#9 of Transcender: Dran

I think even 'better late than never' fails to cut it here...

The size of my deleted scenes folder actually doubled with this installment, there were so many variations. In the end, I just grabbed the ones that made sense and mashed them together to make this. Enjoy.

Dran and Mist - Chapter Nine

Lance: On the wings of a dream, I escape this faux reality.

London spread out into the distance, the sections of cramped urban housing contrasting to the wide redevelopment projects along the Thames, the horizon broken by innumeral tower blocks and the ever famous Big Ben. This late in the afternoon, in a sky devoid of cloud and rain, the sun glowed amber, casting long shadows from the towering buildings, forcing the roofs to glitter and reflecting in the eyes of those leaning against the railings of the cruise liner. A picture perfect view of the capital was an unexpected finale for the trip, the ship slowing as it reached a docking port along the river. The white of the structure bore a strange opposition to the greys and browns of the place, something seemingly more suited to exotic pursuits an intruder in this urban area. Dran couldn't stop smiling, in spite of all that had happened since his arrival on this world. "It's just like home..."

Mist brushed up against his arm, staring out to all directions. The japanese city had been huge but so orderly, whereas this place seemed so haphazard, untamed. She heard the sound of sirens in the distance and huddled against her tamer, "You lived in a place like this?"

Dran rose his arm, pointing along the waterfront before trailing upwards to one of the more recent redevelopments. The area besides the river had been flattened, a steel and glass building rising, leading on to a series of streets that was undoubtedly a campus. A sign was illegible from this distance, "Not far from the New London University over there... An orphanage just beyond those streets."

"Orphanage?"

"It's a place where they send children without parents..." He sighed, his good humour abandoning him for a few moments yet he still determined to keep nothing from his mate. "My bastard of a father ran off before I was born... And my mom died having me. I had nobody in the whole world until Arc discovered me."

She huddled closer, her fur stirred faintly by the wind, "You've got me now." She leaned her head against his arm.

Haze chuckled, downing the remainder of his cocktail before poking the Angewomon beside him in the ribs. He pointed to the tier of railing below them, their presence unknown to the two surrounded by the incoming tourists. "Awww... Don't the couple look so cute?"

He received a dead arm in return, "You can shut up, I still havn't forgiven you for running off without telling me and almost dying-"

He staggered, notably slightly beyond tipsy as he interrupted her, "So she does care about me!" He leaned in close, "I wuv you too, kitty cat." He fell past her, tripping and landing in a heap before quickly standing to check if anyone had noticed, failing to see the blush that his sentament had caused.

Xak winced as he watched an almost comicly angry Angewomon start laying beats onto the downed Haze. "That's gotta hurt..." From his distance he had missed the conversation yet he had a vague idea. The cruise, or what was left of it had been a welcome break for all of them, even if it was a mere interlude between the war against Cross and the Bio-Angels. On his lower tier he took a step towards the renamon and her tamer however his course rapidly changed as he noted Lance leaning against the railings looking almost forlorn. He moved over, nudging him as a greeting, "Thanks for saving me and Haze..."

He shook his head in dismissal, having maintained very much a 'float on' sort of attitude that most left behind the the college dorms. He shot a wink at a passing girl, gaining a grin in return, *Hell, he's always acted this way, I swear, a little modesty wouldn't hurt every now and again...* The man sighed, Lance's blond curls blowing in the wind, "Don't worry about it... I'd be more bothered about what we're going to find here."

Understanding flashed across his face. The last contact that they had with the area stated that the Valiant had docked briefly to let off a passenger. A female. Alder. He couldn't help but smile as he imagined the reaction, "Alder is gonna kick your ass all the way back to the digital world - I can't believe you just left her hanging like that; it took a lot of courage for her to tell you how she feels about you..."

"I know, Jase..." He slumped, "The four of us have our little adventure and now... Hell, we only just finished cleaning up the mess eighteen months ago and its like we're all-" He struggled for a word, "Adults."

Xak was silent for a few moments, attempting to divine a suitable answer, a hand on his shoulder however removed the trouble. "Hey Xak... We're off to headquarters as soon as we finish docking right?"

