Chapter three

It had been months since Maire had passed away. Jack had seemed to lose his will to live. A doctor came into the room with some food and a letter. "Hey Jack we got some good news for you." He smiled and laid the letter on the table next to him. The food was left on the desk for later. Jack sighed and picked up the latter and read it as the doctor left the room. The latter read as the following:

"Hello Jack. I am sorry for your lost. We know that you are one of the few with an illness that has made your life short and uncertain. However, we are testing a way to give people like you a new chance at life. Please let us know if you wish to fine that new chance at life. From Chakat Oceanrider."

Jack sighs and looks at it again. He didn't know what he should do. Then a thought cross his mind. What would Maire say? She would say something like this. 'You get your butt up and tell them yes you will like to try this.' He throws his head back and burst out laughing. "Yeah she would tell me that. And she would pull me out of the bed too." He knew now what he should do. Laid down the latter and look around the room. He was shock to see plates of food covering the whole desk. He guessed that he hadn't eaten anything for the past few days. So he got up and grabbed the new plate and want to town on the food. At that moment, he realized he was hungry.

A few hours later the doctor came back into the room and grinded as he seen Jack finally eating something. "So I take it that you want to go and be part of that test?" Jack nodded. "That is what she would have wanted me to do. She would have dragged my ass out that bed and forced me to do it." The doctor just laughed and nodded too. Jack was right about that. Maire was not one to let someone wasted their life away as Jack was doing.

"I will inform Chakat Oceanrider of your chose to try it." The doctor said as he walked back out the door, but stopped as he opened the door. "Oh Jack, I want to let you know that we are proud of you." Jack just smiled back. He needed to hear those words from someone. As he goes to his chair to read, sharp pains want through his chest. He grabbed his chest and falls to the ground. The doctor runs out of the room to get help. This was the worse than any other time. He gasped for air as he felt every breath stabs him. Doctors finally got back in there in time to get him stable and resting in bed.

A few weeks later Jack was on his way to see Oceanrider. He was kept under heavy medication to keep him from going into another coughing fit. One of the doctors looked down at him and smiled. "Jack you know that Maire never left you." Shi lightly touched his chest. "She will ways be with you in your heart." A smile came to Jack as he slept.

Within a few hours, they made it to Oceanrider's lab. The building was nothing much, but it held Jack's last chance for normal life. He yawned as he walked over to the transporter. He looked at the techs at the controls. "So you're saying that I will be given a new body free of this illness?" They just nodded and being entering all the needed buttons. Jack looked around, as there seem to be a light forming around him.

At the moment he felt disconnect from his body. The world around him seemed so bright. It felt like a long time has passed while he was engulfed in by the light. Next thing he saw Maire come up to him. He rush to her and held her close to him. "Oh Maire, I missed you so much. If I have died then I shall be happy for now on cause you are with me." She smiled and put a finger on his lips.

"Oh Jack, your still as silly as ever. Your time has not come just yet. You have so much to do and you have a person to meet to help them in life. I know you to well Jack, you can't stop from helping others. Promise me Jack that you will love them as much as you did me." He was lost at what she was telling him, but he nodded his head. "Anything for you Maire." She smiled and lightly kissed him one last time before fading off.

The lights around him grew dim as he being to open his eyes. From the look of things, he was not in the building where he was before. He began to sit up and notice that he felt lighter. As he moved his body up he felt something pull right above his butt. He lets out a yawl. A doctor rushed in and giggled. "So it seems that you just got up." Jack was lost. "How long have I been out?" He blinked, as the voice that came was not the one he had before.

The doctor moved close to Jack and put a hand on his shoulder. "Well we had some problems with the pattern use to make your new body. And well there were a few errors in the data that cause a few changes to happen that we didn't see coming." The doctor holds up a mirror. In the mirror, looking back at him was a cat morph with long flowing blond hair and black and yellow spots all over the fur coat. The mirror moved back to reveal not only was he now a cat morph, but a female cat morph.

Jack passed out for a few hours more. She got up and looked around. The doctor smiled and held up a cute little outfit. Jacks jaw dropped and he looked down. She realized that all she had on was a robe like thing. "Thank you very for the outfit. It would be nice to walk around without feeling a breeze on my butt. The doctor laughs and lays the outfit on the chair. "Well come on out when you have change. There are a few people who want to have a word with you."

After a while of trying to figure out how to put on some of the clothing left for her. "How do girls do this every day?" She grumbled as she walks out the door to only see three people standing outside the door. "Hello?" One of them walked up and held out a hand. "Hello Jack, I'm Mr. Grin. I will help send in your new I.D." She nods to him and shakes his hand. "First thing we need to do is find you a new name. If you want to, we can change both your first and last name if you want. Do you have an idea on what you wish your new name to be?"

