior would, as was his nature to poke his nose into things that concerned those around him.

Gathering up the mess into a neat pile, Rei scooped the broken plates into a dustpan and then took the trash to the small kitchen to dispose of. Once he was finished the woren came back and started his pacing again. He just couldn't stop himself! If it wasn't so bad that here he was in his prime without a mate in the midst of mating season, his blood boiling over in his veins driving him crazy was! Not only that but Rei was having trouble controlling his weretiger half and the beast sleeping under his skin was roaring to escape from his tight grasp out into the world.

Not having a mate was something Rei could handle, since not too many worens lived on this side of the continent the blond feline had grown used to using his paw like hands to bring himself release. However, having a wild and untamed animal ravaging about looking for something to stick its dick into could prove to be a complication. The beast that lived underneath his fur and flesh was growing out of control with the need to mate and sooner or later Rei was bound to transform and then may Deis help anyone nearby. Worens, by nature, were a virile bunch; both males and females of the species were not what one could call subtle when seeking mates during mating season. To put it bluntly, worens sometimes raped an unwilling mate just to subdue them into submission and that was why both males and females spent much time inside of their own clans instead of venturing out into the world. Having a feral feline coming after you and then tossing you down before having their way with you was not something most took too kindly to and had earned the race a lot of scorn.

The fact that Rei was without a member of his people to help and support him during his heat was already burdensome and combined with the other fact that even if he did find someone; who could last long enough while being fucked, almost literally to death, by a four hundred pound tiger. The woren could feel his blood frothing in his body while calling out to any one who could suit him but since there was no one around the feline had to only pace to exhaust his inner turmoil. What he would give for Momo to be here right now, but Rei had to shake his head at that thought.

'Don't even dislike her that much to do that to her.' The blond thought cruelly.

As much as the Grassrunner irked him, Rei would never do something to harm her. Momo and he may have their petty arguments about this and that from time to time and may squabble like two hens in a roost but Rei had to admit that he liked the rabbit-eared engineer; if only to himself. Unleashing his weretiger self onto her would be tantamount to murder and he could never forgive himself if the Grassrunner got injured while he attempted to slake his lusts with her body.

"Ugh!!" Rei swore as he dropped to one knee and gave a window shattering roar when he felt a wave of electricity spike through his body trying to find a place to vacate but ending up circling through his nerves on down to his groin. This was the one time the feline was very ungrateful that he had been blessed with the ability to use lightning as a weapon.

Taking slow and measured breaths, Rei centered himself and dimmed the flow of power to a simple trickle that soon dissipated altogether. One problem solved left another hanging in the wind and the woren soon began his aggravated pacing. That minor, in Rei's mind, attack from his body had left him with a painful erection in the front of his pants causing a very embarrassed ten to draw up. Since the woren race wasn't body shy Rei could have cared less but while living together with his little brother the twin knife wielder had grown a sense of modesty and so Rei looked down at himself and groaned in frustration.

"Have to deal with this before..." Rei stopped mid thought.

A scent caught the blond's nose making him halt his circling and inhale deeply. It was a mix of sulpher, grass, apples, and wood. A small smile pressed against the feline's mouth, as he knew instantly who was coming. Taking a full minute to straighten himself, Rei turned around and gave a pleased grin to see his little brother coming through the front door.

"Hey Ryu!" the knife wielder shouted totally hoping that his brother wouldn't noticed the extra leg in his pants and keep his eyes on the feline's face instead.

The blue haired dragon stumbled at the loud call before smiling at the other male and then walking over to him. The dragon prince nodded to his older sibling before being crushed into the other's body in a fierce hug. Only his strength of the Brood kept Ryu from being squashed by Rei's great embrace and despite the bruising grip placed on him he simply patted the other on the back before the woren decided to release him.

"So what didja bring home today?" Knowing that his little brother liked only two things best to eat, Rei gambled on Ryu's find for tonight's dinner.

