Hey there everyone, I'm Latin Dragon, and this is the first part of my series, King's Blade. The story will take place on the fictional continent of Aurelia, where there are many nations inhabited by Humans, Furries, and other races. One race in particular, the Togruta, are from the Star Wars universe and I included them in my story because I felt that it would be a cool way to pay homage to such an amazing sci-fi franchise. So the Togruta race does not belong to me, and their creation is credited to George Lucas and everyone else who helped to make Star Wars. On a further note, this story will contain a gay relationship between two of the main characters. So if you have anything against it, please stop right here and don't read it, because this story is meant for the enjoyment of any reader, regardless of sexual orientation. This is the first story I have ever written and if you would like to comment on it, please do so, because I'm always looking to improve my writing. Now without further delay I give you King's Blade! :)

In the beginning there were no lands, no sky, no horizon, there was no life. There was only the deep, endless depths of the seas. And within those depths lived but one being, Amora. Where she came from and how she came to be are unknown, her origins lost to the tides of time. However, what is known about her was that she felt alone in the eternal darkness. She longed for a world filled with color and the beauty of life.

One day Amora decided she had had enough of such a desolate existence and willed with all her heart to find a way to break the silence. Within an instant she had enveloped herself within a halo of bright light and had awakened her inner power. The light became so blindingly bright, that it was said to burn with the fury of a thousand suns. Daring not to look, for fear of this unknown power, she could still feel her body, mind, and soul being lifted to an unknown plane.

An unkown sensation was felt when she finally broke the surface of the ocean. She could hear the splashing of water from where she had surfaced and feel a cool breeze blow against her wet cheek. Amora slowly opened her eye lids to more darkness.

At first she felt disappointed because she didn't escape her solitude only to be met with yet another barren realm. For some time she pondered on her own existance. She wondered why she was here, what was her purpose, would she be doomed to an eternity in the shadows?

While in her state of contemplation, she began to notice the differences between where she was now and where she had been before. The sounds of the ocean waves were tranquil to her ears. The fragrance of the seabreeze was appealing to her nose. The wind fanning her wet form was also pleasant. All these new and wonderful sensations finally made Amora realize that she wasn't truly lost. She now knew what she had to do.

Summoning her new-found power, she saw the source of the light for the first time that had illuminated her spirit. A pair of newly formed angelic wings that glowed with a bright golden hue. Her wings were so majestic, each feather shined with unparalled radiance. Seeing the light eluminating from her wings made her want to bring such brilliance for all the world to enjoy. She commanded the sun to rise  during the day so it would allow living things to be able see and do what was necessary to live. But she also knew the darkness was important for it would allow for a time of rest and renewal.

She ordered the sun to set at the end of the day so it would allow the night to commence. The black of night still reminded her of her time in the void. She created the moon and the stars so there would be enough light to comfort those who sleep at night, but not enough as to disturb their slumber. The next day she saw that there was no way of telling of what was up or down. So she divided the sea and sky with the horizon.

The sky was soon filled with clouds to provide shade and rain. But something still troubled Amora. She saw how life needed a place to live and grow, someplace dry. She raised the land from the seas and named the new continent Aurelia. On the new land she erected mountains and carved rivers and lakes. She created new and diverse geography for which new forms of life could explore. From here she began to create new forms of life. As time passed the biodiversity of life-forms became rich and diverse. There were all kinds of creatures, from the smallest bacteria to the largest animal.

There were all types of life, each with their own niche in nature, and they were widespread. Amora had filled the land with plants to breathe a constant flow of air into the atmosphere for the animals to breathe. The land was filled with animals, large and small, that ate the vegetation, and in some cases each other, for sustinance. Birds and other creatures flew in the skies, while there were many fish and other species of organisms that swam in the seas and other bodies of water. Life came in any form imaginable and practically lived in every ecosystem that could support it. From the highest, oxygen deprived mountain peak to the deepest, pressure grinding oceanic trench, life could be found there. Life went through the phases of birth to death, as she saw natural as the seasons. Everything went on living from the moment of its conceivement, living through its natural cycle, until their soul descends upon to the next plane of existance. However with every death, there was something born new into this world. Spring brought renewal of life, summer breathed this esscence, fall slowed the progression, and winter brought it to a silent stillness of white, until it began all over again and so forth.

One aspect she had not taken into account was a spontaneous process that took place over time in which organisms metamorphosed from one form to another, evolution. Before long there were species of intelligent races that could think, feel emotion, and speak what was in their hearts. Surprised by these turn of events, instead of being apprehensive about this unknown factor, she embraced these beings and taught them right from wrong. She gave them knowledge, from the essential of building tools to create towns and cities, to the philosophy of questioning their place in the universe. Amora helped them to understand the nobility of emotions such as sorrow, pain, and joy. As well as helped them to gain willpower, to believe in what was right, to challenge fate, to never give up hope, and to have the courage to take on the difficulties of life to move forward.

