#8 of The Other Dragon World

A Three-Way Chase

"Oh, so that roar came from this fucker?" said Red when he saw the purple dragon. "I thought a better reception is around."

Flame, that recognized the voice, shouted, "Red, what the fuck are you doing here?! Are you trying to pull something out behind your wings?!"

"No, we're just being here in term of luck," said Red. "Can you make this purple dragon stop that roar?!"

"He's like that because he sensed your presence!" exclaimed Seraphor while battle-ready. "Why don't you stop him?"

"I'd rather kill you all here and get out with it, so my master will be proud!"

After that, the purple dragon suddenly lunged toward Red, and the next moment they realized Red wasn't there, but instead right in front of the silver red. This caught Seraphor off-guard and Red managed to blow him away. The purple dragon was also held by some magical chains, but not for long.

Flame managed to shoot Red while the dragon was flying, making him winced since he didn't have time to protect himself. The raging dragon broke loose and started to lunge toward Red. The red dragon just had time to touch the dragon and make him sleep, thus returning it to Spyro (that was awake).

"Huh, what's...?"

Before he could finish his sentence Red pushed him back, and this made Seraphor able to shock the whole room with his electricity. The resulting effect caused Red to be electrocuted and became unconscious. Flame didn't get the effect because Seraphor asked him to glide at the middle of the room, while Spyro had resistance to electricity.

"Shit, man! You can kill that purple dragon!" exclaimed Flame. "Also, I'm surprised the place wasn't made from aluminium. It's expensive to make these shits."

"We gotta go before this red dragon regains consciousness," said Seraphor short.

"You didn't kill him?!"

"He managed to re-flow the electricity around the steel, so it neutralized half of the intended volt."

"Then, what? We can just kill him now, right? He's done terrible thing to Dragon Realm..."

"You're a dragon, not a demon. Humans also had this same thing about justice bringing. Only those low lives thinking on losing their friends will gonna kill a downed opponent without asking them on something. Also...we gotta go before the real monster came."

Sure enough. Another roar almost the same with Spyro's echoed through the dungeon. They then ran away toward a door beside Seraphor.

While running, Spyro asked, "Did I...did I just do that?"

"Do what?" replied Seraphor.

"I put both of your lives in danger again."

"No," said Flame. "No you didn't. Now you got the hang on controlling it. Anyway, when did you lose consciousness?"

"When I was sleeping I...kept dreaming of a dark purple dragon that was somehow...tortured by something unseen. It kept talking about something, but then I always saw he roared in pain and agony. I don't know what that was, but I felt like it was inside me. The next moment after I woke up was that Red was in front of me, holding me and pushing me."

"So, basically...you didn't know what the dragon inside you did to Red, did you?" said the silver red, which Spyro nodded.

"Though it may be hard for you to endure what is within you, you gotta stay optimist, man."

"You told that many times now."

"I never get bored on saying those. Shit..."

"What?" "Something is coming to our position pretty fast...and it's not a small thing."

A shadow came above them and the three of them stopped at the blue dragon once trying to take the elemental orb. He smiled at them and before they realized it the apparatus around them was on and they were inside a glass cylinder. Thinking it was dangerous Seraphor used fire, but it didn't have any effect.

"Oh, that's right. You can't even get out from the gas chamber with just that fire," said the blue dragon with a smile. "You got to think of something, but you'll all be dead."

"Shit! Fucking asshole! Get us out from here!" exclaimed Flame.

"Sera, something can't be done if we use any of our three elements. We need earth element," said Spyro.

"I can't control earth more than plants and rocks. How about you?"

"I...only can control plant."

"Shit...then I guess we'll try that shit again."

Seraphor then extended his wings then suddenly they saw the electricity around them was slowly depleting until the lights went out. The small gas chamber became full of electricity sensation that made Flame numb. Suddenly, the electricity was made around Seraphor and the silver red's wing was reformed with yellow electric humming sound. Then when Seraphor ran toward the wall and turn, Spyro saw the silver red had yellow eyes. The wing made a light cutting slash that hit the glass wall and through it, making a clean cut that almost hit the blue dragon. This made Spyro and Flame able to burn from the inside, hitting a switch that opened the chamber. They went out, but suddenly the horror came before them.