He turned to face Dran, glancing between him and the renamon. Something tugged at his heart as he watched them exchange a look. They were somehow so alike to himself and Ren, yet maybe his presumptions were getting the best of him? Maybe not. "Tell you what... Me, Haze and Trine will call into HQ, recover orders and debrief. Why don't you show Mist the sights?"

The renamons face brightened somewhat, "You can do that? Doesn't Dran have to be there?"

"Well... As a Transcender, I'm only interloping this dimension so I work semi-independent of HQ." He looked for confirmation, receiving a nod from Xak and the man besides him.

"By all means, enjoy yourselves..." He smilled as they moved on yet this swiftly faded to a sigh.

"Missing Ren, huh? I don't see why you didn't bring her with you... Get the old team back together." Lance turned away. "Why didn't you tell him about me?"

Xak took a place beside his friend, staring at the distant sun, the amber failing to blind him, "Things would get complicated if he knew that you too are a Transcender..."

*****

Clouds of black and purple obscured the heavens, the moon a lone beacon of silver in this sea of darkness. The building was immense, a trio of what bordered on skyscrapers, the goliath structures jet in colour, clustered in a small area. Far below, an entranceway could be glimpsed, a garden filling the space between the towers, a perfect equalateral triangle of greenery within their borders. Lights shone from their windows, yet many were obscured, blocked by the great symbol of the three arcs and by the curtains of many who had turned in for the night. Connecting the towers, three arial skywalks bridged the gap at third up heights. They seemed to be made completely of glass, yet steel girders clearly supported them, a combination of downlights and floor lighting illuminating those who passed through them. Haze shivered, reguardless of the warmth of a summers night, being this high up clearly made the renamon uncomfortable. He threw an empty can of John Smiths bitter into the abyss, "I don't see why she got so emotional... I only apologised for saying that I liked her on the ship - I did right... Right?"

Lance pushed off the wall, taking a few steps forwards before crouching beside him. The soft wind ruffled his hair and he allowed his hand to drop from his face. The tab of his beer hissed as it was pulled and as he turned his cheek became visable; missing the cooling effect of the can, a hand shaped bruise of red and black showed. "She likes you."

"Trine? We're friends. We screw. That's it." He stared downwards, "Nothing more."

He took a long drought, "Aye - But what does she think?"

Haze had retrieved another can, tossing it from hand to hand as his gaze followed a few people walking beyond the complex. "I'm not ready for a mate." He looked up, "You can't say much - Xak already filled me in on your exploits... A girl tells you that she loves you and you run off to another continent? Madness."

He sighed. "I had my reasons." The man clutched his right wrist for a few moments, his expression almost sad. "It is indeed a grim day for romance. You and the cat argue. Alder gives me a bitch slap I'll never forget. Jase didn't even bring Ren."

Behind him, another pushed off the wall, clad in the same grey company jumpsuit as Lance. He shook his head and finished his can, "I'm drinking with a lovestruck frat boy and a guy who can't even spell 'responsibility' let alone preach on it..." Xak took a few steps forwards, balancing on the edge of the building. "Have fun kids. I'll be back in the morning." The renamon started as he dove forwards. He fell downwards silently, windows flashing past him, yet he could care less about what lay within. A sound rang out through the night, a dull echoing clang, a perfect shift as he avoided the pavement and dissapeared.

"Since when can Xak shift like that!?"

"I've not seen it since we re-sealed his inner Bio-Angel..." He seemed happy for the subject switch.

"I'm terrible at it."

"Shift creates a vacuum before the man and a compression behind, being part B.A enhanced the ability. Of course, its not a patch on the renamons natural teleport and flight capabilities but..." He rose an eyebrow, "When you debriefed, you said that you used it in your battles...?"

"It was Joyeuse. Not me. Hell, I can't fly, I've never been able to teleport..." A raindrop struck his face, several more falling about him as the heavens opened for a downpour.

"I've missed unpredictable English weather the most... Lets go to the pub."

