CHAPTER 1: THE VISITOR

"Okay class we have a special guest today." Leo sat and moved his golden blonde hair out of his face. "Who is it Mr.Spencer?" Mr.Spencer smiled and said, "You'll see." Leo sat and played with his toy dragons for a while then got bored. He was long asleep when his classroom door opened and a tall man with dark brown hair, the color of wet mud, dressed in jeans and tee shirt walked in. "Hello children I'm here to teach you about reptiles." The man said. "Hey Leo did you here that? Lizards!" Leo had fallen asleep and had his hoodie pulled over his head. It was two in the afternoon and they would be going home soon. "ARGH Leo wake up!" Leo popped his head up and was dazed for a minute. His best and only friend was Marley. They looked almost like twins; they both had the same silver hair the same color as melting gold and eyes the color of storm clouds with green mixed in. They had always been in the same class since 1st grade and were planning on going to the same high school in a year "What?" Leo asked, as he was about to doze off again. "The special guest is here and he's going to teach about lizards and snakes!" Marley exclaimed. "And who are you two youngsters?" the man asked. Marley and Leo's heads snapped around like a whip. "Yes you two, your names?" Marley introduced themselves, "Iam Marley and this is Leo" The man nodded and furrowed his brow like he was thinking of something important. "How old are you?" he asked Leo who looked puzzled. "Uhmm we're turning 13 this year, why?" The man looked shocked and walked to the front of the room and said "Amici somno et evigilantes vestrum cum memoria praeteritorum" All of the students besides Marley and Leo became glassy eyed and had gaping mouths. "Alright children and Mr.Spencer, you will forget that I was ever here and that Marley and Leo ever existed. "When I snap my fingers you will return to class and life as usual. "Marley, Leo come here please." The two walked very cautiously towards the man. "Who are you?" Leo asked "Oh how rude of me, my name is Felix of Stormclan. First born of Fallingtree and Tinyclaw. King's hand and advisor." Leo and Marley burst out laughing "What? Did you hypnotize yourself or something?" Marley laughed out. Felix shook his head and said "Forget the formal introductions, do you two believe in dragons and werewolves and other creatures of 'fairytales' or so humans believe?" Leo and Marley nodded their heads. "Good then let's go." Felix grabbed them both by the arms and they rushed out of the room but before leaving he snapped his fingers and everyone woke up dazed. "Felix! Where are you taking us!" Marley shouted. Felix just kept running. Eventually they ended up in some woods behind the school. "Please stay here a moment." Felix said as he ran off. "Leo what's going on?" Marley said as she looked around. "I don't know. Felix! Where are you?" Leo shouted "I don't know where we are, we were running so fast." Leo said. All of a sudden he heard Felix shout to them "Marley, Leo come here!" Leo grabbed Marley's arm and they ran after Felix's voice. They ran about 300 yards when they stumbled into a clearing and right in the middle there was a dragon.

