September 8, 2342 - Luxuria; Captains Quarters

(7:30 AM)

Lliam woke to quite a site the next morning. While having felt Kathy get out of bed and hearing the shower start up, his mind didn't register any of it due to the shroud he now wore; commonly known as a hangover. When he heard the shower turn off sometime later and the large fur drier turn on he mindlessly sat up in the bed as his head pulsated in pain. He lowered his head and brought his hands to his temples and rubbed them to try and alleviate some of the pain when the fur drier was shut off and the door to the bathroom slid open.

"Good morning Lliam." Kathy said in an upbeat tone as she exited the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around her.

"Mornin..." Lliam groaned before yawning.

"Hangover?" she asked as she stripped the towel from her and reached into her dresser for clothes.

Lliam nodded his head and said "Yeah" before he opened his eyes and blinked; not once, nor twice but three times. Right in front of him was Kathy, stark naked and bent over showing him her most private places. Her butt swaying slowly in an almost teasing manner as her tail wagged from side to side.

"Oh shit sorry." Lliam said and he tore his gaze from the tantalizing site once the image before him set in.

"Huh?" Kathy looked at him and noticed he was trying to focus his eyes anywhere but on her. "Oh! Sorry Lliam." She said with a chuckle and smiled as she grabbed a pair of cotton shorts and sleeveless top; similar to the ones she was wearing the night before.

While trying not to look as she slipped the shirt on, Lliam asked "Hey, we didn't... 'DO' anything last night... did we?"

Kathy chuckled before looking over her shoulder at him and saying "No..."

With his ears laid back and a blush showing through his fur, Lliam said "Ah... heh, I can't remember a thing about last night."

"Hmm" Kathy hummed as she started to slip the shorts on. Lliam's futile attempt to not stare failed as his eye watched her pull them up; the waistband gripping the curve of her rear as they made their way up to her tail. "Nothing really happened, but we did end up snuggling in the middle of the night."

"Really?" Lliam asked and looked over at her as she turned around "Guess I was sleeping pretty heavily then." He commented as she smiled at him.

"I woke up early this morning and we were both in each other's arms." She said with a straight face.

"What?!"

She couldn't help but laugh before saying "Relax, I was just teasing ya."

"Somehow I don't think that helped. So, were you just doing your normal routine or did you decide to show off on purpose to tease me more?" He said with a lopsided grin to which she giggled.

"Maybe I did... maybe I didn't. Either way, you'll have to pay me back for the peaking you did while I dressed." She told him with a smile.

Lliam blushed again but this time he smiled and nodded his head before picking up his shirt and putting it on. He then asked "You seem to be in a really good mood this morning and that's a far cry from how you were for the last few days, what's up?"

She stopped what she was doing for a moment. She had a slight smile on her face as she said "I... I just feel at peace right now."

Pushing his hair back and out of his face, Lliam asked "So, just by me sharing your bed and you teasing me a few times you...?"

"Lliam" she interrupted, causing him to look at her. She was looking down with a slight look of sadness on her face as she said "I think it's just that, I realized he wouldn't want me to be so obsessed like I was. That and... even though he's gone I still love him and I know I'll miss him but I won't let his death hold me back." She then looked at Lliam and smiled before saying "Besides, I know I can still find someone."

He was about to ask her why she smiled at him like that when she said "Okay, time to see what your 'friends' have done to my ship!"

Luxuria

After leaving her room, Kathy headed to the bridge to find out what had been going on since her self imposed isolation as well as to where they were heading. Upon seeing the look of determination in her eyes once again, James quickly relinquished control of the ship back to her and informed her of their decision to follow the second craft they had spotted and the destination Albert calculated the other ship was heading to.

Agreeing that it was the best call; it would be December by the time they got to starbase five, so everyone prepared for another long trip. Without much to do, James and Sylvia started going over more of the data they had been so graciously given by the Humanitists. They brought the small box that held the data pads up from the cargo hold and into the main lounge to make things easier on them.

Albert spent most of his time helping Kathy on the bridge by navigating or helping James down in engineering when the need arose one day. It turned out that one of the fuel lines that delivered antimatter to the engines was heavily corroded, they had to shut down the engines and clear the lines before James could check them. While Kathy had plenty of spare parts it took a couple days for James to clear and check all the lines.

His excursion through engineering led to him finding more systems that were in disrepair. After fixing some of the worst of the systems, James asked Kathy why the systems in question were so bad. Her response was that there were too many secrets in the systems of a Freelancer ship for regular engineers to look over; a previous rule for Freelancers meant they could only get their ships repaired at Inner Haven or one of the few places that were trusted.