A big dark blue dragon, different from the blue dragon trapping them, was staring at them with menacing red eyes similar to what Spyro got when he turned into the menacing purple dragon. This one was clearly hostile, so Seraphor tried not to lose his concentration. Suddenly, he felt his leg was losing their energy and realized he used up too much energy for the wing electricity Ray taught him. He fainted soon.

After that, Red came from the side, destroying a section from the wall. He was clearly angry on how Seraphor could shock him and leaving him unconscious.

"That motherfucking dragon will die for what he's done for my body!" exclaimed Red.

"That fucker...this is not the time for that!"

Red realized what Spyro said. The dark blue dragon was standing in front of them and Red. The dragon, although being captivated for many years without any food, still look this big. Maybe the dragon was dying and would explode soon.

There was a three way battle, coming shortly after that. Spyro and Flame fighting both Red and the blue dragon (the smaller blue dragon was knocked unconscious by a debris after Red burst out from the other side). The three-way fight was a battle royal, with no one taking teams with others.

After a lengthy fight, Red managed to deflect a deadly charged maroon red fire coming out from the blue dragon's maw that destroyed the roof. From there Spyro saw that the red eyes and black base the dragon had slowly turned yellow while the black base still there. The dragon grabbed the three dragons and jumped away while venturing around the base. The destroyed roof sent some rocks flying down through the hole, almost trapping Red and the unconscious blue dragon.

"Hey, what the fuck are you doing?!" exclaimed Spyro. The dragon did reply him, but he suddenly fell and some steam came out from him. The dragon's big body slowly dissipated, revealing the true dragon under it.

The dragon was really sick, as if only skins covered in scales covering its bones. The tail tip was also reduced to bone, and its crude-colored white horn suggested he didn't get a good nutrition while being captivated.

"Go...," said the dragon weakly. "I'll stop them from here."

"We'll be the one helping you out." Then Flame whispered to Spyro. "Damn it, we're in a bad situation."

"I know. Just like the movies, huh?"

"No, not that! There are two dragons not capable on long fights. One is unconscious; one is like he was a zombie or some sort. We got to find any place to get out or...where's Sparx?" "I didn't see him when I was awake."

"He may have escaped. We got to find the exit or we're screwed."

"You two...I'm not talking about...those two," said the blue dragon. "I'm saying of a rampaging cyan dragon..."

The next moment, they realized a roar just tore through the wall, and they saw a brighter scaled blue dragon was standing in front of them. This one also had red eyes, but it was like being chained by some shackles in all of its four limbs. It was like a failed experiment captivated.

"A rampaging cyan dragon which was another experiment failure," said the blue dragon sad. "I should have told you this fact before."

"So, what will he do to us? Pulverize us into some atomic junks?"

"He's...a psychopath."

The dragon again jumped toward the dragons and they dodge as soon as it almost hit them. It was targeting the vulnerable dragons, including the blue thin one. But then, since the dark blue also induced with powerful elemental power, he shot a fire that produced a vortex that trapped the dragon inside. He then said, "We need to run!"

"Why?"

"Are you an idiot? He and I were test subjects for that goddamn orb! That small fire vortex won't do well for stopping him!"

Following his advice, Spyro and Flame ran away with Seraphor while the dark blue went with them. They ventured around the corridors with the dark blue as a guide, until they found a place.

"Sector 2G?" said Spyro before the dragon blasted through the door with condensed fire ball.

"Yes. Northwest wing Bio-dome."

"We went in from a bio-dome, too. But, this is a different place."

"In the old times, it's used for feeding the scientists and test subjects down here. Now, it's a big dome of jungle. Ah, that's the hole..."

A blast caught the dark blue's back with fire, and he fell roaring (the dark blue was a biped). The blast came from Red's magic.

"That motherfucker! We're in a situation here!"

"Situation your ass! Where's that silver red dragon?!"

