#2 of Together in song

Yet again, I forgot to include an age (apparently I'm bad at that ^.^; ), so to clarify, Melody is 29 at present. Probably not as old as some people may have been guessing. Obviously, Melody, the vixen, and Aria, the skunk, are an item now, and were just heading out to dinner with big brother Butch, the black bear. Thus, I'm continuing where I left off since people liked the story so much and wanted me to clear up the cliffhanger. Enjoy =^.^=

  • * * Aria usually wasn't really one for buffets, as they usually consisted greatly of meat, the only meat of which she ate being fish, and anyway she never needed more than one, maybe one and a half plates, but the selection now spread in front of her wasn't one she wished to pass up on, even if she had to half-gorge herself on small portions of nearly everything. Fruit, vegetables, and noodles put together in creative and sometimes not-so-creative, simple, ways, and a fair spread of fish and other assorted seafood, no chicken, beef, pork, or anything of the like in sight. Why she'd never known about this place, a short 2-mile drive from Melody's house, which wasn't all that far from her own house, before was completely beyond her. Maybe she just needed to get out and about the town more. "See anything you like?" Butch asked, still towering over the young skunk, holding a plate for himself, which he'd already topped with a few things from around the tables. "Oh!" Aria came back to earth with a snap, realizing she was gawking at the general space in front of her, a still-empty plate balanced between her hands. "I'm just...not used to a buffet that wasn't meat in all varieties..." "I guess that's understandable. This place is kind of unusual, huh?" Butch chuckled, a low rumble from his throat. "Help yourself to anything, we've already paid for our overall meals." "Right...I guess I should probably stop standing here like some weirdo..." Aria giggled softly, navigating her way around the tables and the few other patrons in the restaurant at this somewhat unusual time of day for a buffet, filling her plate with this and that, finding it hard to make up her mind what she wanted to load her first, and possibly last, plate with. Though she did intend to go up for a second plate, even if she did end up full. "What took you so long?" Melody asked jokingly, about one-quarter of the way finished with her first plate, half of her overall selection seeming to consist of fish, by the time Aria finally finished filling up her plate, taking a seat by the vixen at the booth they'd been led to after initially paying, Butch sitting across from them, taking up a good portion of the seat himself. The girls had fit themselves on the inside, while the bear, whose legs filled a good amount of the space under the table before him, was on the outside, so he wouldn't have to struggle to go too far onto the seat. Fortunately, the booth was long enough for all this to be possible, so it wasn't too much of an issue. "Sorry, just not used to a buffet where I can eat anything it has," Aria said, starting on her plate. "Don't tell me you've never been here before?" Melody asked, somewhat surprised. "I wish," Aria giggled. "But I guess having my first visit here now makes it more special than if I had." "She's got you there," Butch chuckled, swallowing down the large mouthful of food he'd scooped into his mouth with a few forkfuls. "I've been wondering, though, what've you been doing all the time you've had to leave so quickly after the concerts?" Aria asked, glancing over to Melody. "Oh, that? Don't worry, it's not some dirty secret or anything," the vixen giggled. "I just like to get an early night's rest, since the show usually starts at 8 and I've always liked to get to bed and read a little around 8:30 or so." "That early?" "Well, then I have some shows I like to watch and I usually get to sleep around 11." "You've been leaving me in the bar for TV?" Aria said jokingly, giggling. "It's not like I want to, but I don't have a VCR or anything like that to record it." "Which I've told her a few times she should get," Butch added amusedly. After that brief conversation, the three returned to their food, Butch finishing rather earlier than the other two for the pace he could eat with his size and going up for a second plate. A short while after, the girls finished their food and went up for a second plate together, Aria feeling that she still had some room to fit some more of the items she wanted to try. Some time passed in silence as the three ate, Butch finishing a third plate by about the time that the girls downed their second, and it seemed it was about time to leave after that filling meal. "...I...think we should tell my parents now..." Aria said quietly, blushing slightly. "Better early than late, then?" Melody asked softly, slipping an arm around the young