During the Legend of Myer Brande and Miles Fiherick, there has been one main question that many have asked, "Who were the two Kits that were living on the orchard with the two and what was their fate?" This story will answer that question. The kits were two orphans in which had found their way to the orchard, Myer and Miles had named the two Silas and Vergil. The family lived a happy life for 5 years together until the day Jules Brande, Myer's father decided to take that away from the young two and killed both Myer and Miles. The two boys were picked up by Jules and wisked away to their new home, where they lived till the ripe age of 18. The two then were given a choice in which to train and hone their

skills in battle. Vergil, the silent one chose to train in Han-ma under the draconic barajuitsu master Meng. Silas trained with a local group of Paladins in which he nearly lost his life in one of his training sessions. Having been visited by Crescent Moon himself and being told the truths of his existance, he dedicated his life to trying to change Arca's mind on Tail Raising in Arca. The two trained for several more years and eventually mastering the respected styles at the age of 48, young concidering the average life expectancy in Arca is 120 years of age. Both sons returned to find their beloved father was murdered, with Vergil finding the corpse first. Silas forever blamed the murder on his father, claiming that Vergil knew something about their past that Silas had long forgotten due to his near death experience. Little did Silas know, but Vergil had seen the truth, years prior, in one of his meditation sessions, Vergil had a vision. He envisioned the death of the two young men who raised them for five years, the happiness, then followed by sorrow as their father brutily killed the two men. Vergil from that point forward never called himself a Brande from that day forward. This is the story of how the two got over their differences, discovered the truth, and worked together in order to defeat a common enemy.

The young Iaijutsu master stood in front of the tavern in which he knew his brother normally stayed at. He himself had frequented this inn and knew someday he'd have to face his brother someday. He held his katana in his hand and closed his eyes, gently brushing his hair back gently as he slowly walked into the bar. His article of clothing obviously fit into the area, wearing a fine red coat with blood red clothe pants tucked into black boots, and wearing a white button up shirt, he had his white hair pulled back into a ponytail similarly to the way Han-Manese would wear it, the ultimate mix of western and eastern styles. His eyes would scan the bar and would find familiar faces, the Panda bellhop, the snowfox tender, the cross dressing ram. He saw them all before, but a new face showed up that he hadn't seen since the death of their father. He was clad in a pure white armor with gold trimmings, his red hair flowed softly over his back with a pair of bangs over his eyes as he enjoyed his meal. The Iaijutsu master's eyes narrowed as he saw this figure. He would recognize this man as Silas, the man who claims he killed their father five years ago. He had vowed to not only find who truely killed their adoptive father, but release the truth to Silas so he could see the father he truely was, cruel and brutal, killing their original adoptive parents so long ago. The fox said nothing but walked over to his brother's table and sat down silently. As soon as Silas recognized who it was, he reached for the sword on his back, only to be met with the sheithed Katana on the young fox's arm, causing him to stop.

"Hold brother... I'm not here to fight... this is neutral ground and I merely want to talk," Vergil would say as Silas lowered his hand from the sword.

Silas looked at him wearily and sneered, "Why would I listen to you murderer? after you killled our Father so long ago?" he said angrily.

Vergil looked to him with no emotion and leaned forward, placing his katana on table, "You're eyes were always closed to your stupid optimism," he said calmly, "And how dare you call that man our father, haven't you realized by now he's not our Biological father."

Silas looked to his brother and blinked, "What do you mean Vergil?"

Vergil shook his head softly and then looked to him, "Have you not noticed the color of his fur clashed with ours? ours being red and his Grey?" he said softly.

Silas stood up and narrowed his eyes at his brother, "That's not true Vergil, what makes you think our mother wasn't a red fox?!" he said angrily.

Vergil looked up to him, not moving, "Have you ever heard Father say anything about us having a mother... remember how we'd ask about her and he would never tell us... he gave us half truths and lies... saying 'she's up with ellysia now' but he would never describe what she looked like or how she acted?"

Silas growled loudly and pulled Vergil by his shirt, "YOU TAKE THAT BACK MURDERER!!!!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs.

Vergil sighed gently and shook his head, "You always did have the worst temper Silas..." and with that, Vergil grabbed Silas' arm gently and pulled it off of his shirt, looking angrily at him, "Silas... our father, the man who claimed to be our father... he isn't what he seemed to be, he killed the original two people who were our parents..." he said as he released Silas' arm.

Silas stared at Vergil for a moment, his eyes wide with surprise, then his surprise turned to anger, "liar.... you are SUCH A LIAR VERGIL!!!!!" and with that, Silas quickly drew his sword to take a quick swipe.

Vergil quickly kicked the bottom of the table, causing his Katana to jump up as he quickly grabbed it and block Silas' attack with ease, keeping his cool and even temper.

"Silas..." Vergil began as he looked around, noticing everyone was staring at the two, he looked back to him, "You're causing a scene Silas... I'd suggest..."

Before Vergil could finish, Silas quickly pulled his sword away for another attack, "SHUT UP!!!!!!!!" Vergil sighed gently and quickly blocked the attack, causing Silas to loose his footing and stumble towards the door.

