This is just a quick of the first of an eight part commission for someone. It's shorter than I said originally, and for that I'm sorry. There was originally 2000 words, but the file became corrupted when I moved the file from my desktop to my laptop, and unfortunately I didn't save a backup file. However, I do remember what I wrote, and the file with the first two part's outline is still safe!

You find yourself in an abandoned room; there is nothing of interest around you other than what looks like a deflated shark laying on the ground. You walk up to it, wondering what this could have possibly been used for, running your hands over the sandpaper texture of the dorsal fin. You quickly realize that it's not actually a shark skin, but a realistic costume of one.

Out of curiosity, you begin to put it on, but as you pull the shark's 'head' over your own, you begin to feel a tightening sensation all over your body, as if the costume had suddenly begun to shrink around you. You begin to panic, the panic only worsening as you feel the costume tighten over your body, and you try to cry out, but as you open your mouth, it begins to widen, and you can feel more teeth filing in as it continues to extend.

You know this must look comical to anyone that may have been watching you, but your mind is quickly dissolving, adapting the brain of a shark rather than that of a human's. Your last cohesive thought was that you were never going to do this again, before your instincts completely took over.

The need to breathe was growing, and you reach a hand, which you notice has now partially become a fin, up to your neck, and feel slits along the side of it. You now have gills instead of lungs, as you can feel the organs in your body realigning themselves.

Your death throws were just beginning as you flopped across the ground, as if searching for water, until the ground opened beneath you, and you fell through into a large pool of water below. Your body has still not fully become that of a shark's, but your gills appreciate the feeling of water washing over them, dragging oxygen from the passing h2o.

As soon as you are in the water, you pause, hoping to get your bearings straightened out, but as soon as you pause, the feeling of 'breathing' was gone, you realize you must keep moving in order for your gills to process the oxygen. You kick your rapidly transforming legs until you can no longer move them separate them, and then instinct takes over, and your new tail slashes through the water, propelling you forward much more efficiently than your legs had been able to do before, and you feel a sense of 'pride' at the accomplishment.

Though your mind is now that of a shark's you can still feel flashes of human emotion, quickly tamped down again by your new-found existence. The emotions are mere ghosts, as if they are the last of their kind. You almost try to blink one last time and discover that you no longer have eyelids.

Your thoughts dissipate as you quickly realize that feel a deep seated need to feed; your nose is powerful, you drag in a a snout-full of air, looking for something, anything to fill your stomach with. At first there is nothing, the water seems clean. You realize you haven't seen any other living creatures since you dropped in; they must have been scared away by your own scent.

You long body whips back and forth as you swim through the water, your maw opening to taste the water to see if any creatures have been here recently. The smell of blood, however, attracts your attention; it is a faint scent, seemingly a long way away, but still strong enough that you cannot deviate from the path of finding the source of the smell.

It seems to take a long amount of time for the scent to become more locatable, but as you draw near, you realize that the chase was for naught; whatever had created the scent seemed to have fled, or had been eaten by another creature. A small flash of emotion, disappointment or anger, flashes through yor mind as you change direction again, back to your never ending search for food.
