Chapter 3 What Did I Do?
"Stop laughing at me!" I yelled as Quilava kept on laughing, I had tried and tried to move my tail and I have only managed to fart thus far. We had just finished breakfast and had decided to try to move my tail again, we were near our new campsite.
"I'm sorry! It was just so funny!" Quilava said as she tried to control her laughter.
I sighed and looked at my tail, I was sitting down on the ground with my tail in front of me. I focused, I closed my eyes and concentrated on lifting it. I still hadn't gotten feeling on my tail so I had no idea if it would move or not but when I opened my eyes I saw Quilava with her mouth open staring at my tail. I was somewhat shocked too when I saw that the tip of my tail was just above my head. When I yelled in joy I lost control and the tail dropped on the ground, I didn't care thou. I raised my arms and yelled.
"How do you like that!?"
Quilava stared at me for a moment until she smiled. "I'm so proud of you."
"Well... It's not much yet but it's something."
Quilava stood up and said. "Now try standing."
I nodded and slowly got on all fours and pushed myself to stand up to my two legs. I threw my hands around a little to keep my balance but I managed to stay on my two feet, I just stood there balancing myself for a while until I smiled and yelled. "Finally!"
The celebration was short lived thou when I fell down on my but again, I looked down and the ground and clashed my teeth together. Quilava came close to me and said. "Don't be angry, it takes time for you to regain your motor skills."
I sighed and nodded, I then went to lie down on my back and looked at the clouds. I wondered out loud. "I wonder if this is how babies feel like..."
Quilava giggled as she lied down as well. "You didn't use to think about stuff like that. The only thing you ever talked about was about defeating your enemies. No matter how big they were."
"I guess I was simple minded back then..."
Quilava pushed me with her head. "Don't think about the past, you were mean back then but now you're nice."
I sighed and sat back up, I wanted to keep talking to Quilava but Jonathan called. "Raichu! Quilava! Over here, now!"
We didn't waste a second, we got on all fours and started running to him, as we were getting closer we noticed another human. It was a little kid, roughly about the half of Jon's size and apparently her was also a Pokémon trainer. When Quilava and I got to Jon he kneeled and said. "I'm going to try to find the others, this kid here wants to see my Pokémon before we battle. So stay here and keep him company, okay?"
We nodded and Jon ran off to find the others, the kid kneeled in front of us and looked at Quilava carefully. I didn't care about the kid so much so I just sat down while Quilava looked at the kid, the kid laughed and said. "You look funny."
I figured that the kid probably hadn't ever seen a Johto Pokémon before, so I just sat and looked as the kid looked at Quilava carefully. Quilava didn't seem to like it very much but didn't do anything. The reached out his hand and petted Quilava. He did it for a while until he took his arm up and hit Quilava. "You look weak, unlike my Pokémon. They are strong."
I didn't know what to do, I couldn't believe that the kid had just hit her. I kept my eye on him as he kept talking. "I wonder, how long would you last against my Wartoltle. He is strong."
I was shocked the kid hit her again, this time Quilava took a step back and ignited her flames. The kid got scared and jumped back. He took out a Pokéball and yelled. "You want to battle huh? Well take this!"
The kid threw the Pokéball at Quilava and it bounced off of her head and let out the kids Wartolte, Quilava was still a little dizzy when the kid called out an attack. "Water gun!"
I watched with an open jaw as the turtle started to spit out a powerful stream of water, Quilava screamed as she was being pushed back by the super effective attack. When the turtle stopped his attack to get air I got angry and stood up, I ran in front of Quilava and yelled. "Don't you dare to hurt her!"
I didn't even notice when electricity started sparking out of my cheeks, the sparks alone were so powerful that when they hit the ground little pieces of the ground would blow up. I took a deep breath and screamed out with all my anger, the electricity got packed up and launched in a super charged Thunder attack at the turtle. As the attack flew towards it the electricity destroyed pieces and lines on the ground. When the attack hit the turtle it yelled in deep pain and the ground it was standing upon turned black, I get the flow of electricity going on for a while but when I had to stop to breathe I fell down on my butt and panted as I watched in shock as to what had happened. The kid also seemed scared shitless, the turtle was lying unconsciously and blackened. It didn't take a few seconds longer for Jonathan to run back with Weavile and Scizor while screaming. "What the hell is going on here?!"
As Jon was screaming at the kid I turned around still panting to Quilava, she looked at me and said. "Thank you."
I then looked at myself and wondered out loud. "I see now, I really am powerful..."
It was getting dark, I was sitting on grass and looking at the sunset. I thought of what had happened today, I didn't know how I did what I did or how can I do it again. My train of though was interrupted when Quilava snuck behind me. "Jonathan wants you to come back, he's putting everyone in their Pokéballs.."
I sighed. "I don't even know how I did it, I just screamed and felt a spark of power in my cheeks."
"Well, you have enough power to knock almost all possible opponents unconscious."
I kept looking at the sunset, I didn't react when Quilava sat next to me. I just sat there looking at the sunset for a while, when the sun was almost gone I spoke. "We should head back."
