So many questions are running through my head right now. For the longest time I thought I was normal, but this summer vacation changed everything I thought to be true. It was mid July when it happened, I woke up with this extreme back pain as if my skin was boiling and falling off. I opened my mouth to scream only to find out that I couldn't all I could do was curl up in a ball as the transformation took it's course. When all was finished and the pain finally stopped I got up only to find out I had changed. I knew right away what I was when I was able to see my furry nose and my paws covered in white fur, I had become a furry. I ran to my bathroom that was connected to my room and turned on the light blinding myself for a bit before I was able to reopen my eyes and in the mirror looking back at me was my reflection a furry snow leopard as plain as day. I panicked and took off into the woods that surrounded the back side of the house and ran till I could not run anymore. I came across Clear Lake and stopped to catch my breath and try to get a hold on the situation.

"Ok so I am a furry." I told myself out loud as I paced in front of the lake, "But how could this be? You would think that I would have shown signs earlier on right?"

I played many scenarios in my head pacing in front of the lake till sunrise and that's when I figured out the most realistic reason for what has happened.

"It has to be my birth mom." I told myself sitting on a boulder a few feet away from the lake, "She must have been a furry in hiding."

My birth mom died in the house fire years ago when I was a baby, so I never really got to know her.

"Did dad know about her secret?" I asked myself, "And when he finds out that I am a furry what will he do? Will he turn me in to become a slave like all the other furs or will he try to help me control it?

I sat there for a few more hours weighing my options before deciding that I have to hide who I really am. Every fur has the ability to look human it will just take a lot of practice and concentration. I spent the rest of that day mastering the ability to hide my true form and after many failed attempts I finally got it down. I waited another few hours before returning home so I could make sure I was able to hold the form. When I got home my dad and step mom were both pacing the floors trying to figure out where I went. I covered up the truth by telling them I just went for a walk in the woods, which isn't unusual for me I do it often so they bought it. They just told me next time I do that not to leave without letting one of them know I was going to be gone all day. That was day one and I tried myself to be able to keep my human form for a long period of time. Now it is August and my worst fear along with the biggest test starts tomorrow, school and to make matters worst it is the first day of high school at that. I toss the baseball I have in my paws up in the air and catch it again as it comes back down, I am in my furry form to give my body a break from being human. After the first dozen of times I changed it finally stopped hurting so much to change between human and furry form, and I was getting a lot quicker at it too. My ears twitched as I heard the outside door open and I changed into my human form just in time as my dad turned the corner to where I am. One advantage of being a furry in the super keen senses that came with it, so I was always warned when someone was coming my direction and was able to change back in time. There have been a lot of close calls but I have kept it hidden well....
