Heat 8

Captain Richard Jenson yawned and stretched as he woke up, sighing happily as he did so. He ran his fingers through his short brown hair as he looked around his hotel room. Clothes were strewn everywhere, the chair next to the small desk was overturned. The hotel keycard was on the floor just beside the chair, where it had fell after they entered the room.

The human grinned to himself, it had been a great night. In fact the best night in a long time. The last few days on Lapros had been amazing. Seeing this new world, so vibrant and full of friendly and welcoming aliens, had been the highlight of the year. The best part being, last night, when they had finally just let go of their inhibitions and went for each other.

Richard stretched and moaned softly as a gentle pain in his rear reminded him of the night's activities. As if he could forget, he'd never taken an alien lover before. However, now all he wanted was to feel his lover in his arms again. He could hear the shower in the tiny bathroom and knew where his lover had gone. He lay back in the bed eyes fixed on the bathroom door just waiting. The bed was warm and comfortable, the sheets felt good against his skin and he was in no hurry to leave it.

After a few minutes, just as sleep began to creep back into the human's eyes, the bathroom door opened. A dark grey wolf entered scrubbing his chest with a towel. It was Captain Tyler Ray, the two had bonded over his tour of the Alexandria. They had spent some time together exploring the planet, during shore leave. In two days they had grown very close.

"Morning, handsome." Richard said as the wolf continued to scrub his fur dry. "What are your plans for today?"

The wolf sighed slightly. "I'm shipping out today, the Jarrow has some escort duty."

"When will you be back?" The human asked, unable to keep the disappointment from his voice.

"We're due back the week after next." The wolf said dropping the towel and crawling up the bed to kiss the human. "I'm sure you could convince me to take some more shore leave then."

Richard moaned softly enjoying the warmth of the wolf's lips against him. The he groaned in realisation. "The Alexandria ships out after the polar summit. We are heading back to Republic space." The human was strangely gratified to hear a soft whine from the wolf. They may be apart, but at least they wanted to be together.

Richard pulled the wolf down into his arms hugging the slightly damp lupine. As the wolf returned the embrace an idea sprang to his mind. "Admiral Harris is planning a goodwill tour of the alliance next month. I bet I could convince him to use the Alexandria."

Tyler's ears perked up. "Really? Wait what do you mean by convince him?" The wolf asked a little too quickly.

"Relax, I just meant if I buy a bottle of malt honey whiskey I could bribe him. I'd never do anything like that to get a posting.... Well maybe if it got me a posting to the Jarrow." The human chuckled and had to admit to himself, it had felt good to see the slightly jealous look on the wolf's face.

"If you get the Alexandria into the Republic I'll make sure you never regret to loss of a bottle of honey whiskey." The wolf said and then kissed him again, this time holding the kiss for a good few seconds. Wolf paws running over his naked chest, paw pads brushing over his nipples sending tiny bolts of pleasure through his body. The human felt something lower down begin to stir, he returned the kiss with growing passion, his body begging for a repeat of the previous night.

The wolf pulled away reluctantly, "Sorry, my sweet, I need to get ready I need to be at the spaceport in an hour."

Richard gave a good natured groan, and the rolled over in the bed to get a better view of the wolf as he bent down and picked up his dress pants. He scowled a little as the wolf pulled on his pants, covering his dark grey ass and his creamy sheath with furry sack.

The wolf grabbed his dress shirt and stood over by Richard as he began to fasten the buttons. Seeing an opportunity the human lunged quickly, deft fingers undoing the wolf's fly. Tyler moaned softly as a warm human hand cradled his furry orbs, another stroking his sheath. "I told you I have to go." He said he voice turning to a slight whine.

"Oh I'm not stopping you, I'm just enjoying these beautiful objects while I still can." Richard said with an innocent smile, his fingers squeezing the wolf's sheath. He could feel the sheath growing firm in his fingers.

The wolf mock growled and then continued fastening his shirt replying. "Very well, but I'm going to be gone in two minutes."

"Sure you are, I won't stop you." Richard replied his eyes spotting the wolf's pink tip starting to peak out of his sheath. He leaned closer and ran his tongue over the cocktip. Savouring the deep musky flavour, he ran his tongue under the sheath getting a much strong dose of the bitter musk.

Tyler whined deeply. "T...that's not fair... I have to gOO!" He howled softly as the human put his lips around his now half erect cock and began to suckle firmly. He looked down whining softly. "I'll be late."

Richard didn't look up or respond, he ran his tongue over the expanding wolf cock in his maw. His hand still cradling and caressing the wolf's furry nuts, making them churn, they ached with need for release

"Oh....this really is cheating." The wolf moaned his clothes forgotten as his paws began to caress the human's head, stroking his hair.

Richard pressed his mouth down the wolf's cock taking as much of the warm, and now fully erect, meat into his mouth as he could. Then pulled back very slowly, letting the wolf feel every millimetre as it slip out of his tight lips. He kissed the cocktip as it left his mouth and looked up at the moaning wolf. "All's fair in love and war."

Richard dove back onto the wolf cock sucking if firmly, bobbing his head on the hot length. As a fellow captain he had some sympathy for the wolf. He knew he would have to be quick, but damn it he wanted one more romp. He tactfully pulled the sheets down, exposing his own erect and needy shaft.