As he finally got his footing again, Vergil rammed his shoulder into Silas, causing him to tumble out of the Tavern as Vergil said, "If you're gonna cause a Scene... then we might as well take it OUTSIDE!!!!!!"

Outside, Silas slowly got to his feet and looked back as the young batajuitsu master walked out of the bar gently as he poped his neck gently, standing ready, "Honestly Silas... you know you always try to get the better of me but you know you can't beat me Silas..."

Silas quickly made another swipe as Vergil suddenly blocked again with his sheith, and in one quick movement, Vergil unsheithed his blade and held it to his own brother's neck, narrowing his eyes at him, "I didn't kill father... if I did, I wouldn't have come up to you peacefully... I would have killed you five years ago when you returned home Silas..."

Silas shook his head, "You're a Goddamned liar Vergil, and you always were!" Vergil then began loosing his cool as suddenly Vergil punched his brother square in the jaw, causing his brother to fall over on the ground.

"You want to fight Silas... ALRIGHT!!!! we'll fight for keeps My life for yours!" he yelled at his brother.

Before Silas could even get back up, Vergil then kicked Silas in the ribcage leaving a dent in his armor and breaking some bones. Silas stared at his young brother with awe, "Where... where'd you learn that?" he asked.

Vergil looked down to his helpless brother and narrowed his eyes, "Being trained in Han-Ma I was given a choice of what element to master as a Chi Manipulator and I chose Earth... Augmenting my strength and Stamina by TEN FOLDS!!!! now you see you cannot win Brother... what do you do now? Are you gonna continue this fight?! OR AM I GONNA HAVE TO KILL YOU!!!!!"

As he screamed that, Vergil sat on top of him and began a decent of the blade to his brother's face, coming within inches of piercing his eye, staring angrily at his brother. Suddenly, he heard a click from behind him as he eyed the figure to his side, narrowing his eyes. Sure enough, it was the tender, Vergil senced he was no mere Tender, there was something about him that was out of place, now it made sence as the snow fox held the gunblade to the fox's head.

"I think that's enough sir... make another move and I will blow your brains away..." he said calmly.

Vergil looked annoyingly to the snow fox and gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, "This concerns you not tender.... this is between me and my beloved brother..." he said softly.

The tender then clicked the gun part of his weapon readily as he held steady, "I'm not telling you this again... let him up Vergil... don't make me have to take another life..." said the tender.

Vergil slowly stood up, with the tender still aiming for the young master's head, as the fox looked over the tender and his weapon. "Orichalcum... I won't be able to break it... but... " suddenly, with a flash of movement, Vergil quickly twisted the Tender's arm and made him drop the weapon, "There are other ways to disarm an opponent..."

After disarming the snow fox, he kicked the weapon out of the way and turned around, to be met with a blade swipe aiming for his juggular, and barely able to block it at the last second. Silas stood in front of his brother, growling loudly and audiably as he tried desperately to dive that blade into his brother's neck.

"Damn you Vergil! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!!!" he screamed.

Vergil growled and pushed him back to the ground and slowly replaced his weapon into his sheith, growling loudly, "you want a chance to kill me?! Fine... I'll give you one chance... meet me in the Arcan Forest later tonight... No armor, no magic, just swords in a Han-Ma style duel..." With that Vergil growled softly as he began walking away.

As Vergil disappeared from sight, the young snowfox walked over to the injured fox on the ground, "Are you alright sir? nothing broken is there?" he asked.

Silas looked to the young fox and nodded gently, "I... I broke my ribs... but... I..." He began to stand up but fell back down the the ground. The young snowfox gently picked up the middle aged fox and carried him inside over his shoulder.

Inside he brought the young fox to his room as he gently lays him down on the bed and began his special ability of healing, knowing full well there's no way around the confrontations later tonight.

"So," began Ian as his glowing hands would mend the young fox's ribcage slowly yet surely, "What is the start of all this?" he asked.

Silas sighed gently and shook his head, "it's too long of a story but the just of it is, that man killed our father, the only man who ever raised us as his own son, he claims though that he killed our original parents." he said softly.

The snowfox gently looked down to Silas and smiled, "Who was your father..." Silas looked to the tender, "Jules... Jules Brande... the Grande Duke."

The snowfox looked down in utter shock, remembering everything from the past life at this point, Suddenly feeling a shock of pain through his right hand, pulling it away and favoring it. The name gave him chills up and down his spine, This was his boy... in the previous life this was his son Silas.

"S... Silas?!" he asked as he looked to the young fox.

Silas gently looked up, as if surprised at the very mentioning of his name, not knowing the tender knew his name, "You... you know my name?" he asked confused.

"Silas... you had two fathers before Jules, one was Myer Brande... the other was Miles Fiehrick... Silas... My soul is your original father... Myer."

he said gently. Silas looked up to him almost in shock, he thought a moment, trying to place the name. "Myer? F... father?!" he said as he gently held onto the young Snowfox.

Ian smiled softly and closed his eye, "There there Silas... it's ok..." he said softly.

