Familiar Part 1 - Ebony

He ran quickly darting between trees. The forest lay was alive with the sounds of bugs and frogs. Rain fell in droves as the young human ran. Torches glowed brightly far behind as they gave chase. A flintlock crack let out as a bullet imbedded into a tree next to him. His blue eyes glanced back seeing the group just behind. The farther he ran the taller the trees began to climb.

Far behind him a tall human with a pressed uniform on glared through the trees. Two big black wolves stepped up next to him. On their hind legs they looked at their master. "Shall we go after him sir?" The right one said his yellow eyes gleaming brightly. "Please order us to do so," The left one growled bearing its fangs. "Bring him to me," The general smirked.

With the order spoken the two wolves darted forward. They quickly whipped forward bypassing the human solders. The young boy gasped hearing the sounds of their claws tearing at tree bark. His pace quickened and his heart pounded. His own kind would be merciful but these beasts were not human. His torn shoes soon came upon solid stone as he came to the ruins of one of the old cities. With a turn he quickly ran up the steps and pushed open the old rotting wood of the door. Inside the mountain he felt no safety. Many of these old ruins had no way out except the front door.

Hearing the wolves' claws on the stone steps he rushed down a hallway. Rushing towards a hallway he hurried down the claustrophobic halls. "Where did he go?" One of the black canines spoke to the other. Sniffing the air the wolves moved slowly down the hall. Careful knowing very well the crumbling halls were no place to get careless.

These creatures were known as Familiar. They are a race of beings who were half animal and half man. They travel as spirits invisible amongst man. However when someone shows they have a soul worth protecting a familiar comes to follow them. They're strength lies in the natural world with the power of elements at their call. Some have existed for centuries much like these wolves. These two were young by comparison to some of the stronger, older, more experience Familiar. These wolves simply followed orders seeking powerful men above all else.

The boy gasped wearing down. He tumbled down a hall pushing himself to get onto his feet in a great hall. The skeletal bodies of ancient men lay about the result of a great war. Black soot lined the walls from some unknown source of heat. With a sigh he collapsed next to the throne at the end of the hall. "There he is," One of the gruff voices spoke. Each stepped from the hall at the end of the great tables. They split to each side of the table walking slowly moving closer through the darkness.

Moonlight streamed in through a large hole in the ceiling casting their eyes bright yellow. Gasping for breath he pushed back against throne seat breathing heavily. "Don't move kid, this won't take long," The other grumbled. "Please...I...," The boy reached up. His hand met the long dead king's boney digits. A small black ebony ring perched lightly on his finger. With a crack the boy slipped back tearing the boney limb off. The ring clanged loudly on floor as if a ton of stone had crashed onto the floor.

Yelping the wolves back up from the loud noise the ring made. Seeing this made boy gulped and reached forward and grabbed the ring. Lifting it up he slammed it back down onto the ground letting out another crackling blast of sound. Howling the wolves folded their ears back and stepped back slightly. Wanting to end the onslaught on their ears they rushed forward to attack the boy. With a click two small circles on the top and bottom of the ring turned. The ring split open and a flood of black smoke rushed forth throughout the room.

Covering his eyes the boy heard the loud clang of a blade. The swift yelp of a wolf followed soon after. He could hear the claws on stone rushing away down the hall. Then he heard a new noise; the loud thundering clop of hooves on stone. Sharply followed by a second loud clop. Then the thick smell of musk from a powerful beast before him. "Who are you?" A voice spoke and the boy looked up.

With a gasp he saw a massive black bull before him. A powerful chest, muscular gut, thick arms, and a handsome muzzle all covered in coarse black fur. Two long ivory white horns gleaming in the little bit of moonlight. His eyes gleaming in deep aqua with narrow serpentine pupils. His tail that of a massive snake. A faint course of blue and purple scales tipped with a large rattle. "I asked you a question kid," The bull glared down. "I...I...see ya!" The boy got up to run. In a wisp of smoke bull reformed in front of him stopping him.

Falling back onto his ass with a grunt he gasped. A sudden jerk lifted him off the floor. Looking back at the bull he saw his large beefy hand holding his shirt. His head turned to the bones still upon the throne. Setting him down gently on his feet the bull released his shirt. "You bastard," The bull growled stepping to the bones. In his right hand smoke swarmed and raising it up the smoke cleared showing a massive black scythe with a six foot blade. Slicing across the chair he torn the bones and stone apart. In anger he slammed his scythe into the stone and remains. "You said you would free me! You said once you had enough I would no longer serve you!" He growled and held up his other hand.

A black sphere formed in his palm and with a motion of his fingers a blast erupted from his hand. The bones and throne turned to dust as the metal rusted away. A line of dust trailing back to a hole in the back wall. Turning back at the boy who was more terrified than ever. Raising his scythe the bull brought it down on the boy. Raising his hand the bull's weapon shattered and blasted the bull back into the wall.

