Once upon a time there was a young fox. He was rather simple-minded, living a simple life; he had no clue that the villagers around considered him more of a dead weight than anything else but he still love them very much and wondered how he could make them happy. All he could see was people being unhappy, people fighting with each other; there was surely something he could do to help this situation, but he had no clue.

¨Oh, little boy, it seems like you're facing quite the trouble¨ said a voice near him. It was lighter than any voices he heard before, making him before who could be talking to him. He looked around, but found no one; there was no soul to be found around him, as if someone was playing a trick on him. Maybe it was someone in the village that wanted to share a laugh with him; what a pleasant thought, to be included in such a thing.

¨Look up, boy; you won't find anything if you keep looking at your feet¨ said the voice, attracting his eyes toward the sky, making him see something that he couldn't believe. A small pixie was watching him, amazed that the boy wasn't looking at his feet anymore. It was clear that he wasn't too bright, but could he blame for it?

¨Who are you?¨ asked the fox, wondering if he was really seeing it or he was dreaming; sometime, dreams were hard to distinguish from reality, but with time, the differences were usually clearer.

¨My name is not important; I'm just a pixie that loves to help people who wants to make others happy; don't you want to make the others happy?¨ said the being, knowing that it enough for the small boy to believe him.

The boy looked at it, smiling; he didn't wonder why the creature came to him or how the creature knew about his goal. There was someone who could help him in his quest, someone who could make the people happy.

¨I can I make the people happy?¨ asked the fox, wondering what sort of power the pixie was holding. Maybe it would give some to him; maybe it would give him a magical item, to make the others feel joy and happiness.

¨Oh that is quite simple¨ said the pixie, holding a strange box in his hand. Without a word, he gave it to the boy, a quick smile rising on his face before he added ¨this is a special box; you have to use it on every house to spread the joy¨.

Without adding anything, the pixie vanished, leaving the fox confused for a moment, not sure of what he should do next. His desire for happiness made him took a choice and there he was, running toward the first house.

It was a house made of wood, like the others in the village. The people didn't have access to any other materials but they were proud of what they succeeded to build, for it was sturdy and able to hold many people.

There he was, running toward the first house; he wasn't sure how to use the box, but to spread joy, he would give anything a try. After several failures, he saw a colored spark escape the box and fall on the house; he thought it was a blessing, as he ran toward another one, as flames started to grow behind him.

The people started to panic; flames were everywhere, born out of nowhere. Some people were trapped in the houses, some lost everything. It was a disaster without a name and without a cause.

Until they saw him, running around with the box in his hand, trying to spread more flames around. He tried to explain that he spreading happiness around, but the words didn't have any effects on them. They tied him up on a pole in the middle of the village, determined to make him feel the same happiness they felt from him.

It was a festive event; people were dancing, happy to together, to have survived the tragedy and celebrating the end of it with a joyous bonfire, as the pixie was staring from afar, chuckling about his deed, wondering who could he help next