Tyler caught the moment of the sheets from the corner of his eye and was more than capable of taking a hint. He knelt on the bed and making sure not to pull his cock from between the human's lips he moved his leg over the human. He knelt legs astride the human's head, cock pointed down into the human's mouth. The wolf leaned over Richard's body running his lupine tongue over the human's shaft.

The wolf had to admit he rather enjoyed the light clean taste of the human's cock. He placed his lips around the human's cock sucking warmly and then thrusting his muzzle down taking the human's full length into him. Richard moaned deeply squirming under him as the human did his best to service the wolf cock.

Tyler decided that if the human was going to make him late, the wolf should at least get to control the fun. He began to thrust his hips down, his thick member forcing its way deep into the human's mouth until he could feel the human squirm. As he did so he continued to suck lick and bob along the human meat in his muzzle. He was careful to make sure his sharp teeth were covered by his gums.

Richard gagged a little around the thrusting wolf cock. He suddenly realised the tactical error he had made. The wolf was on top and in control, and unlike the wolf he couldn't fit his partner's full cock into his mouth. Still the wolf seemed to be tempering his lust and he could feel the wolf's knot beginning to form, bumping against his lips as it thrust in.

The human had gotten to feel that knot inside him last night. His body tingled at the pleasant memories of a night with a talented lover. He closed his eyes letting the wolf do as he wished, finding that he actually enjoyed the thought of the wolf using his mouth. His own cock was deeply enjoying the wolf's attentions, the long dextrous tongue and the deep warm maw were wonderfully stimulating.

The human moaned deeply around Tyler's cock as the wolf thrust faster and faster. His knot fully formed bumming against the human's lips. The wolf was embarrassed he was so close, already. How could this furless mate bring him to the peak of pleasure so quickly. All the human needed to do was grab his knot and it would be over, a lupine lover would have done so already.

As the wolf mated his mouth with growing speed, the human could not believe how close he was. He could feel his balls rising. His mouth was being used and he loved it. His tongue and mouth was coated in thick musky wolf pre and he loved that too. The heavy musky fluid was divine, he swallowed greedily desperate for more. The wolf's knot kept smacking into his lips and nose, rubbing the wolf's dominant musk all over his face.

Tyler groaned deeply, his balls were churning heavily desperate for release. It was so delightfully maddening the human was denying him release. He thrust into the human's mouth faster and faster, mating the human's face as fast as he dared. Even without stimulation to his knot he wasn't going to last much longer.

Richard moaned deeply, as the cock in his mouth began to thrust faster. The sensations around his cock, combined with his own growing arousal. He passed the point of no return and with a desperate groan the human reached his orgasm. His cock erupted in the wolf's mouth spraying a few jets of warm, thick fluid onto the welcoming wolf tongue.

Feeling the warmth on his tongue, the wolf swallowed instinctively still bobbing and sucking for more. He was unable to savour the taste or sensation as the feelings around his own shaft began to overwhelm him. He pulled off the human's cock and gasped loudly his body shaking. His cock began to empty into the human's willing mouth.

The sudden flooding of his mouth brought the human out of his post orgasm bliss. Tyler continued to spray seed thrust after thrust. Richard tried to swallow it, but it filled his mouth too quickly and he gagged a river of cum pouring out of both corners of his mouth. He felt the warm fluid running down his neck and onto his shoulders.

After a few seconds the flood slowed to a trickle, a few drops and eventually stopped. The human swallowed what was left his cheeks, neck and shoulders glistened in the morning sun as the wolf seed began to dry. The wolf pulled his cock out of the human's mouth and rolled over onto the bed panting heavily. "I... am going to be late."

Richard chuckled softly, swallowing again his mouth still tasting of heavily musky wolf cock. "I'm pretty sure the Jarrow isn't going anywhere without their captain."

"True," the wolf replied as he rolled off the bed pulling his deflating cock back into his pants. "However, as the captain I'm supposed to set the standard for the rest of my men."

Richard reached up to his cheek coating his fingers in half dried wolf spunk. He winked at the wolf, "you have set the standard, the very highest."

Tyler blushed deeply as he found his cap and put it on. "How do I look?"

"Hot enough that I'd suggest we both go AWOL and see if we can set a whole new standard." The human replied as he licked his fingers clean slowly and deliberately.

"I never elope on the very first date." The wolf replied grabbing his bag and shoving his remaining clothes into his bag. Not noticing that he had also grabbed Richard's used underwear. "That's more a fourth or fifth date kind of thing."

"So first date unbelievably good sex, fourth date we elope. I can't wait to see what you have in store for dates two and three." The human said dryly as he stretched out in the bed placing his hands behind his head.

"Well I don't want to spoil the surprise but the second date involves a ritual hunt and a blood sacrifice." The wolf said with a chuckle scanning the room once more for any belongings.

"Oh! Romantic, what about the third?"

"Oh, just a nice meal and a walk on the beach. You know, to slow things down before we elope." The wolf replied with a chuckle and a wink reluctantly taking a few steps towards the door. "I... I hope that you get the assignment to the Alliance. So we can have the second, third, forth and many more dates."

Rolling onto his side, Richard smiled at the wolf. "I'll make it happen, whatever it takes." Tyler nodded at him in return and then left. Richard lay there for a few moments just breathing happily. His skin was starting to feel a bit tacky where the cum had dried on it. He knew he should probably get cleaned up. He closed his eyes instead choosing to spend a few more minutes in the warm comfortable bed he had grown so fond of.

"Got a customer asking to see you."