The blue eyed teen nodded and brought out the still wiggling catch from his rucksack making the older boy drool just a bit. Being a feline like creature Rei was susceptible to the aroma of the scaly creatures and found himself eating them more often than not. Maybe it was because Ryu always brought home the biggest ones or maybe he just really loved fish but Rei never got sick of them even after having the same kinds of dishes every other night. Neither Rei nor Ryu were very good cooks so they whipped together whatever they could, which consisted mostly of stews, tempura, fruit, vegetables, and sushi. The herbs outside helped cover up the sometimes burnt aftertaste so everything ended up coming out fairly well in the end.

"Heh, well it your turn to cook tonight so I'll go and get the firewood from downstairs and you can start up guttin' dinner." Rei patted the cerulean haired youth on his slim shoulder and then made his way into the kitchen as fast as possible.

'Thank Deis he didn't notice. Man, doesn't this just be all! Go down already!' Rei screamed at his arousal, which paid him no heed. Growling in annoyance the woren sighed before retuning to the task at hand.

The cooking area was standard with a large stone stove, multiuse cabinet standing by the side of a long ladder leading downstairs to the cellar that stored wood and other necessities. Going over to the far edge of the room the woren jumped down the twelve foot drop with grace and then looked around.

'Need to get some more wood soon.' Rei thought as he picked out four split logs and then carried them back upstairs.

Ryu busied himself so he didn't pay attention when Rei came back up the ladder. A strong presence at his back alerted the Brood prince to his older sibling's arrival before the blue haired dragon glanced down to see golden clawed hands stuffing wood underneath the stove. A small smile graced his face as he finished preparing the fish and went over to grab a pot from the cabinet.

The rhythm Rei and Ryu had during this time was like a coordinated dance; one of them would bring home the food for the day, the other would then gather the wood, prepare the fire under the stove, and then set the table in the front room. The chef for the evening would cook, taste, and critique his masterpiece and then bring it out front and set it down. Both would say thanks to the other and then would begin to scarf down their meal with abandon. Afterwards, they would take their dishes and utensils outside to clean then in the river below the hill, come back inside and then go upstairs to talk about their day.

It was rhetoric and sometimes monotonous and yet perfect for the two. Compared to life never knowing where the next meal would come from, this was blissful. When one journeys the far edges of the world and then live to tell about it you tend to take life just a little bit slower and with a lot more thanks afterwards. To others it would be almost boring, but for Rei and Ryu; this was nothing short of perfection. Having someone to come home to everyday and sit down and eat like a family before going upstairs to talk about nothing without worry of fear was everything the two brothers could ask for. Oh sure it could get kinda predictable when both had to stay inside because of rain, snow, or harsher conditions but somehow they passed the time off.

However, this time was different than the others. This time, Rei couldn't help but fidget in his seat and try to keep his tail from lashing around while eating the stew. Just because everything seemed normal didn't mean that it was and the woren hadn't forgot about the situation his body was going through right now. The pressure in his loins was getting worse and the blond haired warrior had to concentrate not to growl out loud and snap the knife he was eating with in half with his growing incisors.

Though the blond kept his squirming to a minimum to Ryu's trained eyes he could tell that something was wrong. People tended to forget that as a member of the Brood race Ryu was heir to senses and abilities that far out dwarfed others, even certain knife wielding felines. Sight, scent, and hearing were all heightened to levels that only Ryu could handle and as the blue haired dragon ate he cartographed all of Rei's movements and gestures. The bad thing was that most of the time Ryu couldn't understand what his senses were telling him when he got all of the messages relayed inside of his head, now being one of those times.

By the time dinner was finished the sky outside had grown to an almost transcendent black and the stars were just beginning to twinkle. The pot that the duo had finished eating out of was cleaned and both Ryu and Rei patted themselves on the stomach to show how much the food hit the spot. Rei belched rudely and palmed the back of his head in embarrassment but it only served to make Ryu laugh out loud. Taking that as a good thing the cerulean haired dragon smiled to his brother and then set about picking up the pot and carrying it out the front door. Rei slowly settled his hand down from the back of his head and then waited a few moments before picking up the dishes he and Ryu had been eating with.