When she felt she taught her people all she could, Amora decided to continue to watch over Aurelia and it's people as their sovereign guardian and benevolent protector. The races of Aurelia, whether they be from the Beast Tribes or from the Humanoid Kingdoms, lived together in harmony, respected and loved one another, and revered Amora as their one true goddess. From that day forward she became known as Amora, The Goddess of Creation. The Dragon Tribe helped to build the Palace of Dreams from which Amora could watch over the Continent in her castle in the heavens above. This age of peace and prosperity came to be known as the Golden Age. Disastrously, this age of happiness and equality was not too last, for within the next few centuries a new threat was soon to reach the shores of the Aurelian peninsula.

The Aurelian Golden Age came to an end when a new race landed on the shores of Aurelia, Humans. They came from a far-off land in the West to seek a new realm to conquer. The races of Aurelia welcomed the new arrivals with open arms and sought to accept them into their lands. The Humans however, were not interested in peace and saw the rest of the native people as filth that was beneath them. In due time, the Humans began to conquer the land bit by bit, enslaving the native races as their labor force in which they were to build their glorious cities. The enslaved were met with harsh treatment and heavily discriminated against. They lived in agony and torture. Those who could not withstand these conditions were soon executed for their incompetence. They were considered the lucky ones for those who survived long enough, found themselves broken and a shell of what they used to be.

The Aurelians were horrified by the atrocities that were commited to their own people by the Humans, none more so than Amora herself. Seeing what was happening before her very eyes brought her to her knees, sobbing as she could feel their agony from the very core of her being. With determined resolution and the goddess Amora on their side, all the races of Aurelia banded together to fight the invaders. The Humans in turn also sought to eradicate this 'rebellion' against their empire. However, not all humans believed that their empire was in the right, and over a quarter of the Humans defected from the empire and sided with the Aurelians. This angered the majority of Humans that stayed loyal to their empire and declared them all traitors and sought to execute them as well.

The bloody conflicts that raged across over the entirety of the peninsula became known as the  Aurelian Wars. For the next one hundred years, Aurelia suffered within the shadow of death and decay like never before in its history. There were countless casualties suffered by both sides, the land was scarred with the horrors of war, and many of the races of Aurelia that fought in the campaigns were slain to extinction. Soon the newly formed Edeznian Empire would wipe out the remaining Aurelian races and their armies that fought to protect their people, goddess, and homeland.

Amora knew that what they needed most was a warrior who could lead the people to salvation. Her answer soon came in the form of a humbled and most respected fighter ever to rise from the ranks of the of the Dragon Tribe. He was known as Satoshi Tokugawa, a Gold Dragon warrior. He was large and muscled, his scales gleaming gold, eyes of crimson, well polished horns on his head and one on his snout. He wore magnificent crimson armor and had an aura that demanded the utmost respect. Despite these intimidating features, he was actually very kind and compassionate, but when everything he knew and loved was at risk at being annihilated, he fought with all his might.

The Goddess Amora bestowed upon him the Mark of Aurelia on his back. This mark would allow him to summon the power of the goddess herself in the form of golden wings that were reminiscent of her own. As her final gift for him, she gave him Aurelia's most powerful weapon, the King's Blade. A sword to said to have been forged within the cauldron of a volcano, made from the most durable material, and enhanced with the most powerful magic that mana could offer. The sword was created to the point of being indestructible, its sole purpose to be wielded by the most noble of beings to bring peace to all. With the blessing of Amora, and the King's Blade in hand, Satoshi set forth with the Aurelian Armada for the final battle to decide the future of the continent.

The Aurelian Armada met the Edeznian Empire at the border of their nation. With the King's Blade held high in the air for all to see, Satoshi Tokugawa roared his battle cry and charged with his army straight into the jaws of death. For seven days and seven nights, the campaign was fought straight through to the bitter end. The battle came to an end when Satoshi slew the final remaining enemy Human soldier. Raising his blade in victory, the surviving Aurelian soldiers cried with cheers of triumph. Satoshi was glad to see their victory assured. The Edeznian Empire was defeated, the enslaved were soon freed from oppresion, and they halted the enemy Humans' conquest of the land. But he was also saddened by the loss of life that had been seen throughout the wars. Both sides had suffered innumeralble deaths, none more so than Edeznia, but many of the races that once walked the surface Aurelia were wiped out of existance, leaving only a handful of them left. With all these events engraved in his heart, Satoshi sought to build a new world in which everyone, including Humans, could live in peace once again.