Benny looked up from his chopping board where he was finely slicing some polar root vegetables. "We're not even open yet. Can't they just make a reservation with you?" The restaurant was doing very good business, the publicity of the other day had only helped. They were now booked solid for the next three weeks and they had received more than a couple of people walking into the restaurant. Hoping that by turning up in person they could get a booking on short notice. Of course the soft hearted Benny had done his best, especially when it came to some of his old regulars.

"I don't want a reservation. I just wanted to talk." Said a familiar voice, Tina jumped and turned to find Eric had snuck into the kitchen behind her.

"Ah, well in that case. You can wash these while we talk." Benny said grabbing a bowl of lapine rocket leaves. "I'm shorthanded with Martin on leave. The sooner my new chefs start the better."

Eric stared at the bowl in his paws like it was some sort of alien creature. "I'm not a chef and even if I was I don't do salad."

"I'm not asking you to do anything, but put it in the sink fill it with water and pull the leaves out one by one." The bear said his paw moving furiously fast each motion making a satisfying thud as he quickly sliced up the vegetables. "I'm sure that even you can't mess that up. Now what's on your mind?"

"I need your help to send a letter." The wolf said as he filled the salad bowl at the sink.

The bear paused in his chopping and looked at the wolf slightly confused. "If you can't manage the comm system I may have overestimated you skill levels. All of a sudden I'm not sure I trust you with my rocket leaves."

Pulling a few leaves out of the bowl with theatrical care, the wolf gave a good natured chuckle. "I don't have the recipient's details and they are not listed on the directory."

"Ahh," Benny took a slow breath. "Look, I don't want to be the one to say this to you. I know you two had a good night." The bear took a few steps towards the wolf as he talked, placing a reassuring paw on his shoulder. "Martin's moved on, he's got someone new. I'm sorry."

It was Eric's turn to look confused. "Why are you sorry?"

Benny shook his head sadly. "I'm not giving you his contact details. You had your chance and you blew it. You should move on, plenty more bunnies on lapros."

The wolf couldn't help but smirk, "Martin hooked up with someone already? Good for him, guess I was a much needed slump buster." He chuckled at the bear's embarrassed confusion. "Look we had what we had then it was over. He was nice and fun, but we agreed before it was a one night deal. I need you to help me get a letter to a human."

"Which human?" Benny asked returning to his chopping.

The wolf went silent for a moment, suddenly deeply focused on washing the vegetables. "He's called Jamie McBride." He almost whispered the name.

The bear stopped in his chopping, "would that be any relation to Phil McBride?"

Eric didn't move he kept his gaze on the rocket leaves pulling them out one by one. "His son... he was one of the lucky ones. His class was on a visit to a mining camp near the colony when the Dragos attacked."

"So, I'm guessing this isn't just a case of find his contact details?" The bear asked carefully, his eyes fixed on the wolf's back.

"No, he's off directory as a minor. He's just sixteen." Eric had stopped washing the rocket and just stood looking into the bowl of water.

"You are aware that to get his contact details would be a breach of every privacy law on Lapros and the Republic?" It wasn't really a question they both were well aware of the answer.

"My therapist thinks I need to contact him. To get closure on the Rydel incident." The wolf explained his voice quiet with more than a hint of whine.

"Your therapist does, or you do?" the question was pointed and asked with a razor edge to it.

"I... you can't understand, you don't know what it's like. Sitting by doing nothing while... good people die." Eric said turning and making a rush for the back door. Benny was faster than he was, getting a firm paw on the door and holding it shut with ease despite the wolf's best efforts.

He put a paw on the wolf's shoulder and Eric turned to face him. The bear's eyes held the glassy quality of someone near tears. "Believe me, I know and I understand."

Looking into his eyes the wolf could see some of the pain and hurt he saw every day reflected in the mirror. "I just want to tell the boy... that I'm sorry. That I would give anything to undo what was done."

The bear moved suddenly and Eric found himself squashed against a warm soft chest by two arms far two powerful to resist. He leant against the bear wanting to return the hug, however part of him wouldn't let him. Part of him still believed he wasn't worthy of this act of friendship.

After a minute the bear pulled back, "well we'd better get you his comm details then." He said simply, moving to the kitchens small comm unit.

"C...can you do it?" Eric asked watching over the bear's shoulder.

"Hack the security protocols find the unlisted Id on a person with just his name, age and a planet he used to live on?" The bear asked as his paws began to dance over the screen.

"If it's going to take you a while, you can do it another time. I can come b..."

The wolf didn't get to finish his sentence before Benny shouted. "Got it."

Eric stared open mouthed, "just like that? You weren't even at it one minute."

"Yes, I know. I must be losing my touch, it should have taken half the time." The bear said with a smug grin. "I worked as a communications expert for a long time. That's why you came to me right?"

"You're a loss to the profession," Eric replied with a smile. "Although, in all honesty I'm glad you quit. I feel much safer knowing you're in the kitchen not hacking your way through the comm net."

"Yes well, in all honesty I didn't really hack into anything. I used to work on the comm net I still know the admin access routes. It was a simple query to get his details." The bear replied as he returned to his chopping board and began chopping vegetables.

"Will they trace it to you?" the wolf asked as he stared at the computer screen.

"No, I know how they work they won't trace be it. It's one of a million queries they will get this week." The bear said touched at the wolf's concern. "They'll assume someone who knew him gave away the details and the comm companies will deny any breach of security. Then threaten legal action against anyone who says their security was breached."