Most places that Freelancers trusted had already been taken over by the Humanitists and Inner Haven was still missing which meant she had nowhere to turn and was hoping the next station they hit they could hire a specialist to fix some of the major issues while she watched over what he "fixed". James decided to ask her if she trusted him enough to look over her ships systems. She told him she trusted him more than some of the places they were allowed to use for repairs. So after taking a week to make sure that life support, gravity and the engines were fine they were able to continue on. The rest of the repairs were able to be done while underway.

Nate continued training with Lliam. While he hadn't exactly done what Nate told him to do; harden his heart, his control of his emotions had greatly improved to the point Nate wanted to fully test his abilities.

November 13, 2342 Luxuria; Holosuite

(2:28 PM)

"Alright Lliam, now to the reason we're holding this training session in the afternoon rather than the morning. I wanted you to be well rested for this." Nate began as Lliam showed up for the training session.

"What are we doing today that's different?"

"Well, it's going to be a bit more advanced than the other sessions we've had. Remember a while back when I caught you slacking off rather than training like I told you too?" Nate asked as he looked at Lliam from the corner of his eye with a slight grin.

"Yeah" Lliam said a little grudgingly at the memory of Nate finding him and how he used all his powers to beat him off the walls.

"Well that's what we're doing today." Nate said to which Lliam groaned.

"I didn't show up to just have my tail handed to me in every way possible." Lliam said with a sigh.

"Exactly... so today I'm showing you how to stop that from happening. If you can't you'll have your 'tail' handed to you again." Nate said with a grin.

Lliam thought about it for a second before; with a matching grin, saying "Alright, but tell me how I'm supposed to defend against things like this?"

"Just hold on a moment. Since we're working with the more physical end of things today I'm leaving Telepathy and mind reading out for now so we're going to work with protecting you from someone with Telekinetic powers. Now your TK level or Telekinetic level is only about a two maybe a three out of five on the scale we use. Which is another reason why we're doing this is so I can accurately gauge that. Most people who have Telekinesis are at a TK level of three which is the most common.

"Twos and fours are less common; though there may be many more people with a TK level of one than three it's just so weak most never even learn they have it. Fives are incredibly rare and most if not all are in the P.T.T Corps or the Humanitists equivalent. Take me for example; I'm a TK level three, T level four and a P level three... uh T standing for Telepathic and P for Psychic." Nate informed at the look of confusion on Lliam's face.

"Alright, what about me?" Lliam asked curiously.

"Well it's a little hard to tell right now but... oh well. These aren't solid ratings but from what I've seen your ratings would be TK level two maybe a three as I said, if what Kathy and you said is true about being able to see into the future you're a P level five no question and since we haven't been working on your Telepathy yet I'd say from what I've seen of you; you're a T level 2 but that's not a proper evaluation." Nate informed.

"You're really grading me low aren't you?" Lliam asked with a chuckle.

"For your base abilities they're real close. However we have to add another factor for you: your Psionic powers. Now we both have Psionic abilities, they're measured on a scale of one to ten and when referring to the strength of a Psionic they're called a Class one to ten rather than a level one to ten. For your knowledge, I'm only a five on that scale... you're about a level eight though." Nate said to his surprise.

"An eight? How do you grade or even gauge that?" Lliam asked, surprised despite himself.

"A few things I've gone over with you show you can do multiple things with your Psionic powers at the same time which automatically raised you to a level five; the lower levels usually only able to do one at a time or can only do one thing each. We already know you can manipulate outward energy sources such as energy and phase based weaponry; just like I can, but you can actually cause an enemies weapon to explode which means you're stronger then I am at it.

"Another power you may have can make you accelerate your healing. Yes before you say so, I know your healing is already fast but you're nowhere near Rrahkarr's level of healing last I saw. You get a cut and it takes a minute or two for it to heal while Rrahkarr could heal in a few seconds. You can actually use your Psionic power to accelerate your healing to that of your brothers but you have to concentrate on doing so.

"Also, our Psionic power raises our abilities in Telepathy and Telekinesis but it doesn't do much for our Psychic abilities; not that you would need the boost. Depending on the level of the Psionic user, a person could have his abilities raised beyond the levels we use to gauge Telepathy and Telekinesis. This is another thing I want to test to see how high you can raise your other abilities.

"Lastly, and I'm not positive on this last one but we've seen that you can affect things at great distances and I believe anything that creates or carries energy. I know of only two people who could actually do what I'm thinking. One is the current commander of the P.T.T. Corps, and the other was the previous commander." Nate said.

"Okay... so what is it you think I could do and who's the current commander and previous commander who can do this?" Lliam asked out of curiosity.