skunk's shoulders. "There's that..." Aria started. "And anyway, we have Butch with us now as well, for just in case, I guess..." "Sounds fair to me," Butch agreed, not seeming to have any problem with the statement. "You'll just have to lead me to your house." A short drive later found the three at Aria's home, and the skunk knocked on the door, Melody and Butch standing behind her, feeling a little awkward about knocking on the door to her own house but wanting her parents to come out instead of leading Melody and Butch in, feeling her parents might not react to that quite so well. "Oh, it's you, Aria..." Aria's mother was the first to answer the door. She was built similarly to her daughter, but taller, with a more mature body and face, and longer hair. Following shortly after her was her husband, a well-built man wearing a dark blue T-shirt that barely contrasted to his black fur with the sleeves torn off, and a simple pair of blue jeans. "And...Melody, right?" the older female skunk asked the vixen, who smiled and nodded. "And...you are...?" she asked the large black bear, looking a little nervously up to his face. "Butch, ma'am," the bear answered politely. "I'm a friend of these two." "Butch..." the skunk muttered, and looked back down to her daughter. "So why'd you knock on the door? You know you can come in whenever you like." "I just...had something I needed to tell you, and I figured this was probably the best place to..." Aria started nervously. "You're not moving out with these two, are you?" her father asked somewhat sternly, glancing over Butch. "No, I..." Aria began, looking to the ground, the rim of her glasses blocking part of her vision, and beginning to blush. "I'm...in love with Melody..." she finally finished, not wanting to look up at her parents' reactions. If she had, she'd see that her mother was surprised and a little sad, and her father was simply upset. "You're in...what?" her father asked, hoping he hadn't heard what he thought he'd heard, or that she wasn't serious. "I'm in love with her, dad..." "...it's a phase," the male skunk stated as if it was undeniable fact. "You'll get over it. You'll stop going to that bar and seeing this girl, and we'll even help you find some boy you like." "No, it's not, dad," Aria protested, and her father seemed about to react harshly before taking a glance at the automatically-threatening presence of Butch. "Please...I know what I'm feeling..." "Then leave. I don't want any talk of girls being with girls in my house." "But..." "Now!" her father cut her off, causing Aria to wince slightly before she felt a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Come on, I'll let you stay at my place," Melody said softly, taking a brief glance at Aria's father, who glared fiercely at her. Good thing Butch was there, she thought. "I'll leave her things packed outside the front door tomorrow, then," Aria's father responded, holding back his anger for worry of the bear's reaction. Probably why the brute was brought there in the first place. "Pick them up if you want them, I don't care. Goodbye." With that, he directed his wife back into the house, closing the door to the three standing outside it. That night Aria spent alone on the couch where she'd told the vixen she'd loved her, gently turning down the offer to share a bed with Melody at least for the night, wishing to get over what had just happened on her own, mostly so that the vixen wouldn't have to see her tears. It made it difficult to sleep, but the couch was comfortable and she kept the radio on at a low volume for some comforting sound instead of plain silence. It would be hard being detached from her family, but she at least had her lover, Melody. Not to mention Butch, Melody's unofficial brother, and now hers as well, she supposed, since she and Melody were together. "Hey...rise and shine," Aria's ears, catching a soft voice and a lack of sound from the radio, perked up, and their owner grumbled a little, rolling onto her back and slowly opening her eyes halfway, the ceiling too blurry to make out at the moment. "Nnn...what time is it?" the skunk asked groggily, sitting up and rubbing her eyes, trying to get them to focus, not exactly helped by the fact that her glasses were sitting where she'd left them on the table, by the radio. "Time for breakfast," the voice said, and she saw a somewhat blurred hand place her glasses on her face. Looking around a little, the first thing Aria saw was that she'd apparently tossed the blanket she'd been given off of her at some point during the night. Immediately after she saw Melody standing over her, smiling pleasantly, and caught a whiff of something in another room, some blend of fruit as far as she could tell. "I'm...sorry about all this..." Aria said quietly, returning her gaze to the floor. "I probably should've waited, instead of ending up