#2 of Just Another Lonely Pup

Well, I wrote this last night and I am probably going to continue it. Um all of the events in this story did happen, not the furry parts, but everything else.

If anyone is confused on the reactions and tone of the story, bare in mind that I was like 6 or 7 when this happened.

Just Another Lonely Pup...

As I sat on the porch of my mother's duplex, I waited patiently for my father to pick me up for the weekend. Even though neither side wanted me around nor did I want to be there, I had to go till I turned 12. That was quite a few years away though. After a few hours of waiting alone, boredom and jealousy overtook me. I was jealous that my brothers were out roller skating since their dad lived far away, and I was locked out waiting for the grass to grow. The sun quickly receded west, and I knew that it would be dark soon. I moved closer to the wall because at night that was when the 'bad' people came out. Still waiting for my dad, I stared at the full moon, and I huddle close to the wall as a cool breeze blew through my fur causing me to shiver. It was a cool, quiet late October evening.

My tail lay silently curled by my side. I examined the fluffy appendage; it wasn't quite as long as other huskies, but not just a stub like a Doberman, just kind of caught in between. The dark black fur over the top and the brown on the brown reminded me of my dad's fur coloring, but the hair length and tail curl looked like my mom's. My mom always said that we weren't really huskies but a mix of husky and akita, but I thought it was easier to blend just being a husky. Considering my peculiar body, I wouldn't want to have another thing that made me even more different. I was already different enough.

I looked up from my tail and whimpered as a car crept into a driveway across the street. With my hopes dash, I reached into my weekend bag that I packed before my brothers locked up the house. On the very top was my plushie and best friend, Luo, a beagle plush. I pulled him out and cuddle him close to my chest. He was special to me. Not only was he my last plush because of my stepmother, he was the only thing that listened when my parents split apart. My brothers had been less than supportive towards me. Unlike other cubs my age, I didn't have really any friends because I was really shy and looked so strangle. I was alone, and he was all I had. A slam of a car door pulled me back to reality.

Across the street, a lion had gotten out of the car, and he started yelling for someone. A tigress stepped out of the duplex wrapped in a blanket. "What the hell, Derek? What are you doing here? I thought I told you I don't want your cheating ass," the tigress yelled at the lion. The lion was a handsome athletic build wearing a wife beater and a pair of holey jeans. He walked towards her, but another littler tiger, probably the tigress's little brother, stepped in front of him. "Josh, get out of my way!" He yelled at the young tiger. "No, she said tha-" the tiger was interrupted by the harsh clap of the lion's fist making contact with the his muzzle, followed by the sound of the boy falling to the ground. "I said get out of my way, you trash," the lion spat at the boy who I assume was now unconscious. "Derek! What the hell are you doing!?!?" the tigress yelled in anger. "Just putting the little bitch in his place!" he laughed. Grabbing her arm, Derek pulled her down from the porch to the driveway, but her left leg landed wrong. Her leg broke with an audible snap. Her leg's bone ripped through her flesh and was now visible under the pale moonlight.

A shiver shot down my spine as I watched, too scared to move even a muscle. The lion released the tigress's arm. He quickly got in his car and fled the scene. With the now lion gone, the young tiger still lay motionless, and the tigress screamed in agony as blood pooled around her leg. Instinctively, my body curled tightly together waiting for the bad of the darkness to get me too. After a little while, an ambulance and police patrol car arrived at the scene. Both the the tigers were taken away by the ambulance, so only the police car remained.

The lean muscular officer German Sheppard was asking witnesses what had happened, and if anyone knew who did it. After he had gotten all that he needed, the dog was about to get in his car, but he stop when he saw me sitting on my porch. He closed the cruiser's door and walked towards me. Once he had made his way into my home's lawn, he said in caring, worried tone, "Hey there pup, what are you doing out so late? It is past midnight." I just whimpered in response feeling tears rolling down into Luo. "Morg, it's alright. You aren't in any trouble," he spoke gently. He reached out to touch my shoulder, but I flinched away. He looked at me with a worried frown, "Is your mom at work?" I nodded. Earlier that day, she told my brothers and me that she wouldn't be home from work until the next morning. He sat down beside me, and rubbed my back. "Where are your brothers then? Did they just leave you here alone to wait for your dad?" he said as he pulled me closer. I nodded as I leaned on his side. "How long have you been out here?" he asked. I shrugged my shoulders, and he hugged me. He sniffed the air and looked down at me, "Pup, did you an accident?" I looked down to see my shorts were wet around the crouch. "Hold on." He commanded. He trotted over to the cruiser to retrieve a towel out of the trunk and trotted back. "Here we go." He said as he wrapped the towel around me and picked me up. "Do you have any other clothes with you right now?" he asked holding me in his arms. I nodded and pointed at my bag. He grabbed it and carried me to the cruiser. He opened the back door and sat me inside. He handed me Luo and my bag. I cuddled Luo close to my chest. "I'm going to call your mom and leave her a message, ok Morg?" he said picking up pulling out his cellphone from the glove box.

The officer dialed my mother's number, and put the phone to his ear. "Hello? I'm at work, Matt" my mother voice coming through the speaker. "Hey hun. Sorry but, I've got Morgan here with me. He has been sitting out alone in the front, waiting for his dad," he said back. "Are you kidding me? Is he alright?" she said sounding really annoyed. "Apparently, Cal and Justin left him here," he looked down towards me with a frown, and I looked at my feet. "Wait, Matt what were you doing over by my house? Did something happen?" she said sounding really worried. "Yeah, your neighbor's daughter and son were attack by the daughter's ex," he responded. "What? Are they ok? Is Morgan ok? Did he see it?" she asked quickly. He answered her questions until she finally said, "Ok, well I guess I need to take off and get him to be-" Matt interupted, "Alex, don't worry about it. I'll take him back to my house and take care of for the weekend, ok?" My mother said, "Are you sure? Don't you have work?" Matt looked down at me again giving a happy grin, "Yea, I can handle the little guy, and I am off this weekend after tonight." She said, "Well, I'm going to be gone the rest of the weekend between work and Judy seeing in the hospital. But if you need anything, come by tomorrow, ok?" Matt agree and asked, "Do you want to talk to him before I let you go?" She said yes, and he handed me the phone.

"H-Hello" I said in a shaky voice. "Hey bug, you be good for Matt, ok? He is going to take care of you for the weekend." "Ok" I said back meekly. "I love you, now can you give the phone back to Matt," she said. I held the phone up to him, and he replaced it against his ear. "Thank you so much," she thanked him. "It's no problem, I am going to let you go 'cause I have to run by the station and grab my car then go home to get him to bed. I love you," he said. "I love you too, goodnight" she replied. He hung up the phone and placed it back into the glove box.

Matt turned back to me, "Now that that is all sorted out, let's get you changed out of those clothes." He helped me out of my shirt and shorts, leaving me in just my yellow-stained Scooby Doo briefs. He chuckled as he grabbed a bottle of water and a rag. Pulling off my briefs, Matt began to clean my wet fur with wet rag and the water. I whimpered as a breeze blew through my exposed wet fur. After he cleaned my fur, Matt grabbed my bag and pulled out my dinosaur sleeper and one of my pull-ups. He helped me into both and zipped up my sleeper. He handed me Luo and gave me hug, "Better?" I nodded. He put my dirty clothes in a plastic baggy, and buckled me up in the back of the car. Matt hopped into the driver seat and began to drive to the police station.

As we drove, I yawn and leaned against the door hugging Luo close. I quickly drifted off, and I stirred when Matt picked me up and carried me in to the station. I hung around his neck sleepily. He held me close as he opened station's door.