"The current commander is Colonel Sky Ainslie... she's a Class nine Psionic; nearly a ten, and the previous commander was Colonel Adam Ainslie... he was the one who set the bar on Psionics. He was the strongest Psionic ever recorded and was a Class ten Psionic." Nate informed.

"Were these two... husband and wife or mates?" Lliam asked to which Nate chuckled.

"No, you misunderstand. Sky Ainslie is Adam Ainslie's daughter. Though it's not a surprise that she inherited her father's abilities." Nate cleared up.

"Yeah... that would be quite a blunder to make if I ever meet her eh?"

"Understatement... and her father was killed several years ago. Anyway... she can manipulate energy; like you can, but on such a level that..." Nate said as he thought of a way to best explain it. "She can cause someone to spontaneously combust; a... pyrokinesist if you would. I believe you could do the same but... the way she described it; you'd have to be dead set on killing a person and have extreme focus and control of your power in order to do so." Nate said a little nervously.

"Wait a second... you're talking about the chick where you said if you had a choice, you'd fight Delta instead of her?" Lliam asked and at Nate's nod continued with "I now see why you'd rather fight Delta but... how can she cause someone to spontaneously combust?"

Nate looked like he wasn't going to answer when he said "She can use the energy created by the body... or more like she forces what creates the energy in us to create excess energy; so much so that the body can't handle it and its quickest form of release is in heat but there is so much energy that the body bursts into flames."

"Damn, what are her..." Lliam started asking when Nate cut him off.

"Hey enough questions for now alright? We need to get to training; we've already wasted half an hour talking. Oh and... I don't want to catch you trying to incinerate anything. The only place I'll allow you to train doing that is back at the P.T.T. Corps headquarters. So far they've determined Class seven Psionics and under cannot become pyrokinesist's. They're hoping to find another Class nine or ten to see if they can do it or if it's an inherited ability. Now... onto training!" Nate said as he pointed out where he wanted Lliam to be.

Nate then began teaching Lliam how to use his own telekinetic powers to fend off someone who was more adept at using them. It was essentially using his telekinesis to keep him glued to the ground; using his telekinesis on himself being stronger than someone else using theirs to affect him. It still took Lliam a couple hours before he got the hang of using his telekinesis to keep him glued to the spot; that and having his tail handed to him multiple times.

December 23, 2342 - Luxuria; Bridge, Starbase 5: Edge of System

(9:45 AM)

"Well, we're in the system now. It'll be a few hours at sub-light speed to reach the starbase." Kathy said from the helm.

"At least this time we weren't held up by the Sovereign forces this time." Albert stated.

"Thankfully" Kathy said as she checked her screens.

"So anyone see Nate or Lliam lately?" James idly wondered as he watched a gas giant they were passing.

"Ever since a month ago Nate's been trying to push Lliam's powers to its limits." Sylvia said and chuckled before adding "But since a couple weeks ago, Lliam's been dragging Nate in for more training and I swear every time I see him he's limping or he's hurting real bad; I bet we'd see a bunch a bruises if it wasn't for his fur."

"You sayin Lliam's gotten to the point where he can beat Nate now?" James asked with a chuckle.

"Looks that way. So Albert, since you've been on the sensors, do they show that ship leaving the system?" Sylvia asked to which he shook his head.

"No, but the trail is quite cold." Albert told her.

"Well we'll just have to hope people here know something about it." James said.

"Depending on how talkative the people on the station are it may take awhile... it took us forever to find out anything back on Xoto-II." Kathy said.

"Well, what should we do? Pester Lliam and Nate?" Sylvia asked when Nate stumbled onto the bridge wearing his P.T.T Corps trench coat.

"Present and accounted for, so no pestering me... not sure where Lliam is before you ask." He said tiredly as he collapsed into a chair with a grateful sigh.

"Working ya to the bone eh?" James joked.

"I think his powers have allowed him to learn things at a quicker pace than before... it's gotten to the point I just have to tell him or show him once and he can do it." Nate said and sighed again.

"Well we'll have things to do when we get to the station, besides looking for that other ship we need supplies and after all those repairs, we need more spare parts. So, James; since you're our engineer, you can look for the spare parts and anything you think we may need when we get there." She said to him.

"I may need help, so Albert's going to come with me." James said to which Kathy nodded.

"That's fine. Hey Sylvia, how about you and Nate head to the quartermaster and see what you can get from him. When we dock, Lliam and I will check around for any Intel, once you guys finish doing that keep your ears open for anything. Oh and consider this 'shore leave' so have a little R and R while we're here eh?" Kathy finished.

Nate sighed and said "Well if we're still a few hours out... I think I'll head back to my room for more sleep." He then got up and left the bridge.

"If you want I'll take over the helm till we get to the station Kathy." James offered "You can get some rest if you want." He added afterwards.