"Right, that's good to know." Eric said quietly and the continued to stare at the computer screen.

After a minute the bear looked up and asked. "So are you going to send it then?"

"Yeah, I mean I think so." The wolf looked down at the ground and then over at the bear asking quietly. "Do you think I'm doing the right thing? I mean he's just a kid and he lost his entire family."

"I thought you needed this for closure." The bear replied as he slid the chopped vegetables into a large pan of boiling water.

"I... I do, but..." The wolf took a deep breath. "Now that it comes down to it, I'm... afraid to send it. I mean what if I stir up his hurt, just to make myself feel better? What kind of person does that to a kid?"

The bear paused in his cooking, "He might be looking for his own closure. A chance to forgive someone for what happened may help him too."

"There's no way to know that." Eric replied his voice strained as he fought back tears.

"No, there's no way to know what will happen unless you send it. The question is, now that you can send it, can you walk away?" Benny said moving to place a reassuring arm around the wolf.

After a few seconds of silence the bear added. "Of course, now you have his details, you can send it anytime you feel ready."

Eric sighed, "maybe, in a couple of years when he's an adult."

They stood there in silence for a minute or two before Benny took his arm from around the wolf. "Well, I really need to get a move on before we open."

The wolf jumped a little broken from whatever train of thought he had been riding. "Oh, of course. I'll leave you in peace. Thank you for trying to help me, I really do appreciate it." The wolf said with a sad smile.

"Anytime," Benny said as he took a ball of pastry dough out of the kitchen fridge. He paused for a moment shaking his head to an argument that was entirely in his own mind. He gave Eric a firm look "You need to forgive yourself, we can't change the past. Eventually you'll be able to move on and let the guilt go."

"I know, but it's so much easier to say than to do." Eric replied as he left the kitchen leaving the bear alone with his thoughts.

Benny stood alone for a moment staring at the door lost in thought. "It really is." He whispered to himself then turned and began to roll the pastry.

The wolf dashed out of the restaurant nodding at Tina as he passed. He felt better, at least he had the contact details he required. Now he just needed to wait, the more he thought of it the more he decided to send his letter would have been selfish. Just a couple of years he promised himself then he'd send it. Let the boy know how sorry he was for what happened, when he had grown into a man who could deal with things. The man he was hoping to become again.

As he walked the streets lost in thought he heard a buzzing and realised his comm device was ringing. A quick check showed it was an incoming call from Roger, the rabbit he and John had saved a few days earlier. He accepted the call ducking into a nearby alley for some privacy.

"Hey there Roger", he said. He always felt self conscious talking on his comm in the street. The device on his wrist transmitted the incoming call to his ear only and would pick up his voice only. To everyone passing there was no way to tell if he was either on a call or just a mad man talking to himself.

"Hey Eric, it's scheduled for the day after tomorrow" The rabbit's voice was slightly curt and held no small measure of distaste.

"So soon?" Eric asked in surprise.

"I think it's best to do it outside of racing season." The rabbit replied his voice definitely strained. "It's probably a good thing for you. If I had a few months to think I'd probably back out."

"Hey you can if you want, but you owe me." The wolf reminded him quietly, ashamed of his own words.

"I know, I'm going through with it damn it. I'll send the address later." The rabbit didn't wait for a reply he just hung up.

"Captain on deck!"

Richard gave his bridge crew a snappy salute with his empty hand as he left the lift. "At ease everyone. I'm just here to observe the battle drills, I don't want to interfere this is Commander Rollin's show." He gave a nod to his second in command. She gave him a nod in reply and then quickly crossed the bridge to where Richard stood besides the captain's chair.

"Is everything ok Sir?" She asked quietly slight irritation showing through her voice.

"Yes, I actually just wanted to send a few messages and get this sent off." He waved a bottle shaped package at the short fiery redhead.

"A present?"

"A bribe, for Admiral Harris. Fine lapine whiskey single malt, aged in the cask seventy five years. It cost me a weeks pay." He informed her as he sat in his chair and flicked on his comm unit. Checking very quickly through the messages he had received. "How are the drills coming?"

"Good Sir, although they would be going a damn sight smoother if one fifth of the crew wasn't on shore leave." Rollin informed him as she eyed the bottle. "What do you need the bribe for?"

The captain gave a broad grin, "oh, there's an assignment I want for the Alexandria. It would mean a good tour in friendly territory. Get more than a fifth of the crew some much needed shore leave." He left out the fact he was hoping to hook up with the sexy wolf he had met. Rollin would only disapprove of his abuse of the system.

The look she gave told him she disapproved anyway, she opened her mouth to say something. However, she was cut off by the communications officer suddenly shouting out. "Captain, we're getting a distress call!"

Their conversation was instantly forgotten as the two command officers replied in unison. "On screen."

"Audio only Sir." The communications officer as he hit the transmit button.

"Message repeats. This is the Alliance cruiser Jarrow, to any Alliance ships, we are under attack by a Dragos battleship. They knocked us out of hyperdrive with subspace mines. We are escorting a troop convoy, ten thousand soldiers. We are engaging the enemy trying to buy time for the troop ships to escape. We need assistance. Message repeats." The communications officer switched the message off.

The bridge crew were silent for a moment before Rollin said, "It's an Alliance problem. Let's get back..."

"Commander Rollin when did you get promoted above me?" Richard cut across putting years of military training and leadership into his voice.

"I... I didn't Sir." She replied taken back by the sharpness of his tone.

