This is the next chapter of my series. Somewhere in my brain I decided that this would NOT be the last chapter. Gees, what's wrong with me, always adding chapters on like a mad thing. But anyway...yea. I don't think you'll find sex in this one, but there is gayness, rest assured.

Chapter 20: The calm before the storm.
"David?"
"Hmm?" David turned around to face Alex in the forest they had taken occupancy in.
"...Do you think we could put off the revenge for a little while?" Alex said with a frowning face. He was seated at the bottom of a tree trunk.
David, who was staring at the sky before, padded over to his mate and sat beside him, sliding an arm around Alex's neck "Why?" he asked concerned.
"...I want to see our friends again before we go" Alex looked down, snaking his tail around his waist.
Another tail snaked around his waist, belonging to David "Hon, I understand wanting to see our family and friends as much as you do, but...we can't risk it."
"Yes, we can" Alex turned his head to look seriously at his lover.
"Alex, don't be difficult..."
"David, don't be heartless"
There was a brief pause in the air; there was no wind around them. Their surroundings were peace and serene. Forest sounds echoed around them continuously and it wouldn't be such a bad place to have a picnic or something. Happy thoughts were not in the minds of the two supernatural beings though.
"Alex-" but David was cut off "David, I really want to see them. I don't care if those stupid idiots come for us. We'll beat the shit out of them and protect our family at the same time. Please hun, you just got to understand. My mom and dad must be worried sick and your parents must be the same." The mouse looked down "I don't want my parents to have a fit over me and we can still hide our energy signatures for a little while...pleeeaasee?"
And then Alex did something no being on that or any planet could say no to. He looked cute...so very cute...even cuter than he already was without it. Pouting his lips slightly and leaning against the other male childishly with his paws obediently in his lap. A soft infant whine came from him.
David flinched, gazing endlessly at his beautifully cute mate. His resistance force crumbled fast and melted to nothing. With a sigh, he gave in "Fine...Damn. Why'd you have to be the cutest damn thing in the whole god damned universe?"
"So I can manipulate you to do my bidding, of course," Alex said in a simplistic voice. The black and white furred mouse smiled innocently "That's what mice are for, seduction."
"So what are bat's for?"
"Looking like bad boys and drop dead gorgeous at the same"
"Ahh, so that's my purpose in life huh?" David said with a soft chuckle as he pulled Alex into his lap.
"Uh-huh, now kiss me you fool" Alex said, tightly wrapping his arms around David's waist.
"As you command my dear cute seducing mate." David smiled with a boyish charm and pressed his lips against Alex's, licking the lips and waiting for entrance. And he got it; Alex opened his maw wide for dancing tongues to tango.
For a moment, it seemed as though life's troubles just flew away with an invisible force The bliss of the moment made both forget they were supernatural, being hunted down and deprived of their acquaintances' presence. No trouble could break the mood in which they shared showing their affection for one another. Their tongues twisted around the other in the passionate yet gentle make out, rubbing vigorously against its partner with glee.
But true bliss never lasts, no matter how much you want it to. Such a thing can never be obtained; the world was not physically and emotionally fashioned that way. The lover's kiss broke, but the gaze remained.
Alex cuddled deeper into his mate's strong warm embrace, never wanting to leave it and squeaked in a mouse like way, followed by a deep murring. David was happy to serve Alex's source of comfort and kissed the top of the mouse's head while scratching at his spine.
"I love you," the bat whispered.
"I love you too," The mouse whispered back, and as an after though, he added, "We'll go around midday, ok?"
"...Yes my love...whatever makes you happy, is fine with me"

Serene stood in front of the stove she had stood in front of millions of times before. Normally this was accompanied with a humming or a song of sorts. But no, not today. Today, she did it with a glum look on her muzzle, preparing something for her to eat. Soon the task was done, and she padded in the quiet house to the table, setting the little dish on it.
She was on compassionate leave. She had tried to go to work, but she couldn't focus enough, and her manager asked why. She told him, and he told that she needed time off to deal with it properly. So there she was, getting ready to eat at lunchtime.
For some reason, something made her shout "Alex! Lunch is ready!" up the stairs. A soft smile came to her face, mental making fun of herself for her pathetic shout that would most certainly go in vain.
'Great, next thing you know I'll go psycho from the pressure and end up in a straight jacket.' She though to herself
"Ok Mom!" a familiar voice shouted back from above.
