#6 of The Other Dragon World

Capital Realm, the City of all Creatures

Seraphor felt the almost similar sensation when his body was drawn into the dark wormhole directly to this world, but this one, although still hurt, didn't feel exhausting like the one pulling him. Maybe it's because it's not an inter-dimensional portal and he was in a prime state.

In a blink, the scenery in front of him changed into outdoors and at night, full of chatting creatures, and surprisingly, they were all anthropomorphic. Many animals, of course, ranging from many species, were found here. Many dragons also came here, and somehow they could see a portal gate.

"Wait a sec...did Professor said our magic will be depleted once we reached the other side?!" said Flame. "What is that portal?!"

"I can see...Warfang from there. Oh, that is..."

"The portal from 'Portal'?"

"Well, maybe...but it's more magical so...maybe professor is not...hey, Seraphor!"

They realized Seraphor had used the portal to cross back to Warfang, but returned safely without having to faint.

"Guys, it's not really that scary," said Seraphor while putting his head through the portal. "See?"

"Yeah...maybe."

But when Flame tried it, he became drowsy and his eyes swirled, feeling dizzy, then he fell.

"Uh...it feels like my energy is being drained..."

"Flame! Don't force it!"

When they pulled their way out...

"Shit, Professor is right...but how could those dragons..."

"Protective layer," said Sparx. "Real neat. While would Professor forgot that?"

"He's old, okay? But...I didn't get dizzy."

"Maybe you also had unlimited magic."

"No, I would get exhausted on using too much elements I can't use normally, like fire! Okay, so...where do we start?"

"Capital Realm is a big city, unlike Warfang, so we won't find anything sooner or after," said Spyro. "We need to stay calm and try to find out more information. Rushing is not the way."

"I know, man, but this is not a game. We're in a deep manner situation."

"Deep manner? More like...desperate manner," said Sparx correcting Flame's word.

"Yeah, right..."

"Anyway...first thing first."

Seraphor then suddenly fell over his knees and yawned. He wanted to lay down when the two dragons realized this and torched him with their flamethrower breath. Seraphor then yelped.

"Dude, we're not homeless!" exclaimed Flame. "I know...I'm tired too."

"Wait a sec, you two. This is not the time..."

Sparx flew closer to Spyro and said, "Spyro bro, they went through the magical portal. Maybe they became exhausted."

"Oh, this is not fair! Why do I have to take care on two fucking tired dragons in the middle of the fucking avenue?!"

"I'm not sleepy, just tired, okay?" said Flame. "But this silver red, he..."

Unknown to them, Seraphor went to sleep when Spyro was complaining. When the purple dragon tried to wake him up, he realized that when Seraphor used the electric step Spyro felt another aura, an ice aura. He touched the water when Seraphor was running on it and felt the freezing aura the dragon released.

"Seraphor used combination elements? He...he used his four magic elements into that extend?"

"Combination elements?" asked Flame.

"It's a technique only used when you have two or more elements. The elders said that the combination effect is always greater than an element. But...they said it needed many training and unlimited magic, so virtually, only purple dragons are able to use it."

"Why can't you, then?"

"Well...the truth is...I'm not good enough in using two or more at the same time. Seraphor is the first dragon not from the purple scales that is able to use it. But then...he's fucking rocks!"

"Eh?"

"Oh, maybe...we gotta find a place to stay. He's exhausted after using the combination elements. But...he's bigger than me..."

"Wait, let me try to pull...wait a sec...he weighs like a feather! Fuck, he's really light."

"No way! Is he really stuffed with feather or what?!"

After two hours of sleeping, Seraphor woke up on a bed while Flame was watching him and both Spyro and Sparx were not seen. The red dragon seemed to be yawning and swishing his tail around, saying that he was bored.

"Heh...we can only rent a room from a cheap motel," said Flame. "No DVD player and TV, so it's really boring in here, just waiting for you to wake up."

"I...I'm sorry, really! I was in the verge of collapsing when we crossed the portal and...and I felt numb so I collapsed," replied Seraphor with panicked motion.

"Oh? But, you talked normally before."

"That's not the case!"

"Alright, alright. Spyro and Sparx were going to a supermarket to fetch some foods. I asked him if there's a raw meat, but he said his shells were not enough to buy a raw meat...for you."

"For me?"

"You're the carnivorous dragon we always watched in TV, so of course your main diet is a meat."

"It's okay if there's none."

"You tell him that! The supermarket is down the avenue to the left and there it is, at the end of the road."

