#2 of Falling Snow

Snow, as beautiful as falling snow. She was the Snow, she was death, she was life, just for him. An assassin to his heart.

FALLING SNOW

Chapter 2-

Snow jogged to the track, from here she could see her equipment and smiled. She didn't care much for dashes or sprints, but she loved leaping and soaring. The rush that flooded her whole body when she was airborne, it was the best freedom in the world. The Pole vault was the gate to that rush, the temporary flight, the cherished seconds. As she neared the track and fields fence she braced her legs, bent her knees and sprang over the fence. Her tail guided her descent and she continued towards the Pole vault, stopping to catch her breath in front of the structure. After a few moments Snow picked up the pole and took on her position in front of the pole vaulting structure.

Closing her eyes she took in a deep breathe and then let it go, repeating this until she had drawn together her frayed mind, all the thoughts and troubles that had been plaguing her recently cast aside far from her. The only picture in her mind the sight of the pole vault, and when she pictured herself charging forward she did so. Springing forward she propelled herself and the weight of the pole with her powerful legs.

Snow kept her eyes on the target, the metal box where she was to plant her pole. With an unnatural enchanting type of grace she planted her pole into the box and lifted off the ground, air hissing at her ears as she soared straight up into the cloudless sky. Her feet the guide of her flight as she was lifted skyward her body flowing elegantly behind the matching pair of paws.

Release and then she was truly flying, the pole fell away beneath her, her fur and hair lashing in the wind. She wrapped her tail around her right leg and arched her back as she remembered the bar. Smiling as she felt it pass by underneath her, not even brushing her fur.

Then the feeling changed, the rush quickly faded and she opened her eyes wide, her tail unraveling to control her falling position. Guiding herself into position she prepared to land, letting lose the breathe she was holding.

Ted had gotten dressed for practice before the rest of the team and had departed for the field, his helmet dangled from his right hand fingers. Field positions were running through his mind, tactics and numbers. A metallic clang caught his attention he lifted his eyes from the ground, his breathe catching in his throat. There past the fence was the leopard from earlier that day, that had almost bit his head off for the locker stunt.

But here it was like she was a total different creature, the attention and respect the sight of her demanded was intimidating in this show of power. Her body was curved in a U her feet passing her face allowing her form to straighten. She then flexed and pushed off of the metal pole, he could see her smile from here, those fierce eyes closed in serenity.

She was wearing running shorts and a sport bra, her fur gleamed in the sunlight like freshly fallen snow. Only her fur was alive in the wind, like a plain of long ivory strands, moving like lithe dancers on her body. She arched her body as soon as the bar was under her ankles. Over it she soared, her arms spread out in a V as if in celebration. Once past the bar she began the descent, her tail flying free and stuck out straightening her body to let her feet land. And land she did, her muscles rippled under her fur. Bending her knees to take in the impact, she then pushed off onto her hands and stood there. She let out a breathe, letting her feet fall and stood up.

"That was amazing." He said

Snow spun around and crouched in defense, a hiss rolling between bared teeth as a unwelcome sound invaded her ears. Calculations and defensive moves flooded her mind, her eyes took in the form and scanned for weak spots. This was a form built for overpowering with strength and weight, this form was...

"Ted?!" Snow snapped and stood embarrassment making her skin crawl under his gaze.

"Ya, calm down killer." He laughed, carefully she controlled herself and his the way she flinched at his words.

"Sorry thought you were someone else." Snow grumbled "Anyways why are you out here?" Her crystalline eyes dropping to his outfit, a sleeveless muscle shirt, and football pants.

"Today's football practice." He noticed her face grow dark at the words and the barely there shiver that raced through her. She moved to pass him but was stopped as he grabbed her wrist only to grunt in shock as his wrist was pinned behind his back with the twist of her own. Breaking her wrist out of his grip in the process, she instantly released him once she was free.

"Sorry." She mumbled her hands resting on his back to keep him from turning around to face her. She didn't want to look into those merry eyes, and feel like she had at her locker.