"Hurry, or it wi-" she blinked

Wait just one darn minute
What?
What??
WHAT?!
Was she going to be hearing things too? She could have sworn she had just heard her son's voice coming from upstairs.
'But that's not possibal...' she mentally scowled herself 'Its just my imagination. Yes, That's it. Its my weak fragile mind playing tricks with me.'
But then she heard padding. Two sets of padding feet walking their way around the upstairs of the house...was she still hearing things? She froze, rooted to the spot.
....
And could only gape as her son appeared from around a corner and padded down the stairs, followed by his bat boyfriend.
"Hey, theres only one plate mom, why'd you call me down if you didn't make enough for all of us" Alex smiled normally at his mother, like nothing had gone wrong, like he had never gone missing and he was with her all that time, all through the past week.
It was too much for Serene, she couldn't move.
"Mom?"
...No response was made
"Mom? Mom? Are you ok?"
...Still nothing
"What's wrong mom?"
...A long pause, a very long eerie pause, before eventually the woman felt the energy to speak once more
"Alex?" The female mouse spoke shaking
"Yes?"
"Alex, is it really you? Are you not just some figment of my imagination?' her voice was filled with uncertainty. With hope and dread for the answer coming.
"Last time I checked I'm real mom" Alex replied, smiling in that common way
The feeling returned to Serene, and she leaped forward, tightly squeezing Alex in a smothering maternal worthy hug "ALEX!"
Alex eeped with surprise, smiling wider and returning the hug as much as possible
"Alex! My baby! My beautiful baby boy!" and the tears fell once more
"Mom, you're embarrassing me..." Alex softly whined and glazed back at the forgotten David, who could only smirk back at him. A moment later he joined the hug from behind and nuzzled into his mate's neck.
"You're my beautiful baby boy too..." David whispered softly. The mouse blushed brightly, but he was stuck between two people who loved him. No way he was going to find a way to escape it.
Serene let go reluctantly, and just smiled at her son. Then the questions came...
"Where have you been? What happened at the wedding? Who were those men? When did you get back? Why were they after you" and she huffed softly as she asked the last one "Do you have any idea how much stress you two just put half of the nation through?"
Alex frowned apologetically "Sorry, mom...we'll explain later ok? Right now we just want to soak up the fact that we're home...Call everyone here, its better if we tell them all at once...and make it a surprise"
Again the elder female mouse hesitated, but she nodded. Not sure why it had to be a surprise but she was too happy to care about it. All that mattered was her son was same.
...
For the time being anyway...
Serene had barely been able to contain herself. She reverted from here gloomy mode back to her normal happy gleeful mode, hoping and skipping around the house cleaning like a house wife who enjoyed her work. Alex and David had gone back upstairs after they ate, hiding from the world in Alex's room for the rest of the day. What they talked about or did was beyond her, but that didn't matter either really.
She had to stop being so bubbly when her husband arrived home. She had to keep the secret after all. Why was still baffling her, but either way. The fact that she was hoping around the place like she had just won the lottery was too much of a give away.
She made a few phone calls and told her husband they were having a little meeting concerning the 'missing' ones. And everyone arrived one after the other. Sam, Jeff, Daren, Nicholas, Stephany, her lion boyfriend Terrence, David's brother Anthony and David's parents.
Almost everyone in the room, besides Anthony and Alex's parents, where in the other's laps. And Stef was the only young hetero couple in the room. Anthony just leaned against a wall trying to look cool. And thankfully, he was dressed.
Once everyone was present, and settled. The unavoidable came...
"So, has anyone had any luck?" Sam asked and looked around
Sad blank shifty faces answered his question.
"...Actually...I think I may be on to something" Serene remarked,
That got everyone's attention
"Well? What is it?" Daren asked kind of impatiently
"Its probably actually finding me" Alex said, his head popping into view from behind a wall, followed by the rest of his body
And so came the stares Alex had anticipated. And he stared back with a positive smile
"No 'welcome back'? Anyone?"
"ALEX!!!" They all shouted as one, and the mouse found himself in the embrace of his friends and family, all clambering to get to him and hug him. They took turns eventually since chaotic hugging didn't work and last Andre hugged his son heartily, tearing up a bit.