"Then kindly do NOT presume to give me orders." He growled threateningly, the glanced at his scanner officer. "Are there any alliance ships in range?"

"The nearest Alliance military ship is the Remington, they are ten days away." Was the distressing answer.

"Helm what's our time to intercept?"

"Sir you can't be serious, we have no defence pact with the Alliance, not anymore!" Rollin half shouted across the bridge.

"If you question my orders again commander I will have you removed from the bridge is that clear?" Richard snarled at his second in command. "Ten thousand troops, could you live with yourself if you stood by and did nothing?"

Rollin stepped closer and whispered. "A battleship against a cruiser and a destroyer?"

Richard shrugged, "so we'd be outgunned, but two on one. We could out manoeuvre them easily catch them on the fly. Besides firing on us would be an act of war. I'm betting they don't want a war on two fronts."

"Sir, if we join this fight we'll be declaring war on the Empire." The desperation in his second in command's voice was apparent.

"Your objection is noted in my log." Richard informed her and then looked to his helmsman. "Set course and engage." He knew he should check with command, but it would take hours maybe days to get a response at this distance. What was worse the response would probably be to hold position.

He looked around at his bridge crew, this was his first command. After this it would probably be his last, still in six months his crew had never done any less than their best. He knew he owed them an explanation. He sat down in the command chair and flicked a switch allowing him to address the crew.

"This is Captain Jenson, we have just received a distress call from an Alliance cruiser under attack by an Imperial battleship. The cruiser is protecting a troop convoy. Ten thousand lives, and just one heavily outgunned ship protecting them. The Alexandria could go a long way to even the odds, but the odds are still against us." He paused in his speech considering his next words carefully. "The defence pact with the Alliance ended the day of the Rydel massacre. However, I recently met a former pilot from the fifth fleet. He could barely live with what he did."

He glanced over at his second in command to his surprise she gave him a nod of encouragement. "Ten thousand lives, I can not sit by while they are blown away. You know the Dragos, they have never shown mercy. I have entered into the record that I made this decision alone and that I accept full responsibility for any legal action. That is all, now prepare for battlestations."

He flicked the comm station off and glanced at the commander. "How did I do?"

She shrugged, "not exactly the most uplifting of military speeches."

"You'll be grateful for it at our court marshal." Richard replied with a laugh.

Dale was a little worried as he and Benny reached home. His fathers were out for the evening with old friends and had said they were unlikely to be home until the small hours of the morning. However, his bear had been quiet and distant throughout the evening as they had shared their traditional dessert together. Then as they had walked back he hadn't said a word, the two had walked in an uncomfortable silence.

As they got home the bear headed into the living room. This sent more alarm bells ringing in the rabbit's mind. They always went straight to bed when the got home.

The bear turned to face him, "Dale, there's something I have to tell you."

The rabbit gulped and let the bear guide him to the sofa. "Y..you can tell me anything sweety. I'll still love you."

The bear took a deep breath, "I truly hope so. I need to tell you about what happened during my military service. I said I would tell you when the time is right." He looked at his mate searching for the right words. "It was in my third year of service. Dillon and I were both part of our units recon squad. We were given a mission, dropped on a planet. They didn't give us many details just that there was some rebel activity on this planet and we were to meet up with a local source to gather intel."

The bear looked away suddenly unable to hold his mate's gaze. "The mission went smoothly, we met up with our contact on time. He passed some details to our sergeant. It seemed like such a dull assignment really. Our sergeant ordered me to relay the information to our ship and request a pickup. I followed his orders, I saw no reason not too."

"As the drop ship landed our sergeant turned his gun on our contact and before any of us knew what was going on he shot him. Point blank in the chest." Benny shuddered at the memory, the horror of the moment coming back to him. The sickening smell of burnt fur, the surprisingly soft thud as the body hit the flood. The strange sigh the body gave and the looks of shock and fear on his squad mates faces.

"It was a rebel polar colony, just a few hundred civilians, with few weapons. The information I had relayed was the location of their communications equipment. Our ship took that out with its first shot. Then it proceeded to blast the colony into ash. Maybe three hundred polar died. Males, females, the old and the young, all gone in a few minutes. Their crime? Wanting to abandon our ways, to live away from our religion. They were so few and they posed no threat to anyone. However, to our people they committed the worst of all sins, blasphemy." Benny looked back at his mate.

"I blamed myself for a long time for their deaths. I was the one who sent the transmission." He placed his paw on Dale's and slipped off the sofa kneeling in front of him. "It wasn't my fault, I accept that now. However, I wanted you to know. That is my last secret. Everything you didn't know about me that you need to know."

Dale leaned forward and placed a kiss against his bear's lips. "Thank you for letting me know who you are. It's not your fault, I know how much pain that memory would have caused you."

Benny smiled, "I don't feel the pain anymore now that I'm with you. There's just one thing I need to know."

"Ask me anything my love." Dale replied with a sweet smile.

The bear smiled holding up a paw which held a small open box, a thin band of gold gleamed. "Will you marry me?"

The rabbit stared open mouthed at his bear unable to form any words. "I...I...." He could see the bear growing worried and his concern for his mate finally gave him the control he needed to say. "Yes...of course I will!"

The bear's face broke into a grin of pure delight. "You will?"

Dale threw himself at his bear, his arms wrapping tightly around Benny's neck as he kissed the bear deeply. Their lips danced passionately for a moment before the rabbit pulled back. "I love you." He whispered to his bear.

