Dani finds herself trapped in the rain, so she ran into a bar or a tavern or something. She meets a handsome but timid bar tender, Jo. From here, where will they go with each other, or without?

I jogged into the warm tavern and stopped to catch my breath. Water dripped from my fur as I stood there in the door of the small establishment,it was warm in there, and I only counted 2 other people sitting at a small table placed in a dark corner a foot or two from the bar. I walk over to the bar, and heard water make a strange noise, somewhere between a squish and a squeek, under my bare feet.

My clothes were totally wet from the heavy and cold down pour outside, and I was unprepared for this. I had no umbrella, no coat, nothing. It never occured to me I may need something to sheild me from the rain, I had not seen it rain on the tropical island in a while, and the weather report didn't call for it. I sat at the bar and took off my large dark purple backpack, now soaked from the rain, I set on the old wood of the bar counter and open it. " Lucky me." I think to myself , inside I find the things that I can see have been penetrated by the harsh and mean rain. Rain. Always good, but ruined everything that was not protected by an umbrella. I stared into the back pack, observing all the soaked items of mine, and it seemed I stared in the darkness of the pack forever, trying to observe each thing through the darkness. The dim lighting at the counter didn't help the slightest bit, it only made a low buzzing sound and a small beam of light come out.

" Can I help you?" a curious faced, brown furred wolf said sort of shy as he leaned on the the dark and partially glossy wood, which my wet back pack was leaking water on.The wolf looked to be about 6 feet tall, only a few inches taller than I was, he was wearing a red t-shirt and had a towel flung over his shoulder. But what really got me was his eyes, he had the most beautiful eyes. They were light green and they glowed almost, they seemed friendly and loving, warm and inviting. His wonderful eyes were impossible not to look to at least once . I look right back at him and come at a loss of words, the wolf has caught me off gaurd. " uh, um.. I, uh, I..." I stubble over my words out of a strange feeling i get from looking at the wolf.

"W_ho is this, oh my goodness, what do I say?! What did he ask? Can I help you? Answer idiot!"_ I scream all these things in my head, trying to say something, but I wind up making strange movements that looks like I was interpretive dancing with my hands. "_ I am so dumb! What the hell was that?!"_ I think to myself, yelling and ranting about what an idiot I must look like. I felt my cheeks burn with embarresment, blushing. Ah yes, why don't i show him how embarresed I am by blushing. But the truth was,it was perfect. " You must be cold, your face is all red." he said and turned. The wolf walked through the rubber curtains that hid the small kitchen and brewery in the back. I breathed and tried calming down, trying to prepare myself for when this wolf would walk out again.

I watched as the genorous bar tender walked through those cheap rubber curtains again, they looked as if they were trying to stick to his fur and hold him from coming back out of the kitchen. He carried a set of something that was folded up, clothes maybe? I thought about all the things it could have been as he walked back over to where i sat. I moved my back pack to the floor where is could leak and spill extra water all it wanted. I took my arm and rubbed back and forth on the wet spot where the pack had sat on the counter, trying to wipe off the water. He smiled at me a bit, then he set the bunch of folded things down.

" I found a set of spare clothes in the back, I think they will fit you, and, uh, heres a few towels if you need them. There is a bathroom right there." The brown wolf pointed to the left and I noticed a small hallway with 2 doors in it. I gathered my thoughts and words, all to put together the perfect thing to say to this amazing wolf, this perfect creature who stood before me. I prepared myself " Don't screw it up." I think, almost threatening myself. " Thanks." I say with a genuine tone of voice. I get up and reach for my back pack, the water coming out on my paw as I gently took it by the strap.

" Nailed it, totally nailed it. I did amazing!" I played the image of the curious face of the handsome wolf over and over again in my head. The way his eyes looked at me with pity, and the way he leaned on the bar counter, he had been leaning on his right arm with his fist balled up, doing the thinker pose, with his other arm tucked up. I pushed open the old and heavy door that had a sign saying " Ladies" on it. Inside the bathroom was suprisingly nice, the walls were a warm red and orange color, and the walls were decorated with various paintings that looked like they had been done by local artists. It was very clean in there, and the fresh smell of vanilla filled the air, I wasn't sure where it was coming from, but it smelled amazing." If only the bar itself was this nice..." I said under my breath. I stopped gawking at the small restroom and closed the door, locked it, then turned back to face a mirror that hung above the white porcelien sink. I began reaching for my shirt so I could pull it up, but I stopped and made sure the door was locked. I glanced at the small metal knob of the door and saw it was. I returned to stripping down in the bathroom, my clothes tried to stick to my wet fur, the cling of water pulling on me and refusing to let go. I held my wet shirt in my paw, and I just looked at it. I was confused and almost " out of it", so I looked at the sink, then back at the shirt. " Yes genius, make the connection." I had a moment of pure stupidity, and now it was over. I walked to the sink, well, I turned to the sink and moved about a foot forward. The shirt was damp in my hand and I rung it out, twisting and scrunching up the wrinked piece of clothing so the moisture would leave.