"Alex, I'd though I'd lost you" Andre choked out, wiping away his tears with a smile
Then the other unavoidable question came
"Where...is David?" David's blood father asked
"Present" the bat made his way into view
And almost the same thing, minus the stares, happened
"DAVID!" another chaotic hug fest took place. The room was increasingly getting more and more cheery by the passing second. David's dads also had a bit of a cry while they hugged their son. Half son for one of them.
Once again, questions took their grip of curiosity.
"Where were you guys?" Jeff asked
Alex sighed and scratched the back of his head "Look, guys, there really isn't anyway I can' cushion the blow for these pieces of information you're about to hear from us"
Sam grasped dramatically "You aren't coming out to us are you?"
That got a chuckle out of everyone in the room.
"No" Alex went on "We aren't sure who those guys at our wedding were, but I think all of you gathered that they wanted to hurt us, right?"
A nod from everyone
"So, I think its time we...or rather I explain why." Alex took a deep breath "Ok...Me and David are supernatural"
Some blank confused looks crossed the paths of the mouse's face
"Come again?" Nicholas asked
Alex sighed again, and started to grow his wings. They sprouted out from his back and transcended elegantly, glowing radiantly as an angel should. His fur turned completely white, shading out the black patches. A symbol of the sun formed on his neck and his golden eyes shone with a brilliant aura.
The people around him gaped, in awe of what they were seeing. A mouse had just grown wings right in front of their eyes. All were lost for words. All of it was just a little bit much to take in. Everything about it was not natural, but it just happened.
"I'm a demi-angel" Alex stated
It took a while before someone replied
"Ok...this is a 9.5 on the weirdness scale" Sam commented
Daren smiled supportively "You do look really pretty though"
Alex blushed "Thanks" People were started to get over the shock. Good sign
"Honey, you look so radiant" Serene smiled proudly at her son, only now noticing the eye colour change.
"You're half angel? That sounds pretty cool to me" Andre grinned "And fitting towards your personality"
Anthony turned to look at his brother, who nodded with a weak smile.
"Um, you'll have to note that I'm Alex's opposite" David spoke up.
Heads turned the bat's way "Huh? What are you then?" Daren asked
David let his wings grow, darker with red lines over the dividing sectors. His fur darkened completely into an onyx black and the top right hand corner of his face covered itself with a white mask, one hold for his eye. A symbol of a full moon split in two in a interesting way appeared on the same spot Alex had his symbol and his eyes gleamed like rubies.
David took a breath "I'm a demi-demon" he muttered clear enough to hear, but somewhat muffed
And a second after that was out his lips; Alex added "He's not evil, just in case anyone gets any ideas. He's still the same dude, just scarier looking with demon powers. It's actually really cool"
The company stared for a short while, then Andre remarked with a smirk "An angel marrying a demon? There's one for the books"
Alex chuckled softly and went to hug his mate for support "Well, now that that's out. I guess we can breath out now hon"
"This is still pretty weird" Stephany remarked "But its kinda cool, all that paranormal stuff exists huh?"
Alex nodded, but then blinked, and quickly shielded a space in the wall behind the couch.
BOOOM!
Had he not sensed it and hardened the air, the explosion could have hurt the others in the room, if not the flying pieces of wall did any damage as well. Everyone turned around in shock, half of them screamed with surprise and hid behind something, or someone. There in the new large hole that used to be wall stood men in the same uniform as Alex and David's wedding crashers.
"Target in sight" one of them said
"Wrong target" said Alex, and raises his paw. A bright light circled around the men, trapping them in its circumference.
"Banishment" The angel mouse muttered, the light burning blindingly till it dimmed altogether, taking the men with it.
David hopped outside, to many stunned faces of the neighbours. You would be too if your neighbour just had a hole blown clear through their living room and an evil looking thing jumped out later. The demon snapped his fingers, sending out a mental shockwave. The shockwaves washed over each 'victim' and erased their thought pattern for the past 5 minutes of what just happened, and David then teleported them back to their homes.
Hopping back inside, Alex got to work on the broken wall, a multicoloured line guided time itself around the wall, pressing an invisible rewind button as the wall placed itself back into place.
Alex smirked "That was easy"
David snickered "Too easy, especially for us"
Their guests where staring again.
"Make quite a team don't they?" David's blood father turned to his boyfriend "Don't you think Ivan?"