"I love you too, with all my heart." The bear replied his face a mask of pure joy. He pulled the betrothal bracelet out of the box and fumbled with the clasp for a moment before slipping it over the rabbit's paw. "There."

Dale held up his wrist inspecting the band. It was simple chain of gold, the links incredibly fine. It was simple and understated, but against his black fur it stood out perfectly. "It's perfect, you're perfect."

The bear blushed and kissed his fiancé tenderly suddenly scooping him up in his arms. He stood up as his tongue began to explore his mate's muzzle. He carried Dale upstairs, laying the rabbit down on their bed.

He continued to kiss his rabbit lover, as his paws unfastened the rabbit's shirt one button at a time. He slowly exposed Dale's chest and stomach, slipping his paws inside the shirt once it was fully unfastened. His large paws roamed over the rabbit's stomach and chest. His fingers finding the rabbit's erect nipples and gently teasing them, fingertips circling the fleshy nubs.

Dale moaned heavily against the bear's lips. His body tingled at his lover's touch, each rub of his nipples making the lapine squirm and moan. His own paws ran down the bears ample chest and stomach lifting his t-shirt, slowly tugging it up towards the bear's head.

Benny broke the kiss with a gasp, pulling off his shirt, as Dale discarded his. They both removed their pants as quickly as they could. The air becoming heavy with the scent of male musk and arousal. Benny looked at his mate laying on the bed, his bunny cock standing up tall, proud and so inviting. The bear dove onto the bed, his head slipping straight between his mate's thighs.

The bear took the full erect rabbit cock deep into his muzzle suckling firmly. His paws slipped under the rabbit, grasping his rear firmly and pressing the rabbit's crotch against his muzzle. Dale squeaked softly the rabbit's paws going down to caress the bear's head as he lay there helpless.

Benny suckled firmly his deft tongue working every inch of the meat him his muzzle. He savoured his mate's taste, the warm firmness of the cock in his muzzle. Slowly he pulled his lips off the bunny meat. He lapped up and down the hot length, then lower, his tongue bathing the rabbit's musky balls. He cleaned the daily sweat off the furry orbs, taking the furry sack very gently into his mouth. He suckled softly as his tongue lapped across both sweet nuts.

Dale could do nothing but lay there as his mate did as he please to his crotch. Not that he would have done anything to stop him, the sensations coming from his mate's ministrations were driving him to new heights of lust and arousal. He sighed softly as he felt his nutsack slipping free of the warm loving maw. Then he gasped as a strong, broad tongue lapped down his taint.

Two powerful paws lifted his rear as if he weighed nothing. The bear lapped down the rabbit's taint his nose snuffling between his buttocks. Dale squealed softly as he felt a moist powerful tongue lapping over his pucker. Pre flowed from his cock like never before a small river of his running down his throbbing meat.

The bear pressed his muzzle closer, sealing his lips against his mate's pucker. His tongue formed a point and then thrust forward, sliding easily inside his mate. Dale clawed at the bed sheets as he squirmed in the bear's paws. His gasps and squeals the most wonderful music to Benny's ears. He twisted and swirled his tongue inside the squirming lapine.

The bear savoured the taste of his mate, his tongue probing deeper inside the rabbit finding a sensitive nub he made the rabbit squeal again. He smiled to himself thrusting his tongue against the spot again and again. The bunny kicked, writhed and squealed, but there was nothing he could do against the bear's strength.

The pleasure coursing through his body was unstoppable. His cock was screaming at him to do something. He reached down to grab it and started to jerk his length hard and fast panting heavily as his orgasm approached. Benny sensed his mate's impending orgasm and pulled his tongue out of the rabbit's ass and then smacked Dale's paws away.

The bear stood up reaching over he grabbed a bottle of lube from their nightstand. He poured a generous quantity into his paw and then gasped slightly as he stroked it onto his thick drooling shaft. He reached down spreading the rabbit's thighs. He leant over placing a sweet kiss against the rabbit's lips, as his paw lifted the bunny rump up a little. He other paw guided his cock under the rabbit's furry nuts, rubbing down his taint.

Dale returned the kiss passionately, moaning as he felt the bear's cocktip grinding against his moist hole. The bear broke the kiss and looked into the rabbit's eyes smiling, "I love you so much." The bear whispered, before Dale could reply the bear thrust forward, his thick, slick cock overran his defences easily. He cried out in pleasure as the thick meat forced its way deep inside him.

The rabbit wrapped his legs around the bear's waist holding him close, pushing back wantonly against the thick length. He was still so close, he wanted to be taken, to be plundered and pounded until he was so exhausted he couldn't move. The bear didn't let him down, he began to thrust hard and faster, the bear's hips pounding into him heavy balls smacking into his ass.

Benny growled in pleasure and lust, loving the way his mate squirmed and clenched around his thrusting maleness. The look on his mate's face told the bear everything he needed to know. The rabbit was close and wanted the bear to take him over the edge roughly. He let go of his control, giving in to his natural instincts, mating him harder and faster reaming the rabbit's insides deep.

Dale squealed as the bear suddenly began to take him roughly, he closed his eyes basking in the sensations of the thick meat pounding his tight hole. He tired to clench and squeeze it, making the bear groan in pleasure. His cock was ablaze with need, as it soaked both his and the bear's fur with copious volumes of pre. The friction of bear fur on his cocktip was driving him closer to his release.