Dran chuckled, spinning a quick three sixty infront of the mirror, attempting to look over his shoulder to see his back as he did so. He hadn't worn a company jumpsuit since he left the Nexus and though he hated to admit it, he enjoyed wearing the grey uniform. Their hosts certainly had outdone themselves, the suite had been designed for visiting transcenders, however, other than Arc, the place had received very few people. Through the reflection, he could see the room behind him, white and aquamarine blending softly across the walls, huge windows looking out over the parallel of his home town, now battered by rain. Two large beds took a side of the room, already made up for them. At least one would find use. He closed the wardrobe, stepping back and turning to face his mate. Mist smiled up at him from the edge of the bed; he had ensured her a little more than just the sights, having taken her around every romantic spot that he knew, it was good to finally be able to enjoy time with his mate without worrying about what was coming next. Though they had attracted quite a few odd looks when out together, something that Haze had warned them about, "Thanks for tonight... It has been wonderful."

He moved forwards, "It's not over yet." His motion was swift enough, yet his heart ached. *Love. Unrequited bliss. Constant agony.* All tension left her as she leaned back, a hand about the back of her head, pulling her close, another at her back. The renamon's eyes were all to easy to read, closing as they kissed, a mirror of his own feelings. He moved with perfect finese, detirmined not to be outdone by Trine as his attentions became light, soft caresses.

A light move broke their connection, Dran pushing her back to lie on the king size, crawling up her body to place his lips about a breast, the hand that wasn't supporting him trailing her thighs. Her groans encouraged him as he took things slowly, allowing a single finger to skim her rapidly moistening cunt. The response from this alone seemed electric, the renamon calling out and further spreading her legs. He couldn't quite help himself, breaking off his support to place both hands on her inner thighs, pulling himself down the bed until his mates sex lay before him. He set about his task with his usual enthousiasm, allowing himself a long teasing lick along the clit before pulling closer, flicking his tongue across her. Mist moaned softly, the waves of pleasure inspired by the human were already beginning to take effect: unable to resist, she gyrated her hips slightly to meet his motion. Detirmined to hold nothing back, Dran let a hand slowly drift from its prior anchorage, extending a finger before allowing it to sink into her, working softly as he teased her clit. His motions began to counter hers as she tried to buck her hips, desperately attempting to pull him deeper, her moans punctured by each thrust. The action that finally sent her over the edge was an odd one, the sensation of a finger, covered in her own cum, sliding into her tail hole. Her animalistic nature was revealed in orgasm, body spasming as she let out a howl more worthy of a wolf than digi-fox. Dran smirked, licking his cheek before drawing close to clean her.

Slowly, the renamon disengaged him, much to the mans dissapointment. Mist shuffled forwards onto the bed, inspiring more surprise than anything as she locked herself down into all fours. The renamons tail swayed slightly before it rose as she displayed her submission. "Please... Use me..."

*Sweet jebus...* Simply seeing her like this was driving him nuts, the overwhelming need of his mate clear from the quiver in her voice, the look in her eyes, the dampness between her legs. He couldn't help but try and toy with her a little, sliding his clothing off almost agonisingly slowly as he denied her what she craved. What bordered on a growl of impatience spurred him into action as he discarded his boxers; his shaft bobbing free of its fabric prison, eight inches of meat pointing towards her like a compass needle. He closed his hand about his faux knot, guiding himself to the renamon as he hefted himself up onto the bed. The lips of her sex were glistening, Dran allowed one final view before leaning over her, his tip breaking the folds, spreading as his thickness tested her as it always did. His chest pinned her tail to her back, her claws dug furrows into the matress, a strange gurgling moan of pleasure forcing a grin onto the mans face as he began to withdraw from his fox. He paused midway, teasing her as she tried to shuffle back onto his meat, his break in motion however was brief, a small interlude before he buried himself into heaven once more.

His movements began slow and constant, an odd contrast to the feverish motion of the renamon beneath him as she forced him to increase in speed. His gasps began to mirror hers, some instinct taking over as his jaws closed on the back of her neck, his movements became more brutal, the rough treatment that the renamon wished for now finally delivered. He could feel himself getting closer yet refused to give in, the soft squeezing sensation of what must have been her third orgasm failing to send him over the edge. Mist's energy was depleted, no longer able to keep up with his pounding she wimpered as he gave a final thrust, burying himself to the hilt as his seed spilled into the creature below him.

His breaths were slow and deep as he attempted to regain some form of control. His body felt sluggish and heavy, tired after his commital as he noted that his mate was already unconscious; thighs matted with cum, more leaking from her abused sex as he removed himself. He smiled, falling back onto the bed before pulling up a sheet.