There was something about the way the blue eyed boy laughed that made the woren's heart skip a few beats and his ears wiggle as if to try and catch every minute of that musical mirth. It might have been Rei's imagination but he could almost swear that the harmonic like sound drifted into his very soul sometimes. Maybe it was a dragon thing that only Ryu could do because certainly Rei had heard others laugh before but he never felt the way he did when Ryu parted his pale lips and almost hummed before letting loose his chuckles.

Comparing the blue haired boy's laugh to that of a certain Wyndian princess, Rei found that the two couldn't compare. Nina's voice was sweet but too sweet, kinda like honey mixed with sugar, it just made Rei want to gag for the most part while Ryu had a voice that bewitched him. Could have been the fact that Ryu spoke about as much a river flowed during a drought, but nonetheless...

"Rei?" the woren turned from his musing to see the person in question looking up at him in confusion. A shining tool in his hands, the feline goofily stood up, banging his knees into the table top, swore, and gathered up the dirty dishes before running past Ryu to the river outside.

While cleaning off the utensils in the rushing waters the blond woren shook his head until he could center himself before heading back inside of the cabin. This damned heat was really messing with him and the knife wielder was starting to lose control of his own thoughts and feelings. Since when in the hell did he care about how Ryu's laughing sounded? That was something for Nina to wonder on. After all the pink winged Wyndia princess was more than smitten with the blue haired dragon and gushed whenever he came to her kingdom.

She should have been the one to think on Ryu's quiet laugh filtering through her body and soul. She should have been the one to try and get closer to the young man. She should have been the person who got near enough to smell Ryu's earthy and smoky like scent. To feel those wisps of blue hair in her hands. Nuzzling close to the swordsman's body at night while touching, fondling, and...

"Rei? What are you doing?" that voice was like glass shattering in the woren's head as the blond feline opened his slanted eyes and looked at the blue eyed dragon that had conquered his thoughts once again.

Bathed in the light of the full moon, Ryu stood like his ancient ancestors with an almost ethereal radiance surrounding him. Cerulean eyes gleamed and shown down on Rei's body seeming to almost baptize him in their warm glow while the pale rounded face looked upon him with concern and question. Amber orbs grew darker and heavier with need and Rei felt something inside of him pound against his brain giving him a migraine.

"Ahhh!!!!" dropping the dish in his paws into the dark water, the woren groaned and dropped onto his knees while writhing in pain before slim, ivory colored hands reached out for him.

"Rei? Rei?!" the blue haired dragon cried out as his brother fell onto his sides onto the grassy bank beside him and then curled into a tight ball of fur while groaning in pain and agony. Rushing over and taking the larger man fully into his arms, Ryu cried out his brother's name but was unable to get a response other than a few shrill yelps of despair.

Rei felt his world turn inside out and his blood pulse through his veins like molasses. Everything seemed to slow down and time came to a halt in an instant before the world exploded. The feline warrior, with his scattered thoughts and senses, knew what would happen next and used whatever strength he could find inside of himself to utter one word to Ryu...

"Run."

The word was spoken with such fear and determination that the blue dragon's stumbled back and fell into the river. Making a quiet splash, Ryu coughed and splutter the cold water from his nose and mouth in time to see a sight he really hadn't expected. Through the last six months his brother had rarely used his other form, choosing instead to rely heavily on his skills and his battle prowess instead of the uncontrollable transformation that he had access to. Given that fact Ryu was already on his rear in the two foot deep water saved him from getting knocked down by the blood-curdling roar let loose by the blond haired warrior but did open his eyes a little wider when Rei's body began to expand.

Unlike Ryu's dragon gene ability, Rei had little choice on what he would become when he turned into his more bestial form. There wasn't much grace or flash when the wise cracking and slang speaking woren changed into a eight foot tall hazel eyed tiger that new only how to kill. The only thing that was similar to Ryu's change was that violet streams of energy exploded from the other in shorts bursts before the feline's metamorphism.

