"Dark at night, everyone asleep, not a sound running threw the house apart from my own breathing. That silent rhythm as I inhale and exhale. With the added clatter of buttons I press on my phone to note down this story. It's a lucky escape.

To say the very least...

I've just got home from an exhausting gym battle, my eyes are heavy and as I lay my Pokéballs down on the side of my bed I think to myself 'I wonder what it'd be like, to y'know see a legend. A mystical beast that no trainer has laid eyes on.' And at that moment I pick up a specially designed Pokéball, red and black with ivory markings resembling that of a Houndoom. I release my most trustworthy companion. Dark Star, he's a fantastic partner and one I could never live without. Sadly, this is his final victory.

I gesture for him to sit and lay down, he listens and does as he was told. He's my watch dog, my protector, but more-so, Dark Star is my best friend.

Less than an hour later I'm sound asleep, however something disrupts my peace, I wake up to find Dark Star isn't at his usual post, laying by the entrance to my door. 'That's strange.' I think, manoeuvring out from my duvet and perching on the edge of my bed. Giving a sharp whistle, in a hope he responds.

Nothing. Nothing but silence.

Suddenly, I hear a yelp and a blaze of fire shoot up the stairs. 'Flamethrower!?' I exclaim under my breath, rather surprised. Before you'd even know it I was out of that bed and down the stairs, however, what I saw in front of my very own eyes, is something of a horror story.

I fell to the floor. Sobbing. Distraught.

I wanted to see a legend, but I didn't want this.

This creature, this... Thing, has just slaughtered my one true companion.

Now all that's left if the blooded up body, suspended in mid-air. Broken neck, dead eyes. The creature that has lead me to my final story, the creature that has murdered my one and only friend.