A knock rang out from the door, the mans heart skipping a beat. "Oh shit..." He moved as swiftly as he could in his daze, throwing a sheet over Mist before attempting to put some trousers on. "Just a minute!" He pulled the doorway open, praying that whoever it was failed to notice the sheen of sweat covering him, the smell of sex or the fact that his trousers were on back to front. "Trine? What are you doing out so late?" He was silent for a few seconds as his eyes drifted up the angewomon... "Are you all right?"

Xak timed his movement perfectly, his wings giving one final sweep before locking together, forcing him into a forwards ariel roll before he landed. The sand met his impact with a soft thud, momentum dropping him to a knee. He remained still for a few moments, closing his eyes, listening to the sounds of the waves gently lapping against the beach shore. With a slow, fluid motion, he got to his feet, the black raven-like wings that marked him as one who had been bound to a Bio-Angel fading into transparancy before dissappearing completely. A few lone feathers of jet were carried away by the faint breeze. His eyes opened and he stared out over the sea. The moon had yet to fully wax, a shard of black covering its edge as it shone from a star spotted sky of deep and dark blue. The image was reflected in the sea, a second horizon before it met the silver sands of the shoreline. He strode forwards until the waves began to wash over his feet, cool against a humid summer night, soaking into the legs of tanned cargo pants; the only clothing that he wore. His hair was beginning to grow out, threatening to overwhelm the black seal against the back of his neck. He had flown far in just a few hours, a constant ariel shift allowing him speed enough to reach the south of France. He span a one-eighty, staring along rocky cliffs before allowing his gaze to drift back to the water. It felt strange to be back at the beginning, standing in the spot of an old confession and the start of his last adventure. Something had pulled at his heart, calling him here, some sentimentality perhaps pulling him back. He sighed; the majority of his abilities had returned, ever since his seal was broken they had been coming back: His control over the instincts that drove the creature within were gradually improving. The man's voice was a whisper, "Ren..."

"Staring at the heavens and whispering her name will change nothing." It was inconcievable how he had gotten so close, a figure right beside him, lit by delicate moonlight. His features were shrouded by a large black cloak, a hood pulled forwards, not a shred of skin visable. The voice was deep, strong and steadfast, drifting on the night air from a source in the shadows of the veil. Xak dropped into a combat posture almost instinctfully yet the man rose gloved hands, showing that he ment no harm before turning slightly to display the Tripple-Arc insignia laced in grey on the garments back.

"What do you want?" He couldn't help but eminate aggression, a pleasant memory of better times with his mate broken by some lone human. "How do you know about Ren?"

His questions were ignored, "Project Bio-Angel was launched three years ago, Nexus time." The hood turned to survey the stars, "Seventy-four Transcenders and eight LastBreath employees with compatable sypher were chosen for the program... Four died during surgery, thirty-two lost control, losing their minds to the creature within... And thirty more defected to Cross... Of the remaining sixteen, only two are left alive... Dran Kitsune and Jason Xakrious."

He had failed to break the mans monologue, the details of the project that had made him were a closely guarded secret, even to those who were subject to it. "Who the hell are you?"

"You are needed, Jason Xakrious." He turned away, "This world needs you again."

Xak reached out, making to grab a shoulder, "Don't turn your back on-" He moved so swiftly that his movement couldn't be discerned even by one with regained shift abilitied like his, the figure simply seeming to just vanish.

The voice came from his other side, "Do not despair. She won't forgive you if you give up now." He wheeled around once more to face the stranger as something splashed at his feet, long and wrapped in black cloth. It was horificly familiar. A hand gripped his arm with surprising strength, a vice-like hold pinning him as he retrieved the object, "Give Dran Kitsune my reguards." Black ebbed at the corners of his vision before a void closed about him, eyes closed as the world became dark.

The cloak fell away and a man stared at the horizon. He sighed, "It is unfortunate... But this is the way that it has to be."

"Arc! Hey, Arc!" A vixen was running across the beach, Akra sprinting on all fours, "Come on! Tone is waiting for us at the Valiant..."

To be honest, i'm not 100 percent happy with the way that this turned out... Still, if I didn't stop deleting and rewriting soon then i'd go crazy. Please rate, comment, and thanks to all who have on my prior works. Cheers for reading.
