The Fate of Two Dragons
++Sorry it's been so long, between jobs and life in general it's been a very long time since I've been motivated enough to write. It took me a bit longer then usual but I still feel like I didn't do as well with this one as I should have. I guess I'm loseing my touch with writeing, been to enveloped with repairing computers and working probably. Inotamira Orani was a golden dragon, his eyes where a brilliant amethyst in color, his scales reflected the forest below him and the sky above as he flew lazily through the sky. The flaps on his head where flicking in and out trying to direct the sound into the ear holes on the side of his head. Inotamira had been looking for other dragons in the area to take refuge with during his travels.
So far the area appeared to be devoid of his kind, he called out hoping for a response but expecting none as every other time he called. The flaps flickered back and forth up and down, trying to pick up on even the tiniest bit of noise that could correlate with his own kind. Their was what souded like the faint call of another, Inotamira stopped and began moving in air tilting his head left and right trying to pin down the source. He called out again and the return came more quickly, the sound came from the north east near the beach in the distance.
Inotamira dove towards where the call flying at full speed calling out as loudly as he could the call being returned much more frequently as the figure of another dragon rose from the edge of the forest near the beach. Inota reached the other figure and was shocked to find he was looking at a black dragon, black dragons where usually one of the more aggressive and secluded races of his kind. The black dragon slowly drifted back down to the ground and Inotamira followed still puzzled by the others apperence.
As they landed the other walked into an underground cave not turning to see if Inota followed. Inota trotted along behind him as it was clear this was a rather deep and intricate tunnel that went quite a ways down. As they descended Inotamira noted a number of tunnels that branched off to other rooms that held many items, judging by the smell, some had food, some precious jewels and minerals, one had an underground pool of fresh water, and others had odd smells that could only be described as human in nature.
It was clear that the dragon Inotamira had found was in some form of trade with a near by human village, this was odder still as almost any black dragon he had met wouldn't be caught dead with humans. Inotamira was just beginning to scent out this peculiar dragon when they came to a large natural cavern that had been smoothed out in many areas. It glistened as the vast majority of the cavern was multiple formations of crystals and gems of all kinds.
"Wow, this is beautiful," Inota said practically entranced by the place, he noted a rather large fireplace built into one of the walls that had an exhaust built it, most likely all the way to the surface. The fire shone off the floors in a brilliant way that was difficult to describe. The other chuckled at Inota's awestruck look a slight bit of pride reflected in his green eyes.
"I'm glad you like it, this place took me nearly 6 years to get this way and I'm still working on it. My name is Firehyphen, Fire for short. Yes, I am male though I don't think your snout had gotten that far yet since you where to busy with my storage caverns on the way down." Inotamira blushed slightly, Fire had been paying strict attention to his actions all the way down.
"My name is Inotamira, Ino or Inota if you like. This place is gorgeous, the care taken into it is remarkable." Fire nodded and walked Ino to the fireplace offering him to sit on a rather large pillow which Ino regarded as slightly odd.
"You're wondering why a black dragon has so many items that are clearly made by humans yes?" Inotamira nodded after a moment of thought, "Well yes, as far as I knew black dragons where very anti-social and despised almost every species and even race but their own." Fire laughed a little and trotted off back up to the tunnel that they had originally come down.
Inotamira looked at the large pillow as sniffed it curiously before patting it with his paw a few times, it was very soft. He curled up onto the pillow and laid down comfortable rurring softly as the muscles in his body relaxed. Inota watched the lights from the fire dance hypnoticly off the crystalline floor feeling himself almost beginning to drift off when he heard the other return.
"Sorry for the wait, had to get a few things." Indeed Fire did seem to have to get a few things, his arms where loaded with food, stacked on a tray with a bottle of what had to of been a wine with all that on top of another pillow stacked rather precariously as he walked over balancing it all with little effort as he placed the pillow down on the floor next to Ino. Fire set everything aside a tray now infront of Inota and another infront of Fire, between the two trays a much larger trays holding meats fruits and vegetables.
Fire filled two goblets with wine handing one to Inota which he took happily and sniffed before sipping, it was very sweet. "Take what you like, I warmed the meat back up before coming down using my fire." Inota smelled at the plate taking a wide variety of foods from the tray, "so how long have you been living here?"
Fire chuckled filling up his own plate taking a sip from the goblet, "Atleast 5 years now, I've been helping a near by village by providing them my skills in crafting metals, hunting, and many other things. Unlike most of my race I was raised outside the prideful mannerisms that make them more aggressive."
Inota thought about this as he ate and drank the both of them laying and dining quietly infront of the fireplace. After a while Inota decided to break the scilence, "So their aren't very many dragons in this area?" Fire shook his head looking a little sad about the question, "No, infact I haven't seen any of our kind since I came here."
Ino suddenly felt sad for Fire, even though he rarely went a day without running into his own kind, he knew what it was like to feel all alone. "It's not that the humans in the village don't keep me company and that I haven't been able to find a few to enjoy sexually. It's just very lonely when you don't see anyone who's like you."
Inotamira placed his tray down and got up from his pillow walking over to the other, he wrapped his fore paws around the other. Fire reached up and hugged Inota back sighing heavily, "It's been so long since I've been held by someone of my own kind...infact I don't think I ever have." Inota slowly let him go and smiled up at him, "Then I'm glad to be the first."
Fire smiled back and leaned forward pressing his muzzle to Inotas, they both blushed as their tongues pressed forward nuzzling as they kissed.