Benny moaned, the rabbit under him suddenly became incredibly tight as the rabbit squealed and moaned. His stomach was soaked with bunny juices as the rabbit rode his orgasm. The bear rutted faster and harder, closing his eyes and laying his head down on the rabbit's chest as he mated him with furiously desperate need.

He cried out as his body shook, his hips acting on their own continued to thrust as the bear began to pump large volumes of his spunk deep into his lover's tight rear. Dale moaned with delight as he felt the bear cum soothing his rear. He put his arms around his bear holding him tightly as the bear rode his rear to the end of his orgasm.

"Report!" Richard order less than a heartbeat after the Alexandria dropped out of hyperspace.

"Two ships dead ahead, one reads as the Alliance cruise Jarrow. The other is not transmitting an ID, however, it looks like a standard Dragos battleship. I have four troop transports about an hours sublight away." The scanner officer informed him.

"What's the status of the two vessels?" Richard asked as he switched on his tactical display getting a holo image of the battlefield.

"Scans show some damage to the cruiser, three of her guns have been destroyed. Otherwise looks intact, their engines scan as operating at one hundred percent." The scanner officer reported. "Minor damage to the battleship's hull, all systems scan as functional."

"Impressive an hour that heavily outgunned and only a little damage." Rollin muttered to herself.

Richard overheard her comment and replied, "He's using the cruisers greater speed and manoeuvrability to keep ahead. Still it's only a matter of time, a good hit on the engines and the fight will be over in short order." He explained then looked to his communications officer. "Hail the Jarrow."

The officer nodded and a few seconds later he heard Tyler's voice. Over the Comm channel. "Destroyer Alexandria, please state your intentions."

"Cruiser Jarrow, we are here to provide support. What is your status?" Richard replied, slightly hurt that Tyler would have to question his intentions.

"We've taken minor damage, but our engines are running hot. Your timing couldn't be better a few minutes more and we'd have been in real trouble."

"Hmm that battleship still outguns us two to one, you don't count that as real trouble?" The human asked as he signalled his helmsman to set course for the fight. "We're on our way eta three minutes, close channel." As he heard the comm channel shutting off he flicked on the internal comm. "Captain to all hands battlestations; charge all cannons, prepare all missiles for launch, secure all bulkheads and pray to whatever deity you believe in."

"Open hailing channel to the Dragos battleship." As he heard the comm channel click on he took a deep breath and offered up a silent prayer. "Unidentified Dragos vessel, this is the Republic destroyer Alexandria, you are engaged in an act of piracy, break off your attack and leave the area."

He waited for a reply, his comm officer shock his head. "You're facing a war on two fronts is that what you really want?"

"Reply received sir. Just one word "yes".

"Not the answer I was hoping for."

Benny slipped out of bed leaving his mate to his blissful slumber. He slipped downstairs as quietly as he could. Dale's fathers hadn't returned home and at three in the morning he finally had some time to himself. Dale wouldn't be wake up until morning.

The bear pulled out the tiny grey data disk Dillon had given him. Dale had asked about it once. Benny had told the rabbit he wasn't ready to watch it. He promised himself he would let Dale watch the message in the morning. His father had always been a private and reserved person, quiet and thoughtful. It felt right that his last message should be seen by him alone, at least at first.

He clicked the disk into place and selected to play the only file it contained. An image of his father flicked onto the screen. Only it wasn't the father he remembered, he looked thin, gaunt, frail and weak. Benny could see several bruises on the old bears face and chest. He was standing in what looked like an alley, Benny could see rubbish bins behind his father.

The old bear looked at into his eyes through the screen, just for a moment Benny could see his father as he used to be. Strong, yet gentle, proud and patient. "Benny, I don't know if you'll ever see this. Your friend promised to do his best to get it to you. I hope he succeeds. I probably don't have long so I'll have to keep this brief."

The old bear paused and sighed, "there is so much I want to tell you. So much I want to say. I wish I could have spoken to you one last time in person. I tried to get a comm message to you." The bear looked away from the screen. "I'm afraid this old bear couldn't break into the system. I suppose I should tell you the important things first before I run out of time though my ramblings."

"I am proud of you my son and I love you. Don't ever let anyone tell you different." The bear had a tear in his eye as he spoke. "I remember the day you were born, you were this tiny ball of fluff. The nurse handed you to me and I couldn't believe how beautiful and tiny you were. Our people force everyone into the military, four years to teach you your duty to protect. That moment was a thousand times more powerful than my years of service. From the moment I first saw you, I wanted to protect you from the evils of the world."

"I knew you were different, I could see it in your eyes. I never said anything to anyone, not even you. That's what our people have done to ourselves we teach our children to hate. We do it so well a father is afraid to talk to his son about who he is." The bear began to sob at this point. "I shouldn't have stayed quiet, I should have sat down with you and talked. I... I'm sorry about Chris, I know you loved him. I wish things could have been different for you, I wish I could have protected you better. I hope you have a good life..." The bear was interrupted by an off screen voice. Benny couldn't make out what was being said. The bear turned back to the camera. "My time is up, I have to go before we're found. Please remember you father loved you, always."

Benny felt a wave of home sickness wash over him. He thought about his father. He thought back to his first day at school, how terrified he'd been. How safe he'd felt huddled up in his father's arms. He sat there trembling feeling so alone, as the tears began to fall he jumped at the feeling of a paw on his shoulder.