A roar made Red turned and saw the monster running on all fours directly toward the dome. Red anticipated it with a shield, but the dragon rammed through it with ease. At this time, Seraphor was awake and seeing the position he was into, used his earth power to manipulate some plants with his paws. The resulting effect made the plants came to life and tangling Red with thorn-lined vines. This made Spyro said, "Sera, throw him!"

The silver red did what Spyro said. He threw Red across the room to a wall, in which he went through. Seraphor then asked the dark blue dragon about the condition, but he himself was also weak.

"Shit, that electricity manipulation was too much for my body," thought Seraphor. "The plant trick maybe the last."

The vortex vanished with a roar, and by that time the cyan dragon saw they were trying to fly up. The dragon then took pursuit with great speed, until the dark blue stopped his path with a fire wall.

"Go, I'll stop him!"

"But you'll die!"

"It's my destiny to die!"

"Shit! Survive this day and you'll see tomorrow!" said Seraphor.

A sudden flash of light blinded all of them, and the next moment they saw a fire, more powerful than the vortex engulfed the whole bio-dome, but not burning them. In the confusion, Seraphor, Flame, and Spyro saw the one using the fire was a long lost friend.

"Long time no see, Spyro. It has been two years since that time."

Spyro couldn't believe his old friend and mentor on fire was in front of him after clearly stating two years ago he wouldn't meet the dragon sooner or after. The dragon, covered with bright fire red scales and dark orange slit eyes, made a fire typhoon that trapped the enemies down and saving the four of them.

"Ignitus...you're back..."

"Not only me, young purple dragon, but the rest of the guardians as well. They're waiting for you. I will take the blue dragon with me."

While they were flying, Spyro asked, "When did you come back? I thought you said the world is not in a peril for a long time my age would go."

"We're still the guardians of elements, but our role is lessened until your descendant came for the next age. We decided to move our temple to the skies of Dragon Realm," said Ignitus. "And...what are you doing having a battle like that?"

"Red is doing mischievous plot with capturing Ember, but we don't have any time to even ask the dragon. I suspect something is behind those shit..."

"Red?"

"Another villain coming after Malefor was defeated. He's a small timer."

"You're not changing, huh, Spyro?" said Ignitus with a chuckle. "I bet those horns are getting bigger, but not your head. There may be a bigger problem if the dragon you called Red is making a bigger scheme from the scheme that gave the problem to Dragon Realm."

"Maybe..."

"The silver red...what's your name?"

"My name is Seraphor."

"I feel a great future from you. You are almost the same with Spyro, but...you're more mature."

"Thanks." "Okay, we're landing here."

The purple dragon was amazed on how he found his old mentor and friends were all waiting him. Spyro knew all of them. Ignitus was a wise and quick-thinking fire guardian that found Spyro and also the one saving him from the Dark Master's clutch when he was still an egg. Volteer was a wise-cracking talkative electric guardian with yellow scales and black belly part. Although Volteer was annoying, he was very good when it came to technology. Cyril was the youngest, the only ice guardian with scales covered with eternal ice. He was very unique in term of eyes since he was the only dragon Spyro knew not having slit eyes, but normal black circle in the middle of light blue icy colored iris. Terrador was the oldest. He was an earth guardian, but very hot-headed and tended to rush. He still thought Spyro was a kid, but he was the one responsible on how Spyro could manipulate plants.

"Oh, so this kid is still the same, eh?" said Terrador with a smile. "Hey, kid, how are ya?"

"Fine, really, Terrador," said Spyro with a smile. The earth dragon then put his right front paw, colored like wood bark, over Spyro's horn without having any concern that they would pierce him.

"Ah, same ol' Spyro," said Volteer. "You really should try having a good development on your age. You're getting mature, you know. It will be different..."

"Volteer, you never changed."

"Yeah, am I? Oh, thanks, you're blushing me out."

"Anyway, Spyro, you're getting warmer. Are you having a fever..."

"Let's just have the talk at the Temple while they get some rest, shall we?" interrupted Ignitus.

After the short chat, all of the flyable dragons opened their wings and proceed to the place indicated by Ignitus, through the portal through the Dragon Realm and onto the sky.
