#13 of Evens and Dante's Adventure in Unova

Trying to juggle school, working on my game, and trying to get these stories thought up is a lot more difficult than I had thought, I try to make time for one and take time away from another. But that is the woes of life now on to the story!!

Two Sides of a Coin

"The challengers are the winners!" the audience erupted in applause even Burg was clapping. Goth-Li turned around and leap into Dante's arms almost knocking him down with her added weight. Zoroark got close to Evens who rubbed her head affectionately, "good job Zoroark." Zoroark had turn bright red at that comment and gave Evens a playful shove, "of course who do you think I am?" Evens smiled and turned his attention to Burg as he was crossing the field. Dante stood next to Evens as Burg came to a stop in front of them and presented them with their new badges. Both took them and placed them in the badge case. Burg turned to the audience then, "everyone another round of applause for these two challengers." The gym was in another uproar of applause as Evens and Dante left the gym.

Back at the Pokémon center Dante left his Pokémon with Evens as he shut himself in his room with Goth-Li with a 'Do Not Disturb' sign hanging from the door. Evens left the center before he was blamed for the loud moans and screams coming from Dante's room. The center was almost across the street from the pier, Evens walked down the pier until he saw a familiar face. "Red what's up." Red was watching the ships dock when he heard someone call out to him. He looked around until he saw Evens, smiling he waved him over. "How've you been Evens?" "Good I just won my next badge." "That's nice, how're the Pokémon eggs?" "Good Dante's hatched and there were no problems." "That's a relief." Red began to watch the sea again, Evens joined him. Some time passed before red talked again, "this city reminds me some much of New York." Evens turned to him confused, "how do you know what New York looks like?" Red laughed, "I lived there for a little bit before I died." That last comment hit Evens hard, "what do you mean dead?" Red turned and rested his back against the railing, "a few years back when I lived in New York I was climbing our fire escape when I slipped and fell seven stories." Red looked up to the sky, "the weird thing was instead of hitting the ground I kept falling, falling further and further into the darkness." Red looked at Evens, "you've had dreams about it to right, the eyes that glow in the darkness." Evens looked down and remembered the dream, "the only thing that I could think of would be Giratina." "Giratina the ruler of distortion world." "Does that mean that I'm dead to?" "Yes and no, you are dead in the other world but here you are very much alive." Evens was still confused at the new information that was just given to him. Red patted Evens on the shoulder, "there is an old tale about a young man, a sword, and Pokémon." Red and Evens sat down in the nearby bench.

"The story goes that a young man was found a sword one day and with it he began to slay every Pokémon that he could find, some he would eat the rest would be left to rot. It wasn't until he woke up one day and found no Pokémon; confused the young man set out to locate the missing Pokémon. He traveled far and wide until he came upon one, and he asked it why there were no more Pokémon. The Pokémon replied that all of the other Pokémon were readying themselves for when the young man would show up again so that they could defend themselves from him and any other human that might wish to bring harm upon them. After hearing this, the young man had learned the price of it meant to wield that sword, so he threw it to the ground breaking it and cried out asking for forgiveness. The Pokémon disappeared and from his decision this world was created. A world where Pokémon and human can live together, but the other world the one that we used to live in is the world if the young man had kept the sword and continued on his path."

Evens sat there and listened to Red, "so all of the animals that we see in the other world are just Pokémon that have devolved from being treated like animal for so long." At the end Evens just sat back and stared at the sky processing everything he just heard. Red sat back and stared at the sky with Evens. "Red if this world is the opposite of our world then would we be able to find ourselves here?" "No, the people are completely different; trust me after traveling around most of the known regions I would have expected to run into this world's version of myself but that is not the case." Before Evens could ask another question, "And no I don't know why we are here, or why Giratina chose us in the first place." Evens continued to look at the sky, "I wonder how I died?" Red got up, "who knows, but I would take this chance as a way to live how you want to live." Red waved goodbye and walked into the city. Evens sat on the bench thinking about the family members he had home and how they might react to him being dead over there.

Zoroark was sitting in the room wondering what was taking Evens so long. Luxray saw this and decided to tease Zoroark, "Just like a housewife worrying where her husband is." Zoroark snapped at Luxray, "I'm not worried it's just that we don't know the layout of the city, he could be lost that's all." Luxray laughed, "If you're so worried then why don't you go look for him?" Zoroark go up angrily, "I'm going to see if he's lost that's all." Zoroark left slamming the door. Dewott woke up, "who's slamming the doors?" Luxray settled herself down, "just a worried housewife that's all." Dewott not knowing what that meant went back to sleep.

Zoroark had disguised herself as a human female when she exited the center. Looking around a little she spotted Evens sitting on the bench at the pier. She walked toward him but stopped when she saw that he was deep in thought. She slowly walked up to Evens sitting beside him on the bench which he didn't notice until she tapped him. Zoroark's tapping broke Evens concentration, "Evens is everything alright?" sitting up Evens gave a fake smile, "yeah just figuring out where to go next." Seeing the fake smile worried Zoroark but she didn't press the issue. Evens got up and offered his hand to Zoroark, "Come on lets head back." Zoroark took his hand and the two went back to the center.

The noises from Dante's room stopped. Dante saw Evens, "yo dude we gotta leave before room service sees what we did to that bed." Laughing Evens agreed, "Yeah it was about time for us to head out anyway." Dante already had his stuff packed and helped Evens pack his; the two left the center within the hour. Back out on the street Evens pulled up the map, "ok so the next town that we can go to is Nimbasa city, think of it like Vegas." Dante smiled widely, "hope they got the same motto." Both laughed and headed for the gate that led to the next city.

The route leading to the next city was a perpetual sand storm. Evens and Dante put on the sand goggles' that they bought before entering the route. Golett was unimpeded by the sand so he acted as there guide. A few hours into the route the egg on Evens back started to glow. Evens and Dante took shelter by a nearby rock. Golett stood in front of Evens in case the worst happened. As the egg hatched an Eevee came into view, "please help me."

And so ends another chapter. That tale that Red told was a Vielstone myth, which can be found in a variety of places, I just decided to alter it a little. And what is up with the new development, two new Pokémon!? Well until next time.