Dale had snuck downstairs at some point, he'd not spoken a word. He didn't break his silence just sat down on the sofa and put his arms around the bear. Holding his love as Benny cried and for the first time began to grieve for the father he had lost.

"Shit!" Richard cursed as he was thrown from his chair by an impact. "Damage report!" He shouted as he got to his feet.

"Two hits midships, guns five and twelve are offline." Rollin shouted.

"Damn it, change course, prepare another volley. How many missiles do we have left?" Richard positively growled as he got back into his chair. The battle was going about as well as could be expected. They had scored a good deal of damage on the battleship. The destroyer had used its speed to run rings around the battleship keeping the enemy off balance while the cruiser had kept at the very edge of weapons range, peppering the larger ship with shots and drawing the ship further away from the troop ships.

Ten minutes and the troop ships would be far enough away, that the battleship wouldn't be able to reach them. Not before they finished repairs and they could all get the hell out of there.

"Three missiles left in the port tubes." Rollins reported.

"Helm plot a course, take us close as close to their port side as you can. Their port armour is already damaged and they've lost a couple of gun batteries. Let's make our last missiles count."

"Cannons report ready." Rollins advised.

"Hold fire until we are closer" Richard ordered, they'd only get a chance to launch a single cannon volley during this attack run and he wanted to time it with the missile launch.

As the ship dove towards the larger ship suddenly alarms started to scream as another ship dropped out of hyperspace.

"Dragos cruiser off the port bow!" The scanner officer screamed. "She's firing."

"Evasive...." Richard didn't get a chance to finish his command as the cruiser had jumped in to the fight at point blank range. The spear shaped destroyer took the full deadly volley. Cannon hits blasted along the hull, rupturing the armour, the main gun battery exploded. The engines took a heavy hit and spluttered to a stop.

Richard groaned as he opened his eyes, the first image he saw was his helmsman on his back lifeless a metal girder sticking out of his chest. "Damage report!" He screamed looking around to see if there was anyone alive.

"All guns down, hull breaches on desks one through ten, engine one gone, engine two at twenty percent. We have fires on desks three, five and seven. Damage control crews, not responding. Internal comms down." The report came from Rollin, Richard could see where she stood leaning against a console, blood was dripping from a wound on her forehead.

Richard moved to the comm station, every muscle in his body ached, his head was pounding and his vision was blurred. He pulled the lifeless corpse of his former communications officer off the console and opened a comm channel to the Jarrow.

"Alexandria, we registered multiple hits, what's your status." Tyler's voice was full of concern and held more than a hint of panic.

"We're on fire, venting atmosphere, our armour is destroyed, hull buckling, engines almost gone and we have no weapons to speak of. I'm giving the order to abandon ship. I'd appreciate if you could pick up my crew." Richard said as he keyed the abandon ship order into the comm system. Alarms began blaring throughout the ship.

"We'll do our best, but I doubt we'll be getting out of this. We still need five minutes and I doubt our scaly friends are going to sit back politely while we pick up your escape pods." The wolf replied.

"It started out such a nice day as well." Richard said sadly.

"The very best" Tyler agreed.

The human turned off the comm unit with the sad realisation he was never going to see the wolf again. He looked over to Rollin. "Get to an escape pod." He ordered.

"What about you?" She asked still unsteady on her feet.

"I've still got one fifth of an engine, I'm going to ram the bastards. I should be able to draw their fire long enough for the crew to escape." Richard said forcing his legs to work he staggered over to the helm controls.

"I could help." His commander shouted.

"No sense both of us dying. I'm the captain, it's my job. Besides I don't plan on dying today. Once the ship is close enough I'll eject. Now get out of here, that's an order commander." He reached the helm console and was relieved that it was still functional. He plotted a course for the battleship. The dragos ships had turned their fire on the Jarrow assuming that the human ship was dead in the water.

As Rollin left the bridge Richard saw the battleship let loose a volley of fire towards the Jarrow. He knew he had about thirty seconds before the battleship would be able to fire again. He engaged his engines and the ship lurched across the sky a limping David charging Goliath.

"Open black box recording. This is Captain Richard Jenson of the destroyer Alexandria. I wish to commend my crew who have served with bravery and devotion, no Captain could have asked for a finer crew. It was an honour to command them. End recording, launch black box." Richard heard the beep of the computer as it confirmed. The battleship was desperately turning trying to take evasive action. He fired what thrusters he could, doggedly staying on target.

Tyler couldn't tear his eyes off the Alexandria as she dove towards the battleship. He barked orders on automatic, his ship had taken significant damage off the last volley. As he watched the cruiser opened up a full volley this time aimed at the slow moving destroyer.

Half the volley landed on the destroyer midship, tearing it in half. The other half of the volley missed and smashed into the fleeing battleship. The Alexandria was not about to let it escape. In her death throws both halves of the ship hurtled towards the ship, the bow crashing heavily into it first. It ripped through the armour and destroyed several gun emplacements. The engine section hit next crashing next to the bridge of the half moon shaped battleship. For a moment Tyler thought that was it then the engine section exploded, tearing the battleship in half as it did so.

As his crew cheered, Tyler stood silent his eyes fixed on the cloud of debris. Richard was on the ship, he was sure of it. He felt relief at the destruction of his enemy, but the victory was empty to him. He brushed a tear away from his eye. "Helm bring us about. Scan for escape pods, I want to pick up any survivors." A few seconds later the dragos cruiser jumped clear.