Jack put his hand to his little snout and gives a little rubbed, he had already picked the name. It was an easy chose to make. She wanted to have Maire live on some way. To also give her a chance to live a better life, even if it was only on in name. "I wish to be called Maire Dawn. I always thought the last name sounded better with her first." She giggled and smiled. "Maire Dawn, the girl cat. I like it." Mr. Grin just smiled and nods. "There done. You are now officially Maire Dawn. Oh yes, I did forget to inform you that your parents have made it back a little while after your change. Yes they were shock to find out that their olds son was now a female cat morph. But where happy beyond words to also find out that not all the coding change. The one thing we all want to happen did happen. You are cured."

She was shock and about drop to the floor. "I am free..." She said a few time not fully believing her own ears. "Maire it's true. You are cure." Maire got up and nods. "I don't know what to say. It's been a lot to take in, in such a short time." She smiled and pointed to her tail. "Like that. It seems to move on its own at times." They all just laugh. She giggled and does a spin in the outfit that was given to her. The rest of the day was spent getting things setup and out of the way.

As the days pass, people came in and out to run test on her to make sure everything was working in the right way. They even found out that she had every working part a true girl would have. They warned her that she could get pregnant. Maire was a little shock and didn't know how to deal with the information given. They did say that the pattern was able to such things and that she was lucky to even be alive right now. They told her about how the whole system froze and came back just in time to do whatever a transport does. They explain what it did. Nevertheless, like with anyone at her age, it wanted in one ear and out the other.

It had been a few hours and feeling that was well known to her came and walked into the bathroom. She pulled down the panties and waited. Then it hit her, she was truly no longer a guy and didn't have what he used to take a pee. She tried to remember how girls took a pee. A sigh left her lips as she took a seat and did what had to be done. Later lying in bed while watching a vid, a nurse came in with a smile on hir face. "I heard that you are learning all the fun things about being a female." Maire blink and sighs. "How did you hear about it?"

The nurse just giggled and grinned. "Just a lucky guess, just knew that nature would be making a call." She just sighed and laughed too. "It was scary, it was just new. Let's say that I learn why girls always tell guys to leave the seat down after their done." The nurse couldn't hold in the burst of laughter that came out of hir. "I guess you did. Well just remember there is more to come and you should be ready, being a female cat morph is not going to be a walk in a park for a guy." Maire was lost to what that means, but she would find out soon enough.

Month pass as Maire learn what she could about her new body. She found a few pages about cat and other morphs. She found a part that talked about females. "Most females will go into a heat. This is when the female is at peek to mate and produce offspring." She read aloud to herself. There was more. "Some effects that one might see in a female are increase sexual needs. This might vary from female to female." At this, she gulped and read more about this heat. She wanted to know when it would happen. "A female may go into heat once a month." Her mind raced and she tried to think when this would hit her. It had been about a month.

She shudders at the thought of going to into heat. She couldn't bring herself to see doing it with a man. In the back of her mind, she was still a man on the inside. Days pasted and nothing really happen. That was till she seen a male doctor walk past her in the hallway on her way to the gum for a work out. She looked him up and down and thought that he looked hot. She stopped in her steps and shocked her head. 'No...no...no, that is a guy. A guy, I shouldn't be thinking of him that way.'

Things didn't get better from there. She being to wanting to do more with the males she seen. Then it click, she was in heat. It wasn't as bad as the books made it out to be, but she was only in day one of seven. The only thing she could think of that would help her work this out in her mind was to take a long hot shower. Any more showers where longer than before. She now has all this fur and hair to clean. It was still new to her how to get clean.

The hot water running down her fur felt so good. 'Maire, you're still Jack the male on the inside aren't you?' This was really bugging her. Nothing about her mind change, only her body changed. She was still Jack on the inside, but what she was feeling didn't feel wrong. It just felt new and different. After a while, she got lost in the warm water flowing down her body. 'Oh goodness this feels so good on my body.' She began to shudder. There was a knock on the bathroom door and she snap back to what was going on in the world around her. She quickly wrapped a towel around her hips and opened the door. Only to find a young male nurse waiting at the door. He looked up at her and his face turned completely red. She blinked and looked down at where his hand pointed at, she let out a meep and runs back into the bathroom and fixes her towel problem.

"Sorry about that. I don't usually have anyone stop by when or shower. And still getting use to covering up my upper body." She smiled as she spoke to the young man.

"It's okay Maire. I'm just here to let you know that a family is willing to adopt you into their family. All I was told is that they only know you are Maire Dawn. You are a young 17-year-old cat morph. They are humans if you are wondering." He smiled and walked out the door. When she was Jack, she had a family, a mother, father, two little bothers, and a sweet older sister. Her luck just ran out with them. The whole family but the sister was in the wrong place. His older sister was out on a date with her now husbanding. The rest of the family was hanging out at a local park. On that day there was attack by some local group wanting to make a name for themselves.

Her sister was still young at the time and could not take of her sick little bother. So her sister give up rights to take care of him and let him live in the care of the medical facility. So that was how she ended up living here and now someone want her to join their family. After drying off and walking to her bed, found a note lying on her pillow. She looked at and just giggled. The note read:

Hey little bro or should I say little sis now, as you should remember me and my boyfriend got married a year ago. And well I had been bugging him for the whole time that you join us a family. AND HE JUST SAID YES!!!! Well see you soon little sis.