Satoshi delivered the King's Blade to Amora for safekeeping, hoping that never again would he or his descendants would have to use it's power again. The Hero of Aurelia, Satoshi Tokugawa, took some of his own people from the Dragon Tribe, and many others from all the other races, including some Humans who had sided with the Aurelians during the war, and established a new nation of equality known as Aurora in the northern most part of the land bridge that connected the Aurelian peninsula to the rest of the land mass that was unexplored.

While Aurora was founded on principles that were originally doctrined by Amora, the rest of  Aurelia was divided into different nations, because of the discrimination that was caused from the wars. The Edeznian Empire survived and was completely made up of Humans who hated the Aurelians and deserter Humans who had fought against them and left them in near ruin. Their nation was the largest so far, stretching from the Western Coast of the peninsula to the northeast, where a massive mountain range began that separated Aurelia from the rest of the unknown mainland. Just below Edeznia was the nation of Renacia, made up of Humans who wished to live in peace with the rest of the native Aurelians. Next to Renacia was the feline nation of Girnar. Girnar was home to the Cat, Tiger, and Lion Tribes. Bordering to the northeast of Girnar was Canis, the nation of the Wolf Tribe. Canis encircled a smaller nation known as Vulpine, home to the Fox Tribe. The Foxes and Wolves entered into a mutual pact that their nations would help one another due to a sense of kinship. To the north of Vulpine was Deinos, the nation of the Saurians, one of the few remaining ancient Beast races that survived the wars. Below Canis to the south were the Bird Tribe nations of Raptal and Corax. Raptal was inhabited by the Hawk Tribe, while Corax was inhabited by the Raven Tribe. Both tribes despised each other but both sought to protect the Heron Tribe nation of Ardea to the South of their borders. The Herons were a peaceful race and are easily afflicted by the wars. Bordering Deinos, Canis, Corax, and Ardea's eastern borders was the desert nation of Myria, inhabited by the hives of the Arthrolians, a race of insectoids. To the far north in the mountians, lies the nation of the united Dragon Tribe, Dracos. Dracos is home to the Red, White, Black and Gold Dragon Tribes. A smaller nation bordered by Dracos to the north, Edeznia and Aurora to the west, Deinos to the south, and Myria to the east is the Dwarf nation of Brima. This humanoid race mines the precious ores and gems in the mountains of Brima. A very small and desolate nation lies in the southeast, surrounded by the desert nation of Myria, known as Chiroptera. Chiroptera is home to the bloodthirsty race of Chiropterans, who are feared throughout Aurelia for their need to feed on the blood of other living beings from time to time in order to survive. South of Renacia, Girnar, and Raptal is the Elf nation of Alfein. The Elves live in the forests of Alfein, where their nation protects their close kin the Fairies. The Faeries nation of Etherea is a small nation that is protected by the larger Elf nation from the Humans. More southward of Etherea and Alfein lies the jungle nation of Guiana, which is home to race of strange humanoids known as the Togruta. The Togruta live in villages ruled by shamans and the species is very attuned with nature. Next to Guiana is the small

nation of Beorron that is home to the last pockets of Shifters, humanoids that are able to take on the form of animals. The last nation is not located on the peninsula but on a small island off the Southwestern Coast of Aurelia. The Sirens, a race of aquatic humanoids, made their home on the island nation of Anthemusa, wishing to stay close to the sea, and avoid further conflicts with the Humans.

Aurelia was now divided amongst the different nations and Amora was devastated by the after affects of the Aurelian Wars. Her people were divided and there were still tensions among the races. Knowing there was nothing she could do now she foresaw future events that were to come, with a final resolution to the Aurelian Wars that had no clear ending as to who would be victorious. Amora, the Goddess of Creation, went to sleep for a thousand years with this prophecy relayed to her people, that is now but known as legend and has fallen into the depths of myth and lore:

"I shall sleep for a thousand years, during which Aurelia will experience an era of a strained co-existance between the Edeznian Empire and the other nations. When the millenium has ended, Edeznia will once again seek total conquest of the continent. In an attempt to alter the fate of my people, a descendant of the Hero of Aurelia, a royal of the Aurorian throne, shall inherit the Mark of Aurelia. They shall travel across the land and surround themselves with other warriors who shall fight side by side for the same belief. That one day they will defeat the evil of Edeznia, end the war between the races, and bring true peace back to Aurelia, with the power of their friends, allies, and the King's Blade!"