"Thanks for the info."

Meanwhile, Spyro was taking some things with his levitation magic at the supermarket, seen by many other creatures around him. Sparx realized he was gaining attention, so he warned Spyro from it.

"Hey, dude, you're using the magic as if this is a magic show," said Sparx near Spyro's ear.

"I can't use my front legs to grab things, bro," replied Spyro. "That's why I study levitation to ease up things."

"Yeah, I know the reason, but you're drawing too much attention. Aren't we suppose to keep low-profiling?"

"Relax, man, we're in a realm far from Dragon Realm. The news may had come some days or after, right?"

"No, there's a portal leading to Warfang."

"Don't worry, I know dragons from the Dragon Realm, so the gossip may or may not be out yet. Relax, okay, we're not runaway."

"I guess you're right. You're gaining attention since you're the one having those purple scales and golden horns. You're like a full-load of precious metals. Golden...amethyst..."

"Dude, amethyst is a rock!"

"Yeah, right."

"And...it's my eye color, not my scales."

Sparx couldn't reply, but then he knew they were shopping. Spyro knew Seraphor could be disappointed because they didn't buy him a chunk of meat, but they almost became surprised when they saw Seraphor went inside the supermarket, gaining more attention because of his 'devastated' look.

"Shit, man...this is like a major freak show inside the supermarket," murmured Sparx.

"You two...are you buying some foods?"

"Yeah, we're just finished. Oh, sorry, Seraphor...but I couldn't afford the meat."

"I can eat other cheaper one...but only if they got any meat inside. Do you have any?"

"Well...hamburgers might do...but they had bread."

"It's okay," said Seraphor with a smile. "I sometimes ate bread."

After having his part filled, Seraphor and Spyro ran back to the motel where Flame was waiting while sleeping. Since they didn't have a rush, Seraphor then fell over his legs and ate the burgers, while Spyro asked, "Hey, aren't we supposed to save Amber? She could be dead by now if we never intervene."

"If dragons took captives, they would never harm them and instead trying to communicate with them, attempting to give the captive the main reasons. This only hold true to dragons unable to speak common language like I do. Most were dead by the hand of the dragonslayers, mainly because of miscommunication."

"Oh...but you..."

"I don't want to get any praise, but in my world, I was called the Dragonslayer's Slayer...mainly because I could outwit them, resulting in their tragic death. Oh...and, of course, I shared this with my friends."

"But...that's the case of human captives, right? How about a dragoness' captive?"

Seraphor then recalled on how a small dragoness was held as a ransom by a rouge dragon, only to be easily killed by one of the Order's member. He then said, "Looks like you're very concerned on her safety. Do you love her the way it is?"

Spyro became silent for a moment, and the room was only taken by Flame's snoring. After that, he slowly said, "I...don't want that fire red dragon to suffer the same fate as mine. Maybe it's time to tell you..."

"Save your breath. Artigan told me everything about your past with Cynder," interrupted Seraphor. "It's not that I'm not feeling sorry or carefree, but you and I...have a similar occurrence."

"Similar occurrence?"

"The truth is...I...had a mate. Her name was Avila. Truth is, we were enemies before we even mated. She was responsible on killing my entire race, the only known silver red dragon living at the Main Continent. When I asked why she did that, she just only said she did it fully under the control of a black magic, and so I realized...she was also rejected by her own race. The pain I got finally became sympathy, and we decided to forget our past.

"I found the reason why she was abandoned. Much like me, she was a four elements hybrid dragon. But...unlike me, she got it from a failed sacrifice. While I got it from a birth curse, she got her abnormality when she was offered as a virgin sacrifice in order to save her race. Normally, she would die, but instead, a powerful black magic invaded her soul and enabling her to use four darkness type elements, in the expense of her fire and her eyes."

"Eyes?"

"Avila's eyes were normally dark blue with the slit barely visible as she said to me, but the black magic turned them into bright yellow."

"Wait...that's normal. Dragons had bright yellow eyes as default. As for me, it's another occasion. As for Cynder..."

"Maybe something happened to her when she was cursed by the dark lord, so her eyes became emerald."

"Yeah."

"Anyway, what I wanna tell you is...maybe we have a lot in common."

"We're almost the same dragon, right?"

"More like...we're the same dragon from different dimensions."

At first, Spyro was silent, but then, he gasped, but could hold his temper as if he had known it all along.

"Oh ancestors...you're my parallel?!"

"Parallel?"

"Same individuals living in a different dimension."