I felt the shirt again and payed attention to the feel of it. Not totally dry, but alot better than it was. I set the mildly damp shirt on one of the smaller towels that bar tender gave me, then I thought " I wonder what his name is... maybe... hmm...". even in my mind I would make those strange thinking noises. I stopped day dreaming again, that was me, always day dreaming and drifting. I reach down and pick up the shirt bar tender had given me. Before pulling the shirt over my head, I shook off all the water that had sat on top of my orange and purple fur. Little droplets flied off me and sparkled for a second in the bright lights of the bathroom. I watch as they land on the ground and I say quietly without thinking, "I'll have to clean that up in a second." I resumed doing the task at hand, putting on a shirt. I slipped my arms through first, then my head. I pulled the shirt all the way on and straighten it out. I looked in the mirror, to see the plain blue shirt fit me pretty well, but it was a little long. I ignored the few extra inches of blueness and turned back to look at the floor where I had set the clothes and towels. I eyed at the pair of black leggings that sat there, staring back at me. I rubbed my arm awkwardly as I looked at the leggings. I debated whether or not to put them on, I mean, they were leggings, tight, black leggings. I debated a bit more " I don't wear leggings...that might look awkward if I wear them...." I decided to stop whining about it, the few extra inches of the blue shirt would cover enough of the black leggings to not be able to see certain things ( you know what I mean.) The only reason I didn't want to wear them... well, that's a small story for another time down the road.

I was all dressed and decided to see if anything was in my pack that might be dry. Unzipping the back pack I removed everything that was in there. A water bottle, ear buds, a pair of (wet) running shoes,a book, and my wallet "Oh geez..." I said under my breath. I thanked the Lord that the wallet I owned was made out of metal. I snapped the wallet open and found my money slightly moist, but not totally ruined. I breathed a sigh of relief and snapped the metal case shut. I began chuckling a bit, I'm not sure why, but I was just laughing it up in the bathroom. I continued the laughter as I picked up all my things. I didn't bother putting the items back in the ripped and miserable excuse for a bag, they would only get wet again.

I walked out of the bathroom after wiping all traces of water from the floor, and even then I still giggled a bit. I made my way back over to the bar where the wolf was looking down and cleaning. He looked up as I stood on the other side of the counter, and he smiled a bit. His beautiful eyes gleamed as he examined me from over the bar. The wolf flung the towel back over his shoulder " I'm glad those fit you." He still smiled and then leaned on the bar counter " It's still raining pretty hard, why don't you saty here until it clears up?" He looks down, almost with a shy look, then he looks back up " I mean, if you, ya know, you want to. but if you wanna go back outside and get all soaked again, that's cool to." He said jokingly. I giggled a bit " As much as I would love to go back in the rain, I think I'll stay here instead." I said smiling. I leaned on the bar as well, our noses were a few inches away from each other's now. We both looked at each other in a strange curious way.

To break the weird staring, the wolf spoke up " I'm Jo." he said as he leaned back off the bar and rubbed the back of his neck. I grinned again and sat in one of the wooden bar stools. My mind all of a sudden went blank. " What is my name? Oh great! It started with a D... Dina? No... Dan... Danie...Elle...Daniella!" A releived look crossed my face, I remembered my name! " I'm, uh, Daniella," I really almost forgot my name again ", nice to officially meet you Jo!" I said brightly. Jo. I had a feeling this Jo and I would get along quite nicely.

" Do you want a drink?" He offered it kind of awkwardly, still shy and nervous, just like I was. I thought for a minute " We have soda and stuff to. If you don't want something alcoholic." Jo said as he bent down behind the counter. I heard the squeek of a cabinet door. " I'll just have Coke." I said. I was relaxed now, after we had gotten the awkward greetings out of the way, and after I wasn't so nervous anymore, I went back to my usual self, fun and loud. I hoped Jo was ready to meet me when I wasn't so nervous.
