Author's Note: I'm Back, did you miss me...I guessed not. Anyway, this is a new story series I've been thinking about this idea for a while now, and I figured why not try it? This one is going to be a little more serious than the last one. I always thought of this as an idea for a TV show one day (just to show you how crazy I am) This psoting just sets the stage for everything. I hope you enjoy. - AK

The following are excerpts from the article: "Bad Moon Rising: Modern- Day Lycanthropy." It appeared in the St. Michael's University journal of Science in the November 20XX edition.

... "It is now believed by many historians and scientists that some of those individuals put to death in the Middle Ages suffered from actual lycanthropy, or the ability to transform into a wereanimal, if you will. It is still unknown what gene allows the lycanthrope to transform nor what gene dictates what animal said lycanthrope can transform into."

... "It should be noted that actual transformation into an animal is impossible. Rather, the lycanthrope in a transformed state is much akin to a human in all but its appearance. Imagine a human covered in fur, with the head and tail of a wolf, yet the ability to speak and walk upright. The strength and senses are heightened in this state to that far beyond a human being, but human speech and reasoning remain unchanged. This transformation can be done at will..."

... "recent fears of lycanthrope attacks, (no doubt a result of militant groups auguring for lycanthrope superiority) have led to the creation of a cocktail of chemicals dubbed "Wolfsbane." This cocktail, if injected into a lycanthrope, will cause shock and eventually death. However, the doctor who created it, Dr. Rufus DeBoer, seeing the effect quickly created an antidote known by lycanthropes as "Full Moon" which, once injected after Wolfsbane, will render the latter's effect void. Each chemical is readily avalible and each one has been approved only for use in "self-Defence." Wolfsbane if injected into a human has no diserable affects, though allergic reactions are possible but are easily treated with an epipen..."

FAMOUS SURGEON "COMES OUT OF THE CAGE," ADMITS HE IS A LYCANTHROPE. Date: December 12 20XX

"Dr. Matthew Tennant, long considered one of the premier surgeons in this country has revealed himself as a lycanthrope, more specifically a "were-stag."

"I do not see the point in hiding it anymore." The Doctor was quoted as saying. "I believe that my revelation will encourage others like me in high positions to come out so that the lycanthrope community can gain acceptance."...

Lycanthrope purchases apartment complex; intends to use it for housing other Lycanthropes. Date: January 17, 20XY

The famed Mona Suites, once owned by Zachary J. Mona has been purchased by Dr. Matthew Tennant. A little more than a month ago, Dr. Tennant came out of the cage and encouraged others to do the same. Dr. Tennant, in an exclusive interview with the Gazette, claimed he would use the building mostly for Lycanthropes, but would allow anyone who would like to rent a room to do so, provided they are "respectful of all the tenants within the building." The Suites themselves have a large common room in addition to several housing units. Some have taken to calling the Suites, "the Zoo" based on the number of lycanthropes expected to live there..."

WHEN ANIMALS ATTACK: MILITANT LYCANTHOPE GROUP SLAYS POLITICAN, FAMILY. Date: January 7, 20XY

The militant lycanthope group known as WILD (Warriors Intending Lycanthrope Dominance) is being blamed for a recent string of attacks, culminating in the brutal attacks last night on Anthony Jacobson, the congressman from the Xth district and his family. On their website, WILD takes credit for the attacks and vow that the attacks will continue, until "Lycanthropes are given the rights that are due to them." The public backlash against lycanthropes has been extreme. Anti-Lycanthrope groups such as CATTL (Citizens advocating the taming of Lycanthropes) have seen the number of members increase. "I feel it's the only way I can protect myself." One new member said.

POLITICANS PASS LAB, DIVIDE GROWS. Date: February 21, 20XY.

Local politicians have signed the LAB (Lycanthrope Advisement Bill, also known as the Jacobson Bill after the late Anthony Jacobson) into effect yesterday. The bill will appoint a government advisor who will informe local police and the district attorney about an potnetinal unlawful lycanthrope activity. While many in the community believe that this bill is necessary in securing peace, lycanthropes argue it is a violation of their Civil Rights. The group known as WILD has already "declared open season" on anyone attempting to enforce this law. Other lycanthropes, such as Dr. Matthew Tennant, while in opposition to the law, intends to follow it to "show that most of us mean no harm. We just want to live our lives as any other member of the community." LAB is the latest in a series of laws which lycanthropes argue violates their rights. This include the Federal Lycanthrope Amendments passed last year which include... a provision against the adoption of human children by anthros...,

March 16, 20XY,

Dr. Tennant,

The District Attorney has approved an advisor be placed in Mona Suites starting next month and This advisor will guide us in handling any and all legal ramifications that may result from you and any lodgers you may have. You may feel free to ask questions of this advisor, although be aware that he is an agent of the State of New Jersey. Your advisor's name is Mr. James Dulion. He has asked me to request on his behalf a room in your apartment complex on the first floor which he will be happy to pay for as any other tenant. (He requests a room on the first floor as he is handicapped and requires the use of a cane) so that he may do his job more efficiently. Mr. Dulion is NOT a lawyer, but has been certified by the New Jersey Bar to provide legal advice. Any interference with Mr. Dulion's job will result in prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