Ivan, the panther, nodded "Yea Will, they got teamwork working for them"
Alex sighed "Guys, its getting late...and we're leaving tomorrow again to get revenge"
Serene blinked in shock at her son "Your what!? You can't!"
Alex frowned with a sorry face at his mother "It has to be done mom, we can't just let them trample all over us. What if they try to use you to get to us?" he looked around "Nothing would hurt me and David more if they used one of you, anyone of you just to get us. We would never forgive ourselves for getting you in the crossfire. For now, David and me have something we have to do. And nothing any of you can say will stop us"
There was a pause in the air, an awkward silence. Somewhere thinking of a good enough reason. They had just returned after all, why were they leaving again?
"But..." Sam offered weakly "What if you two get hurt?"
"I can heal, and David's a hell of a lot tougher than mostly anything they can throw at us" Alex replied, "Please guys, we're leaving tomorrow to get back at them. You have to understand. Its not just for us, its for all of you. All of you should know that we couldn't live a normal life if they keep hunting the two of us down. Either we go down, or they do. Which one do you people pick?" Alex spoke with courage and determination, he didn't like it more than anyone else, but he had no choice in the matter.
No one answered. They all knew it was futile to try and stop the couple from doing something like that. I wasn't their life after all. None of them had the troubles the angel and demon were going through. They had nothing to say... they all just nodded one by one in understanding
"We're leaving tomorrow morning, if you guys want to see us off, your welcome to" David added, trying to give them a little comfort in their situation.
Will looked at Andre "Do you have a guest room?"
Andre nodded "Yes, why?"
Will looked at Ivan, who looked at Anthony and they all nodded at one another "If its ok, can we stay the night? David is probably going to stay over with Alex, and we want to be near him"
Andre nodded, sympathising for the other family, "We understand..."
Another akward pause...Then Sam suggested everyone who wasn't staying over should leave. And everyone agreed to that. With heavy hearts the friends said their goodbyes for the night and departed for their own homes, fearing for their supernatural friends' safety.
After that, the remaining in the house decided to have a 'family' moment. Technically if the marriage had gone thought, they would have been linked together. And they embraced that idea. They talked about things families would, sharing laughs and masking their discomfort with the joy of being in good company. Alex and David even went to tell their family how their powers worked to some extend.
But soon, it got too late. And after dragging an extra mattress up to guestroom for Anthony, everyone retired to bed. Or at least they tried to, but admittedly it was a while before some could find sleep.
Alex and David was no exception. They lay spooning each other in Alex's bed, trying to get some rest for the day ahead and the tragedy that waited for them the next day.
"Hon?" David whispered softly into the mouse's ear
"Hmm?" Alex whispered back
"Can you sleep?"
"No"
"Me either"
"Figures..."
"...Hon, I want you to know, now more than ever. That as long as I'm alive, I'm never letting you get hurt, no matter what. It probably sounds familier that I say that. But tomorrow we could get injured or die. WE don't know what these guys are capable of. All we know is their location and they hate us"
"Odds against us huh?"
"Yea"
"For the record David, I'm not going to let anything harm you either. This angel is protecting is mate, no matter what. If you die, I will die with you"
"..."
"..."
"I guess we just have to hope we really can handle it huh?"
"Yea..."
"..." The bat softly hummed
"Lets just think of the positives for now. The sooner we kick those idiots' butts, the sooner we can get married without interruption, and live together"
"Yea...you right. We won't die from this. I refuse to accept that. We will succeed tomorrow"
"Uh-huh"
"Love you my Beautiful angel" said David, twising Alex around and kissing him passionately.
"Love you too my reformed demon" said Alex after the kiss and rested his head neatly by his lover's neck
They snuggled closer together, and with comforted thoughts, drifted to sleep.

"Sir"
"Do you have news?"
"Yes sir, it appears our targets were pinpointed and an assault team was sent out for termination"
"And?"
"I beg your forgiveness my lord, but it was a failure"
"I see"
"But it appears the two targets are planning an attack on us"
"Do they know our location"
"I believe so."
"When?"
"It is not specified enough, but sometime tomorrow is the expected time of attack"
"Hmm...Let them come, we'll just fight back. And we have home base at our advantage. Have our men readied and rested for tomorrow. I want to make sure we terminate them this time."
"Yes my lord"
And that concludes chapter 20
Sorry I added a chapter before the revenge, but I thought it would be nice if a little family space were added before it.