After Seraphor said "Oh..." Spyro took a deep breath and said, "B...but, how?! I...I always wanted to see my own parallel, but this is a coincidence! Are you trying to lie to me?!"

"No, do I? I'm not that kind of dragon."

"Oh...right. You're the opposite of me. Parallels always have opposite traits and bodies, although some aspects are the same."

"Maybe. Your past, your girlfriend, your power are all the same to me. Okay. I'll take watch while you..."

"Dude, this is not the forest and we're not in war! How do you want to take watch? Just go to sleep with us."

"Yeah...I think you're right."

When they went to sleep, Seraphor kept thinking on Avila, and of course despite the fact that they wouldn't be seeing each other again for some times, he believed the Argoon dragon survived and was currently living on the other world with her own parallel. Maybe, the 'Cynder' was her parallel and they lived happy on another place. But, at the same time he was also thinking about the red dragon and the history of the elemental orb. If the orb is really dangerous, Spyro could meet the same fate with the dragons in the pictures. Not because he gulped only one fourth of the real amount could stop the effect, but elements were not things to be ponder on. He wished that Spyro wouldn't explode because of the orb, and he wanted to cure the small purple dragon, so he could enjoy life more.

The next morning, Seraphor was awakened by Spyro, telling him if he was ready. Seraphor only yawned and said, "Why the rush?"

"We really need to save Ember from Red," said Flame. "We gotta find more information regarding Red and his whereabouts."

"We should be able to find some things around here...oh, yeah!"

"What?" said Seraphor and Flame at the same time.

"Moneybag...he is opening a store here!"

"That money-loving loser? Why do you want to find him?"

"Flame, do you remember on how he was always bribed by the Rhynocs to guard some places when that egg incident happened? He may have some info about the one regarding this."

"Yeah, but he's not even in Dragon Realm when this happens," replied Flame. "When did that bear got any bribe?"

"I don't know, but maybe if we can try?"

"I suggest against it," said Seraphor. "Bribing is not a good thing, and he may give false information. You two don't believe him, right?"

"But he's the only source..."

"Spyro, you want to lost you precious money for nothing or just listen to my suggestion?"

Spyro knew trusting Moneybag wasn't the best deal, especially when it came to money and the fact that he only gave information whenever he was involved into a thing. Then, this one wasn't very big to even concern other realms like the egg incident or the gnorc incident.

"Okay, then tell me. What is your suggestion?" said Spyro.

"I want you to ask the mole where the laboratory is, so we can find something in there that lead to them. Or...maybe them."

"Lab? B...but, maybe it's in disrepair and abandoned! We can't find something partially underground that easy."

"How do you know it's partially underground?"

"What do you expect? Full of metal, no windows, dome room, and ventilation."

"Yeah, genius, now that won't help," said Flame.

"Oh, you just shut the fuck..."

"Okay, okay! We'll gonna need Sparx."

"Eh, why me?" said Sparx out of wonder.

"You're the only one who can go through the portal and back without any problems. We need Spyro if a fight broke."

"O...kay, but, I can't fly as fast as..."

"You flew with him all the time. That concerned you?" said Seraphor with a stare. "You flew pretty fast to be able to follow my electric step."

"I...I am hooked with Spyro man, so if I fly myself I'll..."

"Is there any pigeon?"

"Dude, I know that medieval kind of messaging, but I know something better."

"Better?"

"Here."

There's a piece of paper he gave to me when we part," said Sparx giving them a piece of paper. "I asked him to put it securely on my tiny dragonfly body, and using my magic, I can make it small enough for me to carry."

"Sparx, that's brilliant!" exclaimed Spyro in excitement. "What does it says?"

"It's a map."

"A map?"

"Map of... 'Capital Realm'."

"This city's?"

"Wait...the date...it's around 30 years ago! It's clearly different from the condition now!" said Flame when he saw the date. "How are we supposed to find it?"

Seraphor then leaned forward so he could see, and then he put one of his claws over a position where he seemingly remembered on something. The silver red then said, "Wait, I think I saw the name before."

"The name?" asked Spyro. "You're pointing at the dot?"

"The name is familiar...I saw it when we first arrived."

"Uh...okay...how about if we go there?"

When they went out, Flame was a little embarrassed since they were the only dragons there walking with four, the rest were using their back legs. But, there wasn't any time to be embarrassed. They found the name Seraphor saw, and from there, they could pinpoint the position to the derelict lab.

"The lab is in the forest," said Spyro. "Let's go, then."