Opening his palm he saw the ebony ring still clutched in his hand. "So you take claim to me now?" The bull pushed himself up. "Um...What are you?" The boy gasped stepping back. "What do you think? A Familiar, That is my bind this world, now that you own it you own me," He growled and forced up onto his hooves. "So...I...own you? If that's true then tell me your name," he held up the ring. "Andreas, Former Familiar of his majesty Argoth Monra," He stepped closer. "Argoth? How can you still be alive, if that's who you served, your well over seven hundred years old," The boy spoke. The bull huffed thinking about how much time had passed. He then explained that Familiars don't age. They don't die of natural causes. Their masters must release them from servitude before they die or they will pass on to the next. He also explained that the ring was his Bind. A conduit that all Familiars have to connect them to their masters.

"Then if you truly do belong to me, then I am Jake your...new master," The boy chimed and stepped up to the bull. He looked at him narrowing in on the scars along his tall eight foot form. He had heard legends of these Ancient powerful Familiar. But most of them had been released by their masters centuries ago. The tension was thick between the two. Only broken by the clinging of boots rushing into the temple. "Friends of yours?" Andreas asked. "No their after me," He quickly turned to run before realizing he had a weapon finally. "Teleport me outta here!" He ordered. "What?" Andreas raised an eyebrow. "Can't you teleport me away like you did a second ago?" Jake hoped. "No, but do you want to run?" The bovine asked. "YES!" He yelled before Andreas grabbed his shirt and pulled him up into his arms. With one swift jump they lifted up to the hole in the ceiling. Back into the night Jake yelled and held onto the bull's fur. Landing with a soft thud on the mountain side Andreas kicked off again. This time he moved over the tree tops quickly through the air. In amazement Jake had forgotten to tell him how far he wanted to run. It only dawned on him once they had gone past two mountains. "Um...this is far enough, you can stop now," Jake gripped the strong chest against him.

Andreas slowly came to a stop kicking off much shorter distance to reduce speed. He soon came to a stop in a field far from danger. The sun starting to rise up over the hills around them. "Wow um...that was interesting," He gulped. Andreas didn't respond and looked around at the field seeing the sun starting to shine on the grass. When the golden rays pressed against Andreas; Jake stood in aw. The bull was intimidating by night. However, by day he was near godly. He noticed a few more things that had escaped him in the dim light of the moon.

A thick sheath and heavy orbs hung between his legs. Jake flushed with embarrassment and looked away. "Could you put something on?" Jake stared at the grass. "Are you not pleased with my appearance?" Andreas asked nonchalantly. Jake kept looking at the grass and Andreas snapped his fingers. A purple kilt grew on over his waist to cover his naughty bits. A thick harness of studded leather lined with fur grew over his shoulders down to his kilt. "Is this somewhat more appropriate?" Andreas smiled. Jake nodded looking at him then at the ring in his palm. Sliding it over his finger he watched as the bovine waited for orders of any kind. "Can...can you find me a place to sleep?" Jake yawned a little. Turning away Andreas wisped away in slivers of smoke. Now alone Jake sat on the grass in a familiar setting. He was normally alone so having someone to order was new. Drawing his fingers in the soil he felt a presence near him again. "I found a place," Andreas picked him up again. Carrying his young master away they came to a large abandoned barn hidden near the trees. Old dry piles of wheat and hay hidden amongst the old rafters. Setting him down on a pile Jake wasn't awake for long. Turning onto his side he dozed off on the soft pile.

Andreas stood watch over him. Sleeping for a few centuries made even a familiar not want to close his eyes for a while. He took this time to examine his new master. There isn't much to him really. Of course humans all look the same to Familiars. His short blonde hair tasseled amongst the wheat. His blue eyes closed lightly as his soft pink lips opened slightly. His chest and arms strong but far from thick. His stomach slender with generously wide hips for a boy. He felt a slight stirring inside of him.

For centuries he had been alone. Trapped in a dark void waiting for a voice to call out to him. This boy had finally done that. The simple words he spoke were enough to make his ears ring with joy. Though he would not show it he was happy to be back in the real world. Sliding up to him he put a hand on his side gently. He took a moment to feel the worn and tattered cloth of his torn shirt. Leaning in he inhaled the scent of the boy. It wasn't the cleanest smell but it was far from filthy. Just engaging his senses on the boy's soft neck was tantalizing.

Slowly he moved a hand down along the boy's soft hip feeling the rougher cloth of his trousers. The boy gasped lightly in his sleep. The feel of the bull's hot breath on his neck made his fingers grip the straw. Andreas had been ordered many times to please a master. His dominance was apparent just from appearances. However, he'd never willingly looked at someone and wanted to be next to them. Running a hand along his soft rump made Andreas grunt softly. A primal animalistic lust came from Familiars. It wasn't a secret that they were idolized as weapons and erotic fixations.

Jake pushed back against his touch in his sleep. The feeling of his large warm hands exploring his body making him hot. His trousers began to tent slightly as his manhood grew gently pressing against the fabric. Andreas stopped as his stirrings began to grow. The ring upon the boy's finger gleamed slightly. Andreas pulled his hand back as a small black shock sparked from his fingers. Without the orders Andreas could not indulge his lustful ideas. In an instant Andreas would claim this young man as his own. But the natural laws of Familiars made that impossible.

Jake whimpered softly in his sleep. Demanding the warmth of his touch back against him. Jake turned in his slumber and gripped the massive bull's hand. The day continued without incident and Andreas guarded his master. What would become of the two was not yet certain but what was starting was apparent.