causing all this trouble..." "What trouble? I can't say I expected your parents to take it that badly, but it'll be nice having someone else around instead of just living on my own. Sure, Butch stops in from time to time, but he has his own place," Melody said. "Oh, and by the way, I called in some movers to pick up your things a little later, so I'll finally be able to put my empty room upstairs to use." "Thanks, Melody..." Aria said, smiling up to the vixen, who returned the smile. "So, what's for breakfast, anyway?" "I've got some fruit kabobs done, and some pancakes. Hope you like that sort of thing." "It definitely smells good, so how can I say no?" Aria giggled. After the somewhat late breakfast, the doorbell rang, and Melody went out to answer it, finding the movers a little earlier than expected. Signing the form they had, she stood back and allowed them to carry the disassembled bed, the desk and computer, a chair for it, a TV stand, a TV, and a few boxes of other things up to the room she directed them to, and the two that had come with the truck even went so far as to put the bed back together before leaving. "I suppose now all that remains is to unpack everything else. Care for some help with it?" Melody asked, the two girls standing in Aria's new room. "Yeah, I'd really appreciate that," Aria nodded, and they proceeded to unload everything and put it in its place a box at a time, starting with the clothes, which were hung up or put in one of the drawers below the bed, working up through the books to go in the desk and another drawer, and various other things Aria had for hobbies, recreation, or school work or activities. By the time they finished by placing the clock on the headstand of the bed, they saw that almost three hours had passed of the steadily exhausting activity. "So...what do you do during the day, anyway? You must have something since you only perform one night a week," Aria asked, looking to Melody, both girls having slumped down in a sitting position on the bed, which had been made once the clothes were done being put in their place. "Well, since you're living here now anyway...maybe you'd like to transfer to the school I teach at?" Melody offered, finding a surprised look from Aria. "You teach high school?" "Used to teach middle school a little, then I got transferred up. Can't have singing as my only possible career choice, it's not always all that reliable anyway. Kind of luck for people that catch a break to become big in the world of music," Melody said. "Well, I can't say I haven't thought of transferring out of my current school. I'm not sure I really have any friends there, and maybe in a different school there won't be as many people getting at me just because I'm a skunk," Aria said thoughtfully, looking out the window. "That's settled, then," Melody smiled. "I'll call your school and have them transfer everything to the one I teach at, and make sure you get the same classes there." "So what do you teach, anyway? So I can maybe get someone I know as a teacher..." "Music, of course," Melody giggled. "A little orchestra, but mostly singing, working on someone's voice and some work with lyrics." "That's not a class I currently have, unfortunately..." Aria said, a little disappointed. "Are there any classes you don't like?" "Well...there's gym class, but I'm only re-taking it to stay on the track and gymnastics teams..." "Athletic, are we?" Melody giggled. "Not really, running and being flexible are about all I've got. If I tried any actual sports, I'd probably be horrible. I don't exactly have the best reflexes or strength, except maybe in my legs a little..." "Well, then, Gym will be off the schedule. It's certainly not required to join those teams at your new school. I'll take care of the transfer now and just let you get settled up here. If you need anything, it's not so big a house that you can't find me easily." That night Aria spent in her new room, her thoughts sometimes, but rarely, drifting back to her parents during the day. It wasn't as if she really wanted to, but it seemed to move on she'd have to all but forget about them. They certainly weren't going to let her come back, anyway. The next day, she woke up at her normal time for school, taking a shower in the upstairs bathroom and using one of the towels folded up in the cabinet, putting on fresh clothes for the day, which she realized she'd failed to do the day before, and walking downstairs to find Melody already down, the small radio in the kitchen playing and an almost-empty plate of left-over pancakes in front of her, another plate laid out across from her on the table. "About ready for your new school?" the vixen asked as Aria took a seat, starting on her pancakes. "I think so...it feels kind of strange transferring in the middle of the semester, though..." "I wouldn't worry about it too much, just