Ted said nothing, stunned at how quickly she had deflected him. Pushing him forward and trapping him like he was a paper weight. "The names Snow, sorry." With that she turned to leave before the obnoxious group of football players came stomping out to find her.

"Hey Snow!" Ted turned to face her. "You want to go out on a date sometime?"

Snows eyes grew wide, but she didn't turn to face him. A blush burned at her cheeks and she felt her heart drumming in her chest so hard she was sure Ted could hear it. This feeling, it was better than anything the pole vault could give. Her feet weren't even off the ground and she felt like she was floating along with the clouds. But it didn't matter what she felt, what she thought.

"No." She growled and raced off, the two eyes on her were like daggers in her back. Ted watched her race away caught off guard by the chill in her voice. He took a step to follow her but was stopped by a voice.

"Where do you think your going?" Ted grit his teeth at the emotionless voice, turning his head to look at a tall black wolf in a similar outfit. "The team will be out soon, go set up the equipment over there"

"Ya whatever Damien." He said and turned to field.

"That's team captain to you." He growled, his eyes narrowing on the bear in front of him. "Especially to you." Ted clenched his teeth to keep the remark from leaving his mouth, he cast a glare over his shoulder at the wolf before departing.

Tossing her book bag on the bar in the kitchen she continued onto her room. The track meet had been rescheduled since the football team had asked to have the field that day. Meaning she had almost come face to face with him, which probably wouldn't have ended well.

She knew him only by name and description, but from what she had been told upon seeing him you knew who he was. The Alphas son, Damien, a dangerous and deadly member of the Blackblood's. Even more dangerous since he wanted her, her skills.

And that was what no one knew about her other than a selected few. She was an assassin, a good one too. So good two of the most powerful gangs of the mafia were at war for her, The Blackblood's and The Crimson. Only Izzy, Marc, and Ronyee knew about her.

Izzy was the daughter of the Crimson leader and was sworn enemy's with the Blackblood's leaders son Damien. Marc was a thug and had some little gang before Izzy. But joined the Crimson upon meeting Izzy, swearing loyalty to her father and her. Ronyee wasn't a member of the Crimsons but was sponsored by them in her races. The leader of the Crimsons met Ronyee through Izzy and saw how good she was and places his bets on her in her races. Because of this the Blackblood's see her as a problem because she is so close to the Crimsons and try to force her to swear loyalty or destroy her at every turn.

Snow on the other hand will not swear loyalty to any gang, choosing to follow in her real parents footsteps instead. Being a assassin for hire has its perks, and her adoptive parents (her real parents best friends) don't know so she's happy.

Stepping into the shower she washed clean the sweat from her fur; the jog from school much longer than the car ride Ronyee had offered, which she refused. The hot water soaking into her fur, her spots becoming more defined when the fur didn't freely move. The two above her eyes the darkest of them all. The beauty of them only enhancing the sparkling green gems of her eyes. She washed away the sweat and grime and closed her eyes when images invaded her mind, sweat and grime were not the worst she had washed off her body. She shivered under the hot water, her heart growing heavy and cold at the memories.

Shutting off the water she shook free the excess before stepping out. Snow then pushed the button and stepped into the capsule in the wall next to the shower. Closing the door of the capsule behind her she spread her arms as the whir of the fur dryers started. Her wet fur and hair took flight in the warm air, purring she felt her muscles relax. Once done Snow stepped out of the body dryer, a big fluff of fur.

Grabbing a brush on her way out she headed for her room. Smoothing out her fur with the wiry bristles, she continued to her closet. Once inside she grabbed the black satin sleeping gown given to her by an ex, after slipping it on she proceeded to brush out her hair. Silky strands brushed thoroughly, she turned out the lights and crawled into bed.

Closing her eyes she was prepared to welcome the cozy darkness, bright blue eyes peering back at her. With shock she sat up eyes wide, looking around she remembered she was alone. Letting out a breathe she lay back and closed her eyes and this time welcomed the images and feelings that enveloped her. Was this weird? She knew she couldn't be with the handsome bear, but that didn't mean that behind closed doors she couldn't undress him with her eyes.

Yep there was something severely wrong with this, but at the thought of Ted shirtless she really didn't care.