"Yeah..."
We started moving after a while, we both moved on all fours towards the camp. It didn't take long to get to Jonathan and the others, he was putting everyone in their Pokéballs when we were walking towards him. After he finished putting the final team member in his Pokéball I sat on the ground in front of him. Jonathan crouched and talked to us. "I'm glad you two are getting along, tomorrow we are going to the Fuchsia City Gym. There we will face Janine, the daughter of Koga of the Elite Four. Tomorrow is going to be a very hard battle so I hope you are ready, I am counting on the both of you to fight. I know that you can't really do much Raichu but I hope to use you in this battle, I hope that it will reawaken your battle instincts. Understand?"
I nodded with a smile, Jon smiled too and put his hand on my head. "I'm gonna put you to your Pokéball so you won't have trouble sleeping. OK?"
I nodded again, this time Jon stood up and took out a Pokéball. He pointed it at me and said. "Tomorrow is an important day, don't let me down."
I nodded and saw a red light, it was like I blacked out or something.
A bright red light, it slowly faded away and when I opened my eyes I was a huge building that was made to look like it belonged in an old city or something. I didn't know where it was from but it seemed a little familiar, when I looked around I saw Jon next to me. He was looking to the distance somewhere, I turned to look where he looked and saw a girl. She had black pants, a purple shirt, purple cape and purple hair. I believe that that was Janine. She looked determined, she quickly took out a Pokéball and threw it. Out came an Ariados. Jon smiled and threw a Pokéball as well, out came Quilava. She roared and ignited her flames, Jon wasted no time calling out an attack. "Flamethrower!"
"Night Shade!"
Ariados's horn turned black and fired a black beam with red outlines as Quilava spat out flames from her mouth. When the two attacks met there was an explosion, the smoke covered the arena and Jon called out another attack. "Flame Wheel!"
Quilava quickly started spinning and covered herself in flames. She started going towards Ariados's location as the smoke moved from her path. She quickly got to Ariados and hit it, Ariados flew to the side and Quilava came at it again and again. Janine called out her attack. "Night Shade!"
"Extrasensory!" Jon yelled.
Quilava got out of her flaming ball form and started firing a golden beam with a rainbow inside it while Ariadon fired a black beam with red outlines. When the two attacks met this time the explosion was even bigger. As the smoke started filling the arena again Janine yelled."Bounce!"
Ariados jumped at Quilava and landed on top of her, it used its legs to trap Quilava to the ground. Jon smiled and yelled. "Flamethrower!"
Quilava's flames got stronger as she started spitting fire, the Ariados quickly gpt off of her but Quilava didn't let it get away that easily. She chased Ariados for a while and eventually Ariados got unconscious and Quilava stopped her attack. She looked at me and smiled. Jon waved to her and she came next to him, Janine called back Ariados and yelled. "You are good, but how will you fare against this one! Go! Venomoth!"
Jon turned to me and said. "Go."
I wanted to object but moved to the arena as ordered, I got butterflies in my stomach as I looked at the opponents Venomoth. I couldn't think, I only could look at Venomoth and wait for a command.
"Psychic!" Janine yelled.
I looked at Venomoth who started glowing blue, I didn't know what it was doing but I noticed that I was also glowing blue. To my surprise I started flying, I was soon on Venomoth's altitude as I started panicking a little. I was confused and scared at the same time, I couldn't get back on the ground and Venomoth was glowing even more. It's eyes glowed blue and I started feeling pain. I yelled in pain as Venomoth's attack started hurting me in every part of my body, I could barely make noise anymore as Venomoth started crushing me even more.
"Thunder!"
I heard Jon's command but didn't know what to do, I turned my head a little so I could see them. Jonathan looked determined but Quilava...She was standing on her back legs and held her front paws on her mouth, she was horrified. She was scared what was happening to me? I looked at her a little and saw a tear, then something clicked. I got angry and turned to Venomoth. I could feel how I started charging with power that was inside me, I could feel and see dark yellow sparks from my cheeks. I looked at Venomoth and screamed, I somehow managed to launch an attack that was even more powerful that the one I had used yesterday. When it hit Venomoth it sounded and felt like I was in the middle of a huge thunder storm. Venomoth quickly lost focus and put me down, I fell on my back and Venomoth fell down unconscious. I stood up and turned to Jon. He smiled and nodded, Quilava looked relieved.
"Not bad!" Janine yelled. "But what about this one?!"
She threw another Pokéball and this time out came Drapion, I turned to Jon who waved me to come back. I ran to him and he threw another Pokéball. I thought it was going to be Scizor but instead he sent out Exeggutor.
I heard Quilava whispering. "I was worried for you."
I smiled and whispered back. "Thank you, can you tell me how strong he is?"
"He is the only one of us who could defeat you."
I looked at the Exeggutor, he looked pretty dumb and didn't look too strong to me but I knew better than to underestimate my opponents now. I swallowed and thought out loud. "I wonder what he can do..."