relax and be yourself." "Yeah, but...well, I still have to know when and where my classes are," Aria giggled softly, recalling that she hadn't yet been given this information since Melody had arranged the transfer. A few minutes later, Melody had written out her class schedule for her, and the pair walked to the school together, which wasn't very far from Melody's house. It was still in the same city as Aria's previous high school, but covered the other half of it. The vixen bidding her farewell to go to her own classroom, Aria walked nervously into the halls of the new school, expecting at any moment to be greeted by the usual single-focused insults. Instead, most of the students didn't seem so bad, though there were inevitably a small few that said she stunk. The first few periods passed with an introduction before the class as a new student, and Aria steadily got a feel for her new classes. Finally, fourth period arrived after lunch, which would be music class. The one Melody was teaching and had gotten her enrolled in successfully. "Everyone, this is Aria, your new classmate. I hope you'll all treat her with respect," Melody introduced the young skunk before the seven other students, five of which were female, no two of which were the same species. One of the girls was even a bird, a white swan. All of the students, it appeared, were sophomores like Aria, each 15 or 16 years old. "Um...hi, everyone..." Aria said a little nervously, glancing over the class. "I'm sure all of you wouldn't mind if she did a little song right now to show you all why she's in this class," Melody said, glancing over to Aria, who nodded timidly, displaying her song for the class to hear, wishing she was able to do it more quietly for speakers to simply do the work of the volume but knowing she couldn't because there were no speakers in the room, except perhaps the one for announcements from the office. Not sure what she was expecting for a response, Aria found herself praised and clapped for by the other students, who quickly became some of the friends she came to gain through the school, along with some of those on the track and gymnastics teams, all caught by surprise by her show of talent in each of the three venues. A few weeks later, Aria's thoughts plagued each night by that first time really together with Melody, she made up her mind, removing all of her clothes and placing them on her bed, looking over to the clock at the headstand. Almost eleven at night. Melody would still be up, probably just finishing her programs. Wandering carefully out to the hall toward the vixen's door, not able to see quite as well without her glasses, Aria took a deep breath, opening the door enough so she could slip through, the room lit only by Melody's TV on a stand across from the bed. "Huh? Aria?" the vixen asked sleepily, looking over to the young skunk. Immediately catching her attention, causing her eyes to widen slightly and her to be mentally jolted awake, was the fact that the girl wasn't wearing anything, only the second time she'd allowed the vixen to see her full, uncovered body. "Is it...alright if I spend the night with you, at least for tonight?" Aria asked quietly, her faint blush hidden by the lack of decent lighting in the room. "Of course it is," Melody smiled, shifting over on the bed and pulling down half of the blankets so there was an opening on the side opposite her. "There's no real need for you to ask." Smiling and nodding, regaining some of her confidence, Aria climbed into the quite comfortable bed, pulling the pink-tinged sheet and blanket over herself and immediately snuggling up to Melody, finding that she was only wearing a pair of shorts. Giving a contented sigh, Melody wrapped an arm around the skunk, drawing her closer and shifting her tail under the covers to drape over one of the girl's legs. Nuzzling her nose into the vixen's neck, Aria gave it a few affectionate licks, suddenly blinded as the TV shut off, Melody shifting her body so the two were facing each other, breasts pressing up against the other's. Cupping the skunk's face lightly in her hands, Melody smiled as she saw the girl's eyes travel directly to hers, locking in place as if all control over them had been lost. "I...want to be yours, forever..." Aria said softly, gazing into the beautiful vixen's eyes. "Then I'll be yours...always..." Melody replied, sealing the confession with a deep, loving kiss, caressing the black fur of the skunk's back with one of her hands, tracing along one of Aria's sides with a few fingers from the other, feeling the covers shift as one of the skunk's hands reached behind her, unbuttoning the shorts she was wearing from above the base of her tail and sliding them down part of the way, revealing, as usual for such humanoid creatures with tails, the undergarments attached to them for convenience. Shoving