The feline warrior's face and head were the first things to change as his skull lengthened and grew. The short fur on his face became dense and thickened outward as Rei's nose moistened and turned black, while triangular pointed ears rounded and extended about three inches in diameter. Blond hair changed to crimson and trailed down the back of the woren's neck to his spine where muscles expanded and contracted. Fangs pushed down from red gums where already sharp teeth became replaced with razor like canines, bones and tendons popped and reset themselves as Rei's upper and lower physique widened and increased in definition. Rei's chest and arms expanded to monstrous proportions as biceps and triceps filled out to almost forty inches around and his abs sunk inward before exploding. The once lean form of the feline thief extended to almost three times his original size as the top portion of Rei's body finished its transformation and the lower half caught up.

Bones and cartilage cracked and realigned themselves so that the woren could now crouch down and walk on all fours. Leg density doubled to hold the upper body weight as Rei's thighs and feet stretched and popped. Blunt claws on the tiger's toes hardened and hallowed, as soon they became the same as the talons on the weretiger's paws. The last two things to change were Rei's genital and tail. The organs that made up the weretiger's sheath and scrotum grew heavier and wider with more weight as Rei's body made every part of him accustomed to his new size. It was only natural that the male's reproductive organs complimented his new form and soon the once seven inch sheath took on an extra seven inches while his paw sized sac and balls could barely be fit into one of Ryu's hands. His tail was the last thing to change as it lengthened and whipped around like an angry snake. In Ryu's eyes it had to have been a two and a half feet in width at its tip on down where it connected to the rest of the weretiger's body and seven feet in length.

The entire change could have only taken thirty seconds but in Ryu's mind he could swear that it was longer. Now, crouched down about three feet from the blue haired dragon was a large and feral beast didn't look too happy. Slowly raising its massive head this way and that the weretiger sought to find some kind of enemy to slake its bloodlust on but the only thing around in the dark night was a soaked blue headed creature staring up at him. A vicious snarl ripped from the weretiger as it stalked close to the other and then reached out with its gigantic paw towards Ryu.

The blue eyed dragon froze as he looked on the sight of his brother's more uncontrollable self and his mind seemed to go blank for a split second. It wasn't so much the sheer terror of seeing the frenzied creature in front of him that made Ryu scared but the fact that he wasn't sure what to do in this situation. Rei had always had control over this side of himself and kept his weretiger form in check so seeing the beast off his leash was not something Ryu had prepared for. In terms of sheer might, Ryu would have been able to over power the beast with his multitude of draconic forms but that would mean hurting Rei, and that was unacceptable. A year ago when the two had fought on the Ogre Road there had been a different story since Ryu hadn't know his brother's alternative self and had treated him as any other monster, but now...

As ivory white claws neared Ryu's head the blue haired dragon ducked down and under the weretiger's grasp to splash into the river. Coming up a ways away a second later, Ryu jumped onto the bank and then took off into the woods. A furious roar sounded after the young Brood and soon the chase was on. Interestingly enough, while Rei had now double his normally sonic like speed with his other form Ryu was able to hold his own and lead the other out of Cedar forest into the hills up to Mt. Glaus. Since any other route would have taken the young dragon to either McNeil village or out into the open Ryu chose the only route that wouldn't end in innocent life lost.

The trees provided some cover and slowed the now muscle bound animal down but it didn't really distance Ryu from the weretiger that much. The beast's angry roar echoed through the night and as Ryu felt his breath catching in his throat and his heart hammer into his chest he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep up his pace for long. Fishing today had worn the blue haired dragon down, plus the extra added weight his clothes made while soaked with freezing water slowed Ryu down to a heavy fit of pants on the bridge of Mt. Glaus.

The weretiger behind him came into view a few seconds after and then snarled at the young dragon as it huffed quietly in exhaustion. The two stared at each other with the bloated moon above them shining down as the only witness to these particular events. Not even the local monsters would dare to come out with the volatile hum of energy snapping between the two. There was murderous intentions coming from the large golden tiger scared off any would be watchers and that cleared any hope that the beast would lose focus of Ryu and turn on something else. Now without the aid of the trees of the woods, the blue eyed dragon stood there trying to regain his breathing while figuring what he should do next.