"I think I'll see what Lliam's up to. Thanks." She said as she left the controls to him.

"Okay... which button makes us go?" James asked with a grin and humor in his voice.

"You're such a goof." Kathy said as she shook her head. "Try not to kill us." She said as she went in search of Lliam.

Luxuria; Holosuite

(9:50 AM)

Kathy pressed the panel near the holosuite doors and watched as they slid open. As she entered the holosuite she heard music being played. The song had just started as she entered, guitar slowly and gently playing as she found herself in a corridor of some kind. Walking along the corridor the guitar picked up in volume as a gust of wind was heard along with it.

As she turned a corner, drums started to accompany the guitar and grew to a crescendo just as the guitar had. As she turned another corner she spotted Lliam; wearing a sleeveless shirt and slacks with his hair tied back. She also noticed that his eyes were closed. Just as the guitar broke into a solo his eyes snapped open and he threw a few jabs into mid air. Kathy watched in amusement as Lliam attacked nothing but the air.

Just as the guitar solo ended the singer began singing and Lliam switched to what looked like a martial arts stance before throwing a few more jabs and even a few kicks. It was then that Kathy realized he was practicing in a form of Martial Arts. As the music continued she realized he was practicing with the beat of the music; throwing his whole body into it.

She watched as he practiced kicks, jabs, shoulder slams and more all with the beat of the music. Surprisingly a person materialized just inches in front of her and charged Lliam. She watched as the person threw a few jabs at him. He dodged them and grabbed one of his attacker's arms with his left hand and kicked him with his left leg; pulling the man's body into the blow as he was kicked.

Just as he kicked the man, a few more appeared and charged him. She watched as he attacked them with everything he had, even bashing a few in the face with his elbow before slamming his palm into another face. It was when he did this that she realized the form he was using was Muai Thai but was mixed with other forms of combat but the other main form she noticed was Krav Maga.

As she continued watching she noticed he wasn't using any of his physical abilities, instead of using speed to dodge the attacks; he blocked them and used their attacks against the others. Instead of using his raw strength to beat them away, he attempted to knock them out or tire them out like a regular person would.

Once the song ended, she noticed everyone that had appeared to fight Lliam were all on the ground. Lliam was still at the ready; waiting for the next attacker. Hoping it was over so she wouldn't distract his concentration she said "So, I'm guessing you found some of my training disks?"

Settling down, Lliam let out a sigh before looking over at her with a smile. "Yeah, hope you don't mind." He said as he walked a few yards over to where a bench was and sat down with another sigh as all the combatants vanished.

Walking over to him she asked "I don't mind but what song was that? You were fighting with beat pretty well."

"Screaming in the Night by Krokus, another old rock band from the twentieth century that I like." He answered with a grin.

"Interesting, you have to show me where you're finding these songs later. Anyway, how long have you been training with those training disks?" She asked with a smile.

He shrugged and said "A few weeks."

She couldn't hide the surprise on her face after he told her that, as she stepped up to him it even showed in her voice as she said "Only a few weeks? Damn... what Nate said must be true then."

"Yeah, he told me what he thought was happening so I decided to put it to the test in other things besides what he and I were going over. Looks like he was right, that training program says I'm already at the black belt level." Lliam said with a grin.

Kathy again had a hard time hiding the surprise on her face when something caught her attention and caused her to step a couple feet back before asking with a pleasant looking yet forced smile "How long have you been in here training?"

After she asked the question he realized why she stepped back and said "I woke up about four... been in here since about five so four... maybe five hours. Either way I think I'm going to need a shower..." he then looked at her and smiled before adding "Don't I?"

With a more genuine smile she nodded and said "Yes, very badly." Which caused both of them to laugh.

"Sure, I'm guessing we've arrived right?" He asked to which she shook her head.

"We're in the system though; only a couple hours out. When we arrive we all have things to do. Sylvia and Nate are going to check with the quartermaster; James and Albert are going to look for spare parts and tools while you and I are going out"

"Oh... is this supposed to be a date?" Lliam asked with a grin.

"W-What!?" Kathy stuttered as her ears flattened and she blushed.

"Well, you said you and I are going out... I just assumed..." Lliam teased, dragging out the last word with an ever growing smile.

"Great" She said as she shook her head; partially to try and get rid of the blush. "You're starting to act like James now!" She said with a smile; realizing that Lliam was teasing her.

"No... we don't need another James." Lliam said with a laugh before standing up and stretching. "I'm going to go take that shower now; I'll catch up with you before we dock." Lliam said as he headed off.

Once he was gone Kathy sighed. "I wonder what he'd say if I said I wouldn't mind going on a date with him." She thought as she headed off to find something to occupy herself with till they arrived at the station.