the shorts off the rest of the way to be left hidden beneath the covers, Melody pressed the rest of her body against her lover's, gentle, pleasured murring emanating from the skunk at the pleasure of it. All doubts about being with another female as opposed to a male well since lost, Aria let her tail once more find the vixen's, the bushy tails wasting little time once meeting in wrapping around each other, resting themselves over the girls' legs, stroking lightly up and down them, guided along mostly by Melody's tail. That done, she parted her lips slightly, in turn parting the vixen's the same amount, sliding her tongue into the older female's mouth, lightly caressing it against Melody's, eliciting another pleasure-full sigh from her nose. Slowly breaking the kiss after a short while, allowing her tongue to say its good-bye to Aria's, Melody leaned down and nuzzled into the skunk's neck, nipping at it gently, feeling the pleasant vibrations from Aria's murring increasing in intensity as the girl tilted her neck up, opening more of it to the vixen. Continuing to move her hands across Aria's body, they eventually came to her breasts, squeezing lightly at them, causing the skunk to gasp in surprise and pleasure, beginning to arch her back into the vixen. Encouraged onward, Aria's hands fumbled over Melody's body, across her back, her sides, her arms, light caresses here and there in her blind search, feeling out everywhere that the vixen was, allowing a visual image that ended with her breasts, one of Aria's hands stroking across the side of the one currently on top, the vixen nipping a bit harder, but not near enough to cause any pain. "Mmm..." Melody moaned softly, kissing Aria's neck. "Enjoying this?" "Y...yeah..." Aria managed to mutter out, unable to force her mouth to form any other words, starting to rub her slit against Melody's, the vixen gasping slightly and steadily placing affectionate licks lower down Aria's neck, kicking off the covers while she was at it, the building heat becoming too much to handle the sheet and blanket's retaining it. Feeling a slight change of position was in order, Melody continued by pressing her body further against Aria's, rolling the skunk on her back while letting as little of their bodies cease touching during that moment as possible, placing herself on top of the younger female, the licks from her soft canine tongue travelling down to one of Aria's breasts, which she released from one of her hands. "Mmm...M...Melody..." Aria moaned, Melody's tongue finding its way to her nipple, which it lapped at somewhat hungrily, tasting every part of it. All the while, she could feel something, her 'climax' she believed she'd heard it was called, building between her legs as she continued to rub her slit against Melody's. Returning her tongue to her mouth, Melody instead lowered her mouth to the nipple, nipping at it a few times, which caused Aria to arch her back harder up into the vixen, before taking it into her mouth and suckling gently on it, sensations flowing through the skunk that she'd never felt anything near before, never thought she'd feel anything like. "Ah...I...I'm going to..." Aria muttered, that feeling between her legs nearing its peak, squirming around a little before Melody straddled her legs around her, both their slits partly open and wet. Finishing up with what it seemed she needed to do, the vixen released her mouth from Aria's hardened nipple, giving it one final lick before lifting her head back up so her face was directly above the skunk's, locking eyes with her in a loving gaze, which seemed to weaken the younger girl. Licking the skunk's lips once, she kissed her deeply, sliding her tongue into her mouth, where the skunk's was eagerly waiting to meet it. Unable to hold on to it any longer, Aria clutched Melody hard to her, deepening the kiss as her climax came, seeming to trigger the vixen's as she tensed, the force of each quelled by the other's slit. Settling down beneath the vixen, Aria loosened her grip, sighing contentedly and murring softly, wishing never to release her, never to let her or this feeling leave. "Comfortable?" Melody asked, breaking the kiss and smiling warmly, a certain amount of exhaustion showing on her face, her energy mostly spent from this encounter. "I couldn't be more..." Aria said quietly, closing her eyes and focusing on nothing but resting there, the vixen's mature body laying over hers. "Good," the vixen said, placing one last, loving kiss on the skunk's lips. "So, will you be sleeping in here regularly, then?" "Shouldn't I?" the skunk smiled jokingly, keeping her eyes firmly, contentedly closed. "I'll take that as a yes," Melody replied happily, loosening her body for it to rest lightly atop Aria's, nuzzling her nose into her neck. "Good night, love." "Good..." Aria yawned, then finished. "...night..."