Calling out to the more intelligent mind of his brother proved futile as the weretiger snarled every time Ryu opened his mouth and soft crooned out Rei's name. Though his Dragon King sword was by his side resting within its scabbard Ryu had no intention of drawing his weapon. Transforming was his only option but into what could Ryu change that wouldn't leave himself or his sibling maimed. Thoughts raced in the blue haired dragon's head and the weretiger took the advantage presented and charged for him.

Like pure lightning in motion the animal raced the distance between them and Ryu had just enough sense of self-preservation to dive out of the way and into another body of water. For the second time tonight the blue haired dragon found himself submerged in water and he quietly sighed at his luck until a heavy body jumped down beside him. Ryu looked through water slicked bangs in time to see a clawed hand snap out at him. Cerulean eyes watched in fascination before letting out a fearful scream and darkness swept over him.

The weretiger had finally caught up to the smoking smelling creature and reached out to claim his prize with a deep sense of satisfaction welling in his chest when a black void filled the space between him and his catch. Hazel eyes watched as the field of ebony light deepened before an echoing scream was let loose into his ears forcing them down atop his head. Danger seemed to come from the strange dome of energy and then tiger's instincts forced him to step away from the thing surrounding his blue headed prey. When the weretiger next looked he blinked at what he was seeing before his nose caught the scent to match the body.

Growling at the bipedal beast was another beast that was similar to him but not. Where as the weretiger's body was large, golden furred, doubly muscled, and filled with raw power the other was smaller, less endowed. Two ebony wings folded down on its back, long serpentine tail swaying from the its rear, a trail of red hair ran the length of the four legged creature's forehead down to the center of its shoulders, bright golden fur with crimson stripes wrapped over its body, and two pointed horns jutted out from its head. There was something wrong about the quadruped to the weretiger's chaotic mind, appearance not withstanding, something was off about the other beast. It looked like a tiger, smelled like a tiger, but there was a danger coming from the smaller creature that made the fur of the weretiger prickle and stand out. A warning growl ushered from the larger tiger's throat and it was answered with a challenging growl.

The other beast backed away with its paws and legs slinking and sloshing into the water while the weretiger stalked closer to the other. The smaller tiger got to the end of the river where he would have fallen over to be dragged away to the lake before snarling up at the larger animal. His fierce scowl was met head on and then the winged tiger jumped for the much larger tiger. The weretiger lashed out with his claws to strike but only caught fur as the four-legger tackled him into the cold water where they both rolled around and fought to gain dominance over one another.

The weretiger wasn't as adapt at fighting in water and its fur soon became drenched and its body became heavy until he could barely swing his arms. Choosing to lose fur rather than blood in that disadvantaged battle, the muscled tiger dove out of the river and then shook the moisture free before looking at his adversary. The four-legged tiger glided out of the river with poise and grace before shaking itself and then staring at the larger beast. When their mutual rest was done with the two creatures circled and then dove back for one another continuing their fight once more.

They fought for hours when the moon sunk into he distance as fur and flesh were torn and ripped from their bodies. Blood spilled out over the brown earth as claws dug folds in the ground while the two animals kept up their deadly dance. The winged tiger used its speed and body weight to keep oppressive attacks against the broader weretiger, clawing at the other and ducking under massive paws that would shred it in two. Fangs and horns pierced flesh making the weretiger roar in pain and quickly enough the four legger's face and muzzle was covered in crimson. But he didn't get away without being injured in turn, the weretiger's claws rendered his wings useless and one of the appendages hung limply by his side almost grotesquely as the larger tiger slashed the smaller tiger's sides until deep gouges bled out onto the ground. Though the winged beast may have had speed he still needed to make his attacks hit their target and that gave the feral weretiger the chance to strike out his massive paws against the other. Some of the hits were successfully dodged but other connected and made the four-legger wail out loud.