"So... so what he said was true? Jules did kill our original parents," Silas said solemnly.

Ian nodded gently, "Unfortunately yes... He did kill both myself and your other father Miles in the previous life."

Silas nodded softly and slowly got up, now fully patched up and ready to train some, "Which gives Vergil a reason to kill our father, which gives me more reason to kill Vergil... I need to do this father... I know you don't like death, but this is how it should be..." he said calmly. Ian nodded for he knew the truth, this would have to end the Feud once and for all.

Later that evening, Vergil stood deep within the woods of Arca, sighing gently as he entered his state of meditation, he saw the outcome of the battle, there was to be an interloper in the battle, and he knew this person was to be the death of both Silas and himself. Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him as he turned around to see his brother standing with merely a white shirt and a normal pair of pants.

"Good, you made it... it's time for us to end this once and for all Silas..." he said calmly. Little did Vergil know, but the young Snowfox had followed him, staring as if he had found a long lost son.

"V... Vergil?!" Ian said softly. Vergil looked to Ian and smiled softly, "you've no need to explain yourself Father... I knew it was you from the beginning, Han-Ma has opened my eyes to the truth of this world." he said.

Silas picked up his sword and pointed to his brother, "ENOUGH VERGIL!!!, how does this dual of yours work?!"

Vergil looked annoyed to his brother and growled, "We both walk about 30 paces each, seperating us at a total of 60 paces, we charge at full speed and we get one attack and who ever is left standing is the victor... Are you ready Silas?" he asked gently, staring blankly into his eyes. Silas nodded and thus began the Dual.

The two stood 60 paces away as promised in the rules of the dual. Vergeil slowly pulled his Katana out slowly and placed the sheith over to the side, looking intently towards his brother, "Ian... you give us the signal to start running..." he said as he gently stood ready for his attack, as Silas clenched his sword tightly in his paw.

Ian slowly looked to his two sons, sighing heavily and gently nodding, giving the two the signal to start. Both men started their dash towards each other at full speed, both warriors holding their blades to their sides as they ran. The anticipation builds as the two slowly closed in on each other. Suddenly, in a flash of light that reflected the moon's light off of both blades, the both took a swing and stopped abruptly after the attack, holding their possitions after the attack. Ian stood watching this and looked desperately at both blades, praying they didn't get hurt. Sure enough, his fears were realized when he noticed both blades drew blood. Both warriors panted heavily as they suddenly dropped their weapons and fell to the ground.

"SILAS!!!!! VERGIL!!!!!" screamed Ian as he ran over to the two men, only to be met by a Rat standing from behind a tree and walking over to the two bodies, dressed in black clothes, smiling evily.

"Well Well Well... if it isn't Ian Soulfox... I didn't expect you to be here... but all the better..." he said as he pulled up a small gun and held it out in Ian's Direction.

"Who The hell Are you?!" Ian screamed loudly as he backed off.

The rat smirked a bit, "Oh... I'm sorry. allow me to introduce myself, I am Balthazar Antioch, and I was once a mere servant of that horrible Brande family. I'm glad to be finally rid of the two..." he said softly, walking over to the young snow fox.

Ian looked to the Rat and narrowed his eyes, "What do you mean?" he asked angrily.

Balthazar smiled softly and looked to the snowfox, "You see Ian... I was the number two man around here with Jules still alive, and with both of his boys alive, they would be the next Grande Duke... and with your head on a Silver platter, King Arca would enjoy not having the Tail Underground and welcome me as the new Grande Duke." he said deviously.

Ian shook his head, "You'll never get away with this Balthazar..." he said softly.

Balthazar smiled, "Want to make a wager on that Sir Ian?" he said mockingly as he slowly began to pull the trigger. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the came a swipe of a blade from Belthasar's side, taking off the hand armed with the gun. "MY HAND!!!!" Screamed the Frantic Rat only to find two blades at his neck, one of western origin, the other eastern.

"I do believe that's enough evidence to prove I'm innocent brother..." Vergil Said gently as Silas smiled.

"I guess so Vergil, I'm sorry." he said gently.

Ian stared as the two had gotten back up from their supposed fatal injuries, "Vergil? Silas?! what's going on here!" said Ian.

Vergil looked to Ian and smiled softly, "It's simple, I knew there was someone else out here tonight, and I expected he would show himself if we were attacked. I was able to block the blade just enough so it looked like both of us took a serious injury, when in truth we just got scratched... afterwards, I directed Silas' attention to this man here... and thus he knew what to do from there."

Ian smiled softly and looked to Vergil, "My you've grown to be quite the clever young man... but I think we should turn in Balthazar to the proper authorities."

he said softly. Vergil slowly picked up his sheith and placed his sword back into it gently, "I leave that to you... Silas, you don't mind taking father's place as Grande Duke do you? being royalty is not my style..." he said. Silas stared at his brother as he nodded softly, not truely knowing what exactly he was getting at, but even before he could say anything in protest, his brother suddenly disappeared into the night, leaving him as the new Grande Duke of Arca.