CHAPTER 2: NEW BEGININGS

The dragon's scales looked like oil when the sun the hit them. Its wingspan was about 25 feet wide and its body was 40. "Leo Marley it's me!" Marley looked like she was about to faint. "Marley come on! It's me, Felix!" Felix walked closer to Marley and put his scaly muzzle on her forehead. Leo noticed a large scar that ran the length of his snout. Leo remembered seeing a scar like that on his human form. Marley looked up into Felix's eyes. "'Tis alright little one, but we must leave now your kingdom needs you.Hop onto my back please." He held out a gigantic paw to help them up and placed them on his back "Hold on tight you two." He said. He then said some sort of spell then slashed the air in front of them. The air around them started to become distorted and in front of them some sort of portal opened up. Felix took a few steps back then he bolted into the portal. Leo closed his eyes when Felix started running and when he opened them he was amazed; they were flying over what seemed to have been forest at one point but now it was burnt out and they were no signs of life once so ever "Felix, where are we?" Marley asked. Felix didn't hear for the wind swept her words away. A mountain was looming in front of them and Felix dipped down to the base of the mountain. There seemed to be a tunnel that wound into the heart of the mountain itself. Felix landed and Leo and Marley hopped off. "Follow me." He said. So they followed him into the tunnel. They followed the winding path in darkness for almost 15 minutes then all of a sudden there was a flash and a clicking sound like stone on stone. There was a popping sound as the wall moved and revealed a forest full of giant trees. "Come on little ones let's find some shelter 'fore it gets too dark." So they walked for awhile until the found a giant tree with its top disappearing into the sky. The roots where taller than Felix in his dragon form and they made an area under tree. They moved the vines away from one of the openings into the tree and inside the ground was soft and there was moss and lichen made into a bed like something had been laying there but there were no traces of anyone or anything except a spotted pelt that hung off the wall and a necklace made entirely of small fangs. "Where are we?" Marley asked. Felix sighed and said,"This used to be Ocelot Tribe's home, until the Battle of Bearfang's fall "Sit we have much to discuss." He motioned for them to sit on the ground. Felix made a small pile with the lichen and moss a made a small fire. "It all started 13 years ago, you two were only about two but StormClan had been in power for only 7 years and Bearfang was a fair and just ruler. He had tried to avoid any conflict when King Xylnthean died and he took over but even the best intentions can lead to grief. Bearfang assigned Nighteyes from Marshclan as his Hand but what Bearfang didn't know was that Nighteyes was conspiring against him, for you see Xylnthean was Nighteyes father but when he died Nighteyes was too young so he appointed Bearfang as king until Nighteyes was of age. Nighteyes still was not old enough when he over threw Bearfang but he believed the throne was his. I was training in the king's royal guard and I found out and brought the evidence to the royal court. Nighteyes was banished to the Outlands and I was made Bearfang's Hand. Life was prosperous, there was no fighting with any of the tribes or clans and the winters hadn't been too harsh. Then all of a sudden Seal Tribe from the Eastern shore was attacked by an extremely strong force. Only 15 of the Seal Tribe survived. They came to Stormclan seeking shelter from whatever it was that attacked their home. They told us the dragon leading the attack was black as night and its movements were even more silent. It led a group of black dragons covered in tattoos the color of fire. So we believed them and told all of the tribes and clans be on guard and report any suspicious behavior. Things were fine for a few a moons then we got word that the Mountain Wolf Pack, one of our most loyal and strongest allies, had been attacked. We sent a troop of 50 dragons to go investigate. Only 17 returned and they said there were no bodies just the bones of poor pups and their mothers with their fathers trying to stand guard and protect them. They said they were attacked by the same group that had attacked Seal Tribe. At this point we weren't sure what to do, all of our allies were being attacked and wiped out and other clans and tribes started to doubt Bearfang's power. He tried to reassure safety by sending a guard of 100 dragons to each and every tribe and clan leaving himself unprotected. He and his mate Moon Face had four eggs and when the final attack on Bearfang was made two were stolen. I was there when Nighteyes ripped Bearfang's heart out still beating in front of Moon Face and their dragonlings. I only had time to save two eggs before Nighteyes attacked me and stole the other two. I sent the two eggs to the human world as human babies." Marley and Leo were stunned and sat in silence. Leo sat with his head in his hands trying to comprehend what was going on. "So are you telling us that we are those two dragonlings?" Marley asked. Felix nodded silently and whispered, "I tried to save the other ones I just couldn't they were too strong." Marley couldn't understand what was going on everything made more sense now; every time she had gone to the zoo the lizards were always attracted to her and fire never seemed to burn her. "Leo your mother named you Littlefang because you were the smallest of the dragonlings she ever had and Marley your name is Lilynose because when you were a babe your nose was soft and pink like a lily." Felix smiled as he said that and his eyes seemed distant as he spoke of the old times. "Well is Nighteyes still out there and does he have my siblings?" Leo asked "Yes but Nighteyes has corrupted their minds. Their names were Oakchest, and Firewind but the dark magic has made them darker than night and their names are terrible now, Rageclaw and Swordscar. Oakheart used to have scales the color of the freshest cut oak wood and Firewind was a cream with fiery swirls on his shoulders but its all gone now." Leo felt an un-conquerable rage coming from the deepest parts of his body. The rage consumed him and surprised him. He felt stronger than he had ever felt before. "Where is Nighteyes! I want to rip his cursed heart out his chest like he did my father. He will pay for destroying my brothers!" Leo shouted as punched the inside of the tree and left a gaping hole. Felix grabbed Marley and told her to go wait outside while he talked to Leo. "Leo listen to me! You must learn to control your rage and use it to your advantage!" Felix shouted towards Leo. "You are a young male with the spirit of a vengeful dragon in you and must learn to control the dragon spirit and we will avenge your father and get your brothers but you aren't strong enough yet. You need to learn to use your dragon form. We must find allies from the rest of the tribes and clans." Leo was breathing fast and rapid trying to calm down and find peace. "Come on son I'll show you how to shift" So they walked outside the tree and found Marley standing quietly. "Marley I m sorry if I scared you I couldn't control myself." Leo apologized. Marley hugged him and said "Its okay you're my brother I can't be mad at you. I'll be there to help you through this." Leo smiled and mussed her hair a bit and turned toward Felix. "So you gonna teach us how to turn or whatever?" Leo asked "Well I can if you don't have a rage fit and attempt to kill us." Felix teased. Leo sighed and disregarded Felix. "Okay first you need to find your mind's eye." Felix started Marley and Leo closed their eyes and took deep breathes. "Then think of something that makes you angry or sad or anything you are very emotional about, that shouldn't be too hard for you two." Leo started growling and when he opened his eyes Felix saw they were glowing green and then suddenly Leo burst into flames and when the flames dissipated Leo had transformed into a small dragon with dappled green scales and brown stripes. Marley burst out laughing. "No wonder your called Littlefang! You're no bigger than a truck!" Leo growled at Marley and hid his face with his tail. "Wonderful m'boy! You seem to have control over your new body it normally takes first timers a while to get used to it. "Alright Marley same for you."Marley closed her eyes and thought about the one time during lunch when Kayle Everdeen tripped her on purpose causing her to spill her lunch's contents about. All of sudden she shifted. Her dragon burst from the flames. Her scales were a creamy white with light brown splotches. Her limbs were long and lithe and when she walked her limbs seemed to float. "Woah. This is awesome." She exclaimed. Felix smiled happily. "This is only the beginning, we still need to find allies. Im convinced most of the Western Kingdom is more than willing to accept their rightful King and princess." Leo and Marley nodded and shifted back. She yawned and rubbed her eyes. Felix began to return to the tree. "Come on guys, we got a long day tommorow. Let's get some rest." The two followed him eagerly. They made small beds of the lichen and moss. Marley snuggled up next to him and laid her head on his shoulder. "Night Leo." she said softly "G'night sis."