By the time the sun came into view both animals were beaten, tired, bloody, and on their last legs. The four-legger panted as his face and fangs were covered in blood as was the rest of his body, his wings were in pieces on the ground while his left hind leg was bent oddly since it had been twisted during the battle. Tail set on the ground like a dead weight and one of his horns broken the winged tiger couldn't last much longer than one last attack.

The weretiger wasn't in any better shape; his body was savaged from deep puncture wounds, covered in red until there was no sight of the once beautiful golden fur could be distinguished from where he had been struck. His wounds open and gaping, but his tail was raised high in the air in defiance and his sticky paws were coated blood and dirt however, the weretiger roared his challenge to the other. Madness could be seen dancing in the muscular tiger's eyes as it sought more battle and more pain to quell its bloodlust.

The two locked eyes once again and charged for one another for the final conflict. The four-legger's wings couldn't take the speed and force and snapped off from the horned tiger's back making him shaky on his feet giving the weretiger the advantage he needed. A single earth shaking step put the muscular tiger in position to catch the other with one of his paws, the single horn of the smaller beast went through his massive paw making the blood soaked tiger grit his teeth before clenching his claws over the other's face and muzzle stopping him cold. Unable to move the four legged tiger tried to jar his forehead loose but he was in the next instant struck on the side of the head with the weretiger's other paw sending him sprawling. The four-legger bounced and hit ground a couple of times before landing at the side of the riverbank and going still.

The weretiger waited a few moments to see if his opponent would rise but when minutes passed and the other didn't stir he stalked over and stood over the fallen tiger. Looking down at his rival the weretiger lifted up his head and sent out a victorious roar that shook the earth making the animals and monsters who had ventured close scatter before crouching over the horned tiger.

It was then that his own wounds began to gush out and flow down the weretiger's form like water causing the bigger beast to sway and fall back. A heavy thump jarred the broken winged quadruped to open cerulean eyes and look at the creature he had just fought. Getting up on shaky legs the horned tiger stumbled over to the fallen beast and then surveyed the damage he had done. The only way to describe the larger tiger was to say that he looked like a pincushion that breathed. Crimson blood soaked the upper portion of the weretiger's neck down all over his chest, stomach, abs, groin, legs on down to his massive clawed feet, blue blood pooled from holes embedded beneath fur and dripped down deepening the already maroon colored coat, drowning the bigger beast. Shallow breaths huffed out from between the weretiger's muzzle as ivory fangs glinted in the dawning sunlight before hazel eyes fell shut.

A sense of both fear and urgency hit the four-legger and he shook off the omnipresent force trapping him in his current form. In a blinding light a blue haired, white winged woman wearing a sapphire colored dress separated herself from the quadruped tiger to hover above him as the broken winged beast shifted and phased out to be replaced by an exhausted Ryu. Not bothering to think the other gathered his magical energies into his hands until a large sphere of multicolored light throbbed in between his fingers and then cast a healing spell upon his brother.

The radiance from Ryu's hands danced over Rei's body knitting the wounds and seeping into the woren's breast below to where internal organs had been badly damaged and then pulsed outwards healing Rei completely. The holes that gaped blood instantly closed, breathing returned to normal, and then Ryu looked to see the weretiger staring at him with bleary eyes. Those hazel slit orbs watched the blue haired creature with something indistinguishable to the young Brood before closing.

"Rei!!!" the blue haired dragon called out his siblings name only to have a pale white hand touch his shoulder making Ryu jerk his head up.

The woman who had given Ryu the Fusion gene and taken him over momentarily floated a few feet from the blue eyed dragon and then smiled at him. The gesture calmed the erratic youth until the winged woman was sure that she could speak with him without him panicking.

"You friend will live young dragon. All you need do now is to prepare yourself for the next trail at hand." With those cryptic words the woman faded into the dawn light like a vision from a dream.

Ryu blinked his eyes a few times as if to reassure himself that he hadn't imagined everything until he soon heard the quiet purrs of the beast below him. Snapping his head around, Ryu looked to his older brother and then set his head down on the other's chest listening for that strong heartbeat that belonged only to Rei. The steady thumps of the blood pumping organ comforted the blue haired dragon making him smile.
